Restaurant Lavash in De Weteringschans

A nice out of the way restaurant we found, we mostly opted for pasta all of which tastes very good with creamy sauces and fresh ingredients. The salad was done well too with crispy vegatables and fresh cherry tomatoes and avocado. The cherry tomatoes were noted to be quite sweet as well. Outdoor seating was pleasant and the area is fairly quiet during the day. Prices were reasonable.

Very pleasant evening. Tasty meals, excellent wine and a nice staff. We were very satisfied.

Had a delicious meal, top restaurant

My mother and I ate here yesterday and really enjoyed it. Beforehand, we had walked into another place that didn't appeal to us in terms of atmosphere. We walked in here and were immediately greeted warmly. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. The food was also delicious (avocado salad, ricotta ravioli, truffle penne). We only had a little over an hour and everything was served very quickly. I recommend taking a little extra time for this gem in Amsterdam!!

Lavash is a great place to eat for a break from all of the fried food in amsterdam. They had lovely hummus, dips and salads.

Not our first time eating there, but certainly not our last. Had a lovely time sitting on the terrace. Everyone on the staff was really nice and enthusiastic. Delicious food! Great atmosphere.

We had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was cozy, the service was friendly and attentive, and all the dishes were beautifully presented. The pasta was absolutely amazing — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Definitely one of the best dishes we had. The only thing I would suggest improving is the calamari. It seemed to be a little overcooked, causing the breading to fall apart. With that small adjustment, the dish would be perfect. Overall, everything was excellent. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Tried both chicken kip souvlaki and lamshaas and tzatzki and bread as side / starter. Everything tasted great. The bread basket had a few lavash bread slices and another bread they tasted great. All in all would strongly recommend Lavash Restaurant and would definitely try them again next time in Amsterdam.

Food honestly was a disappointment. My peri-peri chicken had no peri-peri flavor at all (it was basically a basic grilled chicken with some burnt spots). Hummus was good. Overall the prices are inflated for what you get: hummus €10, Peri-peri chicken €26.50. I wanted to get their tasting plate of 3 appetizers, but €34 for the Lavash mix seemed way overpriced. Honestly, I wish we'd eaten somewhere else. I make a better basic grilled chicken at home.

I usually order ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta at an Italian restaurant. But at Lavash, this was by far the best version I have ever eaten. Delicious wine and good coffee!

We walked into Lavash around 8 on a Monday and sat outside right away. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Though we sat outside, the ambience inside seemed lovely! Highly recommend.

Delicious food and great service!

We tried the Lavash mix and Lavash plate and they were perfect.

We went here for dinner on April 29th with a group of 14 people. Friendly service, nice cocktails, and some dishes were really okay. But we found the "lamb tenderloin" anything but good. Instead of a nice piece of medium-rare lamb, we received 7 small pieces of overcooked meat, for which they charged €32.50! Fortunately, I checked the bill at the end, because due to a mistake with another table, we were charged almost 200 euros too much.

Friendly authentic with great food

My friend was a firefighter during 9/11, and if these porkchops were waiting for him on the 847th floor, he would have made it out alive 10000/10 highly recommend But in all seriousness: I did not expect to find something this good right in the middle of the city center. Usually those spots can be a bit hit or miss, but this place completely surprised me. It has this Mediterranean feel to it, both in the food and the overall vibe. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and everything was just really really good. The skewers were insanely flavorful and perfectly cooked, and you can tell there is a big focus on quality meats from different regions. Not a single plate missed. Also, I never order pasta when I go out, but I am so glad I did here because it ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night (which says a lot). I would genuinely go back just for that. The cocktails deserve their own moment. They are all so beautifully made that it is actually hard to choose. I tried their signature cocktail with wine and cognac (which I had never had before) and it was so unique and perfectly balanced. Not too strong, not too sweet, just really well done. The space itself is beautiful too. There is a really nice terrace, everything feels very well organized, and the whole place has this elevated but still relaxed atmosphere that just makes you want to stay. On top of all that, the portions were great for sharing and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.

Really nice restaurant, a cut above the rest of the local eateries. Food was excellent, the best we have had in Amsterdam, service was though a little slow, perhaps intentionally so as to be more relaxed, did not detract from the overall experience and we would happily eat there again.

Such a lovely and authentic restaurant in the middle of the city center. The most amazing Armenian meats and their traditional honey cake Marlenka! Love it with the girls!!!

The decor and service were positive, but the food didn't live up to expectations. The lamb and side dishes were cold, which was a shame. Furthermore, the pizza was pre-cooked/frozen and was also served cold after being baked. It's not very appealing to return when the temperature of the food isn't maintained in such a beautiful place. It certainly confirms the myth that you can't eat like you do in Spain anywhere else.

Lavash lives up to its name: a frozen four-cheese pizza for 18 euros. A 500ml bottle of water for 6 euros. The dishes don't arrive at the same time. Avoid it.

Recommend going for the tapas and sharing! Water was a bit expensive though… :/

Very pleasant place. The staff is very attentive and the service is quick. The baba ganoush, the prawns, and even the pasta dishes were all very good. Highly recommended.

We had a meal for two, the price was average, it's in a very central location near the park, and the options were delicious. It was great to be able to communicate in Turkish, the staff were friendly, and there were different kinds of dishes. I recommend it.

Great restaurant. There is a wide range of food - meat, fish, pasta and pizza. We ordered soup , which was written clear noodle soup, but sadly it was more similar to tomato soup. Then I ordered the kebab , which was super good, just 27eur is way too expensive for a small portion . The hummus and tzatziki was super delicious, definitely recommend! The service was great - lovely servers 😆 The atmosphere is nice and cozy, however at the time we were there, there was a table of Americans shouting through out the restaurant which was super annoying 🙂

Lovely Mediterranean place with special lavash bread and cold and warm mezze, as well as some bigger dishes. Very kid friendly - provided colouring books and pencils and waiters were friendly and patient. Also had gluten free lavash alternative flatbread so my Coeliac wife ate well too.

I celebrated my birthday at this establishment on Saturday and wanted to share my impressions. I was truly amazed by how warmly we were greeted and the excellent service. My 15 guests and I were absolutely delighted with the evening: everything was fast, delicious, and very attentive. Our glasses were always full, the atmosphere was incredibly comfortable, and we truly enjoyed every moment. You want to return to places like this again and again. Portion size to price is incredibly bad and the food quality doesn't compensate the price

Excellent food, excellent service. We arrived almost 30 mins late for our reservation but they graciously and quickly found us a great table. We ordered many dishes and they remembered everything and brought it quickly. Food was amazing. Service was fast and attentive.

In a high-priced country like the Netherlands, their cuisine offers a homely yet hearty Italian flair. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the service is warm and sophisticated, and the overall experience is very well-balanced with the price. It's a place where you can sit down and enjoy a hearty meal, paying comfortably and pleasantly. In fact, I had lunch here during a recent luxury river cruise tour. The appetizers were so enticing that I was captivated just by looking at them. So, during my extended trip, I returned for dinner and was once again amazed. Without a doubt, I will definitely come back. Moreover, there are clearly many regulars here; everyone sits comfortably, and the staff's timely and attentive service between tables is truly delightful.

A fine restaurant with fresh, well-prepared dishes. Good wine for the connoisseur as well. The place is spotless, and the furniture is excellent. Definitely worth a visit in an area consisting mainly of pizzerias.

A gem on Korte Leidsedwarsstraat. Delicious, good portions of tapas, shareable by the number of diners. There were three of us, and we received three lamb chops and three risotto balls, etc. Lovely, relaxed service, excellent wines, and the background music was loud enough to make conversation pleasant. Highly recommended. The value for money is excellent!

I reserved a table here on my 2 day trip to amsterdam with my girlfriend. We were honestly humbly surprised by how good this place was! We had a canal tour before hand and walked to here. its very nice and easy to walk to this area but theres also trams that run nearby. We had a table at 8 and it was very quiet compared to the neighbouring restaurants. The interior was very nice and cozy. The waitress that helped us was very welcoming and very friendly. The waiter that brought our food was also a very friendly and funny guy. The guy speaks English, russian and i can only assume Arabic since he was from egypt but thats an assumption. Anyhow, a very kind and funny guy! The menu has plenty of options so everyone can have something to their taste. Italian, Spanish, Turkish, etc. We took a kebab, lasagna, honeycake and a cheesecake. They were all extremely good, especially considering the relatively low price. And of course, they serve lavash with almost every meal but you can ask for a seperate plate of extra lavash if you want. And it was good! We will definetly come back here the next time were in Amsterdam. 10/10, can recommend!

We came across this cosy, inviting restaurant after a day of sightseeing in Amsterdam, and in need of some warmth and comfort food. Lavash did not disappoint. Fehim, our waiter was gorgeous, and certainly went to great lengths to ensure we got extra breads for our 3 homemade delicious dips, and the choices of dips we specifically requested. 2-3 bread options and replenished so we could finish every tasty last bite. We also had the chicken noodle soup and the red lentil soup. Both divine! Honestly they tasted just like those soups your Mum/Grandmother made, and warmed us to the core. Thick and full of flavour, they were exactly what we felt like. The greek salad and lasagne too were just delicious. Clearly each dish is made with care and attention, not bulk made and defrosted. The atmosphere was warm and cosy and staff very friendly and welcoming. We had some delicious Armenian red wine too, and the boys enjoyed the beer options. We'd like to thank Fehim specifically for his delightful nature and great service. Not intrusive, and always knew when to replenish our glasses. We will definitely return when next in Amsterdam.

Lavash is a very nice and cosy restaurant close to Leidseplein. Atmosphere: The interior is beautiful, clean and cosy. The sound level is very comfortable. We spent more than two hours here and truly enjoyed every minute. Service: The staff are kind, polite and very helpful. You can feel they do their job with passion and joy. Food: We ordered several small mezze dishes. The portions are small (as intended — you order multiple dishes to share) and everything was very tasteful and well-prepared. We even received a limoncello from the house, which was a lovely touch. Price: For the centre of Amsterdam, we had a complete dinner for around €110. We think it was worth every euro.

We went there because it serves Mediterranean food. It's a little far from Amsterdam Centraal Station, but it's in a tourist area with restaurants. There's also a casino nearby. We had lasagna, salad, spare ribs, fried shrimp, and what appear to be meatballs. Most of the customers were tourists rather than locals, so the prices were a little high. If you ask me if it was incredibly delicious, I'd say it was just average. It wasn't bad at all, so if you have a large group, it would be good to share. The staff were very friendly! Both the waiter and the person working at the counter were very friendly! Taste is important, but I think these kinds of things also affect the flavor! I think Japanese people will like the taste, so if you're interested, it's worth going!

The tasting was delicious, the ice cream was amazing, I'd never tasted anything so delicious. The service was excellent, very hospitable.

Had dinner with the family tonight. The chicken piripiri, chicken souvlaki, and burgers were good. My wife had a tasting menu of three cold and three hot dishes. The hot dishes: squid rings, marinated chicken pieces, and filo rolls. The cold dishes: a bowl of hummus, a bowl of tatziki, and tomato salsa. I don't think these are cold dishes. Too bad, and that for €34.

I recently ate at Lavash in Amsterdam, and it was truly delicious. We even got free shots at the end, which was a nice bonus. Our host was super friendly and worked quickly, something I personally find very important. What really matters to me is hygiene, and that was absolutely spot on at Lavash: everything was neat and clean. I also think the prices are fair for what you get, especially for Amsterdam. If I ever go back to Amsterdam, I'll definitely be back. Photos will be included with this review.

We ordered mantı (Turkish dumplings), they tasted good but the portion was very small, smaller than a teacup.
