Amazing experience! I celebrated my birthday at RED and had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent — everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The Surf & Turf was definitely the highlight of the evening. 🥩🦞 The staff were also absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. They really made the evening feel special. Great food, fantastic service, and a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely come back! ❤️

A particularly pleasant experience. In addition to hospitality and friendly staff, we also had a delicious meal. I was very pleased that there were various vegetarian dishes on the menu that were also very tasty. Definitely a restaurant to visit again. The indicated price per person includes drinks. Amazing place, amazing food, even better vibes. Yevhen and the team tonight were absolutely amazing and really top notch, the food is always, and I mean always, on point. I’ve here for more than 9 years, to date the best and quaintest place I’ve found in the inner city. Not our first time, definitely not our last. Thank you! I don’t have many photos, but let me try to describe how lovely this place is. The food is very good and the service is fast. The wine list isn’t huge, but it offers enough variety. And they even keep their vodkas in the fridge 🥰 The prices are quite reasonable as well. The only thing that could be improved is the ventilation inside the restaurant. Other than that, I would happily come back again and again.

A lovely, welcoming restaurant. The glazed duck I chose was excellent, as was the roast lamb my husband chose. The fries are free. The crème brûlée is also excellent. The staff is very kind and friendly.

Excellent service. The food was excellent! They hadn't mentioned the nuts with the Lava Cake, so they brought one for my partner at their expense. The chef came to check before and after to make sure the cake was to our liking. We highly recommend it!

Don't be put off by the low Google Maps rating because this place is absolutely excellent. The inside is super cute, but the outside is even more beautiful, surrounded by all the greenery that makes Amsterdam so special. The tartare was absolutely delicious, and the tuna was beautifully red and fresh. Everything was also presented beautifully. Great Prosecco from Veneto, and the girl who served me was very kind and professional. Don't fall for the overly touristy places — this one is a real hidden a gem! 🇮🇹

Terrible food and rude service. I order a salmon roll and am served a small, burnt croissant filled with still-cold shrimp, with a side of fries. I ask the waitress about it, who goes to the kitchen and returns with a shameful excuse. She also arrogantly adds that I'm rude. Absolutely avoid.

The food was delicious but a bit out of balance. There was way too much chicken and bacon in the Caesar salad. A bit too much.

Food used to be 5 stars, bring back Margaritas, also, bring back oringal burgers. Don't have staff eating at booth when it's rush hour. Hope it changes by next April.

We spontaneously came to have burgers, didn’t have to wait. Food was good, bottomless fries included, service a bit improvised but friendly.

Fine classics on the menu; enjoyed delicious snails and Tournedos Rossini with duck liver. Detail: the streak knife had no serrations, exactly as it should, as this allows you to cut the meat instead of tearing it as happens with a serrated knife.

Friendly staff, attentive service, and very thoughtful presentation. The lobster was very good, though it was a shame the oysters were served on ice, but they were warm and already peeled.

Excellent restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, recommended for those who want tender meats and excellent lobster. I tried the lamb and fillet, which were so tender I barely needed a knife. The atmosphere was French bistro-style, romantic, and the cocktails were excellent and beautifully presented, like my Mimosa.

After the experience at restaurant Blu, now to Red. Everything was excellent! Here too, the service was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was fine. Although I do think the prices are on the high side. For a tournedos, I would suggest adding some vegetables to the presentation instead of just meat on a large plate with salt and pepper. All in all, a great experience.

During a week stay in Amsterdam, we ate 3 dinners and a lunch here. The food was always good. In particular, the duck confit and sweet potato fries with parmesan and truffle sauce for me and the burger with roquefort cheese for my husband.

Celebrated our birthday dinner at Restaurant Red and it was incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere was perfect, the service was flawless, and the food… honestly on another level. Everything we ordered was so good that we didn’t want to eat the same dishes anywhere else afterwards because we knew nothing would compare. Our server was outstanding — polite, knowledgeable, and spot‑on with recommendations. You could tell they really knew the menu and cared about making the experience special. An unforgettable meal and a perfect birthday celebration. Highly recommend.

Not the worst, but definitely overpriced. Would not recommend. We were a party of 4. One of the very few vegetarian options was finished for the day so both my partner and I had a vegan burger (23 euros each) with a sub-par patty which was burnt, fast food bread and pretty average (frozen) fries too. Our two friends got a Caesar salad and a goat cheese salad and both of them were mediocre at best, with some choices being quite pointless, such as a lonely waffle (the ones you get in ice cream) on the sides. Worst of all was 8 euro 75cl bottle of still water and 6 euro bread, which, as you can see in the picture, is frozen garlic bread, straight from a supermarket frozen section. We did not have any desserts or order anything else as what we had until that point was disappointing. It was 35ish per person with just a main dish and drink. The price is alright overall for the area but outrageous considering the quality of the food.

16 years ago, we dined here to celebrate our first anniversary. Back then, we enjoyed the best and most tender tournedos I have ever eaten. For my birthday, my husband decided to surprise me with dinner at RED, this time together with our son. Upon arrival, we were politely informed that there was only one person in the kitchen. As a result, we had to wait a little longer for our food, but we didn't mind that in itself. What we did find very disappointing, however, was that the meat was completely lacking in the quality we remembered from the past. Compared to our previous visit, that was a real letdown. Fortunately, our son did enjoy his meal. The glazed carrot was very tasty and the staff was friendly and helpful. But because we had returned specifically for the tournedos, we found it particularly unfortunate that the quality of the meat was so disappointing. Consequently, the overall experience was less than expected.

Fine restaurant, but has the atmosphere of a cafe. Very charming service by a dark-blonde waitress. Could be cleaned a bit better and the restaurant could use some more warm lighting. The veggie burger was very good.

"The staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly—huge thanks to them for their service! That said, the venue could definitely use a renovation. The floors, benches, and carpets looked a bit worn and dirty, and there were wine boxes untidily stacked near the kitchen entrance. The food is still tasty, but having visited years ago, I noticed a slight drop in quality. The Surf and Turf used to feature a much meatier and tastier lobster tail instead of the current half lobster, and the fries are now frozen rather than fresh-cut. However, the tenderloin remains excellent and perfectly cooked. Overall, it's still a good spot for a nice meal, but it didn't quite live up to the high standards of my previous visits."

We went there a couple times for brunch during our 4 days stay in Amsterdam. The coffee and food are excellent. The restaurant is beautiful and service was great. We love it so much that we went back again for the 2nd time.

Nicely decorated, cozy little restaurant. However, lunch dishes are meager compared to the prices. And the portion of fries is also very small. A shame, because it tastes really good. Nice decor, good location. The dishes match the menu descriptions, and you can translate the menu into different languages ​​using the QR code. We were seated despite a full book. The menu wasn't brought for 10-15 minutes, but our friendly tablemates offered theirs, so we moved on to choosing main courses from the menu. We chose half a lobster and a steak, as well as a leg of confit... the lobster was delicious! The steak is a solid 4, but the leg of confit was overdried, and the sauce wasn't great (in my subjective opinion). Overall, the place is okay, but if you have other options, go for it. I won't go again. Overall, a 3.

Not great… but educational. We arranged to meet for lunch and – entirely against my nature – arrived a bit early. That immediately gave me the chance to quietly observe that communication here is a sort of experimental concept. After asking twice, the waitstaff finally managed to produce: *“only English…”* — which is fine in itself, provided that English actually exists. Reservation? “Not found.” We took a quick look at the system together: there it was, quite cheerfully, at the top. But anyway, details. Because the place was practically empty (Wednesday afternoon, no surprise), I picked out a table myself. Flexibility is important, after all. The recommended wine turned out to be sold out — a classic. Alternative: an Austrian wine with a label so blank it almost became philosophical. Question: “Could you tell me something about this?” Answer: *“no sorry… only English.”* That was starting to become a kind of running gag by now. The waiter claimed he had just started his shift, but his shirt was already due for replacement, the stains were very wrinkled, and the top four buttons were wide open. Very “macho,” a little less “restaurant service.” Then the food: there was exactly one Caesar salad left. Not classic, but it did have about half a chicken on it. Taste? Fine. Really — nothing to complain about. The place itself: decorated in a modern classic style, looks good. Quiet, almost serene even — although an empty place naturally helps with that too. **In short:** Good food, bad service. Too casual, no Dutch and no functional English either. Inventory management seems like an afterthought. The staff visibly have no idea what they are doing. But hey — it is a nice place.

After visiting the Black restaurant, we decided to visit this one too. Great atmosphere, quiet and peaceful music, pleasant aromas. When choosing fish from the menu, we were told that it was out of stock and not available, as well as the chef's fish specialties, which disappointed us a little. However, we decided to try the duck confit and were quite satisfied. The place is very nice, and the waiters are very smiling, kind and qualified. Great wine and an overall feeling from the dinner.

Got them to use the vegan patty on the blue cheese burger- which made me happy but to be honest I could have just eaten the Camembert and bread- so good!! If you are a fan of glazed carrots also a good side. Had no room for dessert or even finish the bottomless fries!! And the Moscow mule went down to easy!!

We came to the restaurant, a group of 5 young adults, the waitress was arrogant and ignored us the whole time, it was a very uncomfortable situation. The food was pleasant, no presentation of the food, which we thought there would be.

One of my go to places in Amsterdam. Classic seafood and reinvented dishes. Great drinks and wine list. Worth a stop and reservations are needed in the weekends.

Before our visit to the Rijksmuseum, we visited Red and had a 'classic breakfast' with a delicious mimosa. A tasty macaron came with the coffee. The service – a young woman speaking English – was genuinely super friendly. We would love to come back again.

Food is not ok - burnt burgerbread totally black - how do you think it’s acceptable to serve that - are u blind ? No we were not with three persons , we never stated that. Why let us wait for 30 minutes? No there is no law in the Netherlands stating you can’t serve medium rare burgers. That a restaurants choice , educate yourself . The restaurant it self smells poorly, not ventilated well. Furniture is old and shabby. Do not eat here people.

I had an amazing evening. It was during the week so it was calm and with great atmosphere. Both waiters were incredibly friendly and professional. The food was great especially the rib eye steak 10/10 would repeat.
