Restaurant Elkaar in Weesperbuurt/Plantage

I celebrated my 30th birthday here, and it was the perfect choice! The staff was so kind, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was super cozy and inviting. Such a great experience—I’d definitely recommend it!

De drie pijlers voor een goed restaurant zijn in orde: een aangename (informele) omgeving, goed eten en prettig personeel. Een mooie afsluiting van een dagje Amsterdam.

Heerlijke avond, elke gang een feestje! De borden lijken net kleine schilderijtjes, en fijne bediening. Een aanrader!

Mi esposa y yo estábamos en Amsterdam para nuestro décimo aniversario y queríamos celebrarlo en un restaurante con estrellas Michelin. Elegimos este por las críticas. Fuimos recibidos por Isobel que era la esposa del chef, el restaurante no tiene menú fijo ya que están comprometidos con la sostenibilidad. Elegimos la comida de 5 platos, que era excelente que tenía muchos artículos de temporada. El punto destacado sin embargo fue un helado salado de alcachofa de Jerusalén en una crema de jerez con corteza de almendra, nos encontramos con el chef brevemente al final de la comida, una experiencia fantástica,

El equipo organizó una cena con 25 colegas de toda Europa. Todos eran muy positivos acerca de su comida y experiencia. El equipo nos cuidó muy bien y la comida y el vino era excelente. ¡Gracias!

Met een groep van 10 mensen vierden we een feestje bij en met ELKAAR. Het was een prachtige zomerdag, dus we aten buiten. Van de ontvangst tot het afscheid was alles perfect! De hotelschool achtergrond en hun internationale ervaring hebben Rob en Isabella tot een fantastisch team gemaakt. Alle zes gerechten waren prachtig, verrassend en bijzonder lekker. Ook de bijpassende wijnen waren top! Wij hebben een super avond gehad en komen zeker terug!

A good and pleasant restaurant is one where the quality of the food is excellent, the atmosphere is pleasant and attractive, and the service is also excellent. A restaurant where you can enjoy the food and the hosting experience is also memorable.

Great place with delicious (sometimes very local) food, warm owner (chef) and staff who care about their work and the quality of the food. Each dish was a delight in the combination of flavors, the quantity just right so that you don't leave with an overfull stomach. In addition, an incredibly tasty wine. Nice to see such a passion for good food, in balance with the well-being of the people who work there. The chef came to the table for a chat, giving you a personal touch. Not cheap, but you do get something. Highly recommended.

We had some mixed feelings about Elkaar. On the one hand, the service and the presentation of the courses are of the highest level. In fact, some courses were outstanding altogether (the scallop dish was to die for). On the other hand, we tried to figure out the cuisine of Elkaar. Empanadas, sashimi, Dutch cheeses: it all didn’t quite feel is should be served together. Likely this is where the name of the restaurant comes from (Elkaar means “Together” in Dutch). Some of the dishes lacked some “pow”, the broth served with the bulgar, besides not served warm enough, tasted pre-made. To finish this review as I started: mixed feelings. Some dishes were really amazing, others were lacking flavor. There’s enough culinary talent at Elkaar, as a guest I rather see more focus on a certain cuisine than to mix them through “elkaar”.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Elkaar in Amsterdam, and it was truly a culinary journey like no other. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. What truly stood out was the impeccable service; the staff were not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine and wine selection, enhancing our overall enjoyment. Without a doubt, Elkaar has set a new standard for fine dining in Amsterdam, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience.

I had an incredible dining experience at Restaurant Elkaar last Saturday. The food was simply delicious, with unique flavors. The nice ambiance, created the perfect setting for a lovely evening with friends. What truly excellent experience with nice service; the staff were attentive and friendly I highly recommend Restaurant Elkaar.

My second visit to “Elkaar” and like the first time it was a joy! Nice ambiance, very friendly, personal service. The chef’s menu was beautifully presented, a combination of refined tastes. Good wines to accompany dinner. Choice of 5/6/7 courses, we (2 men) were happy with the 5 course menu. It is changing bit by bit so always a surprise in the season…Like the popcorn mocktail my friend could not get enough from! Love & Value for money!

Wow, what an excellent restaurant, we enjoyed the 6 course menu, in which the dishes were like a picture on the plate, delicious in taste. The bread is super tasty with very tasty butter. The food was surprisingly yummy, it looked really bad but when i tasted it was totally scrumptious👄👄😳😳. My boyfriend (now fiancé ) proposed right after giving the first bite.

Heerlijke gerechten met ingrediënten uit heel de wereld. De “secret wijnmenu” is een ervaring op zich met unieke limited edition wijnen, uitproberen zou ik zeggen! Verder vriendelijke bediening en de chef komt een babbeltje maken aan tafel.

Not sure if I would come back again. As a Michelin restaurant, price is expected to be high, but food quality is average. Not really worth the price. Picaña was chewy, difficult to swallow; salmon still had the skin on it, to the point I couldn’t cut it with the knife, but had to peel the fish from its skin; the poultry was very good, other plates were nothing special (e.g one slice of tomato with some watery pink sauce).

5 stars all the way!!!! My oh my... Lucila, Isabel, Rob and the Elkaar team did such an amazing job for my father's 75 birthday. It was a special occasion and my parents are not used to fancy places... Not to say that Elkaar is not a fancy place, it is a cosy, arty and special space that focuses on making people feeling well and happy. We all were blessed!! Service was simply very professional. Rob the chef came out to greet us and present the menu. Then Isabel and Lucila took care of the rest so we can make out the most of this culinary experience. Food was simply magical. Surpring combination inspired by all sorts of food from other countries. What an eclectic way of cooking! Location is just perfect: a touch of rafinment with all flowers sourced locally. We sat on the terrace by a warm and long summer evening. BONUS: For the 75th Birthday of my dad, Rob and the team designed a sweet globe. Isabl en Lucila brought the surprise with care to keep the surprise until the very last moment... wow... we were all blown away! All in all, I'm so glad to have found THE perfect match between rafinment, care and creativity. I wish that Isabel and Rob will keep the same line for a long time so we can keep enjoying the food, the space and the good vibes. Well done team Elkaar, see you soon!

Amazing experience, the 6 courses were delicious and unique. Attention to detail from start to finish.

Great food, really inventive with a brilliant presentation. The wine pairing was absolutely terrific! We were a party of 7: one of us was vegan, another one was allergic to sea food, another one didn’t like cheese and one of us was allergic to nut. The chef brilliantly adapted the courses to everyone’s need while maintaining a super high quality!

I wanted to make a gift to my wife for her 30th birthday. It was a delightful and successful evening! Thanks to the kindness and attention of the personnel to every necessity we had. We tried the 5 course menu from the chef proposal and we really enjoyed every single dish. I don’t want to make spoilers, but It is clear that every single ingredient was accurately thought and studied to be combined with harmony, according to the season. This restaurant really deserve a visit if you stay in Amsterdam. Thanks a lot for the enogastronomic experience!

Kwaliteit en smaak van het eten vielen enorm tegen, te weinig bediening voor het aantal tafels, bediening vroeg niet of het eten gesmaakt had en kwam niet vragen of we nog een drankje wilden toen de glazen leeg waren. Als klap op de vuurpijl nog enorm ziek van het eten.

On the edge of the city centre near the old city gate Muiderpoort the only choice is the surprise menu, always our favoriete . We took the six course with matching wines. Surprising tastes starting from the first amuses till desert with great wine choice. Echt lekker en een aanbeveling..

Small and cozy restaurant for long conversations and good food. We came at 6pm and our 5 course menu finished at 9pm. So, it was a bit too long, but we had a nice conversation. Unfortunately sometimes waiters didn’t even took empty plates away from us, so we ended up sitting in front of them. Moreover, we saw that people who arrived 1h later than us were served the same courses at the same time as we were. In my opinion, food was quite good, but not excellent: some courses were interesting in taste and delicious, 2 courses out of 5 I, personally, didn’t like. I probably wouldn’t return, but I saw that many people did. Never say never. The menu changes seasonally, so, who knows, maybe chief’s summer choice would be better?
