Our favorite place for special occasions! This wasn’t our first time at In ’t Vierde Baarsje, and as always, it was an unforgettable experience. We came to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and everything was perfect. The service was outstanding—so friendly and attentive. The chef (who is also the owner) gave us not only an incredible culinary show but also served absolutely amazing food. It’s always a pleasure to come back here, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

This evening, my wife and I had an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether it was the service, the ambiance, the wine, or the food – everything was exceptional. As a trained chef myself, having worked in a 4-star hotel, I know how to appreciate truly good food. But we have never eaten this well before. It was outstanding. I even had the pleasure and the honor of creating a dish together with the head chef, especially for the guests. It was an incredibly beautiful moment, and we want to sincerely thank the entire team for everything and for this wonderful evening. Thank you for this unforgettable experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine dining and a relaxed atmosphere. 10 out of 5 stars! Had a great meal at restaurant int vierde baarse. When you enter you can first have a drink downstairs at the bar, then dinner upstairs at the table. Hospitality and delicious food. What more could you want.

A hidden gem in Amsterdam! This restaurant is truly a golden find. Hidden between the Overtoom and the Surinameplein, you can easily walk past it, but it is definitely worth looking for. You start the evening in the cozy basement bar, where the atmosphere immediately takes you to the Amsterdam of the eighties, warm, nostalgic and unique. After a drink you will be guided to your table, where the experience really begins. The stroganoff sauce is prepared fresh at the table and is without a doubt one of the best I have ever tasted. Everything is perfect here: the food, the atmosphere and the service. The staff is friendly, hospitable and knows exactly how to ensure you have a relaxing evening. A unique place that you will not soon forget - highly recommended!

It's been a while since we've been here, but it was fantastic again! We will definitely come again more often, because we almost forgot how nice and cozy it is here. Nice owners and fantastic chef! Steak with pepper sauce is prepared at the table and the pepper sauce is nowhere like here, sublime! We travel from Brabant to Amsterdam for this restaurant and we drive past many restaurants, but we really do it.

Had a delicious meal with the family!! We received a super hospitable welcome, we really had a great evening. The hour's drive was more than worth it! Haven't had such a good meal in a long time!!!

Ate here for my mother's (84) birthday. What a party this was. Fine and tasty French dishes, delicious wine and a very nice chef and service. Everything is right in this intimate French-oriented restaurant. The starter, main and desserts were excellent. The staff gave you their full attention and thought along with you. Will definitely come back here again. price/quality was perfect.

Oct 26, we had dinner with the two of us. A warm bath. Very friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food, well prepared. Homely atmosphere. Delicious snacks from the house beforehand and a spoom in between. Dover sole was fantastic, mousse au café too. Everything refined and prepared with love. Update Had dinner again recently. The food was just as delicious and prepared with love, compliments for that! In terms of atmosphere, it has deteriorated slightly because there are new staff. They are undoubtedly doing their best, but they cannot create the atmosphere for which this restaurant is known and if you ask something (about a dish for example) they have to ask. All in all, I think it's a bit of a stretch for a quality store like this. We will try again, hopefully it will turn out well. I wish the owners the best.

This restaurant is very cozy, owner-managed, very hospitable and creates wonderfully tasty dishes. We felt very good here and it was a relief after so much mainstream food to finally let our palate be pampered. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Silvio is quite the chef and personality. He prepared some housemade sauce au poivre for us on the side at request. He also surprised us with a fabulous prosecco and raspberry sorbetto cocktail to cleanse our palates between our first and second courses. Great meal and ambience.

The food was super tasty, the service and owner were super friendly, fun and pleasant. I'll definitely be back, especially for the chateaubriand; it was wonderfully tender and perfectly cooked.

Why does this only go to 5 stars? The food? Amazing. Michelin good amazing. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and served beautifully. Service? Silvio and Natasha took care of us like family. They had honest reccomendations and chatted with us like friends. A perfect evening!

A warm welcome, had us dining in one of the most atmospheric restaurants we’ve been. Our meal was prepared at our table by the chef/ owner. To top it off we had a lovely liqueur tasting downstairs in the quaint basement bar! Such a fantastic night! Thank you Sylvio!

Terrible restaurant. They looked at us up and down and saw the luggage bag. And declined us saying “all the seats are full” I felt it quite racistic. Or at least a discrimination. They checked us out and told all the seats were full explaining “Sometimes people from the bar side will eat in the table.” I could see there were only 2 tables with people and no other tables were with reserved sign. Maybe it has good food, but their attitude is terrible. ——————————————- I read your comment. It’s a surprise to hear that you “kindly reserved the all the several empty tables” for the people who’s drinking in the downstairs. I don’t think people usually drink first and have dinner, and I’ve never seen any restaurant that’s reserving several spots including bar side and the restaurant for people who’s drinking downstairs. Normally in the restaurant they ask you “Do you want to sit in the bar side, or the table side” not “We will reserve both bar and the table side that no other customers can be here” I truly don’t get this kind of discrimination. Be honest, instead of making up bad excuses ————————————- Because you are changing your reply, I’m leaving the second reply. You have tables for around 10spots on the upside. And for the downstairs, you have around 5 tables and some seats for the bar sides. It is possible that around 4-5 teams from the bar side reserved the whole 10 spots on the upper and down side or more people were supposed to come, but how your server approached explained was not with good explanation, I rather felt like I got kicked out. And it was rude enough to make this serious complaint. Instead of making it as a fault of a customer’s for not knowing your restaurant’s culture since they never visited your restaurant, when you get a complaint, why don’t you try to make it better or say sorry instead of continuously making excuses?

Classic French cuisine. Chosen for the "mother of classics". Chateaubriand Stroganoff prepared at the table. Tenderloin nice and red and then that sauce... Very good! A really delicious full creamy taste. Was the first time and certainly not the last. I'm not done with the menu yet!

Everything fine. Just a very long wait for the food. According to the staff, the crowds on Saturday were the cause. But waiting an hour for a cheese board?

Good food that makes you feel at ease

Wonderful restaurant. Nice interior, pity that it looks less attractive from the outside. But there is little they can do about that. Very surprised about the food!

Delicious classic French cuisine, starter (cocquilles st Jacques), main course (hare loin, highly recommended, super tender) and dessert (creppes suzette) excellent, super friendly staff....do it

Heerlijk restaurant, fantastisch sfeervol. Verrukkelijke klassieke Franse keuken. Wij hadden de paté met eendenlever en de foie gras vooraf. Ik heb geen foto kunnen maken omdat het er zo mooi uit zag dat wij direct zijn gaan eten. Daarna tournedos en hertenfilet... Bij de ontvangst door de gastheer en eigenaar Sylvio voel je je meteen op je gemak en in de watten gelegd. Dit is echt: uit eten gaan!

Eten bij dit restaurant is niet gewoon eten maar het is een belevenis en een ervaring. Heerlijke maaltijden worden aan je tafel klaargemaakt en het personeel is vriendelijk, behulpzaam en legt goed uit wat ze doen en wat je te eten krijgt. Het kost wat meer maar het is de experience dubbel en dwars waard.

Verassend, van buiten zie je niet zoveel maar eenmaal binnen is er een prachtige vide waar je dicht bij de kok heerlijk kunt dineren. Beneden is een hele gezellige bar. Personeel allemaal super vriendelijk en de gerechten heerlijk. We komen zeker nog eens terug naar deze verborgen parel.

Heel prima plek om te eten, op een onverwachte plek.

Enorm lekker met onze dochter, schoonzoon en ouders gegeten. Heerlijk Chateau Briand waarbij de behorende saus aan tafel met uitleg door te flamberen wordt bereid. Heerlijke gerechten, gezellige inrichting en enorm gastvrij personeel. Echt een avondje uit en volop genieten. Kleine tip! Probeer wel wat ruimte over te houden voor een dessert, in ons geval waren de Crêpes Suzette mijn favoriet en de saus werd nu ook weer onder ons toeziend oog aan tafel geflambeerd. Helaas zijn we vergeten de saus van de Chateau Briand die nog over was en wel door de gastvrouw voor ons was weggezet vergeten mee te nemen, maar dat halen we de volgende keer wel in.

Sehr freundliches Personal, lässt einen auch umsonst aufs Klo :-)

Hervorragende Küche, es gab immer wieder kleine apetizer aus der Küche und auch einen Aperitif aufs Haus. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das beste Restaurant was ich in Amsterdam bisher besucht habe.

Eten klassiek maar erg lekker klaar gemaakt. Bediening erg vriendelijk.. alleen is het meubilair en de inrichting wel wat verouderd waardoor je hier misschien snel voorbij loopt terwijl het zeker de moeite waard is!

Op suggestie van mijn vriendin hier een hapje wezen eten, en dat was een fantastische keuze. Vriendelijk en betrokken personeel, met wie je een gezellig babbeltje kan hebben tussen de gangen door. Ik heb enorm genoten van de coquilles en eendenbout, de chocolademousse was de perfecte afsluiter daarna. Alles aan de avond voelde perfect, zeker een aanrader.

Hier vind je gezelligheid en heerlijk eten . De bediening is heel vriendelijk, kundig, snel en grappig. Ik kan dit restaurant iedereen aanbevelen

Vroeger kwamen we hier zeer regelmatig. Ben Koppen was de eigenaar en Silvio stond in de keuken. Silvio staat nu aan het roer. Good old times, heerlijk gegeten. Tot snel weer.

Un ptit wk à Amsterdam et la découverte de ce superbe restaurant. Un belle accueil Les patrons et le personnels sont super sympa, une petite carte ,mais largement suffisant. Les plats et sauces sont cuisinés devant vous . Je recommande sans hésiter

Heerlijk gegeten. Begonnen aan de bar en mooie avond met 4 vrienden waar het personeel ons rustig door de avond begeleide. Verborgen parel, have fun.

Our first dinner in Amsterdam was wonderful!! We found this restaurant through a YouTube video and were amazed at the food and especially the service. All the staff recommendations were delicious. The restaurant is near Vondelpark in the Museumplein district. We had a nice walk back to our hotel through the park. What a wonderful night!!

Wat een (her)ontdekking, dit restaurant. Hier vind je Oud-Hollandsche gezelligheid, heerlijk eten en dat voor een scherpe prijs. De bediening is heel vriendelijk, kundig, snel en grappig. Kies vooral voor de sausbereiding aan tafel! Ik kom hier graag terug!

Zeer attente bediening, veel aandacht voor je welbevinden, je voelde je echt de gast, een grote aanrader.

Een avond om nooit te vergeten. Bij binnenkomst wordt je vriendelijk ontvangen. Geen snerende vraag of je wel gereserveerd hebt. Na een borrel aan de bar met je gezelschap aan tafel waar je geniet van heerlijk eten, aardige bediening en wat entertainment op zijn tijd. We komen zeker terug‼️

Zeer gezellig en voor iedereen die van chateaubriand houdt een echte aanrader. Die saus........
