A lovely, spacious restaurant in Kijkduin. In summer, you can enjoy the large terrace. The menu offers a wide selection and the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

I went there for breakfast and it was very tasty. You got 1 Kaiser roll, 1 croissant, 1 slice of white bread and 1 slice of brown bread. Orange juice and coffee, and plenty of jam, cheese, ham and roast beef. We really feasted. We will definitely go back again.

Wow. Completely unassuming, but what a fantastic restaurant! At first, we thought we were walking into a senior citizens' café that only serves coffee and cake. Then we saw the great menu, with moderate prices, almost a bargain, and were really looking forward to the food. We'd already caught glimpses of it at other tables as we walked by. Yummy! And we weren't disappointed. A quick waitress, delicious food, great beef sandwiches, etc. It was a lucky find. We'll definitely be back and stay the whole evening! 😬😉 Thanks for the friendly service and great food.

The food is of good quality. The service is a bit strange. You often hear a colleague do it. You order from one person, clear the table with another, and settle the bill with yet another. Inside, it's a madhouse with so many people. It's hardly possible to have a decent conversation.

I was very impressed with the beach bar, both the indoor and outdoor seating areas – it had a very nice look. There was a beautiful view of the North Sea and the beach. All the tables had parasols. The restrooms at the bar were relatively clean. Since we only had drinks there, I can't comment on the taste of the food, but it looked very tasty and appetizing. The drinks were reasonably priced. There was a bit of a wait at times, but everyone was very efficient and helpful.

After having eaten here fine several times, today was very bad. The spicy chicken was inedible, the caspacco sandwich had two slices of roast beef (so way too expensive), and the club sandwich only had curry flavor, a hodgepodge. It's a shame, it could be better.

Been here with 2 of the 3 grandchildren, my daughter-in-law and the 🐶, enjoyed a nice late lunch outside, and afterwards went up the hill across the road for a bit and thoroughly enjoyed the ☀️ and our reunion! I used to come here back in the day, ever since we moved to The Hague, when there was only a Herring Cart where now there is a very cozy mini shopping center and a hotel + apartment complex, and of course the Haagsche Beek, where I had been going since my teenage years, later with my wife and her parents, and even later with my son, most recently once on Mother's Day, when I had already moved to Veldhoven following my divorce from his mother, who has since passed away in 2023.

Stopped by for breakfast with the family. The bread basket looked fine until we saw the moldy slices....the staff indicated that it was due to the new supplier. But it seems to me that you check everything before serving this?

High tea was a real disaster. They charge more than 25.- per person and then you get frozen junk. They start with sweets. Everything comes straight from the package: macarons, cupcakes, scones with raisins baked fresh. Nothing is fresh. You get whipped cream instead of clotted cream. After that, savory🙈 sandwiches with spicy chicken. Mini toasted sandwich (1 toasted sandwich that was divided into four pieces). Sandwiches, ham and cheese, and egg salad. Bitterballen that really weren't tasty. The price-quality ratio was nowhere to be found; this “high tea” wasn't even worth 10.-. You'd be better off going to IKEA. You're better off ordering something from the menu than a high tea. It was really bad.

We had high tea here. Almost everything was tasty (not so much the small quiches), though. I did find the high tea a bit too much with a Dutch twist. I don't think bitterballen and small toasted sandwiches belong there. And instead of sandwiches, there were pumpkin rolls. Delicious, mind you, but not really English. Nobody had anything to complain about, though. Other drinks could also be ordered, and the friendly staff were happy to take some group photos. We enjoyed ourselves.

What a wonderful surprise this lunch break was the day after King's Day. We were crossing the Plaza from Escher to Mauritschuis and sat down at some clean outdoor tables. Almost immediately we were waited upon, refreshed and then menu laden. Being American was no difficulty with the Menu and our servers. I do not remember what we had to eat. Slightly different from American Faire but wonderful! The two of us easily shared our orders with extra plates provided. The service was excellent. I stepped inside to use the WC and was astonished at the atmosphere of the entire place. The bar, back patio and the downstairs was like going back in time. We continued our meal, watching others in the plaza. It is a large area with much going on. We only had one small disappointment; it might be a European thing. We had to wait a bit more than we are used to for our check, truly a minor inconvenience. So if you visit The Hauge, stop by and be sure to visit the inside!

It's just like a food factory. 3 waiters in a busy place. The menus are just dumped on your table, and you have to wait half an hour for someone to come and take your order. Eventually, I just left. The prices have also gone up enormously. Not cozy at all anymore

Top notch as always! We have been here several times over the years for high tea. Top notch as always! Super friendly staff, everything is clean, and if you ask for one halal, it's no problem either. I always pay attention to details and I have never received a plate there with a broken rim or a chip. Toilet clean as always. Interior well, what can I say... beautiful, stylish, cozy but also sleek. Love it!

Good restaurant with prompt and friendly service. Menu without great pretensions but with sufficient choice. Reasonable portions. Unfortunately, prices have risen here as well. Still not very expensive, but not cheap either. A fine breakfast is also offered for a modest price.

A fantastic breakfast restaurant right behind the dunes, offering a generous breakfast at a truly fair price. (Cold cuts, cheese, jam, roast beef, egg, bacon, orange juice, and a hot drink for €13.) Absolutely top-notch! It's just a little out of the way.

Nice place. Staff friendly and served quickly. The lunch was very tasty and ready fast. An improvement after the last time I was here, because then it was downright bad. Had high tea here. Plenty of choices on the tiered stand. Missed the clotted cream with the scones, and some more exclusive tea varieties would also be a welcome addition.

Easter breakfast meager for what you pay. A slice of crispy bacon with a small pile of scrambled eggs, bread, muffins, donuts, and croissants in one basket; the sweetness was stuck to the croissants and they were soft, the toppings very meager; not a worthy breakfast for the amount you pay.

It was very nice with the family

We come here quite often with a somewhat larger group (11 people). We have always had a delicious meal. The staff is sweet and cheerful and really goes out of their way for their guests. My pregnant daughter chose a burger; when it was served, they said "a well-done burger." My daughter hadn't pointed this out herself, but the waitress had apparently reported it to the kitchen. With the dessert that my daughter and my son shared, an extra scoop of ice cream and a ladyfinger biscuit were added. They also don't make a fuss at all if a dish is shared; an extra plate and cutlery are simply provided. In short: highly recommended, both for the delicious food and the service!

When it's busy, service is apparently difficult. Food for three people was brought, along with one measly little container of mayonnaise, even though all three had ordered it. It's then very difficult to get the server's attention. Especially not looking at the customers. Drinks were ordered again during dinner, but never brought. It was probably a long, hard day for the staff. Such a shame. I visited regularly afterward, and the service was excellent!

We've been coming to Kijkduin regularly for several years now and always visit Haagsche Beek several times. We feel very welcome and always well looked after. The food is consistently good and offers excellent value for money. We highly recommend it and always enjoy coming back.

The food is good, but it is very busy and noisy in the restaurant. Due to the crowds, the staff could not handle it well.

Meals bad! Ordered an egg but there was slime on it. Portions have gotten smaller. Bad for their staff. Not my place anymore.

Delicious food in a super relaxed environment.

I don't really like noise, and there is plenty of it here. Having a conversation is almost impossible, especially if you have reserved a long table. (Some call this pleasantly busy.) Otherwise, everything is fine! The snacks and drinks are good. Service is prompt. The layout is quite cramped, though, and I have seen people with wheelchairs and walkers struggling to get to their tables. If it all gets too much for you, you can just walk straight into the dunes. So far, there has always been a parking spot, so have fun!

We made a reservation through Social Deal on February 15th; it was my birthday that day. I've never had such a bad meal with the Social Deal menu. Everything was cold. The room we were in was very cold, and halfway through, we put on our coats. When we were about to leave, the heater didn't turn on until around 6:50 PM. The menu itself was also strange: one small chicken satay, one mini hamburger, and a slightly larger hamburger. No bread, with stroganoff sauce, but no bread. What the hell are you supposed to do with that? And all that for €22 per person. Afterward, I decided to order a hot chocolate, but even that was lukewarm. Incidentally, my wife had returned her menu, and it was reasonably warm, but still below the recommended temperature. In short, never again. I wish I'd listened to others who had already been here.

Lukewarm tomato soup, soft rolls, no cutlery or napkins (only after asking 3 times it was brought), the staff is friendly, that's true.

I had lunch with my girlfriend today. Steak strips. They looked great, but unfortunately, they weren't. The strips weren't warm and were quite overcooked. We called the waiter. The plates were taken away, and he went to fix it. Well, what a solution! They had put the plates in the microwave. The tender meat was a bit warmer, but even more overcooked. Chewed it again and then chose something else. The waiter claimed the plates hadn't been warmed up. But we didn't want to order the same dish again.

What a great place! It was quite busy on Saturday afternoon, which shows that more people appreciate this restaurant. Afterward, you can enjoy a nice walk, because across the street is a lovely walking area with a beautiful view of the sea and Kijkduin.

Used to be our first choice for breakfast, now it's our last. Tried it again after a long time, and it was tasty, but a bit sparse. The three of us only had two slices of certain cold cuts, and then you're constantly asking or waiting to see what the other person wants. I missed the brie, the pate, and some fruit or yogurt. But the quality of what we ate was good, just not much value for money. Sorry, but it's a shame... you used to be my favorite.

Carpaccio as a starter, without Parmesan cheese... As a main course, a steak, nicely medium rare and hot, but unfortunately no grill, vegetables and fries were as desired.

It's great that they're open on Mondays. Great location, you can walk straight into the dunes. The food arrived very quickly (but it wasn't super busy) and was delicious (the meat trio lunch is highly recommended!). Oh, and it's not expensive either! The staff wasn't unfriendly, but a few more smiles and a second longer to check if anyone had any other requests would have made them feel more welcome.

We were quite disappointed in the food. We used to love the Haagsche Beek a couple of years ago, but the service has changed. We were eating as a group of 6. Food did not arrive at the same time. Some food arrived cold. We got a very empty plate of bread with Tuna Salad. Sprinkles of red onion you almost needed a magnifying glass to see. And a sad pinch of rucola. For 16+ euros. Not worth it. Also while handing out the menu they did not say there was not any brie. Would be lovely to know before choosing what to eat. Omelet with bacon and cheese was a bit uneven. But for the price it was a huge plate full with a lovely salad on the side too.

We had Christmas brunch this year, and it was incredibly disappointing. Apart from Santa Claus, there was absolutely no Christmas spirit. The food was meager. The rolls were stale, and the loaf was completely drained of almond paste. Our vegetarians each got one slice of cheese. The service was decent, but we'll never have it again.

The food was absolutely fine for me. I had the three-course menu with soup and sole. It was more than enough for me. My colleague had satay, which was really quite small. Two skewers without any vegetables. So I had to order salad. A bit sparse, even though it was tasty. Definitely not enough for an average eater. The atmosphere was fine, but there was a table with running, screaming children. Something needs to be said about that, as it's not very relaxing. Probably just an isolated incident. The ambiance is very tasteful. The service was excellent. Definitely more than adequate! The menu was a bit pricey. I chose the cheapest option.
