Nice little restaurant, though it's a shame that it's always a surprise menu and no à la carte; both the menu and the price were a surprise. Price on the high side.

Too bizarre for words; the potato was still raw so inedible, and I wasn't allowed the pesto because it was cheap from a jar and therefore contained cashews. It's a shame that 75% of the served products came from a jar or can. You would think that an Italian place would at least make the tiramisu themselves, but even that didn't seem fresh and came from a packet (the ready-made one from the supermarket is better). There is no wine list and they don't serve tap water either, and there was no music. How this place gets such positive reviews is a complete mystery to me.

This weekend we went to Porto Pino for dinner again after a long time. We had hoped to be surprised by the chef in an Italian atmosphere. Especially based on our past experiences, we were hoping for real surprises. The restaurant certainly looks neat, but has little to do with Italian atmosphere. It could be any restaurant. The service was very friendly and did its best. We had a pretty good meal, but it was all very predictable. Actually, the first course was the only surprise, although here too a mini-caprese with tasteless mozzarella is not very special. Tiramisu as dessert (completely runny: why serve it anyway?) anyone could have guessed. So not again for us. If you want to be surprised by the chef, you also expect surprising choices.

It's wonderful when people truly understand their craft. Here, you can enjoy a delicious menu, fine wines, and outstanding hospitality with ease.

Too much food, too little quality. The menu is abundant with many dishes, but it has no concept whatsoever: just a random mix of very common italian plates. Some things are good some are not. Fish in particular is not good (essentially either dipped in butter or reheated or both). The worst three things are the following: -quality, basically the same of home cooking; -service, the waitress was unprofessional and at times unawarely rude; -interior, the place needs to be revamped, it is frozen in time ... and not in a good time.

Wow wow ...what can we not say about this restaurant ..we were visiting our son and his wife in Leiden. He booked this restaurant for us and other family members also, group of 6) it was a blind tasting menus so we did not know what we were getting to eat...(obviously Itailian food).. It was a four course menu, however with all the food that came out to our table felt like 10 courses, the waitress that served ( never got her name) was fantastic and explained what each dish was or several plates of food that was put before us.... We would definitely recommend this restaurant (lovely for special occasion or just to treat yourselves ) Lovely atmosphere and the music was quite good too Congrats to the chef, brilliant 👏

Naar aanleiding van de goede recensies en ervaringen in het verleden bij Porto Pino gereserveerd. Helaas een enigszins teleurstellend bezoek. Het eten is goed maar niet bijzonder. De porties karig, vooral de entree en de eerste gang. Dan is het restaurant ook nog eens heel gehorig; het was bijna onmogelijk om een normale conversatie te voeren met de tafelgenoten door een luidruchtige groep gasten. Helaas niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

The "new" Porto Pino (under new ownership since 2019) is an absolute must for anyone who wants delicious Italian food without the stress of choice. We recently had a wonderful evening here with four adults (two of whom were vegetarians). Porto Pino works with a surprise menu: no one has to choose, everyone enjoys the same dishes (taking diets and allergies into account). We also received advice about the wines and received excellent service throughout the evening. The service had a lot of knowledge of what they served and was very enthusiastic! We will definitely come back!

Went to Porto Pino for dinner with my partner on the recommendation of a family member. It fully met the expectations that we were told in advance. What hospitality and delicious food! The owner's wife is very hospitable and spontaneous. The owner is able to make us enjoy tiramisu even though we normally don't like it. In short, 5 asses!

I have never experienced service this bad. We arrived at 7pm. We got 4 bruchettas on the house, the starter was good, but we waited 45 minutes. Antipasti followed at 8.30pm. Whilst we were waiting for our main, we asked for extra bruchetta as we were getting very hungry. The waiter responded 'we don't do that'. My son asked for plain water. The response, ' we don't do that'. At 9.10 I asked the waiter for the 2nd or 3rd time how long we would have to wait. He replied " that's the kitchen's business, not mine' . I asked him to find out as we'd been waiting more than 2 hours. The chef stormed out, shouted at me, called me a liar and told us to leave. The bill was for the 4 course meal, we'd eaten two courses, I refused to pay. The waiter reduced it to three courses, and suddenly included 30 euros for the bruchetta. I refused to pay. The chef stormed out again, I said quietly we would pay for what we'd eaten. We paid 174 euros for a free bruchetta, 4 starters, antipasti and drinks. If you like good service, don't go to Porto Pino.

Had dinner here on Sunday June 3 with 5 people. Friendly welcome, choice of table. Beautiful interior, nice seats. No menu, so a guarantee of freshly prepared food. I think that's a great concept too. Home made bruchetta, antipasti, all taken into account with allergies and preference for eating fish for 1 person. Top! Delicious fresh pasta as an entree. Then it was okay for us, but we also had delicious sirloin steak with grilled vegetables. And also great dessert, fresh tiramisu. Bueno Bueno mangare! Price wasn't too bad, about 80 pp including nice wines. If I had to mention something, I would also offer table water as a choice instead of Italian bottles. It can be sustainable if we want. What a great restaurant! On a quiet Wednesday evening we enjoyed a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere. The service was great, with a friendly girl behind the bar. The cook/owner came by every now and then to check whether everything was as expected. At the end of the evening we received special Italian cookies from him. The concept of being surprised by the chef is really fun and something different than usual. Every dish we were served was absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back!

This is due to the appearance of the restaurant and of course the staff. We enjoyed a surprise menu. The portions were not too big and not too small, just right. This allows you to enjoy every dish. The flavors of the dishes are perfectly matched. A red wine was recommended for the main course, which matched the dish perfectly. For dessert, of course, we had homemade tiramisu. The only point of attention was that the glasses were sometimes empty for a long time and the next dish had already been served without asking if anything else could be poured.
