Went to the restaurant after I saw via JRE Restaurants that Restaurant Lazuli was listed (with an ING deal that was in May/June). I also wanted to celebrate my birthday in advance that day. That worked out very well, I also got a delicious pastry (burnt lemon meringue and baba au rhum if I'm correct) and a nice birthday card that they wrote on. The dishes were (as they also indicate) seasonal, such as the rhubarb. You could therefore also notice that the dishes complemented each other nicely (in terms of ingredients and taste). I also chose to do a food-and-wine pairing for half with the other half a 'food-and-tea pairing' (also to discover as much as possible in the world of flavors). The gyokuro tea tasted very special and also tasty (I looked it up later and it does indeed have a very strong umami flavor). Furthermore, I really liked the service and they were also very passionate about their work and sharing their knowledge (like when I asked what the function is of each different cheese knife). Also the specific attention around the dishes (plates, Laguiole knife for firm meat etc.) is nice to see. I think they also have sustainability as a priority, like that they try to waste as little of an animal as possible (so use all parts of an animal as much as possible).

Creative dishes, surprising flavours, and also a feast for the eyes. The wines completed it, I especially liked the elderflower. The amuses and crayfish were my favourite. The cheese wheel was a nice touch. During the evening you don't have to think about anything. Time between courses was perfect and your water is neatly refilled. So you can really enjoy the experience and each other. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Tonight we had dinner at Lazuli in Enschede and what a great experience! From the first amuse to the dessert everything was perfectly balanced. The combinations of wine and dishes were sublime – especially the wine with the Viermarken amuse and the one with the rhubarb dessert were truly excellent. We tasted craftsmanship, creativity and love for the profession in every course. The atmosphere was relaxed and stylish, the service friendly and knowledgeable. For us this was even better than our recent experience at Joann – and that says something. An absolute must for those looking for refinement without fuss. We will definitely be back!

Ate here for the first time 4 months ago, today for a second time, but with my parents. Since I can't write a second review, now a recent review. Food: great, unique flavor combinations and special preparation of ingredients! Atmosphere: ambiance is cozy and quite intimate. Staff: hospitality is very high. You notice that in everything. Everyone is spontaneous, talkative and knowledgeable. They know how to explain everything well, good explanations of the wines and the food. We once again enjoyed it immensely and will definitely come back.

We chose a 4 course menu. Was very disappointing. Far too salty, far too fatty, far too small portions (fortunately, because we didn't like the food.) The chicken was tasty. The ice cream tasted like water. The fish was way too salty and oily. The kohlrabi was swimming in the oil. We didn't see any vegetables. Processed in fatty sauces. There is no pasta, rice or potatoes. The bread was very greasy. They were kind enough to bring a different type of sandwich. Let's go eat something at home later.

Ate here on the recommendation of friends. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and placed at a table. Because we like to sit next to each other, Marijn immediately 'remodeled' another table (in a corner) so that we could still sit next to each other. The 5-course menu (+ cheese = highly recommended) was perfect from the first amuse to the friandises. Service also as it should be, perfectly sensed what was possible. Matching wines (not with every dish) also great. All in all we had a great night out. I would even book it for a hotel nearby. Price-quality very good! Keep it up and we will definitely be back!

All in all a mixed experience. The fish dishes were very good, especially the pike-perch with crab salad. However, the sweetbreads were not crispy and, in my opinion, a bit overcooked. For me, the dish with venison lacked salt in all elements, except the sauce, which I found very salty. The dessert provided a pleasant, creative and balanced end to the evening. Service is very friendly and knowledgeable! In my opinion, price-quality ratio is not great, especially considering the price increase and nearby alternatives.

I had made a reservation for Boxing Day, but I got the flu and was in bed with a fever. Didn't think about canceling the reservation at all. I called the restaurant back the next day and apologized. However, I was spoken to as an associate and immediately started talking about cancellation costs. I have just received an email including an invoice for €70.00. I've never eaten here, only heard bad stories about the staff and owners. I wanted to give this restaurant a chance, but now I understand the extreme rude behavior and I will certainly never make a reservation here again. Had a very rude telephone conversation with the 'owner'. I have never had such a bad experience with a restaurant. For me, this restaurant is really at the bottom of the ladder, it's better to go to McDonalds because they are even friendlier there.

I forgot to mention that 1 person has different allergies, the chef has adapted the dishes for the person with allergies. Very neat since I arrived too late with this. After becoming big fans during previous visits, we returned to @restaurant.lazuli in Enschede on the advice of catering owners and other foodies. This great restaurant is run by a young enthusiastic couple: Tim in the kitchen and Marijn as fromarger 🧀 and maître. What talent they have!! They have only been open for two years and every time we think things can't get any better, they get better with each visit, wow!! 🤩 They have really built up an established name: they won the Golden Duyt at the Proef Eet and have become "the go to" when it comes to luxury dining in Enschede. We are really fans of the quality and complexity of the food, the courses are wonderfully daring and slightly different 🔥 we love strong and distinct flavors. In addition, the atmosphere is casual and the service is truly a well-oiled machine in which you will not be short of anything 👏🏻 for us, the ingredients for a perfect evening! Last Saturday we enjoyed 3 delicious appetizers beforehand and then went for 7 courses with cheese from the beautiful cheese cart and finally enjoyed coffee and friandises. Unfortunately not a good experience for us. We made a reservation for 7 people (6 adults + 1 child). Upon arrival, the chef came to us to discuss the menu. We told them that we were going for 6x 6 courses and we asked if they could prepare a small dish with fish or meat for the little one. The answer was that we put the restaurant in a difficult situation and because they brought a child instead of an adult, they missed out on €300 (which seems very high to us for one person). The feeling was immediately gone and unfortunately we could no longer enjoy the evening. The food was fine, but the atmosphere and the way we were spoken to meant that unfortunately this was our only and last time at Lazuli restaurant.

Heard a lot about it and so now I put it to the test. Beautiful experience, beautiful dishes, nice e service, great cheeses. Good wines. But still 4 stars, the taste experience could be a bit more convincing in my opinion.

Had a great meal last Friday. It starts with a friendly welcome, after which you are offered a glass of bubbly and possibly an oyster. You can choose between 4, 5 or 6 courses. Three appetizers, brioche and sourdough bread were served. We opted for a five-course menu, and what a treat it was. Enjoyed every dish incredibly, with a good explanation of what is on your plate and why it was paired with a particular wine. Almost everything is local, and very well prepared. All in all, very satisfied with the experience as a whole, and the food in particular. If you want to eat out again, I would highly recommend Lazuli.

Yesterday we were at Lazuli. We had the six course menu with a wine pairing. I don't like the location of the restaurant, but that just takes care of the only minor drawback. Once inside you immediately forget about that. The hostess and service were excellent. A nice welcome, attentive throughout the evening (with a sense of the right moment to be attentive) and knowledgeable. The dishes are made with exclusively Dutch products and, in our opinion, arrived at exactly the right pace. We did not use the cheese or coffee after the six courses and enjoyed it for a little more than 3 hours. Lazuli goes for pure flavors: each ingredient is minimally processed, so that taste and structure are retained. The plates are beautifully laid out, and the dressing or sauce is often added when serving at the table, after it has been explained what the ingredients are, how it is prepared and why this combination was chosen. The matching wine is served just before serving the dish, with an explanation of why the wine goes so well with the dish. This also makes you curious about the next dish. My personal favorite was the dessert: rhubarb, goat cheese and honey, but actually every dish was excellent. Also the oysters, which you can order individually in addition to your chosen menu, and the appetizers that accompany the menu. every dish is clearly considered equally important and this institution really deserves a compliment because it is sometimes different. It was a very successful evening.

That's fine in itself, but afterwards you will be charged €5 per person for changing dishes. They don't indicate that in the question. Furthermore, the food looks very nice and the taste is excellent.

Update (March 8, 2024) Lazuli remains such a wonderful place. We see a clear development towards apparently simple dishes, which are increasingly prepared at the table, but are real flavor bombs that clearly require a lot more work than you would initially think. We try to use local products and as many products from the Netherlands as possible. For example, vanilla and wasabi grown in the Netherlands were included in our menu! used. Surprising wines are served with the menu. A lot of effort is made to purchase wines from small wine companies. You won't see this anywhere else anytime soon. In short, we had another wonderful evening. Oh, I almost forgot. The homemade brioche bread is to die for. Wow! Fantastic meal with delicious, unusual wine accompaniment. Eating in a cozy casual atmosphere. Fantastic, homemade sourdough bread. We will come back for dinner soon.
