A lovely wine bar with a wide selection. They have a great system where you can sample all sorts of wines, and on Saturdays, they have oysters for €1—really great!

People working at the service are ridiculous,unprofessional and not respectful.

Raleigh and Ramsay is a great spot for wine with a relaxed atmosphere. Julia served us and did a great job, recommending some excellent wines. Solid experience, I’d come back. See you guys soon!

It’s not just the chance to choose from around 100 different wines — the food is great too, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and there’s always room to discover and enjoy something new in your glass.

While all other R&R places seems to be pet friendlly (dozens of times I've been there), this one is not only... not pet friendly... but also very rude. Third time. There are enough R&R and wine bars around that don0t make you feel terrible when you bring your pet. Not recommended for a meet up.

The service was brilliant, the man who served us was so friendly and kind, and the food was AMAZING!! So flavourful and yummy, would highly recommend!

Hands down one of the coolest wine experiences I’ve had! The wine selection is off the charts and totally unique. You get to be your own sommelier — just top up your card, read the fun wine descriptions, swipe, and pour yourself a perfect glass. It’s super interactive and a blast for anyone who loves trying new wines. Definitely a MUST visit spot to discover flavors you won’t find anywhere else in Amsterdam! 🍷✨

De giga tapopstelling van wijntapperij R&R met zo’n 200 flessen is indrukwekkend. Een snelle keuze lukt ons niet, dus gaan we voor een eenvoudig bruisende Agusti Torello Cava uit de koeling. De uitbaters doen het idee van hun naamgevers Rayliegh en Ramsay eer aan: elke wijnfles in de wijntapperij is in de hoofdruimte gevuld met argongas, een edelgas dat oxidatie van de wijn voorkomt. Eerst een kaartje kopen, geld erop zetten en gebruiken is omslachtig. Dit doet het Amsterdamse GVB beter. Idee?

20 minutes to go to the restaurant only to be denied entry and told to sit outside, it was very cold and there were two free chairs at the bar. Disgusting staff, left and will never return

Absolutely LOVED this place! Came across it randomly and saw the reviews and the wine machine concepts, and it lived up to what I read. The wine selection was great and fun to experience. The food was absolutely fun and delicious. The charcuterie board was a perfect start as we figured out the wine machines and the tapas food each had great flavor overall. It was our last night in Amsterdam, and it was a memorable experience that I look forward to coming back to.

The concept is growing in popularity and this is a really nice place to try it. Wine selection (100) has some great choices. Food was also good. I suspect that you could have some very enjoyable evenings here.

Roos in particular was a great bartender, I had a great evening. The whole atmosphere is good and we had a fantastic evening

Nice place, we often visit the one in West but had never been here. The wines and food were great, but many wines were out or almost gone, so we could taste a lot less. Replacing wines took a long time due to the crowds.

Fantastic! The Slave Finch is an absolute must and I will definitely come back! The wines are delicious and the staff is great!

Bad experience with rude staff.

The guy over the counter has a very nasty attitude towards us. We approach them with nothing but respect and interest, we kindly just asked questions, its our first time here and we dont know the system. He was answering us very condescendingly and told us off, even at some point lay his hand on my shoulder where i dont consent to. However he wasn’t behaving like this to a former costumer who is happen to be white. I was wondering if i will get the same treatment if i am not a foreigner. But even then this 2025 and also this is in Amsterdam, one of the most international city. I wish the staff can develop more compassion and empathy for all people. Overall not a good experience.

I've been here before for the delicious wines and oysters. The atmosphere is always cozy and cozy, and the service is exceptionally friendly and attentive - every time. I'll be back soon!

Good place to try various wines (they have more than 100 options). What I like about the place is an option to try small amounts of wine (25ml and 75ml). And, of course, you can order a 150ml glass. Be careful, small portions of wine look inexpensive, however this is not the case (if you take the size of the glass into account), and money on your card will disappear very quickly. Food is ok, atmosphere is also ok, but I found their high tables and high chairs inconvenient. Probably part of the strategy that makes you stand up and get new wine more frequently.

What a special place, all its wines come with a card that has a full full full selection of wine from all over the world. The guy who served me was incredibly funny and professional, a highly recommended experience

Esta es una experiencia de restaurante increíble, habíamos estado todo el día en Rotterdam y estábamos empapados y fd arriba, menú se veía muy bien, pero resistente al principio vino tinto, sólo quería un vino tinto, camarero absolutamente increíble sin pretensiones me dijo que sería divertido y lo era, tarjeta de recarga y puedes probar cada vino, luego elegir su vino tan inteligente más de 100 vinos a elegir , la comida era increíble col de cola de buey, coliflor wasabi, bacalao, cerdo , lo recomendaría altamente y lo que un crédito a Rayleigh y Ramsey su camarero Giel cuidar de él es fabuloso gracias

Owner was working this night we stopped in. Spoke with him about his business and enjoyed 5 glasses of wine for $20. This concept is far superior to a regular bar. PEOPLE GET YO BUTT IN HERE AND HAVE A GLASS!!!

One of our favorite places to go on Saturdays. On that day you can get oysters for only 1 euro each, with a maximum of 6 per person. And the best part is that you can tap your own wine. Really delicious.

Cannot say anything about the food actually, so 5 stars for the wine selections. Came here several times only for the wine testing experience and totally love it.

Very friendly and hospitable staff. Great option of small size dishes like tapas. Delicious and artistic. We were there around11 and they still served us very well. Steak and short rib tacos were specially very good. Higher recommended

Meals are served in small portions, like appetizers. We bought and shared a 4-course meal. These are gambakroketten, bitterballen, steak paris, shortribs. It was all very delicious. There is an interesting system for wines. You are given a card, such as a credit card, and money is loaded onto this card. With this card, wine is filled from a system similar to a dispenser. We paid exactly as much as we could drink. I don't know if there is a refund if you overload. It's a fun system. We drank 2 different white wines, both were very nice.

I ordered a Dutch Mule and some Bitterballen. Loved it!

Servicio muy amable. La comida será servida para usted, pero el vino es autoservicio. Teníamos la miel / feta, Jack Daniels bao bollos, patatas fritas y aceitunas. Nos encantaron los bollos de bao y las patatas fritas fueron quizás las mejores que hemos tenido. Lástima que no tuvimos demasiada hambre, así que no probamos demasiados platos. Como concepto, depende de ti si quieres tomar vino sin servicio o no. La única desventaja del vino era que no todo el vino blanco estaba frío.

We were staying in the area and were looking for a wine bar and found Rayleigh & Ramsay Van Wou on Google maps. From the outside we could tell it was our kind of bar. A very relaxed environment with good music and not too busy. Loads of wines to choose from, however the staff are happy to help guide you with recommendations based on what you like or are eating. Despite arriving close to the kitchen closing they were happy to do us some cheese and cheesecake. The cheese being a particular highlight. A must visit if you're staying in De Pijp.

I come here regularly and always have a great time. The concept of the wine machines is fun and allows me to get to know all the different tastes without having to buy the whole bottle. It's perfect if you don't know a lot about wine and don't know what you're looking for, or just want to discover new tastes. There are nice little cards you can take with the name and some info for every wine in case you want to remember which was your favourite. The menu consists of a range of tasty tapas and there's always something for anyone. I personally like almost all of their bites. The place looks really cozy too and the only downside to it is how crowded (and kind of loud) it can get because it's a really popular place and in a very busy street. Most days if you want a table you need to book in advance. But despite the crowdedness the staff is quick to help.

The concept is really cool: You tap your own wine from the machine by inserting your prepaid card, and then choosing how much of each wine you wanna try. That way you can sip your way through several wines (which are all very well described). And if you find a favorite, you can buy a bottle and take it home.

Been here a number of times now with friends and am very pleased with the location and the concept! I used to always go to De Tulp for drinks with friends, but after the renovation it really became a pottery shop window (it really doesn't look like much). Then I went looking for a new place to have a nice drink and found it! Unique concept with wine tasting that I have never seen before + super chill that if you like a wine you can immediately buy a bottle to take home! The staff mainly speaks English, but that doesn't make them any less friendly/knowledgeable! I am very pleased with Diana specifically, you really notice that she is the hostess of the location!

This is such a nice place! Went with some friends and we booked the oysters Saturday. We paid the 25 euros deposit per person before, so this is the only amount we spent on drinks. We were surprised we could actually drink a lot with 25 euros per person. The wine selection is really nice, with options for every taste.

100 wines on tap from light and fresh to dark and robust. But all equally tasty. Friendly staff. Tasty snacks.

Very nice wine bar with fair prices and very friendly staff. Be sure to ask for their tips, because they know everything about the wines. Also a tip for those who enjoy wine tasting, because you can do that perfectly here by sharing half glasses or serving tasting glasses.

Gezellig en kleine tent met heel veel wijnen op de kaart. Leuk dat je de wijnen ook zelf kan tappen door middel van een kaart. Het eten was echt goed. Ideaal voor shared dining en een extra reden om terug te komen. Minpunt was de bediening. Heel vriendelijk, maar stonden qua drukte met te weinig mensen waardoor er minder aandacht was voor de gast.

Friendly staff and great concept. I miss the space they had in Oost, cause it was much less crowded than this location. Definitely reserve a table if you’re going with a group, space fills up fast. Got a cheese plate too, which was a little pricy for its size, but had a nice variety.

I really enjoyed this concept. Got to try a few wines on my bucket list. The food is expensive for what is received but still tasty.

Overall good experience. Staff is very helpful and nice but I find the experience too expensive. Usually in wine bars you can try the wine without having to pay for the very little wine they pour but here you have to pay between 1-2€. Cheese/ham platter is good but too small for 24€. They also only provide 2 slices of toasted bread and 2 very small slices of raisin bread. Dishes are too expensive for the quantity we received. I understand that in a wine bar quantities for food are usually small but prices need to align to the quantity. And also they need more hangers for the coats especially in the winter.

Used to be my first go-to, but recently the staff changed and there’s so much attitude.. also not sure why they choose not to accept small doggies. Very strange choice for a place in de pijp. Still, wines are nice and the food is good. I will keep coming back and hope for a better service in the future.

Lekker cava met oesters op! Op zaterdagen €1,- per stuk! Feest! Het duurde best even voordat ze het kwamen brengen, maar vriendelijk personeel! Verder niets genuttigd, dus kan daar nog weinig over zeggen. We gaan wel een keer terug, want de verschillende wijn-taps die je zelfstandig kunt bedienen met een wijnkaart, welke je koopt, zien er erg aantrekkelijk uit!
