Enjoy a lovely quiet terrace located along the walking area. No hassle from screaming children as they have their own playground further on the grounds complete with bouncy castle, water fun and much more. Dogs are welcome and get a nice cool bowl of water and a candy as a treat. Nice large parking lot so always room to park. Our recommendation on the menu: "the 12 o'clock" consisting of home-made bread topped with ham, cheese and some greens, (the flour for this bread is still milled in an artisanal way in the water mill next to the terrace), soup & a croquette. Prices are also friendly!

Great surroundings, nice terrace with a view of the greenery. The food: the salad with goat cheese was great, fresh and plentiful. The bread is crispy and juicy. The baked farmer's schnitzel was only lukewarm and seemed warmed up. French fries and side salad delicious. Waiter rather inattentive. We were there on a Monday at 12pm.

It's always nice to sit on the restaurant's large terrace after a walk and feel comfortable. The service is friendly. The goulash soup is highly recommended.

A pleasant meeting point for a delicious meal and it is centrally located for many walking and cycling routes. We have already taken a covered wagon tour with a BBQ afterwards, which is highly recommended.

We passed by here while out walking with our dog. We received a warm welcome. Nice, quiet location and atmosphere.

I was there with my wife to try the 3-course menu/special offer (€33 per person). The croquette starter wasn't that good, but the tomato soup was better. The farmer's schnitzel (despite the special offer, it still came with a €1.50 surcharge) was rather below average. Dessert (mini chocolate tarts with ice cream and whipped cream) was very tasty. My wife's chocolate sauce ice cream was also rather average, and the service was so-so; no one showed up for ages, and we had to wait longer even though it wasn't that busy. Conclusion: - I wouldn't recommend the 3-course menu (I'd rather just order the main course and dessert separately). - Service too slow, barely existent. - Overall, average, and the value for money would be more like 2/5 stars, but since it was only dinner and there might be better options here at other times of day, I'd give it 4 instead of 3/5 stars.

Very nice place in a beautiful area. Delicious food and nice service. What I found very disturbing was that it was very noisy inside. So many poorly fed dogs, people talking so loudly. It will be better on the terrace in the summer Cyclists and walkers. Stop for a cup of coffee here...

Ate here for Christmas, too bad there is no option for people with a lactose allergy... everything was very tasty, the meat was very tender but just a little too cold, too bad there was not enough sauce on the steak, but that didn't make it taste any less, the fries were not very warm and the salad lacked some sauce, the soup was super tasty and the carpaccio was thinly sliced ​​and well topped. Everything was nicely decorated, it was very clean and the staff is super friendly! 🤗

Had a super cozy and delicious lunch with my fellow athletes. A warm welcome by the owner with his wife and sons. All praise also for the kitchen brigade and the service. Beautiful, well-prepared portions. Will definitely come back. Also recommended for e.g. family days/vacations: beautiful walking area, covered wagon rides, playground, restaurant, pancake house, nice shop and possibly overnight stay at Gitstapperhof. Enjoy Burgundian in the middle of nature!!

I can only agree with the last recession. Everything's good, but you shouldn't order a schnitzel. Overpriced ready-made mush that is worse than in any snack bar. I also asked the waiter beforehand whether the schnitzel was a finished product or a freshly prepared schnitzel. The ambience is really excellent.

Super mooie locatie, heel vriendelijk personeel, attent en behulpzaam. Heerlijke stoelen, ruime plaatsen , aangename temperatuur. Zeldzaam lekker gegeten, elk gerecht werd overtroffen door het volgende gerecht. Lange tijd niet zo lekker en ontspannen gegeten. Hulde aan de kok, en hulde aan het personeel. .dank we komen deze vakantieweek nog een keer.

My mother and I ate a farmer's schnitzel there last Saturday. The schnitzel was a ready-made product that was only fried on one side and the breading stuck to the plate. The grilled vegetables consisted of two small slices of zucchini and two equally large pieces of pepper. The ambience made a good impression on us, but the food left no impression at all. Rarely eaten so badly, a shame for the money!

What a wonderfully nice place on the river in a wooded area! A clear menu of common dishes and an excellent choice of Limburg beers, including their own weizen. Staff very friendly and helpful, tasty food and a nice terrace and indoor space (possibly with air conditioning) to enjoy at your leisure!

Have often stopped there after walks around the Effelder Forest Lake. Always have delicious kirschvlaai and other cakes, but also warm food. Well visited.

A nice meal for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. Reserved in advance. Too bad it wasn't spring weather yet because I would have liked to walk around the grounds.

The only drawback is that there is NO German-language menu, which is a shame.

Quaint restaurant at the Gitstapper Mühle with lots of outdoor seating in summer. Small, simple selection of food, typically Dutch. I find it very comfortable there.

Had a nice lunch with my husband yesterday, a healthy sandwich and a 12-hour break with a delicious mushroom soup. Very nice location, cozy on the edge of the forest. Friendly staff. Definitely worth repeating, see you soon.

Unfortunately, it is absolutely not possible to make adjustments to dishes, so that a 12-hour meal becomes vegetarian or an extravaganza but without ham (it was very complicated to leave out the ham) with fried mushrooms (totally not possible, even though they are present on the map). Furthermore, in addition to the vegetarian croquettes and the vegetarian burger, there was also a goat's cheese salad on the menu. A salad that no vegetarian wants, because it is offered everywhere as vegetarian and, just like caprese, it suits every vegetarian. In addition, this shows how little inventive the kitchen is (or wants to be).

Helaas is het absoluut niet mogelijk om aanpassingen aan gerechten te doen, zodat een 12-uurtje vegetarisch wordt of een uitsmijter maar dan zonder ham (was erg ingewikkeld om de ham weg te laten) met gebakken champignons (totaal niet mogelijk, ookal zijn die wel aanwezig op de kaart). Verder was er ook op de kaart naast de vega kroketten en de vegaburger een salade geitenkaas. Een salade waar geen enkele vegetariër op zit te wachten, daar dit overal al als vegetarisch wordt aangeboden en net als caprese ieder vegetariër de neus uitkomt. Daarnaast laten dit zien hoe weinig inventief de keuken is (of wil zijn). En dan te bedenken dat we al wat erbij de wijn deden door vegetarisch en niet vegan te eten.

We have visited this restaurant several times this year as a stopover on our bike tours. The staff speaks German and is very friendly. We regularly ordered various baguettes and soups. We always enjoyed all the baguettes and soups. The portions also fill you up well. The baguttes were very fresh and had plenty of toppings. The eye also ate here ;) The terrace is beautifully surrounded by greenery and you like to sit here longer.

We ate there again today and have to say that we think it's great there. The price/performance ratio is very fair and the food tastes absolutely great. We like to come back again and again.

Typisch holländische Küche, die Bedienung war freundlich, hätte aber gerne ein wenig öfter vorbeischauen können (ok, es war voll, aber dann muss mehr Personal auf Abruf stehen). Man sitzt sehr schön außen auf der Terrasse.

Sehr schönes, geschmackvolles Ambiente. Das Frühstücksangebot ist hervorragend - selbst gemachte Marmelade, selbst gebackenes Mühlenbrot. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auf der gemütlichen Terrasse sitzen. Sehr freundliche Inhaber. Ein Aufenthalt hier ist wie ein kleiner Holland-Urlaub.

Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich. Kaffee und Kuchen war lecker. Immer wieder, preislich absolut OK. Kann man empfehlen.
