Great little restaurant to eat at before Carré. Tip: replace those plastic menus with something better (and cleaner)!

We had such a great experience here. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful, the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable. We ordered a prosciutto pizza and a carbonara, and both were absolutely amazing. Full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and honestly some of the best we’ve had in a long time. But the real highlight was the tiramisu. Oh. My. God. One of the best I’ve ever tasted light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious Italian food and a wonderful dining experience. I’d definitely come back!

Cozy restaurant, excellent food and great service

A very cozy little restaurant with excellent value for money. Very friendly staff. We forgot our bag after the concert at Carré, and they called us and waited until we returned. We give them a big 10 for service.

I recommend this cafe. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and pizza. The portions are large, and the carbonara is tastier than in Italy. The food is served very quickly. And the prices are significantly lower than in other Italian cafes. The owner, who is also the chef, is Italian, friendly and helpful. The pizza is thin-crusted, with plenty of mozzarella, mushrooms, sausage, and artichokes. The crust was pleasantly crisp. Kudos to the chef!

We ate here after visiting Carré (a fashion boutique). The restaurant was clean, attractive, yet simple. The service was a bit chaotic. The owner, unfortunately, was completely unsmiling and unfriendly. The lady was very friendly but clearly not a true hospitality professional. She left glasses, bottles, and plates for the next course. We were enjoying coffee with a table full of empty plates, etc. The food was truly fantastic!

A lovely spot in Amsterdam where you can enjoy Italian dishes. The rosemary focaccia from Ponte Magro is highly recommended!

This cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant is one of the best in Amsterdam. Fresh, delicious food, and Gino the owner is always friendly and welcoming. We love the house salad for two with homemade balsamic vinegrette, Bolegnese sauce with spaghetti, and garlic bread. Cappuccino is amazing! Our go to place every visit and often twice! Given its location the food was very well priced, the pizza's were good only the communication with the waiter was a little channeling either in English or Dutch. I would definitely eat here again when going to the Carrie Theatre.

Excellent food for the price, especially in Amsterdam. It's not a huge place, but our group of 10 could fit in, though it was relatively quiet. The pizzas, by the way, had delicious crusts; definitely recommended.

Nice restaurant, nice decoration and painting! The pizza was disappointing, the dough was not my taste. The service was downright bad. When paying we noticed that nothing was right, the drinks were 1 euro more expensive and several other things 50 cents more expensive than on the menu! Just adjust the menu! This is really not possible! Furthermore, the atmosphere was fine.

I've lived in Holland for three years and the pizza here is honestly one of the best ones I've had!! (4 stagioni) Friendly staff and I like the painted murals inside. Definitely recommend :)

2 visitas esta semana - una comida, una comida para llevar. El lado positivo, las pizzas eran buenas. En el lado negativo, nos damos cuenta de que ahora nos cobraron de más en ambas visitas - lo que nos cobraron difería de los precios del menú. Cuando nos desafiaron cuando recogimos nuestra comida para llevar, nos acaban de dar un encogimiento de hombros y una reducción de 2€ (¡todavía 2€ más que el precio del menú! )

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere

Table reserved for a visit to Carré. That we arrived at the restaurant door open and no customers. It turned out that they were closed due to an inspection. Not a good sign I guess. It can happen, but it is nice to inform the guests about this.

Really, really delicious pizzas. Simply Italian, simple as it should be. Not an extensive menu, but that's not necessary for a restaurant next to Carré.

Loved it! The food was amazing. I had pizza with salmon, ricotta and caviar and cheesecake. Loved it taste. I'd definitely recommend it. I plan to come back. Ponte magro is near the national opera and ballet and h'art museum. If you are looking for a place to eat around, this is a good choice. I only remembered to take pictures of my food after I started eating.

Delicious meal prior to a visit to Carre. It's a pity that 1 gentleman had to serve alone in a busy restaurant.

We were off on a not so great start. Owner took a long time to even pay attention to our table after we got seated. And the first immediate thing that hitt was the smell of said owner. Sad to say his standard of personal hygiene was enough to put me off my food with every passing and the lingering of his smell. However there was hope for a decent meal.. we ordered foccacia as a starter, but the "bread" that arrived was pale, unbaked and dry. Serve this foccacia to any Italian and they might slap you in the face for this disappointing piece of "food" yet hope was still there as hunger makes most things sweet. We ordered pizza full of hope. The (un)kind owner came back with the plates.. broken and unwashed (seems to be a returning theme?) Quietly we ate our pizza which at best could be called mediocre. To which we arrived at a point there was not a small piece of plastic wrapping INSIDE the pizza, but a good 10 cm piece of plastic came served with the mediocre pimped up supermarket pizza! When confronted and showed the plastic the owner simply commented "it can happen" when even asked for something as small as an apology for the potential choking hazzard! The owner refused such a thing! Overall the quality of food, quality of service and quality of personal hygiene seems to be even less of a standard then the mediocre pizza we ate. Highly do not recommend!

Waited a long time for food, everyone who arrived later than us already got food. Im sorry to say but the waiter smelled like sweat and didn't seem to care or understand Dutch/English. Dirty glasses, dirty plates, leftover food was caked on there, menus are sticky. When the food finally arrived my dad had a big chunk of plastic in his calzone pizza! When i said something about this the waiter suddenly could speak perfect Dutch but didn't even apologize. His response was yeah that could be. He did so after i kept insisting that it's really bad to have a huge chunk of plastic in your mouth while eating. His response was, what do you want from me should i say I'm sorry?? I said yes that's a start. To which he replied are you happy now?? Paid, not even sure if it was the right amount the receipt is super cryptic. And left, never eating here again.

Esperé mucho tiempo por comida, todos los que llegaron más tarde que nosotros ya recibieron comida. Lamento decirlo pero el camarero olía a sudor. Vasos sucios, platos sucios, sobras de comida se apelmazaron allí, los menús son pegajosos, mierda! Cuando la comida finalmente llegó mi papá tenía un gran pedazo de plástico en su pizza calzone! Cuando dije algo sobre esto el camarero ni siquiera se disculpó. Lo hizo después de que insistiera en que es muy malo tener un pedazo de plástico en la boca mientras comes. Su respuesta fue: ¿Qué quieres de mí si te digo que lo siento? Dije que sí, eso es un comienzo. ¿A lo que él respondió que eres feliz ahora? Pagado, ni siquiera estoy seguro de si era la cantidad correcta el recibo es super críptico. Y se fue, nunca comiendo aquí de nuevo.

Tuvimos un comienzo no tan bueno. El propietario tomó mucho tiempo para incluso prestar atención a nuestra mesa después de que nos sentamos. Y lo primero inmediato que golpeó fue el olor de dicho dueño. Triste decir que su nivel de higiene personal era suficiente para alejarme de mi comida con cada paso y la persistencia de su olor. Sin embargo había esperanza de una comida decente. . pedimos foccacia como entrada, pero el "pan" que llegó era pálido, sin hornear y seco. Sirva esta foccacia a cualquier italiano y podrían abofetearle en la cara por este decepcionante pedazo de "comida", pero la esperanza todavía estaba allí, ya que el hambre hace que la mayoría de las cosas sean dulces. Pedimos pizza llena de esperanza. El dueño (no) amable volvió con los platos rotos y sin lavar (parece ser un tema de retorno? ) Tranquilamente comimos nuestra pizza que en el mejor de los casos podría llamarse mediocre. Al que llegamos en un punto no había un pequeño trozo de plástico envolviendo DENTRO de la pizza, pero un buen trozo de plástico de 10 cm vino servido con la pizza mediocre de supermercado proxeneta! Cuando se confrontó y mostró el plástico, el propietario simplemente comentó "puede pasar" cuando incluso se le pidió algo tan pequeño como una disculpa por el riesgo potencial de asfixia! ¡El dueño rechazó tal cosa! En general, la calidad de la comida, la calidad del servicio y la calidad de la higiene personal parece ser incluso menos estándar que la pizza mediocre que comimos. Muy no recomiendo!

Bedenkelijk personeel, alcoholvrij bier bestellen en een biertje met alcohol geserveerd krijgen. Zeg liever dat je het niet hebt. Eten van bijzondere kwaliteit, niet vers, diepvries is, goed kauwen vereist.

I ate there with friends. The pasta was not al dente at all, really overcooked sadly. We also wanted to activate a voucher by the Neotaste App, which the waiter did not accept. The waiter has also been rude to my friend and claimed my friend ordered the wrong dish that he brang - which we were all sure she did not order.

Pasta was not good. Pizza was okay. The waiter seemed annoyed all the time. I can not recommend going there!

Small and simple place with very friendly service. Pizza's were okay with a fair price/quality ratio. A bit salty but lots of cheese. Based on previous reviews, we did not order any large beers, so no surprises on the bill.

Full restaurant and only 1 employee as the waiter-bartender-busboy. They should really invest in another person working the prime dinner shift. Definitely recommend making a reservation, very limited seating.

Charges more than the price on the menu card AND didn't let us use neotaste as well. Food was okay, slightly below average. Also, if you work in the financial office of Amsterdam: try to ask for a proper receipt...

We have eaten very, very well without a reservation or anything, we have arrived and they have treated us with great politeness and kindness, the food was very good and made to order, I really recommend it 100% in all ASPECTS, cleanliness, treatment, decoration, etc.. Italian of good quality price for what there is out there... 2 of us have eaten and drank for €38 I RECOMMEND it😌👌

I was there with my family last weekend and had a rather unpleasant experience. Everything was fine until our order started coming to the table. First, we had ordered focaccia but were actually served something which was essentially a thin pizza. Someone else ordered tortellini but was actually served ravioli. The worst part came when my wife, who had ordered cannelloni with spinach and ricotta, tasted her dish. Unfortunately, it tasted as if the ricotta had started to go bad. When we informed the person in charge he appeared to be offended by us informing him that the dish tasted strange and maybe the ricotta had started to go bad. He took the knife from my wife's hand, cut the cannelloni open, stared at it and said something like "what's wrong? looks fine to me. Have you had ricotta before?" in a rude voice. Grudgingly he took the plate away as we opted not to ask for anything else. A few minutes later, after picking up some plates from another table, he thought it appropriate to come over to our table and show us the empty plates and tell us that those people had really enjoyed their dishes and asking why there would be anything wrong with ours. He then walked away. A rather awful experience and definitely not what I would consider proper customer service. In the end he did have the courtesy not to charge us for the dish we returned. Apart from that the food was OK. Nothing particularly good. Thus the 2 stars.

Really cozy place! And really easy and quite yummy food :) this place is everything you would expect from a small italian restaurant like this one. The staff was also nice, and music was quite chilled, also very family friendly.

Prima tent. Goed eten. Niet duur. Tenminste… als ze er geen €15 bovenop gooien bij afrekenen.. bon klopte niet Afronden naar boven naar €120, blijken ze van €120 ook nog €140 afgerekend te hebben… Maar goed, moet zelf ook opletten dus. Al kun je op de bon niets teruglezen. Alles onder “1stuks”.

La pasta y la pizza estaban muy buenas. El local puede parecer un poco cutre de lejos, pero los ingredientes tienen una excelente calidad y te ponen buena cantidad. El servicio fue muy bueno, no había mucha gente y nos trataron muy bien.

Heerlijk gegeten bij Ponte Magro. Wij hadden een beetje haast doordat wij een show hadden bij Carré maar zijn super goed geholpen. De service was snel en goed. Het eten was heerlijk en de wijn was lekker. Alles was top! We zijn met een tevreden gevoel naar de show gegaan. We raden dit restaurant zeker aan!

Das Restaurant liegt in einer Seitenstraße neben dem Theater Carré. Wir waren hier essen, da es nicht so überfüllt war und wir vor dem Theaterbesuch noch etwas essen wollten. Der Service war sehr freundlich, die Pizza sehr schmackhaft und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat gepasst. Da wir nur noch eine knappe Stunde Zeit hatten, haben wir uns sehr über die schnelle Zubereitung der Pizza gefreut. Die "Salami pikante" fällt im übrigen wirklich sehr scharf aus. Mir hat es allerdings gut geschmeckt. Wer es nicht so scharf mag, sollte hier auf die reguläre "Salami" zurückgreifen. Auch die Calzone war gut gefüllt und der Käse von innen schön zerlaufen, so wie es sein sollte. Die Preise sind für die Lage mitten in Amsterdam absolut angemessen und das Ambiente im Lokal war mit den bemalten Wänden auch ganz nett.

Voleur avec les touristes. 7,50€ de plus sur une note normalement à 37€, on finit à 44,50€. Soit disant le tiramisu il y a un extra à cause du chocolat et de la chantilly que nous n’avons jamais demandé - l’eau et la bière serait des prix grands modèles hors que nous avons eu une bouteille d’eau 500 ml et une bière à 25cl. 1€ de plus sur le jus d’orange et la pizza non expliqué….bref l’arnaque. Attention à la note

It's a little old Italian restaurant. If you're not paying attention, you'll miss it. The decor won't blow you away, but it's cute and cozy. The gentleman who served us did so with warm enthusiasm and proper hospitality. Very nice service. We were on our way to Carré for a show, so we were a bit pressed for time. The staff served our meal out very swiftly. However, the quality of the pizza bufala and the lasagne bolognese were outstanding. The dry white wine they serve is smooth and fresh. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and value of this restaurant and would definitely visit again.

Really good food but terrible service. It was us, one other couple and what looked like a small birthday celebration. Felt like we came a distant second to the party, the staff were more concerned with enjoying than serving us. We wanted to get on and see the light festival but even waving my arms didn't get her attention, had to go up and ask for the bill. Even then she promised it was coming but then joined the party for food and wine while he did everything. We got the bill 10 minutes after that. Not surprised the restaurant was so empty. Would recommend in future they close to the rest of the public and spare us the frustration

Heel lekker gegeten voor dat we naar de voorstelling in Carre gingen.

We hadden haast toen we hier kwamen eten gisteren, maar ondanks de drukte zijn we ontzettend snel bediend door vriendelijke mensen en hebben we heerlijk gegeten. Er was zelfs nog tijd over voor een lekkere cappuccino. Aanrader!

Excellent food and lovely service. I had prosciutto with melon as a starter, cannneloni with spinach and ricotta as a main and tiramisu for desert. Had to finish it off with limoncello and a doppio. 👍

Geweldig Restaurant, vlak voor een optreden in Carré nog kunnen eten. Lukt dat binnen een half uur, natuurlijk was het antwoord, daar zorgen we voor! Lekker gegeten op tijd in het theater en echt super vriendelijk!!

Als voorgerecht carpaccio en als hoofdgerecht een pizza! Heerlijk gegeten voor een goede prijs. Zaak ziet er mooi uit en krijg er een Italiaans gevoel van. Ik ga hier nog vaker komen.

Easy and fast stop on my way from work to home. Pizzas are very reasonable, and there's always a table available, even though the restaurant is located next to the famous Magere Brug.

While visiting from the United States of American, we stopped into this beautiful restaurant. The artwork/mural was beautiful inside the restaurant. The music playing quietly in the background was great. The location is perfect both with inside and outside dining. The man that worked /owned the place was very nice. The food was excellent and huge potions.

Amazing food and service! This is our second time visiting the Netherlands from Canada, and coming back here to eat was at the top of our list. We’ve been a few times now and every dish is amazing.
