A pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. We had a very enjoyable evening in the conservatory. It's a shame you have to pay €5.50 for extra fries.

The food was quite good. Nothing special, and it was quite pricey. The flavors were all rather bland. We really expected more. The service and atmosphere were excellent.

We had a delicious high tea and enjoyed the historic building. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

There wasn't much choice, and we were a bit disappointed. We'd been cycling all day and would have preferred something a little less fancy. It was also quite expensive for what we got.

Delicious dishes made with a lot of passion, even the toet toet was excellent, with bon bon with content. One comment that you have to pay extra for a few fries I think does not fit with an amount of, say, € 200.

Delicious surprise menu prepared with love. Seasonal dishes where the homemade tortellini with fermented cherries from our own garden was sublime. Atmosphere also good in characteristic building and beautiful surroundings. Hostess friendly.

Wi hebben hier met 22 personen onze trouwdag gevierd We hadden geen betere plek kunnen kiezen. Locatie fantastisch en het pand is sfeervol.Deeigenaresse/gastvrouw en haar collega's zin oprecht warm en gastvrij. Er werd goed mee gedacht over dieetwensen en allergieën. ledereen in ons gezelschap heeft heerlijk gegeten. vm de warme avond 30 graden wilden we graag na het hoofdgerecht naar buiten en dat was geen probleem. Heerlijk flexibel. Wij kunnen ledereen aanraden hier ( dineren of feen feestje te organiseren. Nogmaals dank voor de geweldige avond, wij komen terug!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here with 22 people. We couldn't have chosen a better place. The location is fantastic and the building is atmospheric. The owner/hostess and her colleagues are genuinely warm and hospitable. They thought carefully about dietary requirements and allergies. Everyone in our group had a delicious meal. Due to the warm evening of 30 degrees, we wanted to go outside after the main course and that was no problem. Wonderfully flexible. We can recommend everyone to dine here or to organize a party. Thanks again for the great evening, we will be back!

Despite the Pentecost rush (and Sluisdag) enjoyed a delicious tomato soup. The pesto really finished the soup. Compliments.

Wij waren na de vele positieve reviews teleurgesteld. Niet over de bediening overigens: allervriendelijkst. De locatie (verschillende 'huiskamers') is aardig, maar je hebt niet veel privacy en door de beperkte ruimte zaten wij wel erg bij de deur. Maar het gaat natuurlijk om het eten. Er is een wisselend vast menu zonder keuze en geen a la carte. Op zich een prima formule. Het eerste voorgerecht was ok, lekkere lamsham, maar de couscous was bijna papperig. Tussengerecht: 1 asperge met een behoorlijk zure Hollandaise en ei: redelijk. De eendenborst van het hoofdgerecht was bepaald niet mals en erg zout. Er lag een origineel bijgerecht bij: een 'dolmas' van paksoiblad met daarin o.m. gort. Leuk bedacht en gedaan! Al vonden wij de gort ook wel weer erg gaar. Wij namen kaas als dessert. Ook hier een kleine hoeveelheid en dan van louter lang houdbare kazen. Misschien is de vraag naar kaasdessert te klein voor een beter assortiment. De huisrosé (Cinsault) was prima en voegde zich vriendelijk naar de verschillende gerechten. De dessertwijn kregen we per glas op tafel zonder de fles te zien. Dat vonden wij onplezierig. Misschien hebben wij gewoon pech gehad, maar anders vonden wij het eigenlijk allemaal wat te pretentieus.

We were looking for something exclusive for our wedding celebration. We found it in the Sluiswachter. The menu is simple. Choice between a surprise menu of 3, 4, 5, yes even 6 courses with a basket of fries yes/no completely fine. We went for the 4 courses. Delicious local produce processed in the courses. Fantastic and prepared with great care and taste. The friendly service and explanation of the different dishes made the experience complete.

What a wonderful, delicious high tea we had this afternoon. Despite miscommunication, because they were actually closed, the owner still came to provide us with this surprise high tea. A beautiful spot! You don't really see it from the front...but inside there is a cozy restaurant and a very special terrace at the back!

We had a delicious meal here. The surprise menu was carefully and tastefully put together. The portions were a nice size. The wine list is limited but sufficient. The service was friendly and the building is really nice. An old villa with several rooms, tastefully decorated. The only thing that stood out was the time between dishes. That took a bit too long for some courses. Furthermore, this restaurant is highly recommended.

This afternoon we cycled past restaurant "De Sluiswachter" at lunchtime. What a cozy restaurant at the lock in, I assume, the former attractively decorated old lock keeper's house. Nice and large terrace outside. Everything exudes a nice atmosphere. Friendly and smooth service. A menu with many surprises from the chef. And a day menu with a choice of soup, poffertjes, croquettes on bread, a meal salad or a hamburger. Price for quality and quantity on the steep side, but all in all a very GOOD. Thank you for the pleasant break and the delicious lunch.

We hebben op het terras lekker gegeten. Het restaurant ligt op een mooi locatie. Je kan er alleen kiezen hoeveel gangen je wilt eten. Uiteraard wordt er rekening gehouden met bepaalde voorkeuren. Alle gerechten waren lekker op smaak en met veel variatie gemaakt. Ook goede gerechten voor vegetariërs.De wijnkaart is ok. Er staan de meest gangbare wijnen op. Hier geen verrassing. Zeker de moeite waard om nog een keer naar toe te gaan

Last weekend we ate on the terrace of the lock keeper restaurant. Nice atmosphere ! When it comes to restaurant visits, I consider myself very critical. I suddenly had nothing to report to the lock keeper. I was speechless. Perfect, surprising, original, delicious, subtle and the concept of dining without a menu is very nice as far as I'm concerned. The cook surprised us. I have visited several restaurants recommended by Michelin that surprised me less than the lock keeper. We will definitely visit this restaurant again. All compliments to the chef and the team!

4 course menu €55, large portions, delicious dishes, very tasty catfish, and lamb as a main course, great! A wine menu, but half glasses are also possible. Beautiful location, parking in front of the door. Also nice terrace for warm days.

Tasty and original vegetarian food, beautifully served. The decoration is nice, but it still seems a bit bare. Adding some greenery and a rug on the floor here or there would help I think :-)

We komen hier regelmatig. Meestal tot volle tevredenheid. De laatste tijd vallen ons echter wat minpuntjes op: - veel zon in ons gezicht, gordijn kon niet naar beneden (kapot, verder geen actie) - bediening laat regelmatig te wensen over (verkeerde wijn, geen idee wat we eten..) - broodje vooraf kost 5 euro pp, voelt vreemd bij een 5 gangen menu met wijnarrangement. Broodbordje met mesje bleef de hele maaltijd onaangeroerd staan.

July 10, 2019; Today, to my surprise, I was surprised again by the fantastic dishes. Every course is a firework of flavors! Great service and a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The quality remains very high. The price remains (too) low! 08-04-2019; already been there for the third time, now with guests. Fantastic! what creativity and what flavors! Price?? too low!! We already knew they were good but tonight exceeded our expectations. Beautiful dishes for the eyes, nose and mouth! Every course was a party. Thank you

The surprise menu is a nice concept, where dietary wishes are explicitly asked. The dishes are special and prepared and served with great care. The service is also friendly and accessible. Had dinner here on a work trip. Whole restaurant to ourselves. 3 rooms where you are shielded but which are still connected. Good atmosphere. Upon arrival, our coats were accepted and hung up. We were welcomed with a beautiful homemade cocktail/mocktail. Then a round of tasty fried snacks. When it was time to eat, we started with an appetizer of pumpkin soup. We could choose from meat, fish or vegetarian. The fish starter was cod and meat, I thought, a beef roll. Both very nicely prepared and very tasty. Main course I had was a piece of sirloin steak in homemade gravy on a bed of vegetables. Plus some fries. Fantastically tasty and tender piece of meat and tasty vegetables and gravy. Only I had a very small piece of meat compared to my table companions. It's a bit of a shame that there was such a difference in the size of the meat. For dessert, choose from limoncello with pistachio or a cheese board. I had the cheese board with 3 types of cheese. An extra piece of (fig) bread could have been added because of the predominant blue cheese. The food was fantastic and prepared with care. I have no idea what the price was so I can't say anything about the price-quality ratio.

Zeer smakelijk gegeten. Bediening vriendelijk maar vooral wijnen kennis kan beter. Zeker waar voor je geld.

Wat een smakelijke sensatie. Ik ben geen makkelijke eter (wat een boer niet kent...), maar heb mij volledig laten verassen door de chef. En werkelijk alles was heerlijk. Icm met de prachtig opgemaakte borden, de uiterst vriendelijke bediening en rustige ambiance is dit zeker een plek om terug te komen!

Héérlijk gegeten bij de Sluiswachter. 'S avonds serveren ze een menu van de chef in verschillende aantal gangen. Keuze uit vis, vlees, vegetarisch of een mix. Wij hebben enorm genoten van een 5 gangen menu, alles was erg smaakvol. Fijne bediening in een ongedwongen sfeer. We komen zeker nog eens terug!

Een leuke verrassing. Vriendelijke bediening, een hele leuke locatie en bovenal lekker eten. We komen zeker nogs eens terug.

Geheel redelijk onverwachts kwamen we hier terecht. Een vriendin belde 2 uur van te voren en ja we konden om 16.30 nog komen voor een high tea. Het was rustig deze zondag buiten in de tuin / teras. Er was een live optreden en de muziek was chill (voor een 51 jarige). Werkelijk waar alle gerechten van de High tea waren verrukkelijk. Een absolute aanrader als u in de buurt bent. Aan het eind van de High tea was er een enorme stort bui op komst waar het vriendelijke personeel ons op attendeerde.

Wij komen er niet meer. Moesten 45 minuten tot bijna 1 uur wachten tussen de gerechten.

Heerlijk gegeten. Leuk is ook dat er verschillende kamers zijn waarin je kunt eten en zo wordt een gezellige intieme sfeer gecreëerd. Leuke spontane, jonge, deels nog lerend personeel, maar super vriendelijk. Muziek op achtergrond is ook lekker en wat meer van deze tijd. Wijnkaart is leuk en veel betaalbare flessen. Prijs kwaliteit is top. Chef moet zeker zo doorgaan en met leuk enthousiast team top tent van maken.

Alleen maar complimenten...altijd spannend als je niet weet wat je voorgeschoteld krijgt, maar het was het meer dan waard. Een feestje om hier te mogen eten. De sfeer, het eten en de bediening...het klopt gewoon.

Mooi plekje en je kunt mooi buiten zitten met mooi uitzicht bij het water. Het eten is wel prijzig voor wat je krijgt, we moesten lang wachten op het eten. Ook jammer dat je niet kunt kiezen uit verschillende soorten vlees of vis. Ze hanteren een andere formule. We vonden het eten ook matig.

Heel erg fijn restaurant. We hadden een prettig huiskamergevoel, service was uitermate correct en goed. De juiste toon werd geraakt. Eten was uitstekend en het bijpassende wijnarrangement prima. Wij waren er in april, ik denk dat het in de zomer nog veel leuker is als je buiten kunt eten en er geschut wordt in de naastgelegen sluis. Zeker een aanrader!

Wederom heerlijk gegeten afgelopen zondagavond. Het was heel rustig maar lekker warm binnen. Verrassende amuse en gerechten weer. Met 3 gangen en de amuse ga je voldoende gevoed naar huis. We hebven genoten en kijken weer uit naar het buitenseizoen om weer in de tuin te kunnen zitten.

Dit is heerlijk. We hadden n vis- en n vleesmenu. Alle gerechten zeer smakelijk en kleine schilderijtjes.
