My wife and I had a delicious meal this afternoon. Stunningly beautiful spot, everything was good, schnitzel and spare ribs top notch.

After a delicious welcome drink and tasty appetizers, we enjoyed a very good dinner of spare ribs, salad with burrata, and the house hamburger. The service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended, especially for the waterfront location.

We had a delicious meal outside on the terrace. Despite the crowds, the food was served quickly. The waitresses are very friendly and find a spot for everyone. Additionally, the view over the water is really cool.

The food was very tasty, but the pancake felt too thick to me. But, is it self-service here? What? Is this a matter of laziness? Because if you don't have a menu, they won't come to you. Very strange. Anyway. The atmosphere is good, because you can't get any closer to the Frisian lakes. Overall pretty good.

The food was mediocre for a restaurant. I had marinated mushrooms with tzatziki. It tasted okay, but that was about it. The mushrooms looked like they came from a jar; maybe that wasn't the case, but that's how it came across. The tzatziki was tasteless. I had the fish salad as a main course. The taste was good at first, but the tuna salad was floating in the Asian dressing, and by the end, the entire salad was excessively submerged in this dressing. I told the wait staff that the starter was very disappointing. Perhaps out of shock, she didn't ask how the main course was. It is also a real shame that you cannot get tap water with your glass of wine.

Great restaurant for lunch and dinner. Really tasty food, and plenty of it too. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap of course, but that is to be expected given the quality. That is top-notch. Polite and efficient service as well. The fish salad is highly recommended. It was delicious.

The location by the water is very nice, the food was okay, the fries could have been a bit crispier, overall we were satisfied.

We were a group of six and were able to reserve a table at short notice. It's worth noting that reservations are usually only accepted for tables inside the restaurant. After placing our order, we expected a longer wait due to the restaurant's popularity. We were pleasantly surprised; the order took barely 15 minutes. The food was good. The fried potatoes were definitely tastier than the fries on our visit. The service and staff were friendly.

We found one waitress a bit pushy; we wanted to have a beer first and then order food, and that didn't go down well with this lady, which is a shame. Otherwise, we would certainly have given a higher rating.

Just having a Latte with a glass of water. 4.00 for the Latte and tap water wasn't served. Not good considering I ordered a coffee. Next time I'll go somewhere with proper service. The service was very good, by the way!!

Even though the kitchen was closed, we still received two salads. The server offered them to us proactively. Excellent and very friendly service.

We wanted to eat here and one of us really wanted the vegetarian croquettes after 5:00 PM, but that wasn't possible because that is only for lunch, so until 5:00 PM and not after! Poor service to stick to the rules like that; apparently they don't want to make money and they aren't thinking along with the customer either. That is not how you run a restaurant, very poor service!

"That's good" was the final term used by a pedantic male who shouted at my wife and me from the water not to place bicycles on the path while we were looking for a terrace for a drink. It was done in an urgent and commanding manner. It concerned the path to the establishment. Apparently, we were dealing with the doorman there. The decision to skip his terrace was made quickly. It is the tone that makes the music. Kudos to the owner: watch your staff.

Nice terrace by the water and very friendly service, but I found the food substandard, very ordinary, and very meager. The mustard soup tasted fine, but the fried mushrooms were unimaginative and bland. A piece of fine but simply prepared cod fillet with a few strips of grilled bell pepper and onion. As a side dish, a small bowl of fries and a little bit of salad for two people. Really too expensive for what you get; I don't understand the high reviews for the quality of the food. There is a cafeteria right next to the restaurant; I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Lovely terrace right in the charming center of Heeg, by the water. Always bustling with the many guests arriving from rental boats or bicycles. Nice heaters.

The spareribs and stew were fine, but the eel was completely tasteless. What was really a shame, and as far as I'm concerned the height of inhospitability, was that we weren't allowed to get tap water alongside our drinks. It is disappointing that management makes this decision and that the nice staff have to bear the brunt...!

Great place, and it's even open after 9 pm. What more could you want?

The food was simply poorly prepared. Dried-out cucumber slices on the salad, watered-down salad dressing, the ice cream scoop in the dessert was so hard (because it was pre-portioned and frozen) that it was inedible, and all the dips were mass-produced. A real shame.

The food was absolutely delicious, we loved the atmosphere, and the service was excellent. We shared the mustard soup as a starter; it was divine. Highly recommended!

A 0.5l draft beer for 7 euros? And a Wiener schnitzel of dubious quality for 21? That'll drive people away for good... Burgers and beer are good! 🍻

We dined with our family. The service was very friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially because the sauces were homemade. For dessert, we had a chocolate cake with a soft center. The restaurant is located in the quiet town of Heeg and has a lovely atmosphere. Thank you very much.

We had a lovely meal here with my sister and brother-in-law for our 35th wedding anniversary. The satay, farmer's schnitzel, and Beppe’s stew were delicious, and the service was polite and friendly, including drinks and dessert, all for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back. We ate here tonight. We were passing through on our boat. We didn't feel like cooking, so we looked for a restaurant. The service was quick, the food was good, the customer service was excellent, and it was pleasantly busy on a Monday evening. The service was excellent, and quality is our priority. Definitely worth repeating.👍👍

Nice terrace, too bad you can't get a glass of water with your coffee. You can only order a Spa Red or something. Why no glass of tap water??

Great little restaurant on the canal. We enjoyed a club sandwich and a Caesar salad for lunch. Both were delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you're in Heeg. A lovely location.

"Was everything to your liking, sir?" - No "Good." - Excuse me? I said no. "I didn't hear you." This was the reaction when I got the bill. It illustrates the rest, so to speak. Not the most atmospheric restaurant, despite the location. The food is also best left untouched. The mushroom appetizer was subpar. The main course (burger) was served on a cold bun with what looked like a steak knife, but it was blurry. The constantly open door was an annoyance due to the incoming cold. Advice: buy a door closer.

We were here in September 2025 and had reserved a table. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a beautiful location by the water and is cozy. The food arrived relatively quickly. Three of us had the Boerenschnitzel. You had to hunt for the mushrooms, and it was covered in a thick sauce that tasted like instant gravy. None of us would order this dish again. The two portions of fish and chips were okay.

We ate here with a group of 30 colleagues. Everything was served really quickly. Friendly staff and a charming restaurant! Definitely recommended!

A very cozy and beautiful restaurant with a terrace right on the water. Friendly staff and excellent food. The desserts are highly recommended! The kitchen is also open until 10 p.m. during the week. We will be back.

Waterfront terrace: lovely boat watching. Tables along the wall offer excellent shelter from the wind. Lots of different beers on tap. Plenty of waitstaff. Not all Dutch, of course, but that's the case everywhere. The menu is all over the place. My chicken burger was excellent. Downside: only one knife.

We've had several delicious meals! The stew and satay were very tender and flavorful. The desserts were also delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. There's a lovely view of the water, where small boats sail by in the season. We'd love to come back!

The food was very good, but there was a difference in the service provided by the waitresses. One of our waitresses was very kind and calm, while our second waitress was very nagging and decided to hand us a dessert menu without asking after the main course. The food was good, but the service could have been better.

We recently ate here, but we won't be back. The food showed significant cost-cutting. With our main course, we received no vegetables at all and only one small bowl of salad to share. I read in other reviews that this can be ordered separately; it would have been nice if the waitress had pointed this out to us. They served tasteless fries sauce instead of real mayonnaise. The pepper sauce was clearly made with instant powder and water and was lumpy. The salmon was still far too raw, and by the time it went back into the kitchen, it was taking so long that everyone else had already finished their meal. We even had to ask ourselves where it was! The steak, thankfully, was still delicious. The dessert, "Amazing Stroopwafel," at €8.50, wasn't much to write home about: a factory-made microwaved stroopwafel with two scoops of ice cream and weak whipped cream from a can. That's simply not acceptable for that price. The service was very chaotic: we were forgotten when taking our order and had to repeatedly approach the staff. Throughout the evening, we literally had five different waiters/waitresses, some of whom barely spoke Dutch. We weren't even asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. The atmosphere was further disrupted by a very noisy crowd and several dogs in the small restaurant area. While the restaurant can't really do anything about this, it didn't make the evening any more enjoyable. All in all, you can taste and feel that they've made significant cuts, especially when it comes to the ingredients.

The food quality has unfortunately deteriorated in recent years. The service is good and friendly. The restaurant, with its waterfront terrace, is perfectly situated. It attracts a lot of attention when the boats pass by.

What a lovely place to eat! We had lunch here by the water. Friendly, efficient ladies who did a fantastic job despite the crowds. It was fun to watch all the boats go by while eating. And the food was absolutely delicious (the latte macchiato was even very good!).

We had fish and chips for lunch. The fish was dry and dark brown, clearly re-fried. Probably leftover from yesterday. Or old oil. Something like that should never have left the kitchen. When we paid, we weren't asked if everything was to our liking, so we just left.

The menu isn't that extensive, but it's right on the water. You can dock your boat right there. The staff is friendly. The food is plentiful. Perhaps a bit overpriced.

Mediocre espresso, glass of tap water refused to be served with the espresso - only Spa Blauw in a bottle possible... Apple pie was frozen. Nice cookie though! Heeg remains a nice place, but better choose another terrace.

Portions eaten here were small. Fries and salad could be ordered, we did but never came. Food is what you can expect from an average cafe. Bad or non-Dutch speaking service, plates were just taken away.
