We had the 4-course dinner via Social Deal. We received the soup as a starter fairly quickly, followed by the croquettes. But that was all there was. Next, we waited over an hour for the main courses below, about which there is little to complain, except that in my personal opinion, there were a bit too few fries. But fine, someone else would have found it sufficient. So I wouldn't be coming back here anytime soon! Food fine Service fine Waiting for food? Way too long.

A very nice location for De Beren compared to other branches. Real attention has been paid to the atmosphere and decor. The staff is also very well trained, and the service is good. They are also quick with serving and clearing the food. The two-person tables along the bar look a bit uninviting, and the seating space is also quite close together. Otherwise, the food was good, and the portion size was just right. We were just passing through, but if we had stayed in the area, we certainly would have returned to this location.

I regularly meet up with family members here. It is especially convenient because it is located right along the A12, making it easy to reach from various directions. Fast and friendly service. Plenty of choice. The location is naturally less atmospheric, but for us, the combination of the practical location and the price-quality ratio is the deciding factor.

After the musical 40-45 in Barneveld, we thoroughly enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant, De Beren. This time in Veenendaal. We had a main course and dessert. We would love to come back again.

If you want to enjoy a tasty lunch, you have to go to De BEREN. We received a Social Deal voucher and used it there. A very wide selection on the menu, with and without an additional charge. To start, a mustard soup, followed by 2 slices of bread with steak tips, complemented with bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. All of that dressed with a delicious sauce. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. De BEREN, TOP TOP TOP.

Had lunch at De Beren in Veenendaal today... unfortunately, the lady wasn't entirely familiar with the ordering system... my daughter got her soup in 3 minutes and then sat waiting for over half an hour for my order, which never arrived... a lame excuse when paying, and that was all we got. Bizarre how un-customer-friendly problems are resolved.

De Beren restaurant is a very good restaurant. The food was top-notch and delicious. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The people who work there are great, nice, and friendly. A perfect ten for all of you and may God bless you!

I love tender meat and tasty rare or medium steaks and burgers, but the burger I got here was just super raw and cold too. I have seriously never eaten such a bad burger in my life. After seeing the raw, cold meat, I sent the burger back after a few bites. However, I didn't get a new burger because a 'piece' was already missing... Never ever 'De Beren' again!!!

Visited the restaurant on a weekday evening. One of my daughters needs to eat gluten-free; extra attention was paid to this, and they really went the extra mile to find suitable starters and main courses. It was my eldest daughter's birthday, and extra attention was paid to that as well. Very friendly and helpful service! This location is easy to reach, has ample parking, and is situated right next to the A12 near Veenendaal. Reservations are easy to make via their website.

There is a severe shortage of staff, and that pays off in this... I am ordering a tomato soup with cream. What do I get? I take a bite of the soup (the worst and most awful crap I have ever tasted that they call "tomato soup." I asked the waitress what was in the soup... she came back from the kitchen afterwards: sour cream, sir🫣🫣🫣 Sour cream in tomato soup, man oh man, it was inedible.... Cooking cream is okay and perfect, but sour cream, goddamn, inedible, sour soup.. Well, luckily we had some bread with herb butter with it.. Soup went back to the kitchen.. Main course: pork tenderloin with pepper sauce.. For such a highly-rated place!! Worthless and 0.0 flavor to it.. It had been on the grill for a very short time and the rest of the time in the steamer. The meat looked almost boiled instead of grilled.. So this was more than a little bit disappointing.. My wife had the same experience as me.. So she thinks it's disappointing too Fish sticks for the little man (vegan)... Man oh man, better scrap that stinky stuff! "Dad, I don't want that, it stinks," my son says.. 🫣🫣 Dessert: Dame Blanche with warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Luckily, the ice cream comes from the freezer and is already a finished product (so we can't actually mess it up). And the whipped cream from a can or machine. There was nothing wrong with the dessert. Compliments to the waitress who really tried her best, but couldn't get her moving from above. So if they ask me, "Hey, who's going with me to De Beren..." Don't call me.. A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY TO TAKE IT THERE. I dare to say that out loud and I stand behind it; I used to have a BBQ catering company myself, so I really do know what and how to prepare delicious dishes.. With us, a satisfied customer was a good customer. But apparently, they don't care about that here... Could get a cappuccino for that filthy sour soup... I had Something else was suggested, but the manager brushed that off the table.. Deluxe coffee with some tasty treats. I did have to pay extra though, mind you; I'm sitting there with a massive case of heartburn because of that "delicious" soup.... I'm curious how they plan to handle this and I'm always open to new ideas..

Yesterday I tried to discover why De Beren is such a popular chain, while at the same time there are also scathing reviews. The atmosphere and service were fine, but I wasn't very enthusiastic about the food. Tasteless and cold. Unfortunately, this was a one-off for me.

The food was delicious, but the waitresses were more occupied with each other than with their guests (except for one lady who was working hard). They didn't ask if the food was enjoying itself during the meal, and nothing was said when we left either (a shame, because that is the polite thing to do). There were people at the table next to us who were quite noisy; the wait staff could have said something about that, but they didn't do anything because they were only focused on each other.

We had a puzzle tasting here last week (O). It was really fun (something different than just a three-course meal). The only thing we didn't quite get was the second part of the puzzle. But after 35 minutes, after several clues, we got the solution in the app, and we were able to order the main course. It was delicious, and the service was very friendly.

Staff... One person says, "I've only been doing this for a few days." Another is very forgetful. He records things and writes down other meals. That's how it is with several others today! Food. The food itself isn't very good. Meals like carpaccio have too much sauce on them. The rib finger also has a lot of sauce. The crispy chicken was like it had been fried. The braised vegetables were covered in chicken pieces. This dried out the chicken. It's a real shame about the visit to the bears. Next time we'll skip Veenendaal. Sincerely, A.J.T.

Wherever we go to De Beren, it's always excellent. And now, it's back again here in Veenendaal. Cozy interior with seating for various groups. Whether you're coming with 2, 4, or more, there's a suitable arrangement. We saw a social deal for the 2-course menu, and the staff had no problem redeeming it. The service was smooth, friendly, and attentive. For our main course, we chose the carpaccio and brie. Delicious and more than enough to fill our stomachs. Once again, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back.

We popped in here spontaneously with a last-minute social deal 4-course menu. We probably wouldn't have gone for the full price. We didn't think the quality warranted it. But with the substantial discount (a few euros more would have been fine), you really can't go wrong. Everything tasted great, without a single flaw. The gyoza was well-seasoned, the fries crispy. Nothing wrong with that. Plus, the service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is cozy. That also explains the relatively high score for this Berenrestaurant. By far the best of the franchise restaurants I've visited. -update- The only downside is the chatGPT response. This comes from an automated response system that restaurants can buy. Come on, De Beren! You don't have to. Respond authentically or don't respond at all :P

Begging for tips, American-style, when paying with a debit card machine is ridiculous. Here, we have collective labor agreements and decent salaries, and a tip is a nice bonus. Trying to milk that for profit is truly outrageous.

I had lunch at De Beren on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Since I almost always ask for bread without the crust, the female server was quite difficult about it. You can't do that yourself. You can't do that if the bread is already topped with various toppings and an egg. Okay, the server came back with the chef's joke about whether the crust had to be removed from the croquette as well!!! Well, I didn't find this particularly funny, as the atmosphere in the restaurant was already quite unpleasant. The soup was tasteless, the bread was tough, and the coffee was cold. The service was far below par. No more visits to De Beren in Veenendaal or anywhere else for that matter.

I've read a lot of negative reviews about De Beren, but the Veenendaal location is fantastic. The food-to-price ratio is excellent, and it's simply delicious. The staff is super friendly, and we certainly didn't have to wait long for our food.

Made a reservation for two last night. We had a truly delicious meal, and despite the crowds, the service was fast. So my compliments to the staff and the chef, because the bear burger is definitely recommended. Deliciously prepared with good quality beef. The interior also has a lovely, warm atmosphere.

It was a birthday present for my mother. We couldn't get in Ede unless we paid full price, which included the cinema. So I drove to Veenendaal, Beren. I emailed a few weeks in advance. We got the wrong seat, and a man next to us stared at us, which wasn't pleasant during our meal. I asked if I could order a salad, but that was absolutely impossible. The staff was very rushed. The potatoes were dripping with grease. I had a bad stomach ache afterward. You had to pay for everything separately, and you also had to pay a tip. It was a real shame, but the birthday present was kind of ruined this way. I emailed a complaint, but they didn't do anything about it at Beren.

We love coming here because of the play area for the kids. And we've never experienced such terrible service and food quality. I've been working in the ho for years.

We had a lovely meal at De Beren. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the food was delicious! Ample parking is available around the restaurant, and it's also ideally located near the highway. Highly recommended!

Very suitable for children! A great play area where they can have a great time. The food was generally good. The only difference was that the fries were very dry and tasted old. Tip: don't chew gum while being served. Also, don't address guests informally, as not everyone appreciates that.
