Just an amazing bar in Amsterdam centre. The hosts are very pleasant, helpful and efficient. Wine choice is great and overall happy with value for money. Just a easy place to chill. Discovered a couple of new good wines too.

Perfection in Amsterdam. Just what we needed on a Sunday afternoon. Wine, cheese and creme brullee. Heaven!

The wine and atmosphere were good, the food and service were not good. The wine and ambiance were good, but the food and service were not. For example, the main course was brought while we were still having our appetizers.

Yesterday, we spontaneously visited this very nice wine bar and were lucky enough to get a table right on the canal. It was simply a dream: the food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service... Highly recommended for a little break in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

The wine cellar is excellent. The restaurant holds a single Gault Millau rosette. For the entree, I had buratta served with Mediterranean greens, beets, and oranges. The cheese croquettes with mustard sauce were excellent. The melanzane was excellent. The spare ribs and Indonesian stew were also excellent.

For me, this is one of the most beautiful wine bars in Amsterdam. Although located in the heart of the city, it's very quiet and idyllic on a canal. Space is limited, but that also makes it feel particularly cozy. The service is friendly. There's a fantastic wine list where everyone should find something to their taste. There's also a small menu that fits well with the concept. There's always something going on here.

The food was good, the wine was good, but the old lady was not very optimistic.

We stopped in here a year ago and again tonight, still a great place with tapas and wine. Food and wine were great!

We found the kitchen to be very successful. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The appetizer called melanzane was the most amazing. You will be pleased with everything you consider ordering here. We liked everything we tried. The staff was fast and friendly. The prices were average. We definitely recommend it.

Extremely rude service. I came by myself and just went to sit at a table because no one really addressed me. A waiter then came to me not even asking me what I wanted to drink or if I wanted to eat something but asking how many people I was. When I said one person, they got al awkward and an older lady - I assume the owner intervened. She was obviously Dutch and I had heard her speaking Dutch before but for some reason she spoke English to me and said I was sitting at a table for four people (the only other available seats were at the bar and I wanted to sit down comfortably and just have some food for like 30 minutes). I politely replied in Dutch that I spoke Dutch. She then said I rather rudely that I would have to move to the bar if a group of four entered, even if the table next to me was still free as well and still had six available seats (but they were high seats). I replied in Dutch that that was a bit odd but fine, she didn’t seem satisfied with my reply - as if she wanted me to move now - and said the same thing again in English. I then said again that I spoke Dutch so to please address me in Dutch and she replied again in English. I got up and left and she said I should have waited for them to sit me down in the first place even if no one came op to me so I went to sit down. Sorry hoor. I’m sure they’ll reply below here and twist the story completely while I just was a client making the mistake of going to a bar by myself treated rudely simple because I was by myself.

Top business, delicious wines also by the glass, tasty snacks and dishes. Super staff and pleasant setting.

What can I say, I can disappear the best wine here🕺 Very lovely and cosy place, I did enjoyed every moment and will recommend it Shiraz to all my old school friends! Food was good. Excellent cheese platter, bruschetta ok not really our style, wines were very good, had the cabernet sangiovese and the malbec and the chocolate which was good. Service got worse as the evening progressed and ruined it for us.

Ridiculously busy. We went on friday evening, two ladies to have a glass or two. There was a huge queue outside as if they were giving free drinks. And we want to put our names on the waiting list. The waiter said there is no point... Unbelievable, these people are so spoiled that they don't care anymore about customer, service, and quality, as they are paid anyway no matter what they sell. We miss old Amsterdam. These types of places should disappear.

The atmosphere inside is very nice, the music is great. If the weather is good you can also sit outside. The wine list is very good. We had a cheese plate and pasta with truffle sauce, it was very good.

Italian in Holland: excellent place for dates and romantic dinners; it is intimate and with soft lighting. Very cute and aesthetic! The place offers a wide selection of interesting wines and the service is excellent (they bring water by default) :) Nothing to say… I highly recommend it!

The kitchen closes at 10 oclock exact even if you order only a cheese plate and wine and come at 10:05!

The tent looks nice and has a nice atmosphere. But service is very inattentive, it took a long time before we were noticed for a table, it took a long time before our order was taken (a friend was even ignored). Then we both get a dirty glass. One so dirty that we walked to the bar for a new one, which was cleaner but still dirty. The toilet was downright gross, which couldn't have come from the last few guests so it had to be that way all evening. The music changed every few minutes, in the middle of songs. That also went from rock, but The Youth of Today to Spanish vibes, all mixed up and always interrupted and very loud. The wine was fine, but pricey. Very unfortunate for a tent that otherwise looks so nice.

Discovered by chance. One of those places that you see while walking and want to visit. Great discovery, a place to spend a very pleasant time. Good wines, pleasant foods and very good service.

Fantastic spot on a canal with a lot of wine options. Servers ready to answer any questions or let you try a qube before ordering it. Food was also fantastic. Every dish was delicious.

Great place to start the night or spend the whole evening. The wine selection is perfect. Every bottle tastes good and the food matches perfectly with the wine. The place is a bit packed and loud but I guess it is the price of the success. All the waiters are nice and friendly.

After ten good experiences, the counter is back to 2 stars for the time being. The wines are excellent and the selection is good and varied. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. But on busy days it is better not to come here alone because then the table occupancy clearly takes precedence over customer service ($$). And personally, I'm not in favor of having to eat at a bar. Tip: come with at least two people because then you can sit at a table for four.

Perfect spot for glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of outdoor seating, (comfortable seating) overlooking the canal. A block off the busy tourist street of Korte Leidseder, so you don’t hear any noise and can just relax. There is a big selection of wines by the glass and many different bottle options ranging from €20-€100s. I had a Pinot Noir from Languedoc €7.50, Chablis €12.50, Cabernet Sav. from Moldova €7.50 and mixed plate of cheese and meat €18.50 Friendly staff and knowledgeable about their wines. The interior space was I inviting so when the weather doesn’t permit you can feel comfortable and cosy inside. Overall, it was a good experience and I will return. That’s all for now.

Beautiful wine bar in a beautiful location. On Friday afternoon it was almost full, and according to people we spoke to, it is full almost every day (closed on Mondays). Nevertheless, the service was very friendly, arrived at the table quickly and allowed us to taste the wine first. The only downside is that the glasses are poured very sparingly. At most 100 ml, but I think even less. So advice: order a bottle.

Unprecedented!! What a sensation, so much wine knowledge and delicious bites from the kitchen. The atmosphere is to love, as if you are in a romantic movie with your loved one. The glassware is in order, the Sommalier Tom has a lot of experience and dares to take on the challenge You must visit this wine bar!

I arrived, asked at the bar what the waiting time was for a table for 2, the guy said 10/15 minutes. I said ok, I’ll wait. As I am waiting this extremely rude lady asks me to move, then asks me what I am waiting for and i say a table for 2 and she replies, no, you can’t wait, we have a waiting time of at least 40 minutes. This is not my first time here, and I used to love this place, but right now, i feel this discrimination at its best.

Beware of this merchant running an overcharging scam! We were overcharged €30 (2 x gambas), which we didn't notice until after we had paid and left. I emailed the bar multiple times about it, but they failed to reply. They could be trying to exploit foreigners, relying on the fact that foreigners can't come back to challenge their practices. Avoid this place!

Cozy wine bar with an impressive collection of wines, knowledgeable staff, but the food could be of a slightly higher standard.

The wines (and snacks) were delicious... I need to come back for the food. I had to put all my clothes in the washing machine though, after our visit... The kitchen could use a better extractor fan.

If you like wine and small talk with friends it is the place where you may go.

Nice place and a cozy atmosphere, the service is good and our waiter had a lot to tell about the wines. The wine we had was very good. Definitely come back here again. Please note that the space is not very large and you may have to wait outside. While you are waiting, you will be shown the wine list and you can already order.

Really loved this cozy wine bar—it’s got such a French vibe that you almost forget you’re in Amsterdam. The jazzy music and warm ambiance make it perfect for a date or just catching up with friends. The wine selection is great, and they give you nice explanations to help you choose. The food was good too. Super cozy, friendly, and a spot I’d totally recommend for a relaxed night out.

Used to come here all the time but one quiet mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, the owner decided to yell at my 3 year old for playing with chalk next to the restaurant. This was not even on their terrace area and anyway the sidewalk is public property. We all know it’s going to rain soon anyway. If it’s that big of a problem and you’re that soul-less, just go pour water on it. My little one was so proud of her chalk drawings and then left feeling super sad like she did something wrong. She didn’t do anything wrong. Yeah we were at a wine bar with a toddler but it was 5 pm with 1 other table occupied outside. I live behind the restaurant. I still cant believe someone would be this soul-less to a 3 year old. Yikes.

We stopped by here one afternoon while it was raining, and we were so glad we did! We ended up staying for awhile and trying different wines and foods. They have a really good selection of wines to pick from. We tried a few whites and reds, all of which were delicious. We ordered a couple things to eat too, everything was tasty. The staff were really friendly as well. It's located on the canal, so the view outside (even in the rain) is beautiful.

Good wine and lots of choice between Europeans, South Africans and Australians. mix of good cheeses to accompany a drink, flowers and candles on the table, friendly and quick staff. Romantic place, very nice external position overlooking the canal. Nice interior with a nice counter with stools, armchairs and a social table next to the display of bottles. I recommend it ❗️

A new discovery for us. One of the best bars in the area with a great wine menu and an experienced staff that is willing to tell you a 10 minute long story about each wine - and we're more than willing to listen. They have a nice selection of Italian wines, and our waiter Alessandro (?) was really helpful in choosing we all enjoyed his recommendations. The atmosphere inside is cozy too, although we stopped by for some drinks after dinner and it was quite late and dark at night. Would visit again, for sure to also try out their food.

Really nice spot on the river away from crowds, and very good wine selection. However the service was terrible. One waiter was too busy chatting to a table of Americans and to his girlfriend to notice me waving at him multiple times. Another walked past me twice , I was completely ignored! I wouldn’t mind but it wasn’t busy at all. When I went inside to order, they looked at me like I had three heads! The waiter even brought tiny beers out to another table two by two, (apparently can’t use a tray?) it was bizarre, like they hadn’t worked in a bar before.

Endless wine list and excellent cuisine.

We wanted to dine in this restaurant which has a fairly nice atmosphere. There were 5 of us with a stroller. We were first told to wait a quarter of an hour outside until a table became available. So we sit outside to order an aperitif; it starts to rain very gently, nothing for a city like Amsterdam. They come back to see us and we are told that they are going to close the terrace due to heavy rain forecast... Strange (also it stopped raining very early, 5 drops in total). So we can't order a drink. We respond that Ok, we simply wait standing without drinking. The owner, an elderly and very unpleasant lady comes out and, speaking in a very authoritarian tone, tells us to leave because in any case there will be no place for us (with the stroller) either inside or outside. Plus they are waiting for 2 tables of 8! We tell her that the stroller folds so it won't take up any space and, raising her voice, she invites us to leave because there won't be any room for us. So, kind owner: we come from wine country, never in a Parisian restaurant/wine bar have we been asked to leave because we were with our daughter. , except of course in a chic or starred restaurant but there that was not at all the case. Your bar, which is nothing other than an expensive resale of foreign wine, will surely be full of customers with whom you appear charming because they do not have children. We were then welcomed into a very chic neighboring restaurant, where everyone took great care of our daughter.

Best wine bar in Amsterdam by atmosphere and wine selection. Greatly located a bit away from the most touristic spots on the canal. Walk-in, can't be booked in advance, but definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

Shiraz is one of the best wine bars I have been to anywhere in Europe. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. As soon as I walked in, I could tell that Shiraz is run by wine lovers for wine lovers. The wine and food menu is excellent with lots of options allowing a focus on small plates paired with wines by the glass, or if you prefer large plates paired with a bottle. There are lots of delicious vegetarian food options on the menu. The staff were all friendly very knowledgeable about the wines. Next time I am in Amsterdam, I will definitely be back.

A really cozy place inside, with nice terrace in the good weather. The wines are great and you have a huge selection. The food is also tasty and the we had a very friendly and kind service there.

Stopped here after a long day walking around town. Lovely atmosphere both inside & out - not really any “garden” but nice decor & a few seats outside next to the canal. Wine pours were generous & service was polite and attentive despite being quite busy. Huge wine list if you’re willing to buy a bottle. Menu could do with a few more small plate/snack options, but I was surprised by the generous portions. Definitely worth a look

Very unfriendly staff. When I indicated that I didn't drink wine, the waitress got angry with me. She asked if I realized it was a wine bar. I experienced this as very inappropriate and it had a negative impact on my evening.

This place is really lovely; a breath of fresh air for casual wining but with a great wine list, fabulous decor and great atmosphere.

Had to wait for 30 minutes to at least get some bread. Had a chance to sit in front of the kitchen. They were amazing. No one cared to pick up the food though. Wine list is okay. But don’t waste your time and save your money. This was the worst service in Amsterdam

Wine bar with a canal-side terrace which is sunny from midday. The interior is nice but the kitchen open to the room gives off a lot of smell, particularly smoke, which is not very compatible with wine tasting, prefer the terrace :)

The best place for an aperitif or a light dinner in Amsterdam. A huge selection of wines, champagne. Very tasty snacks. But the main thing is the service - amazing service, attention and respect for each guest. In love with this place
