When you're bored one afternoon in Amsterdam, stop by! Best croquette ever! I'll be back ❤️

We went here with my girlfriend for a glass of wine. We didn't eat anything here, which is why we didn't give any stars for that. The decor and ambiance inside are really great. You can't compare it to anything else, but it makes you curious. The different wines tasted very good too. The service is perfect. Two young guys who know what they're talking about but are also really good at their job. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! Hence this review, which we don't do often. A great place to visit if you're in Amsterdam!

We didn't take many photos this time, perhaps because we were sitting so beautifully and cozily by the canal on a nice bench under a sunshade. A wonderful atmosphere at this wine bar. The service was extremely friendly and professional. A lovely small bites menu with plenty of variety. A magnificent wine list with a wide selection and many gems. See the photo of the receipt to see which splendid red wines we chose. It is a pity that no coffee is served, but I'm sure they hear that often. They have arguments for it. However, the hostess did offer us 4 glasses of yuzu sake, a kind of limoncello. Incredibly kind, and it was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

A truly wonderful atmosphere, very friendly staff, and highly recommended for wine lovers. They also have delicious and tasty food. What was particularly nice was that I was sitting inside and was then asked if I'd like to sit outside, which was absolutely perfect.

Yesterday, I celebrated my husband's promotion at Shiraz with 22 people in a separate room. It was spectacular – a wonderful walking dinner with delicious wines. Everyone was thrilled. Jet was a fantastic host and gave good advice right from the start. The service was professional and friendly. Highly recommended for a special celebration. Thank you, Shiraz!

A fantastic wine bar, a wonderful wine list and great food

Good wine and a wide variety of European, South African, and Australian wines. A selection of delicious cheeses to accompany your drinks, flowers and candles on the table, and friendly, professional, and fast staff. A romantic place. The outdoor setting overlooking the canal is very pretty. Nicely decorated interior, with a nice counter, armchairs, and a social table next to the wine display. I recommend it ❗️

Incredibly cozy place, tasty wines, and it's also nice that there is so much choice by the glass. The tapas are delicious, especially the Pata Negra 🤤. You do need to be lucky to get a spot though. Service was good but just a tad too rushed sometimes. Will I be returning? 100%

Really nice wine bar 🍷 We were 4 persons and we did not wait long before having a table ! We had each a glass of wine and a platter of cheese 🧀 We really enjoy our time there and the waiter was really nice and welcoming!

Great place with great atmosphere

Potentially a very nice little bar, with plenty of choices and a good atmosphere. However, there were a few disappointments. At the bar, we were told the next table would be ours. This turned out not to be the case, as they had forgotten two couples. After 20 minutes, we finally got a table, but there was practically no service. Questions about the wine were practically unanswered. Advice on what would be a logical follow-up wine was also ignored. "This is from the same region"; that much was also clear from the menu. We sat with empty glasses for over fifteen minutes, and when we asked if we could order something, the answer was, "A sommelier will be with you shortly." However, they were busy chatting in the kitchen, so he didn't show up. Finally, at the end of the evening, when we asked what we had all been drinking, she herself was no longer clear. In short: potentially great, but unfortunately subpar execution.

We stumbled in here after following the smell of aioli from the street. It turned out to be the best food experience we had in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was as good as their wine selection, and the service was the best we’ve had in a very long time. 10/10!

We visited this store with my group of friends because it was close to the hotel where we were staying. We were thrilled. Friendly and polite staff. They found us exactly the wine we wanted from the wonderful wine list they had. Delicious food options. The prices were reasonable for me. The atmosphere was warm and the space was nice. Anyone who visits the city should stop by this wine bar.

Warm and chic without being ostentatious, pleasant decor, excellent wine (my choice was a white Rioja), a menu perfectly in keeping with the style of the place, ideal for a light meal or to share. A very enjoyable experience.

We don't live in the Netherlands, but we'd been here before during a stay in Amsterdam. We happened to walk past it. It's great fun to go with friends and share the delicious dishes, get advice on the wines, and just relax. Everyone is friendly and they're really helpful. We were back in Amsterdam in December/January and went back a few times. It was a great success. It's in a neighborhood I never really went to when I lived in Amsterdam, but now you'll definitely find me, my husband, and our friends there again when we're back. One of the better places. But how could it be otherwise? The owners used to own Tantje Koosje in Loenen aan de Vecht, where we always enjoyed going, also because of the fantastic wine list and service!

One of my favorite wine bars in town 🥂. I come here regularly with my boyfriend, friends, or acquaintances. The nice thing about this bar is that a lot of wines are served by the glass: 15/20 white and 15/20 red. The wine is a bit more expensive because it is real quality wine, but the dishes, on the other hand, are affordable. It is a family business, and you can see that reflected in the amazing, sociable, and sweet staff. They can help you very well if you are looking for a special wine to pair with a dish. Definitely recommended, and we will be back soon 🥂.

Great wine bar, walk-in only, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and delicious snacks. A tad on the expensive side, but the quality is certainly not lacking.

A very good experience with a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere. A great wine selection and attentive servers. The only slight drawback was that they served crackers instead of bread with the platters. In conclusion, an experience not to be missed when visiting Amsterdam!

A very cosy winebar with an excellent range of wines from all over the world and at different price ranges. The food is good as well with good quality products and a range of dishes. However the lack of hospitality and service that matches the food and wines is disturbing. We were there for more than 3 hours and never ever did the staff ask how we are, whether we enjoy the food and wines, if we want to order anything else, nothing. On the contrary, it was hard to grab their attention for ordering another glass or dish. At this level one would rightfully expect hospitality and a more welcoming engagement from their side. Too bad, it spoils the otherwise excellent afternoon visit.

The food and drinks were excellent. The atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately, we were charged for two bottles of wine instead of two glasses, which shouldn't have happened. The service, unfortunately, didn't do the restaurant justice.

Definitely a favorite. Both the snacks and the wine are delicious. It's super cozy inside, and the staff really go the extra mile for you. Well done.

We were looking for a good winebar and came across Shiraz. They have a great wine selection and nice snacks to pair it with (even if not all were my thing). The place has a Lovely atmosphere, so expect it to be busy on weekends! In regard to food allergies, the staff was very accommodating and thoughtful. Definitely recommend!

What a lovely place! Shoraz is a truly top-notch wine bar with a super cozy atmosphere. They have wines in all price ranges—from affordable to more special—and all equally delicious. The snacks are delicious, and the staff is very helpful, for example, in choosing what to share. Eight of us came in without a reservation, and even though there was actually no room, they arranged a table on the terrace especially for us. Truly excellent service and a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good wine and good company! 🍷

Great service, cozy atmosphere and delicious wines.

I have been at Shiraz several times and especially prefer the outside seating. Decent wine bar with a seriously extensive wine menu. The only issue of this place is that inside is packed on weekends. If you wish to chat, you have to shout to hear each other.

The wine and atmosphere were good, the food and service were not good. The wine and ambiance were good, but the food and service were not. For example, the main course was brought while we were still having our appetizers.

Yesterday, we spontaneously visited this very nice wine bar and were lucky enough to get a table right on the canal. It was simply a dream: the food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service... Highly recommended for a little break in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

The wine cellar is excellent. The restaurant holds a single Gault Millau rosette. For the entree, I had buratta served with Mediterranean greens, beets, and oranges. The cheese croquettes with mustard sauce were excellent. The melanzane was excellent. The spare ribs and Indonesian stew were also excellent.

For me, this is one of the most beautiful wine bars in Amsterdam. Although located in the heart of the city, it's very quiet and idyllic on a canal. Space is limited, but that also makes it feel particularly cozy. The service is friendly. There's a fantastic wine list where everyone should find something to their taste. There's also a small menu that fits well with the concept. There's always something going on here.

We found the kitchen to be very successful. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The appetizer called melanzane was the most amazing. You will be pleased with everything you consider ordering here. We liked everything we tried. The staff was fast and friendly. The prices were average. We definitely recommend it.

Extremely rude service. I came by myself and just went to sit at a table because no one really addressed me. A waiter then came to me not even asking me what I wanted to drink or if I wanted to eat something but asking how many people I was. When I said one person, they got al awkward and an older lady - I assume the owner intervened. She was obviously Dutch and I had heard her speaking Dutch before but for some reason she spoke English to me and said I was sitting at a table for four people (the only other available seats were at the bar and I wanted to sit down comfortably and just have some food for like 30 minutes). I politely replied in Dutch that I spoke Dutch. She then said I rather rudely that I would have to move to the bar if a group of four entered, even if the table next to me was still free as well and still had six available seats (but they were high seats). I replied in Dutch that that was a bit odd but fine, she didn’t seem satisfied with my reply - as if she wanted me to move now - and said the same thing again in English. I then said again that I spoke Dutch so to please address me in Dutch and she replied again in English. I got up and left and she said I should have waited for them to sit me down in the first place even if no one came op to me so I went to sit down. Sorry hoor. I’m sure they’ll reply below here and twist the story completely while I just was a client making the mistake of going to a bar by myself treated rudely simple because I was by myself.

Ridiculously busy. We went on friday evening, two ladies to have a glass or two. There was a huge queue outside as if they were giving free drinks. And we want to put our names on the waiting list. The waiter said there is no point... Unbelievable, these people are so spoiled that they don't care anymore about customer, service, and quality, as they are paid anyway no matter what they sell. We miss old Amsterdam. These types of places should disappear.

Food was good. Excellent cheese platter, bruschetta ok not really our style, wines were very good, had the cabernet sangiovese and the malbec and the chocolate which was good. Service got worse as the evening progressed and ruined it for us.

The atmosphere inside is very nice, the music is great. If the weather is good you can also sit outside. The wine list is very good. We had a cheese plate and pasta with truffle sauce, it was very good.

Italian in Holland: excellent place for dates and romantic dinners; it is intimate and with soft lighting. Very cute and aesthetic! The place offers a wide selection of interesting wines and the service is excellent (they bring water by default) :) Nothing to say… I highly recommend it!

The tent looks nice and has a nice atmosphere. But service is very inattentive, it took a long time before we were noticed for a table, it took a long time before our order was taken (a friend was even ignored). Then we both get a dirty glass. One so dirty that we walked to the bar for a new one, which was cleaner but still dirty. The toilet was downright gross, which couldn't have come from the last few guests so it had to be that way all evening. The music changed every few minutes, in the middle of songs. That also went from rock, but The Youth of Today to Spanish vibes, all mixed up and always interrupted and very loud. The wine was fine, but pricey. Very unfortunate for a tent that otherwise looks so nice.

Fantastic spot on a canal with a lot of wine options. Servers ready to answer any questions or let you try a qube before ordering it. Food was also fantastic. Every dish was delicious.

Great place to start the night or spend the whole evening. The wine selection is perfect. Every bottle tastes good and the food matches perfectly with the wine. The place is a bit packed and loud but I guess it is the price of the success. All the waiters are nice and friendly.
