Restaurant De Beren Woerden in Wijk 01 Woerden-Midden

We just finished dinner for two. There was a lot of noise from loud guests in the restaurant. After 25 minutes, there was still no staff at our table to order dessert. Then, no staff came to our table to let us pay. We told the cashier we wanted to pay and that we couldn't order dessert. The cashier then said, "Oh, sorry." We weren't compensated, and we weren't given the option of ordering dessert. It wasn't customer-friendly. We'll never have to worry about the bears again.

The food was good, but the promised coffees were sagging, lukewarm and the spoons were forgotten.

We ate here on a weeknight. Our dishes seemed to be lacking in some things. We reported this after we'd finished some of our food. We were given extra fries as compensation. The apple crumble and chocolate tasting made up for a lot.

Very good and creative service!

Only parking was a bit more difficult.

The staff was friendly, but the food was far from good. Dry cheeseburger meat twice as small as the bun very dry. Spare ribs tough and lukewarm. Only received the starter after 1.5 hours and still only 1 drink. Half of the table only had their first drink with their starter. Not to be repeated.

Heerlijk eten en vriendelijke service voor redelijke prijs. Service is wel erg langzaam en je moet lang wachten op eten, en om iets te drinken kunnen bestellen. Dit ligt niet aan het personeel die werken wel heel hard maar met 3-4 bediendes, een vol restaurant bedienen is iets te veel. Kom zeker nog keer terug voor het eten maar hopelijk is er dan wel meer personeel.

We come from under the smoke of Rotterdam. We were in the area for a weekend and had dinner here which was great!!!!! There were 6 of us, everyone eating at the same time, good quality and good quantity

Have three meals delivered to your home. Ordered applesauce with all three meals, which was not included, It may have run out (available at any supermarket), but then you can provide an alternative or at least report that it has run out. Sent an email 3 weeks ago but have yet to receive a response.

Nice restaurant without fuss. Tasty food for a good price. Recommended. Service fast and friendly. I think it's always busy there. Cleaning could be a little better. (toilet) floors and tables sometimes stick. But the food wins. So 5 stars.

Great atmosphere. We celebrated my grandmother's birthday and it was arranged down to the last detail! Very nice, spontaneous host, who later turned out to also be the owner. The food was delicious, we didn't want for anything! The chateaubriand is highly recommended. We will definitely come back!! :)

Food cold, cold chicken, cold pork tenderloin, even the fries were cold, children's menus cold and the clerk's apology, sorry it's busy! Never coming here again, I'm really disappointed with the bears

Eten was geweldig. Snelle service. Zeer vriendelijk. Als veganist zijn er ook een paar opties en als vegetariër is er meer dan zat keuzen. Gerechten kunnen vegetarisch of vegan gekozen worden

Cozy restaurant with friendly service. It was a while ago but unfortunately the food is no longer what it once was. Spare ribs were not very hot, and expensive for the quality, these were real mass spare ribs with a sauce on them. Chicken satay came straight out of the freezer and was tasteless, also below expectations. No salad yet, nothing added. Kitchen is really substandard and expensive. Shame

My review about this Beren restaurant (read snack bar) was based on personal experience and facts, but so bad that even Google Reviews did not want or dared to post it (read censorship)

Dinner was part of the hotel package. So limited choice. Food itself good. Things go wrong with dessert due to lactose intolerance. Still, ice cream on apple crumble. As it became busier, the atmosphere deteriorated due to guests talking very loudly. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I was already aware that De Beren is a really crappy restaurant, but thanks to Albert Heijn's promotion, which consists of 1+1 free on a 3-course dinner, I tried it again for € 29.50. Upon arrival it took an uncomfortably long time before we were received. Then we had to use a very complicated route description to get to our table ourselves, instead of walking along. There was a table waiting for us with dirty dishes from previous guests. This took some time before it was actually cleaned up. About 10 minutes later, the table was half wiped with a wet cloth. After ordering, which was quite difficult because the waitress spoke under her breath, the starter arrived fairly quickly: carpaccio and garlic shrimp. The carpaccio was extremely tasteless and very disappointing. Fortunately, the garlic shrimp were tasty. After we had finished our starter, we were quickly served the main course. Unfortunately we were not asked if we were ready for the main course. The main course consisted of two chicken satays. The main course was ok, except that the fries were very tasteless. After we had finished the main course it was quiet. Our plates were left in front of us for at least 45 minutes, we were not asked if we wanted something to drink or dessert. While we were waiting, my hat fell off my head when I realized that the table in front of us was being served their entree and then being cleared away. After an hour the table was finally cleared and we were able to pass on our desserts: dame blanche and apple crumble. These desserts took an awfully long time and when the dessert was finally served, we noticed that the apple crumble was incredibly dry and tasteless. It simply wouldn't have been possible without the mini scoop of caramel ice cream. We also left it alone. The Dame Blanche was fine, but you can't really go wrong with that either. In the meantime, we were never asked for new drinks again, which left us with a dry mouth for about two hours. In short, even more hopeless than last time. Next time I will spend a little more money to get quality and service

Heerlijk gegeten. Ruime porties. Mooie entourage. Prettige en vooral vriendelijke bediening. Gerecht Varkenshaas met ambachtelijke frietjes is uitmuntend.

August 2, 2023 had dinner there together. Really bad service, no attention for you as a customer. Ordered for two, received for 1, then re-recorded twice and slow responses so we had to leave without dessert. 25/30% occupancy, so that wasn't the problem. No compensation, last time there.

Starter: excellent food Main course: variable (meat/fish/grill/vegetarian) Desserts: enough for two to share I like to drink coffee myself and even prefer specialty coffee such as caramel Latte machiatto. I got about the same, but the sugars of a coca cola are nothing compared to this....

Really, really bad. The food is not too bad, but the service is terrible, except for 1 lady who knows her trade. Everything else that can go wrong goes wrong. Drama.

The price was really good, but after that you were treated as follows: - not flexible if you have an allergy - main course salmon not available, but it is on the menu - salad served with the main course, not to be chewed - asked for ketchup, did not receive it, it was on the receipt - waited 45 minutes between starter and main course (the restaurant was not busy) - waitress dropped fries on the floor, did not clean them up, her explanation was that there would be cleaning tonight and kicked the fries aside

Went for dinner on Saturday with super nice weather and there was hardly anyone there, around 6 o'clock in the evening. There were more staff than guests and it took a very long time before we got our drinks and the food was not good, old dry piece of meat that was still completely white

Good food, reasonable service (wrong dish was delivered, not always very polite) and mediocre atmosphere with the location on a road and somewhat unstable tables and menus. It wasn't a bad experience, but I wouldn't go there again anytime soon.

We were more than 20 minutes early with our time reservation. But it was no problem at all, we could just sit down and order something. We were not familiar with the formula, but we will definitely visit another restaurant in our area. Something for everyone, including kids.

Ordered a drink box yesterday, a bitter garnish in the box, the bitterballen were at the bottom and were flat and cracked, causing the ragout to run out and become a sticky mass. I ate the other snacks that were still good. After telephone contact, a new box was delivered, the delivery person had to take back the first box full, so that was no longer possible, only the flattened bitterballs were still on the bottom. The delivery person had no idea what the cause could be. I explained this to him and let this immediately be a learning moment for you; Hot bitterballen are fragile and you should not put them in 1 box with the rest of the bitters garnish on top. Tip use several small boxes per type. Then deliver by bike, which is completely fine from an environmental point of view, but that chatter about speed bumps, for example, adds even more to the above result. And to top it all off, the second box also had the same result, so we didn't call about it again, we had eaten enough!

The food was fine and so was the price. Enough choice for the price.

Food was certainly good. Maybe nitpicking, but I think the mayonnaise was chip sauce. For the rest, definitely worth going in there. Enjoy your meal.

Het eten was super goed en ze zijn zeker niet gierig met opscheppen. De bestelling was ruim op tijd en zeer goed ingepakt. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

We had a great meal yesterday with a group of 9. Unfortunately my food came out again 3 hours later. It's difficult to say whether this was due to the food or just bad luck. It wasn't nice.

Had a bad experience tonight. The service took a long time. Only after fifteen minutes did the drinks arrive and after an hour the starter. My wife had salmon as a main course. This was undercooked and was then returned after another fifteen minutes when we had already finished the rest of our main course. So not really recommended.

Personally, I don't always think that only portraying young adults is a good thing, of course everyone has to learn, but you notice that there are some links missing, but they are certainly doing their best! Food was fine, service could have been a little better, atmosphere was not there at all in my opinion. And a tip from flip: If you give a child a coloring page, make sure that the colors have a point to color with😉

Great dinner place in Woerden. Their steak is amazing. Not to forget their artisan fries.

First of all, my tournedos was comparable to a piece of chewing gum. Secondly, we didn't get fries with our order, and to make it completely perfect we also sat near a window where it was cold even in a cardigan.

Excellent food, burgers for example are quite ok (but pre-cooked). Unfortunately, the service is very slow, it is better to get drinks or a menu yourself...

substandard food for a high price. Things that were on the menu could not be ordered, the fries were not fries but rather air and a cracked glass to drink from without being given any excuse. It's one extreme or the other here. Either it's genuinely tasty, or the food is so bad you never want to come back.

Had dinner at the Beren's tonight. Clear staff shortage. The soup was served with a mini ice cream scoop. The meat was lukewarm. The spare ribs are cold (but overcooked). After the complaint, we received the same spare ribs back, reheated! A children's ice cream was again served with a soup spoon because they had run out of spoons. The apple crumble was very dry. Long waiting time. All around a very sub-par experience tonight.

We were here at the restaurant quite early on December 4th. It was and was not busy. The good saint will be the reason for this. So we got all the attention. The food was tasty but fairly standard. Too bad the restaurant was quite cold. Apparently, as a friend said, we ate with the polar bears. The place was nicely decorated with parcels.

The food is very good and the portions are large. There is nothing to complain about here. However, the service was downright bad. We went to the Beren due to an arrangement from ViaLuxury. When we arrived, things didn't really go well and it was only after 20 minutes that we were able to order some drinks and receive the menu. This went wrong straight away. We then had to wait at least 40 minutes for the starter. Once again we had to wait a long time for the main course, also about 45 minutes. Drinks were finished before we got the main course and the waiter came by several times to other tables to answer and clear away, but no one came by our table. My friend raised his hand three times and the waiter saw this. Nobody came by. After at least 20 minutes, someone came to clear the plates of the main course and we asked for the dessert menu, because we actually wanted to leave, but had a three-course menu (from the ViaLuxury package). The desserts also went wrong and took a long time. There were several tables with guests who came in AFTER us and had already been gone for at least 30 minutes (after consuming three courses and paying). We therefore had the feeling that "paying" customers were given priority and were helped earlier/better than us, while we also indirectly paid for our food. After dessert we walked to the front to pay. Several waitress ladies (who also brought us food) had seen us, but just didn't come. Then there was another lady from the service who, when she saw me, immediately came over in a hurry to help us. All in all, we would definitely never go here again. Not recommended.

I was here 10-09-22 The food was lukewarm and very little, the menu has also changed, not for the better and the dessert was too bad for words, a strawberry coupe with yes, 1 strawberry in it with 1 scoop of ice cream for 8 euros. We thought we would grab a quick bite to eat, and with the experience of other "Beeren" restaurants in mind, I thought this was a smart move. First of all, reception... What reception? Secondly, ordering a drink..... After waiting 15 minutes we could finally order, and immediately ordered food. We went on the safe side, salmon, always good. Must say it was there very quickly, within 10 minutes. It was just a shame that the green asparagus that was served with it was still rock hard, the fries had been fried for too long and were therefore rock hard. And the salmon was bone dry. Or that we wanted sauce with the salmon? 2 times remoulade sauce, costs 3 euros per portion. It was served in a jug, the top was very dark and dull. I think it was prepared a few hours earlier and then warmed up in the microwave. We paid and returned home feeling less than satisfied
