Marek made our family dinner extra special. Mother's 88th birthday was fantastic. Thank you, Marek! This was our dinner in Noord. The food was delicious. I've read other stories, but here in Noord, it was superb. The tournedos was buttery tender, the spareribs were delicious, the steak strips with vegetables were superb, the salmon was excellent, and the satay was always good.

A nice evening out with my son. First a nice meal, then to the movies.

2 coffees and 2 cakes. Waited 45 minutes for the cake and heard "yes, it'll be right over" 10 times, but no one actually arranged it.

The satay was a bit weaker for a while, but is back up to par. Pork tenderloin is seasoned slightly better than the chicken. The sauce also has a nice kick to it. The dessert trio is also highly recommended. Good for sharing, too. The staff is friendly and quick. It is an accessible restaurant for families with children as well. Do expect a pub-style atmosphere, though.

We ordered a hot chocolate for our 6-year-old child, but he was served an iced coffee instead. This is a serious mistake, especially when the drink is intended for a young child. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we were still charged €6 for the drink despite the mistake. Very disappointing experience.

Very beautiful, atmospheric restaurant. I had a high tea voucher from Kruidvat (buy one get one free) for €27.50. The high tea was tasty, BUT without the voucher I would have been disappointed with the price, because relatively speaking, you get quite little. The savory items, in particular, are very meager. Other items on the menu and what I saw other guests eating also looked delicious, so I would definitely go back for the other meals.

Having had a bad experience at De Beren Amsterdam-Noord about 7 years ago, we decided to give it another try after all those years. We went to the cinema next door and thought: let's give it another go. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be a good choice in hindsight. What surprised us most: we were back outside within 40 minutes. In that time, we were served bread, a starter, and a main course. Everything happened so incredibly fast that there was absolutely no question of a relaxed dinner or any sense of experience. When our starter was taken away, literally less than a minute later we asked if the main course could perhaps wait a bit, because everything was coming so fast one after the other. We were told that by then it was already too late for that. And indeed: within about 5 minutes the main course was on the table. We ended up eating it reluctantly, even though we were actually still incredibly full. We were not enthusiastic about the food itself either. The carpaccio was very watery and supposed to contain bacon bits, but we couldn't find any. The main course was okay in itself, but because it came so soon after the starter and we were still full, we unfortunately weren't able to enjoy it. What I also found really disappointing: during the main course, we weren't even asked if we wanted anything to drink. Especially with a spicy dish, you expect that to receive a moment of attention. After 7 years, we thought: maybe things have improved by now. Unfortunately, we experienced the exact opposite. We have never experienced being back outside within 40 minutes after a starter and main course. For us, dining out isn't just about putting food on the table, but also about service, attention, and a bit of an experience. Unfortunately, we completely missed that here. A major disappointment, and unfortunately, no third attempt for us.

Marek the waiter was very nice and interested in his customers. But the satay and the sauce were extremely overcooked. Burnt, you could say. Now, there wasn't time to check that at all because of a movie visit immediately afterwards. But it really wasn't the good quality we normally always experience at De Beeren. We got the impression that it had been reheated a second time, because that is when you get this overcooked taste. Marek the waiter made up for a lot :-)

Although the place was at most 40% full, it took an enormous amount of time every time for someone to come to the table, both for taking the order and for service in between. With this occupancy, the pace of service really should be much faster.

The staff is very helpful, and we are always charmed by Vincent, who goes the extra mile and is also very customer-friendly. A minor drawback is that sometimes there is staff who only speak English, making communication not always easy.

I had a high tea for two and an allergy was taken into account very well. The food was exquisite and more than enough. The service was very friendly. We will definitely come back for dinner; we have been there before and that was delicious too.

I made a high tea reservation for 3 people for my birthday. The service was very friendly. All the snacks were delicious. After our visit to the cinema, we went back for mocktails, where we received detailed explanations and tips from the lovely Mark. To top it all off, I was surprised by the sweet Vincent with a party fountain. We will definitely be back soon. Tips: From Thursday to Saturday, there is Happy Hour from 3 to 5 pm, and you can eat unlimited satay, including vegetarian options. Check the website.

We had a wonderful meal here. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted incredibly warmly by Lotte. The service was top-notch throughout the entire evening; we truly wanted for nothing! The food was served nice and fast and was prepared perfectly by the chef. Add to that the lovely, cozy atmosphere, and you have a successful evening. We will definitely be back here soon!

Worst experience ever!! The biggest issue was the timing and lack of coordination. The dishes came out completely out of sync: one arrived first, then after 30 minutes most of the others, then a few more, and the last one only showed up after everyone had already finished eating—we ended up canceling it but it came anyway one hour after ordering. Getting service was also extremely difficult. We called multiple waiters and no one came; we had to stand up several times to find someone. When someone finally did come, the tone wasn’t great. For example, when we asked to see the dessert options, the waiter simply said “no” turned his back on us and refused to show the menu, even when we reached for it. We even had to say: please! I really want to have a dessert! Very humiliating. When we commented that many items were sold out and assumed it must be a busy night, he responded: “You can’t come on a Sunday night and expect everything to be available.” It felt more like being told off than being helped. Food was not great either. Dry rice, cold vegetables, fries too oily . But the level of rudeness, delay and disorganisation... No one said “sorry for the delay, sorry for getting your order wrong (that also happened)” or anything at all. I felt like we were a burden to them.

We were told we could not order dessert, and when we asked again, two of the desserts we wanted were unavailable, followed by the remark that you cannot come to a restaurant on a Sunday and expect every menu item to be available. Yet they were also out of the ribeye steak, one of the restaurant's highlighted main dishes, and even the dessert featured on the table poster. These points to poor stock and logistical planning. We were a group of seven, including three children, and were never told that there was a children's area inside the restaurant. To make matters worse, half of our group became ill that night or the following morning. The setting is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but the service completely undermines the experience. The waiter was rude, condescending, and at times downright cynical. We were first told that we could not order dessert. This demonstrates poor inventory and logistical planning. We were a party of seven, including three children, and it was not mentioned anywhere that there was a children's area inside. On top of that, about half of our group got sick that evening or the next morning. The location and atmosphere are beautiful and have a lot of potential, but the service ruins the entire experience. I waited 40 minutes in the restaurant. They only came to bring the menu. Otherwise, I was completely ignored. Couldn't even order drinks!! So we just went to eat somewhere else.

We went as a group with three kids, and the experience was quite frustrating, especially for them. We ordered a kids’ ice cream and it came wrong. Our child is neurodivergent, so this caused significant frustration, and it also took a long time to fix. On top of that, we only discovered there was a play area right before leaving… no one informed us or tried to seat us nearby, which would have made a big difference. Overall, the service felt disorganized. We had to get up multiple times to ask for help, and the dishes arrived very inconsistently (one didn’t even arrive on time). A shame, because the place has potential to be much more family-friendly.

I thought the meal was perfect, nice and varied, it's just a shame that they didn't ask about the soup because neither of us are really fond of tomato soup.

Especially our waiter Marek was such a joy. He really made our visit unforgettable.

At De Beren Noord, you can sit comfortably and enjoy delicious food. I have been going there a few times now for High Tea, which is well prepared and served by them. I also recommend the 4-course dinner. The staff there is friendly, and I feel perfectly at ease. Lotte, in particular, is a friendly lady and always has a smile on her face. We booked through Social Deal. We found the selection to be very limited. But otherwise, the service and atmosphere were good.

I have been several times, and yet it happens quite often that we have to wait a long time before being served, and it takes a long time getting food as well. I have mentioned several times that we have been waiting for a while and that they look into it, but otherwise receive no response. Some of the staff are quite friendly, but the rest of the service is not good. The food is fine. I have been several times and must conclude that you have to wait too long in this restaurant and the service is substandard. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here. It is a shame, because it is a nice restaurant and the food is fine.

What a lovely restaurant and incredibly sweet, skilled, and caring staff. We were assisted by various people, and from the drinks to bringing the food, clearing it, and taking the order, everyone was equally sweet and sincere. We received perfect service here! Due to an error in Kruidvat's system, we arrived at 11:45, but they didn't open until 12:00. However, they handled this perfectly. When we had high tea, we were served in a friendly manner. Definitely recommended.

A fine dining experience and the staff was very helpful and attentive. We were given the table of our choice and it was a nice spot. The atmosphere was very good and quiet enough to have a conversation. The food was also great, but the wait between the starter and the main course of the three-course menu was a bit long, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Yesterday, we had dinner with a group of 9 people at De Beren in Amsterdam-Noord. The food was fine, and the service was friendly. Worth repeating!

The high tea from the Kruidvat promotion was very tasty; I had done this promotion before. Back then we got fresh tea with a strainer, but this time regular Pickwick tea bags, which I secretly thought was a bit of a shame. The staff was friendly, though they could have asked more often if we wanted anything else. It was very quiet inside; probably due to the warm weather, it was still super cozy and relaxed.

I had reserved a high tea. Apparently, something went wrong and they noted down 2 people instead of 3. As a result, we often received 2 of each dish but were still charged for 3 people. The snacks were very small or came straight from the freezer (there was still condensation on them); the soup was lukewarm. We received 4 tea bags: regular tea and green tea. We pointed out several times that it is inconvenient to serve 2 cakes when there were 3 of us. We really didn't get a third one. The rolls looked like they had been cut into thirds (really very small). Definitely not worth repeating. The high tea cost 27.50 p.p. and everything was placed on the table at once. There was no service.

Additionally, there was a large crack in the cola glass. We reported this, but instead of a new cola in a normal glass with ice, we received a smaller glass without cola or ice. That is a shame and could have been resolved in a more customer-friendly way. The location and concept are nice, but there is certainly room for improvement in hospitality and service at this location.

They were busier cleaning their own tables (the same ones 4 times) than the customers. We were sitting in a spot where they could simply see us when they were standing behind the counter, but completely ignored us. We had to wait half an hour before they took our drink orders. And then the food. I had a lot of fries on my plate and my husband had the leftovers. And we didn't get that until after we had been sitting there for almost 2 hours. The second drink also took a long time. And that is what they rely on entirely for their income. And the person who served us kept coming over to apologize. But he didn't do anything else about it. And the dessert. The crème brûlée is supposed to have a crispy layer on top. But they had probably already caramelized it and then put it in the fridge. So bad. So we are definitely not eating here again!!! I never post bad reviews. But this is really terrible.

The service was really bad; we had to wait a long time for the menu. We had the 4-course menu, but the second round came before the first. Twice, one of the dishes didn't arrive, and we had to ask for it ourselves. Drinks were forgotten multiple times. The restaurant closed early (which isn't a problem), so there was only one person taking orders. However, this waiter sat next to his colleague at a table that was already finished, meaning no one else was served and we had to wait a long time to pay. Afterwards, we were treated as if we were some kind of joke. Very disappointing.

Once again, had a great meal at De Beren. Simple menu, but good and tasty food for a reasonable price. A note: the portions are getting smaller and smaller.
