Tijdens ons bezoek aan Utrecht dit restaurant gekozen om te dineren. Gekozen voor Iberico haas en gegrilde zalmfilet. Beiden heel lekker. Service was vriendelijk en correct.

Hier samen met mijn moeder gaan eten. Het was druk. We moesten wachten op het eten, dat is natuurlijk heel normaal. Na een tijd kregen onze buren hun eten, wat erg veel op dat van ons leek. Na even wachten zagen we 2 obers overleggen en ineens dat het eten van onze buren weer werd meegenomen. Ze vroegen aan de buren "hebben jullie eraan gegeten?". Waarop ze het antwoord kregen van niet, alleen dat ze met hun mes eraan hadden gezeten. Het werd meegenomen en binnen een minuut weer bij ons op tafel gezet. Nu hebben we het gewoon opgegeten, omdat we zagen dat er niks geks mee was gebeurd, maar toen bij het afrekenen werd gevraagd "was alles naar wens?" En wij als antwoord gaven dat we het alleen niet zo netjes vonden dat het eten bij anderen werd weggepakt en zonder te vermelden bij ons is neergezet, werd dit tot 3x toe glashard ontkend. Fouten maken kan, maar geef het gewoon toe en biedt even je excuses aan. Nu verlieten we het restaurant met het gevoel alsof wij de gek zijn... Jammer.

Eine super Restaurant in kleiner Seitenstraße. Wir saßen auf der kleinen Terrasse vor dem Lokal. Alles war voll. Sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service. Essen war sehr sehr gut. Hervorragende Qualität von Brot, Dips und Oliven; Rindercarpaccio sowie ein sensationelles Muschelgericht. Preise sind angemessen und nicht zu teuer. Innen ist sehr laut, da alles sehr eng zusammensitzt. Ähnlich einer Brasserie oder Trattoria.

A fantastic evening at Restaurant Het Zuiden – everything was perfect! What a fantastic evening we had at Restaurant Het Zuiden in Utrecht! From the moment we walked in, we felt immediately welcome. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease. We started with two delicious appetizers: the avocado with burrata and the salmon tartare – both super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. For our main course, we enjoyed the perfectly cooked sea bass and the special of the day: surf & turf. Everything was excellently prepared, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. You can taste the care and attention they give to the food at Restaurant Het Zuiden. The service and hospitality also deserve a compliment: what lovely, enthusiastic people. Attentive, friendly, and just the right mix of professionalism and relaxed atmosphere. It made us feel truly pampered. In short: we had a wonderful evening, from start to finish. We absolutely recommend Restaurant Het Zuiden!!

I found the restaurant on Instagram and visited yesterday. We were absolutely thrilled with the entire evening. It's a cozy spot in the town, the service is very friendly, the drinks are wonderful at reasonable prices, and the food is incredibly delicious. I'd love to come back again.

Had a wonderful meal at Het Zuiden with colleagues. The rib-eye steak and salmon fillet were perfectly prepared, with delicious side dishes. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Definitely worth a return visit!

I have been there 5 times, it was alway a positive experience. Food is great, fish or meat does not matter, they know how to cook. Located in the city center, I would say it is one of the top 5 restaurant in Utrecht. Recommended

Food was really good and I personally loved their "Beef Carpaccio" and the "Rib-eye Steak" which was cooked rare as I expressly asked for. The waiter who served us was very professional, although you would not qualify him as friendly. So, why only 3 stars? A 750ml of water was € 7,50, which we found outrageous, and let's say that they were a bit "stingy" pouring the wine in the glasses. Please do not lose your reputation trying to make extra cash on water, not worth it, because the place is really good apart from this detail.

Centraal gelegen en eenvoudig bereikbaar. Heerlijk gegeten (zowel vis als vlees) in ontspannen ambiance. Vlotte, vriendelijke bediening. We komen zeker nog eens terug!

Pleasant restaurant. We had the tomahawk steak for 2 people. It was perfectly cooked and beautifully served. Garnish was also fine. Service was pleasant and helpful. Times between courses could have been a little longer because it went quite quickly from starter to the tomahawk. Price wasn't too bad considering what you get for it.

Heerlijk gegeten. We hadden officieel een late lunch met gerechten van de dinerkaart. We waren met 7 personen en alles was perfect. Voor 1 persoon een aangepast hoofdgerecht maken was geen enkel probleem. Ook het wijnadvies was prima. prettige bediening.

Van begin tot eind was onze ervaring in dit restaurant werkelijk fantastisch. Bij binnenkomst werden we hartelijk verwelkomd door het vriendelijke personeel, dat ons direct naar onze tafel begeleidde. De sfeer is warm en uitnodigend, met een verfijnde inrichting die het geheel een luxe uitstraling geeft zonder te overdrijven.

Lovely restaurant! Communication before our group booking was brilliant and very detailed - the food was amazing, service was spot on and the atmosphere was perfect! Would highly recommend for group dinners as well as smaller groups! We had the back room to ourselves, and it was a great experience. I'd def go back when i'm next in town! Leuk klein restaurant. Eten prijs kwaliteit komt niet overeen. Te duur voor wat je krijgt. Personeel vriendelijk maar ook beetje pusherig willen heel snel alles afhandelen.

Food was excellent, steaks cooked perfectly to direction with a nice side of risotto and vegetables. The truffle pasta was also noteworthy as was the mussels served with a salad and fries. We didn't opt for dessert since the meals had filled us up enough and the staff's recommendation (and service during the evening) fit each meal splendidly. The place was cosy and had a resident cat called Cleo. I unfortunately did not catch the name of the tank lobster but it was a fun addition to the calm intimate setting.

Sirloin steak was very good with mushrooms + sauce. Excellent portion. Very tasty flavours. The side dish "fried vegetables" was very well seasoned with herbs and fried, very tasty. Side dish "Fries" were homemade and fried in fresh oil until crispy, super delicious! Homemade mayo. Starter carpaccio very tasty but a bit sparse, could do with a larger plate. It's a shame that all restaurants in Utrecht empty after 9:00 PM, so if you start at 8:00 PM, you will still be alone in the restaurant at 9:30 PM. No Belgian or French times here, too bad. A second round would be fine from 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Atmospheric and beautifully decorated restaurant in the heart of Utrecht. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. Good quality food and beautifully presented. The portions are more than sufficient. The ribeye was perfectly prepared and tasty. Just a pity that the ribeye was served not as a whole steak but in two slices. Highly recommended.

Wij eten hier al een aantal keer zakelijk met ons team en het is echt aan te raden. Ook een aparte ruimte als je rustig wilt eten. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouden is perfect. Echt een aanrader om een hapje te eten!

Buen servicio, comida muy cara. El entrante de mariscos era minimalista con 2 mejillones, 2 almejas de afeitar y 6 vongole. Extraña salsa de tomate pero eso es subjetivo. Pero a 16 euros. 5 que es una locura. Carpaccio estaba sabroso. El besugo entero estaba bien cocinado pero le faltaba condimento (soso) con limones por todas partes, así que todo lo que obtuvimos fue limón en términos de sabor. Mi filete (ossenhaas) era realmente pequeño, menos de 120 gr y ciertamente no medio raro. Pero era tierno. Pero a 36 euros algo claramente sobrevalorado. Gran servicio por nuestro camarero español que trabajó duro pero con una sonrisa.

Wow, this was a pleasant surprise. What a delicious meal we had here: delicious carpaccio, delicious rib-eye and a delicious Italian Coffee! Excellent and friendly service. I will definitely come back here! Tip for improvement: The logo contains the text "Fish & Wine | Beef & Beer". Then make sure that beer is also on the menu, just like the wine, or at least provide the beer list immediately so that you don't have to ask for it.

The wine did not cost 29.50 per bottle, but 49. Apparently that was on the map, but neither of us saw it, in other words, it was very unclear! Very expensive!

Excellent quality in the heart of Utrecht! In connection with our annual former classmates dinner, I once again had the pleasure of choosing a nice restaurant for our group. Knowing that everyone loves good meat, it is always a challenge because I don't want to disappoint anyone in our annual tradition. The next challenges in my search are that I am bound to the center of Utrecht and it has to be a different restaurant than the previous one. Now the choice fell on Restaurant het Zuiden. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and it was not difficult to find out that there were fewer people present than stated. Unfortunately we also suffered from a no-show. Then the menu, there is plenty of choice between meat and fish dishes and wines. The service is fast and extremely friendly. We were helped by a Spanish employee. This young man was amazing! Friendly, helpful, attentive to guests and hardworking. These types of employees are worth their weight in gold and enhance the experience of “eating out”. As a company you can really be proud of this! Then the food: from the starters to the main courses, everything was very tasty and left us wanting more. Every critic at the table was thoroughly enjoying himself and having a good time and that's what it's all about. If I have to make one point of criticism, we ordered our main courses medium-rare, but all of us were served medium. I don't know if the waiter gave this incorrectly or if the chef made a mistake, but luckily it was good in terms of taste. The meat was still extremely tender and buttery soft. That small mistake that could normally make a big difference now made little difference. The quality of the meat is really top! What was also striking is that the wine was served generously, which is a rarity in the catering industry these days. Another extra plus point. Then finally the prices. It's not cheap, but the quality of the meat is really top quality. Supplemented with excellent service, it is worth your money. We will definitely come back again!

Excellent restaurant in a nice location. We had lunch on the terrace, and it was to our complete satisfaction. Mozzarella/pesto sandwich, tuna sandwich and Dobben croquette sandwich were very tasty. Fresh ingredients and good bread. The service is friendly and professional. Recommended.

Had dinner here. Friendly staff. Location jot that big, so with a big group it does feel a bit cramped. The good was good, but in all honesty, did not blow me away. The end verdict is therefore three stars out of five.

Had a great meal here a year ago. Now fish and ribeye. Both dishes were really overcooked and therefore unappetizing. To send back 3 of the 4 dishes was too much for me. Actually should have done it. Reported to the waiter. They wanted to make up for it with a discount on the voucher. I appreciate that, but unfortunately the chef does not know his trade by cooking fish and meat to such an extent. Unfortunately, no repeat for us at this restaurant.
