Restaurant De Baron in Nijkerk-stad

The people who manage the restaurant are totally incompetent. The restaurant was empty and they insisted that I need a reservation. I had to come back later. I asked why and she told me because her list says so! What a great service!

Lots of negative reviews, but we didn't experience that at all. The quality is simply good, and that, combined with excellent customer service, makes for a successful lunch!

The menu is rather limited, with very few choices, which becomes tiresome during a longer stay. The restaurant boasts gastronomic ambitions, but the quality and generosity are lacking. The plates are sparsely filled, and the overall presentation lacks finesse. It would be better to focus on well-executed simplicity rather than trying to create "haute cuisine" without mastering its principles. The service seems inconsistent and sometimes gives the impression of being treated arbitrarily. In short, a disappointing experience. I do not recommend this establishment in its current state.

It was very quiet, the tomato soup wasn't that good, it was very plain. We had the double lady tornadoes, but for that price, the plate was quite empty, which was very disappointing. It could have used more vegetables and fries. The cheesecake was really delicious, though.

We came for lunch. The staff is unsupervised and prioritizes chatting with each other over serving guests. I heard several guests say it takes a long time. We left and prefer to spend our money at restaurants where people receive a warm welcome.

Overpriced for small portions. We ordered fries separately, and they arrived long after we'd finished. One dessert was ruined in the kitchen. The waitress asked to try it, and we paid the full price. When we went to pay, no one was around for a long time. We had to be at a wedding on time, the reason for our visit. We went into the kitchen twice to ask if we could pay. There were other tables with the same food. Very disappointing! The photo is of the surf and turf main course for €29.50.

Had Christmas brunch, and for the price you paid, it was: A: too little B: hasty service C: limited selection D: the taste was good. In short, not worth repeating.

The food (main course) was fine. Dessert was very meager. Service was poor. We only had one drink. We had to ask for coffee after the meal and were given tea with brown mint leaves and coffee without coffee, just milk. Too bad, we won't be back.
