It is a nice little place, with friendly service. It takes a bit of getting used to entering. You enter through the side, the "hotel section." Where we sat was a sofa, but for dining, the section could be a bit higher. But that is a personal experience. But all in all, worth a visit.

Excellent service – very attentive staff – the food was outstanding – pleasant atmosphere. Because it was so good, we booked again right away.

We had a truly wonderful evening at Restaurant Bij Kogerstaete. The food was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great attention to detail. Every course was a delight. The Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon deserves special mention. The red wine was excellent and paired perfectly with the homemade Texel lamb stew – a very successful combination that we can wholeheartedly recommend. To finish, we treated ourselves to a Texel Jutter parfait, which rounded off the evening beautifully with its unique flavor. We were equally impressed by the attentive and warm service. At all times, we felt truly welcome and valued as guests. The entire team was friendly and professional, and their attentiveness and warmth created a very pleasant atmosphere. The stylish and cozy ambiance also contributed significantly to the overall positive impression. For us, Bij Kogerstaete is clearly the best restaurant on Texel. A thoroughly impressive experience that clearly stands out from many other restaurant visits. We will definitely return on our next visit. Highly recommended!

From start to finish, a great experience!! Everyone is super nice and attentive to everything, no empty glasses, empty plates were gone in no time, truly top-notch! But the most important thing in a restaurant, the food... That too, exquisite! The flavors were just right, the combinations were good, portions just right! I can recommend it to everyone!

We received a very warm welcome on May 22nd and had a delicious meal here! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. And we were given a quiet spot, which our puppy especially appreciated. The location is also great. All in all, we will definitely come back here when we are on Texel again!

Had a delicious meat fondue, which was excellently arranged with plenty of everything. Unfortunately, there was no piece of baguette with it, which would have been nice. The service was fine, but it's a shame that there were three waitstaff walking around asking if everything was to our liking roughly every few minutes (sometimes twice in the same minute 😂); that could be a bit less.

A beautifully decorated restaurant. We sat in the conservatory. The welcome was very friendly, and it remained so throughout the evening. The service was first-class. Not too intrusive, but always attentive and with a good sense of humor. The food was equally impressive. You have to eat here when you visit Texel. The food is incredible. We both had the texel lamb which was grilled perfectly. We had started with the brushetta and finished with the lava cake. All of the dishes were tasty and served with care. The service was just right and the timing was just right. Make sure you reserve. We were in the low season and got the last place at 19:30 but I can imagine during high season you need to book ahead

What a wonderful evening we had! A warm welcome. Salmon and carpaccio had never been so tender, the stews were so delicious, and the side dishes were also given the utmost attention. Portions were actually too large, but too delicious not to finish. Island produce, including the parfait with a Juttertje. Naturally, accompanied by Texel beers. A family that takes pride and passion in their business, and it shows in everything. Hospitable throughout. We arrived on Friday evening, February 13th, and as if it were meant to be, Friday the 13th tried to throw a wrench in the works: a power outage. But as it goes on an island, the son of the house knew an electrician friend who was busy working in the meter cupboard, so hot dishes couldn't be guaranteed. Luckily, the bubbly was cold, so we had a nice bottle on the table and started with a cold appetizer. The lights went on and off a few times, but hey, it's all for the atmosphere and the experience. Thankfully, the kitchen restarted, and our main course arrived, delicious. More bubbly and an Esma, plus dessert. It was a more than successful evening with wonderful staff. If you're on Texel, don't miss this restaurant.

Sooooo friends.... Unbelievable but true... 5* + "Bij Kogerstate" has managed to be the first restaurant in the Netherlands to completely win me over... It starts with the decor and ambiance... You immediately feel at home here... Top... The warm and welcoming reception from the staff... Top... And as we all know, Dutch cuisine isn't exactly known for its creativity... But here, I take my hat off to them... Here, a chef who understands and loves their craft works... The dishes are freshly prepared and, above all, and I find this particularly special for a Dutch restaurant, perfectly seasoned and thoughtfully prepared!!!! Everything tasted absolutely delicious... The staff were very knowledgeable about their wine selection!!! The quality of the various wines... Top But what ultimately convinced me completely? The value for money... Top I don't think I'll be able to eat this well again in the Netherlands anytime soon... Many thanks to the entire team!!!

After 15 visits to our favorite island, we dined here for the first time. (And certainly not the last!) We received a very friendly welcome and excellent service from a highly motivated young man. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and served with care. One minor drawback was that the side dishes (fries and salad) weren't served until we had almost finished our delicious main course of fish. However, this is no reason for us not to return. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the restaurant and its food.

We ate at the hotel restaurant three times during our week-long stay and were very satisfied each time. Attentive service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere.

Not recommended – unfortunately. We were there in a mixed group. The food was good. The service was not okay. Other reviews describe it as friendly, but the staff were constantly grinning overly and scurrying about. Unfortunately, we waited longer than expected for our second glass of wine, our cola, and even our water in a restaurant like this. We even had to ask for them twice. The tables were cleared prematurely, and they even started cleaning with a mop while we were still deciding whether to have dessert. That put an end to that. Extremely unpleasant! Then they weren't even able to split the bill (they said it was 1980s style), and we had to calculate it ourselves. What a waste of tip! We would have received more if the bill had been split.
