We came here to celebrate our birthdays as a group of seven Uyghur girls, and we had such a wonderful time! 🎉 The restaurant has a beautiful, modern atmosphere, the service was warm and welcoming, and everything we ordered was delicious. This place is well worth the visit. We were seated quickly and given a full table spread of bread, spreads and olives. When we ordered starters, they were delivered quickly and were very tasty. We all ordered steaks of some form and they were truly excellent. Juicy lamb tenderloins and perfect ribeyes across the table, with quick and reliable service. The restaurant is well lit and tastefully decorated. The food is delicious and plentiful, and the staff are pleasant and genuine. Absolutely wonderful place. I would recommend it to anyone in the area. Photo was a complimentary mousse we all got given at the end of our meal.

We had a truly wonderful evening at Black Olive! Great atmosphere, super friendly and attentive service – without being at all intrusive. The food was top-notch, delicious, and perfectly seasoned. A bit pricey, but absolutely justified by the quality. We especially appreciated the complimentary bread with dips and olives, as well as the sweet treat from the kitchen. These little touches really make all the difference. 😊 And the Aperol glasses were a real highlight! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening – we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

What a great discovery. The tastiest lamb I have ever eaten in the Netherlands. I already thought the lamb chops I had ordered were heavenly, until I tasted the lamb shoulder someone else had ordered. The meat was so tender that it fell right off the bone and had a delicious flavor. Their local beer was also tasty and different from the usual draft beer you get in restaurants. The black decor gives the place a luxurious feel. I will definitely be back for more.

My father and I ate at Black Olives and we were absolutely thrilled! We shared the lamb shoulder and it was simply outstanding – tender, perfectly seasoned, and highly recommended. Visited here this evening with a group of friends while exploring the main city of Amsterdam. Looked up on Google for Gluten friendly places, as one of my members is Gluten intolerant, so she needs to be careful of what she eats. What an absolutely lovely experience! All of the staff were kind and super helpful, and the food itself was absolutely delicious (I had the chicken thighs) and one of the best meals I have had so far in the city. I will say, it’s a little expensive but you absolutely get your money’s worth!! Also, we got free bread, bottle of water and homemade chocolate mousse which really made our evenings. Wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff and chefs for a fabulous night, and I will make sure to visit again when next in the area! ❤️🙂‍↕️

We were lucky enough to have a hotel by this restaurant so we went for dinner. The food was absolutely incredible. We travel the world a lot and this was by far the best meal we have ever had outside the states where we live. The waiter Jairo was fabulous, very gracious and nice. We’re only here one more night and may have to go again tomorrow as I told my wife this will be the best meal we will have in Europe and we’re here another 2 weeks. Outstanding restaurant!

What a wonderful experience at this restaurant on Markenplein. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail and the food was truly fantastic. The quality of the meat on the plate stood out immediately; the perfectly grilled lamb chops, in particular, were a highlight. We dined here with a group of ex-colleagues and what a fantastic experience! Black Olive has an incredibly nice ambiance and a level of customer friendliness that you rarely see these days. The service was quick, incredibly hospitable, and truly nothing was too much trouble for them. We started with the mezzes for the group. These were deliciously varied and incredibly flavorful. Because I love mercimek (lentil soup) so much myself and indicated that I wanted to try it, we were given a small bowl 'on the house' for free. Absolutely delicious! The other two in the group who had hesitated regretted not ordering it themselves, so naturally, I dutifully shared. I really love it and eat it myself at least twice a week. The main courses were also perfectly seasoned, and the price-quality ratio here is simply very good. To finish, two of us had a dame blanche, after which the rest of the group was surprised with delicious baklava on the house. Those kinds of thoughtful gestures make all the difference. After dinner, we stayed for quite a while chatting pleasantly, and fortunately, that was perfectly possible here without feeling like you were being stared at. Finally, an important plus point: the toilets were spotlessly clean. Highly recommended and well worth a solid 5 stars. I will 100% certainly go back here again!

Plenty of gluten free options! The food was fantastic! The veggies were roasted to perfection the Lamb tenderloin was tender, the rice was delicious! To start they brought gluten free bread with an aioli and olives that was very tasty! And we finished the meal with a melt in your mouth chocolate mousse!

This is a lovely restaurant that my wife and I added to our favorites for dinner during our Amsterdam vacation. We went without a reservation and managed to get a table around 6 pm. The design and atmosphere of the place were very nice. We ordered lentil soup, tzatziki, and mixed kebab. The soup was incredibly good, on par with many good places in Istanbul. The lamb skewers, chicken, and meatballs in the mixed kebab were also delicious. Even the künefe (a type of Turkish dessert) we ordered was excellent. We were very satisfied with the food and service, and we plan to visit again 🙂

We originally had reservations at the sister restaurant to this, but they closed due to the heat wave. A person who I believe was the owner met us at our reservation time and escorted us the the Black Olive. He apologized for the change but accommodated us quickly. Our entire experience was positive and very tasty from the appetizers through dessert. The servers were very friendly and attentive. They spoke English quite well. Our meal was delicious and exceeded our expectations. I only wish this restaurant, the Black Olive, was located closer to our home in the USA. I highly recommend this restaurant.
