Restaurant Percy's in Wijk 10 Binnenstad

A small but wonderful restaurant serving delicious, traditional Surinamese dishes. A very friendly staff member explained all the dishes to us. We weren't disappointed; everyone (including the kids) really enjoyed the food. Thank you for the lovely visit; we'll definitely be back.

Very tasty food and delicious snacks. I can recommend the peanut soup and the chicken sticks with peanut sauce, which are delicious. The waitress was very nice and explained everything on the menu.

I have nothing to complain about. It was sooooo delicious. The price is totally reasonable, too. The waiter explained the entire menu! It just goes to show that even the most inconspicuous things can be the best.

Had a great meal at Percy's in Hoorn. Simple restaurant with delicious dishes. And for a great price!

I didn't try any of the meals, so that's for someone else to judge. I had a layer cake and soursop. It's delicious on a hot day! The atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Delicious food, lots of it, reasonable prices, a pearl

We had to wait over 35 minutes for two plates of food. After 20 minutes, we asked for it, and it took a while longer. The food was fine, but the price/quality ratio was not right. Furthermore, we weren't asked for a second round of drinks.

The roti was way too salty. Such a shame.

I love this place, the people that make it and the food they serve. So homey. So tasty. So kind. And they have one of the best chilli sauces I have ever tasted: just ask for madame jannette peper. Plus they deliver very fast most of the time.

Fantastische service aardig personeel, eten is fantastisch kan er zeker niet over klagen, als er over is neem ik het ook altijd graag mee om nog een keer van te genieten

Nice place, but a pity that they use Wijko satay sauce. Says enough if they can't make satay sauce themselves.

Some days the food at Percy's is a 6, other days it's a 10. Quality is not consistent but usually good. Unfortunately, parts of the order are often forgotten, such as extra roti plates.

Zo'n 1,5 jaar geleden waren wij op dit adres voor een afhaalmaaltijd. Aangename verrassing, toen. Nu kwamen we in de middag in de buurt en bedachten .. vanavond westrijden EK Voetbal .. koken komt er niet van. Dus weer maaltijden meegenomen, resp. een nasi rames en een bami ramis speciaal. Even voor het voetbalscherm culinair commentaar .. heerlijke gerechten, perfect bereid .. indonesisch met een tikje invloed Suriname. Lekker hoor! Aardige mensen die hier werken .. heel redelijke prijzen .. lekker eten. Je kan ook gewoon in het kleine restaurant eten ipv afhalen. Eens doen ..

We ordered food for delivery. Was right on time and tasted delicious. Highly recommended.

Ambiance really a 0! But the fumble table was delicious!

Delivery was a bit long, but I can honestly say, the food is delicious, really well made, good to see that Purcy is still doing well

Bad.... Delivery took 2 hours, still lukewarm and the sweet and sour cucumber is really very dirty. Made with fake sugar, so too sweet and the meaty aftertaste lingers for a little too long...

Surinamese restaurant in Hoorn, worth a try! Delicious Surinamese dishes, tasty drinks.

Had dinner here with a group of 15 people for a reunion with my father. Nicely decorated with the help of Surinamese souvenirs. Looked more like a brown café, but it got by. The service was friendly but lacks catering experience. A number of people had to wait a long time for their food, while some had almost finished eating. If you eat Surinamese food, you have a certain frame of reference regarding the taste. It certainly wasn't close. On my side of the table, 5 people agree that the food was not Surinamese in taste. Now you can give a twist to dishes, but the basic taste must be recognizable from home. Some dishes were very salty. Moksi alesi specially made from a kind of nasi kuning with stir-fried vegetables, cod (too salty and not pre-cooked) and ketjap chicken (?). Sorry, that's not moksi alesi! Nasi with roasted chicken from the oven. The nasi was passable, but it didn't taste the way it should. The chicken is the same, but it is also just not good in terms of taste. Too bad, but Percy's unfortunately doesn't get a good review from me. Better study the recipes (The Great Surinamese Cookbook) and look for a good school to present the right flavors. And I would change the menu. Some combinations are nice, but give it a different name and, for example, no Moksi alesi if it has nothing to do with Surinamese cuisine. You do not provide a correct frame of reference to people who do not know real Surinamese cuisine or do not know it well enough.

Whilst visiting the Netherlands, we wanted to try Surinamese food and this was the only place we found in Hoorn. This is also a takeaway place and the inside of the restaurant is very low key. I had rice, cod and veg and my partner had a combo dish served with roti. The food was delicious. Well recommended!

Maar eens Surinaams proberen, naast roti wat de meeste mensen wel kennen. Zodoende de frommeltafel afgehaald en die beviel erg goed.

Lekker eten vriendelijke bediening

Heerlijk gegeten, goed vlees en super lekker gekruid. Alleen de authentieke geuren al die in het restaurant hangen… Zeer goed te betalen en ruim voldoende. Perfect voor een luie zondagavond.

Vorweg: am Vorabend waren wir in einem Restaurant mit guten Bewertungen, schönem, stilvollen Ambiente, sehr gutem Service und toller Speisekarte. Nach dem Essen waren wir wegen mangelnder Qualität sehr enttäuscht und mussten trotzdem die überzogenen Preise schlucken. Das Percy's, das wir aus Neugier auf surinamesisches Essen ausgewählt haben, ist das Gegenteil: zusammengewürfelte Einrichtung, Speisekarte in Plastik und der Service vergisst auch mal ein Getränk, aber: wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt und sehr gut zubereitete und gewürzte Speisen gegessen. Sowohl das Roti Moski wie auch mein Gericht mit Reis und Hühnchen, dessen Namen ich leider vergessen habe, waren ein Genuss, reichlich bemessen und den Preis mehr als wert. Wir freuen uns auf das nächste Mal!

Eten was wel veel maar matig van smaak. Kregen andere invulling dan ons was vermeld dat we zouden krijgen. Weet niet of we hier nog terugkomen.

The best Surinam food in town,i went with some friends to eat there and we really enjoy the food,we will be going again for sure.

Eten verbasend goed heerlijk surinaams. Aanrader neem van alles wat. Heerlijke cocktails. De sfeer binnen kan veel beter mooier aantrekkelijker. Hier en daar een kleurtje, wat leuke dingen aan de wand en hoppa 2023. Leuke mensen. Die pinda soep Wauw!

Afhaal diner .. van Percy's. Kleine zaak, afhalen, maar je kunt er ook iets eten. Kleine kaart, Surinaamse keuken maar men biedt ook gerechten uit de Indonesische keuken. Heel redelijke prijzen, zeker ook gezien de ruimhartige porties. Wij kozen een Nassi Rames .. uitstekend. Prachtig gekruide kip, lekkere rendang. De gebakken rijst verraadt de Surinaamse invloed .. weer eens wat anders. Heel lekker en een gewaardeerde variant. Erg goed gegeten, genoeg over voor morgen. Gaan zeker terug!

Snelle bezorging, maar eten viel helaas tegen… Rotirol met een keiharde kouseband en koud bij aankomst en geen smaak. Gebakken banaan was niet krokant, en zacht van binnen, maar keihard net alsof het er al een paar uur afgekoeld lag. Kipnuggets waren zacht en nat en de patat ook. Red Velvet brownie was een chemische bende. Helaas 1 keer en nooit weer.

Gezellig terras, vriendelijk personeel

Het eten is lekker(simpel),maar wel wat duur! Pindasoep 8 euro. Het interieur was verouderd en niet helemaal schoon. Bediening was prima.

Het eten is er grandioos lekker

Prima om af te halen. Hebben ook vaak too good to go. Wel vaak een zooitje binnen. (Gezellig, maar aan mij niet besteed om daar te eten).

Heerlijk gegeten, broodje pittige kip is een aanrader.

Heerlijk in een sfeervolle ambiance gegeten, het eten is heerlijk !!! Ook fijn dat je je catering hier kunt laten regelen! Wij komen zeker terug 🤔🤗

Roti Lams vanavond. Jesus die was te lekker

Bezorging duurt erg lang! Meer dan 1,5 uur moeten wachten op een door de weekse dag. Jammer dat er op de site geen info staat over gerechten en fotos. Eten is prima. Gebeld en prima opgelost

Een kleine bestelling gedaan terwijl ik aan de overkant aan de bar zat. Lekker hapjes, prima smaken en leuke prijzen.

We just moved from Amsterdam 2 months ago and slowly trying out local food places here in Hoorn. Percy's is the tastiest food so far that we have tried and can't wait to work our way through the menu and also eat at the restaurant 🙂 Cheers!
