Had lunch with a friend. The restaurant looked neat and clean. The restroom was clean too. The staff was friendly, chatted, and cracked a joke. The food was tasty and the portions sufficient. In short, it was a pleasant afternoon and I will definitely come back.

You create the atmosphere yourself. It is not a fish restaurant; I ordered a tuna steak and was very disappointed, too dry. I asked for drinks 3 times and they didn't come. They can do better.

Cozy atmosphere and the staff are very helpful; despite being very understaffed, they really do their best to give you a nice evening. The food was delicious again as usual, and apart from a few minor things that were resolved very quickly, we had a great evening.

The food was delicious, really tasty. It was just a shame about the presentation; the profiteroles were lying on an old wooden cutting board. It looked awful.

It really is a beautiful place and location by the water... They recently took over the business and are doing their very best despite the tight staffing due to the holidays... They were very friendly and the chefs were also friendly and enthusiastic... We will definitely go back, especially for the satay month in September for €9.95...

We had high tea. It was a bit messy because the table was very full; it might be useful to serve the food on tiered stands, as that would save space.

Good food and a cozy atmosphere

We ordered a lunch special that looked good, but we noticed with the chicken satay with peanut sauce that it had been kept warm for quite a long time. The chicken was quite dry and the croquette wasn't very hot anymore. The rest was good though. So if it were served from the pan faster, this would simply be resolved. The hamburger was very tasty and the club sandwich was also good, it's just a shame that the bread wasn't really fresh. The service was very friendly and the place looks neat and clean.

Had high tea on the terrace today. It was incredibly good. The tea was refilled every time. The snacks for the high tea were very well prepared and very tasty. The staff were incredibly friendly, cheerful, and immediately ready to help even though there were plenty of customers. Very satisfied. High tea here again on August 15th; different but everything was well organized, lots of nice tea. No terrace today due to rain.

The quality of the food is always good at the bears. This location feels more upscale than other bear restaurants.

Uninterested staff. Burnt schnitzels and burnt satay. Strawberry rumble that looked mashed, not a strawberry to be seen on top. Didn't look like the photo at all.

We had a delicious meal and they were very considerate regarding allergies. Fortunately, it was possible to deviate from the standard dishes. There were too few serving staff, which meant there were some long waits.

The food was good, but I was given a spoon with my lunch. I wondered why; at home, I checked the menu again online, and it was supposed to include soup. I didn't get any!

Friendly staff, received excellent service, and a beautiful location. I just find it a shame and simply unpleasant when you are eating outside and people sit next to you to smoke. It affects the taste of the food. You are then inclined to get up and go sit inside, but you also want to sit outside comfortably 🫣. Please offer those who still want to light a cigarette a spot where they won't bother anyone with their smoke. It would also be a bit healthier for the kids 🤗.

The food is good for lunch or dinner.

At first, the waitress was all alone and therefore very busy, but she remained super friendly and did everything with a smile. Fortunately, some staff joined her later. We had a Kruidvat voucher for a high tea for two, and everything was very tasty!

We had a delicious meal at De Beren... the spareribs were tender, tasty, and really plentiful! The steak tips were also delicious, and there was one 3-course menu that we definitely enjoyed too! Highly recommended, and we will be back again...

We had a great meal and the staff was friendly.

We were with a large group, but we received our food at the same time. It was tasty and the staff was very friendly. We did have to wait quite a long time for our food, but we were a group of 15 on a Saturday, so that is understandable.

I have been to this location twice Once with 2 people and the other time with 10 Both times it took a very long time for the food to arrive I also didn't think the food was great Certainly not bad, but nothing to get excited about either I was a chef for 45 years, so I view this with a professional eye Regards, Ruurd (Solexclub Pegalex)

This restaurant should be closed. We ordered lunch and waited an hour for it. The soup was very lukewarm and my carpaccio was served on a piece of bread that had been in the cupboard for at least a week. When paying, there were two ladies standing behind us who hadn't even started their set lunch. They couldn't get past the bread either. Guys, what could be easier than toasting an old piece of bread? Get rid of that cook immediately... not recommended for eating there.

Not a good recommendation for this place. Never go eat there. It's all old junk.

The food tastes good and the staff is very nice. Cons: with the 3-course menu, the pork tenderloin is €3 extra?! Fried potatoes €2?! extra?! A bit strange. And very few potatoes too, which you pay extra for! Also very few vegetables. Why skimp on potatoes and vegetables? The cheapest part of the menu. If you improve this, the 3-course menu would be perfect.

Very beautiful location on the dike.

We had booked high tea and had to wait 40 minutes before we received our tea, which came without sugar. After that, the rest was served; it was quite disappointing – very small bites and certainly not enough, lots of chocolate and sweets. I am glad I only bought one voucher; a second one is definitely not worth it. It is a real shame; we had been really looking forward to it, but they shouldn't do that anymore. Normally the food is just good, but high tea is too ambitious. We arrived with a service dog, and when I entered alone as the first person, I was asked if I wanted to sit inside or outside. When I mentioned the service dog, they immediately said, "Oh, then outside." That is not how it should be; a service dog should never be refused anywhere!

The atmosphere was cozy. The service was really a bit lacking. We ordered bread and it never arrived. The drinks also took a really long time to arrive. And we ordered desserts; we had to wait a minimum of 20 minutes and they brought the wrong item.

We had a lovely time sitting outside, and the High Tea was well taken care of. Excellent!

Smooth service and good food from a nice menu.

Went here for lunch with a Social Deal voucher. The creamy tomato soup was very mediocre. After that, a carpaccio sandwich; it had hardly any flavor. My expectations weren't high. But it doesn't seem like it's supposed to be any tastier if you make it yourself at home. It is a nice place though, with friendly staff.

I went for high tea at De Beren with a friend. We had planned this for lunch at 12:00. The staff was very friendly and we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. It was quiet; I think we were the only people in the restaurant. We were served quickly and there was so much food!! Everything was very tasty. In addition to the snacks, you also got four flavors of tea, so you could drink unlimited tea. We did this using a high tea voucher from Kruidvat. Definitely recommended.

The starter was tasty. It would be nice to get some vegetables with my main course; I had chicken satay and pork tenderloin with seasonal vegetables (what are seasonal vegetables? I didn't see anything I considered vegetables, just peppers). It took half an hour before we could order because we didn't get any menus. Otherwise, the spareribs were tasty and everything was nice and tender. Dessert was also delicious. I hope you can add vegetables to the three-course menu, as I received almost no vegetables.

We had a table for two and really enjoyed our meal. Friendly service and quick enough between the various courses. The atmosphere was relaxed.

Terrible service. We waited 20 minutes just to receive the menus, and only got them after asking a member of staff. After finally placing our order, we had to wait another hour and a half for our food to arrive. When we brought up the long wait, the staff seemed confused and almost offended by our complaint instead of acknowledging the delay. Overall, the service was extremely slow and the experience was very disappointing.

Once again, we had a wonderful time eating, drinking, and sitting. We really love going here with the children, who can play happily both outside and inside. 👍🏽👍🏽

Went yesterday with my husband and a social deal coupon for the 4 courses menu for 25 euro per pers. For this price, I didn't expect much and was proven wrong. The food was nice, and plentiful. They have an extensive cocktailmenu, I can recommend the Kentucky lemonade! The location is gorgeous with a view, free parking and the service was super friendly and professional. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed a high tea. The location was very beautiful and the staff was very friendly. As far as we are concerned, there could have been a few more savory bites, as the savory/sweet ratio was very uneven, causing you to become very full (and even nauseous) at some point due to the sweetness. The macaron, rolls, crème brûlée, and apple crumble (unfortunately without whipped cream) were very tasty, but the mini tom pouce and profiterole with chocolate filling were not as good. All in all, a successful outing. We would love to come back!

The almond biscuits with the coffee were not tasty, and we all thought so. There were 7 of us. Old and burnt. The staff could be visible a bit more often so that we could order a drink more frequently. We really missed that, especially towards the end. Otherwise, everything was fine and perfectly fine.

We were there via a Kruidvat high tea promotion, and the high tea itself was okay—not particularly good, but not bad either. However, you get ripped off right before your eyes. We really wanted a Royal Bliss drink that wasn't listed with the Royal Bliss drinks, but which was used in a mocktail. We therefore asked the waitress if we could take it as a bottle instead of a mocktail (6 euros), just like the other Royal Bliss bottles (3-something); she said this was possible. However, when settling the bill, we were charged 6 euros twice, even though we had simply had the bottle twice. I pointed out that we had asked for this and that the waitress had indicated that it was perfectly fine (moreover, she hadn't indicated that it would still cost 6 euros). The lady at the cash register said she couldn't split that drink from the mocktail on the bill, to which I pointed out that this hadn't been indicated. The waitress was standing right next to me, and when the lady at the cash register asked if she had indicated this, she said she had; so she was lying. After which I couldn't do much except pay. It was the first time I was at this location, and while I initially said I would definitely come back, if only for the location, that is absolutely no longer the case; what terrible service.

Long wait, lukewarm food, asking where the food was, desserts before the main course. Not worth €282. On Tuesday, June 30, we went out to eat with six people: four adults and two children. We ordered the spareribs twice. The first round was warm/lukewarm. Then we ordered a second round. Half of the desserts arrived at the table where food was still sitting. The errand boy couldn't even put the desserts on the table because people were still eating. Then one of the two spareribs arrived. Only then did the other half of the desserts arrive, while one person was still eating spareribs. All the desserts had already been eaten before the other half of the spareribs arrived. The sparerib we were waiting for was standing under the kitchen warming lamp, waiting to be brought to the table. The "excuse" was that the spareribs had been delivered to the wrong table and therefore had to be made "fresh." To remedy the "negative" experience, a free coffee or tea was offered. No thank you, this was our last time at the bears Capelle Zandrak. In short, a long wait for our last time.

Food was okay. Price/quantity not okay. Service, the people who were actually at the table were nice. But when you sit for 1.5 hours and see a member of staff at most 3 times, you feel completely ignored. Very, very bad; then you don't want to serve guests, but are busy with completely different things. A point for improvement.

With this heat, it would have been better to put the sweet/chocolate items on the table a little later. We had indicated we didn't want any fish; they did serve it, but it was resolved super quickly.

Actually a good restaurant, nice atmosphere. The children always want to go there because there are two play areas: inside and outside.

Poor service. After everyone had received their dishes, we had to wait another 45 minutes for one of the children's toasted sandwiches. We asked for this several times, but it was forgotten every time. Additionally, at the beginning of our visit, we were asked once what we wanted to drink. After that, no one looked at our table again. Especially on a day when it was nearly 30 degrees, it is remarkable that we were not asked even once if we wanted anything else to drink. A missed opportunity, because with nine people, they could easily have sold multiple rounds of drinks throughout the afternoon. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, not worth repeating.

We found the service very grumpy. We ordered things and a lot was already gone early in the evening. Then I ordered a salad, but what did I get? Really only LETTUCE AND 3 PIECES of tomatoes and half an egg. It made no sense at all. I could ask if I enjoyed my meal? Well, no. And it was a birthday too. Were they nice? No. Had a nice evening? No. Never again. A shame.

I had a 3-course menu. There were six of us, and we had to wait quite a long time for our food. It was pretty busy, so maybe that's why it took so long. The atmosphere is cozy, though; if the weather permits, go sit outside, I would say.

25/05/2026 The table wasn't ideal for our assistance dog this time, but in the end it went well because no one sat next to us. 2025 We had lunch. Reserved shortly beforehand with the assistance dog. We were allowed to choose our own spot. Received water for the dog. Fried eggs and farmer's omelet were fine and served quickly.

My cousin Jan had his birthday party here. Nice location and the food was fine. Good atmosphere. The service, as far as I'm concerned, fell short in a few areas. They were very friendly, though, but I had to ask for milk several times before it arrived. I also found it a bit too warm inside, but that is just my personal preference. I get hot easily. All in all, highly recommended!

We went out for a nice meal for a friend's birthday. We ordered steak, and after waiting half an hour, we finally got our food. Paid 55 euros for a piece of burnt fat. I am never eating here again! The dessert was also nauseating, yuck. What a waste of the evening…
