Experimentei nesse restaurante a melhor salada caesar que já comi na vida. Inesquecível de boa! O ambiente é ótimo com um cenário bem bacana e boa música tocando. Atendimento cordial e excelente. Fica na esquina da Keizersgracht, perto do Rijksmuseum. Ou seja, muito bem localizado.

At Red to celebrate my early retirement and my birthday. It was supposed to be a festive evening, but it wasn’t. Let me start by saying that the food is of excellent quality. But that’s where it ends. It took a long time before we could place our order, so we not only knew what we wanted to drink but also what we wanted to eat. Don’t do this! Ordering everything at once. In no time, and even before we had received our drinks, our starters arrived, along with the oysters we had intended as an amuse-bouche. We mentioned that this wasn’t how it should be and requested that they wait with serving the main course. “Of course,” was the response. Then the wine arrived, but we had to ask for the water we had also ordered. And just as we were finishing our starters, a cocktail, which we had intended as an aperitif, was served. We asked if the main course could be served after we had finished our wine. “Sure,” was the response, but nevertheless, the main course arrived shortly after. We pointed this out and sent the dish back. Yes, they understood that this wasn’t how it should be. However, at a certain point, there was some insistence that the main course had to be served. The tournedos, which was ordered medium rare, was now well done, and the lobster was dry. When paying, we were asked if everything was okay. What do you think? Not even a small gesture, like offering a cup of coffee, was made as compensation. Afterwards, I received an email asking if I would share my opinion on Tripadvisor and social media. So here it is. Sorry if this sounds bitter, but this is how an evening gets ruined. And it wasn’t even that busy, so that couldn’t have been the excuse.

Had a bite to eat at Christmas time. Super tasty. Cozy atmosphere and super nice people. I'll definitely be back

I would 💯 recommend this place. We had drinks. Beer and a Crodino Spritz. Then, a cheese plate. All of which were delicious. We saw a lot of fantastic looking good coming out of the kitchen, and the prices were very fair.

Fantastic food, especially the rib eye and tuna tartar. Very attentive and enthusiastic service, both by Donatas who has been working there for a long time and a lady from Greece. Excellent ambiance, both inside and outside on the Keizersgracht. Highly recommended.

Als een restaurant al zoveel jaar bestaat, moet het wel goed zijn maar …. goed zijn en goed blijven zijn twee. En Red lukt het deze hoge kwaliteit al die jaren vast te houden. Natuurlijk is de plek super en het restaurant zelf mooi ingericht, maar ook dit maakt eten wel meer een belevenis maar nog steeds niet goed. En dat is het wel bij Red. De gerechten zijn met zorg klaargemaakt en worden mooi opgediend. De tonijn vooraf is een aanrader. Ook de tong is er een die er mag zijn. Om ons heen namen vele mensen de bij Red beroemde kreeft. Doen wij de volgende keer ook. Want terug komen doen wij zeker. Trouwens wat een lekkere ( huis) wijnen.

The staff, food, and atmosphere of Red were fantastic 100%.The meal was amazing if my stay was going to be longer I would certainly go back again! If you can do yourself a favour and go there.

But for a particularly surly waitress (short, blond, glasses - the other two wait staff were great) our experience was very good. My hamburger was good, but nothing to write home about. However, my wife's salmon was excellent, as was the chocolate cake with orange gelato we had for dessert - both definitely noteworthy.

I do not recommend, the staff ignores clients (they talk/laugh among themselves), they reseted me for no real reason, and one of our order was forgotten (never rung in) and we left hungry. Regarding food, its not adequet its price. I definetly do not recommend because of staff.

Pleasantly surprised by the restaurant, friendly and out of the ordinary. Pleasant staff. Quirky but remarkably beautiful atmosphere. The dishes were delicious, even the croque madame was excellent! They even accept dogs of all sizes!

Great place for lunch, we are going to dinner tonight. Eggs Benedict were outstanding On Sat we went to Restaurant Red for dinner. It was really excellent. We had the roasted vegetable soup which was rich and creamy but just a hint of cream. We had the ribeye for 2 that was seared to perfection at medium rare and the fries were delightful. Tarte tatin for dessert was perfect. Be back soon

Upon arriving in Amsterdam 4/4/2025 we asked our hostess were too have a nice Lunch and she recommended Restaurant Reds .Our waitress Rachel was very nice . I had A Cesear Salads with fresh grilled chicken and fresh greens it was amazing so much I could not finish it . My Boyfriend had Eggs Benedict on fresh Brioche bread done excellently . We are going back for dinner tomorrow night 4/5/2025 . 5 stars

This is my first visit to red after 2020 before i was coming very often and unfortunately see that a lot has changed . The plastic flowers on the tablea is not acceptable ,the seats were not clean full of dirt ,the place need renovation and care.. And the blond lady her name is Jasmine wth eyeglasses serving to our table was unfriendly throving the plates to our head . We were 6 and all ordered meals accompanied with chips and she brought 3 chips said to share our fries and insisted not to bring the rest 3that we paid . Thanks the boy he brought and tried to gain our heart. Taste was ok but unfortunately will not visit again dont want to face unpolite staff(talking about the ladies ) in a fine dinning …

A young team of very friendly professional service support, very tasty lobster and oysters and great music (not too loud either, just right) and wind pairing advice. The lava cake too was perfect 👌🏼 The only small things I could find fault with is how large the onion/shallot was cut for the oyster vinegar, needed to be way smaller plus the decor is very old fashioned but that makes it kind of retro chique. We would most definitely come again 😁

Many years ago, ‘Red’ was a true delight. The restaurant only offered steaks & lobsters then. The prices were then reasonable, food was amazing. What I got last night was sorely disappointing, we vow never to go back again. The restaurant was jammed packed, one of my party’s chair got kicked constantly every time the servers weaved their way between tables. Next table had a 15 year old ‘baby’, talking & shrieking on top of her voice over the cacophony. Paid €52 to a piece of lobster so dry & shriveled that it was reduced to the size of a prawn, the tenderloin that came with it was not only not cooked to my liking, it was bone dry. My starter of escargots has no sauce but was served with bread. Usually to mop the herb butter sauce with but I had to ask for butter. All in all a terrible dining experience. The 3 of us all agreed that we shall never return to this tourist trap.

I’ve now been to Restaurant RED three times, and each visit has been a pleasure. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the standout features is the ceiling—a huge, lighted photograph that really brings the space to life. The ambiance has a romantic touch, but it doesn’t feel like a strictly romantic restaurant, making it a great choice for different occasions. The service has always been good in my experience. Our server this time, a tall boy with dark hair, was particularly friendly and interactive. He made sure we were well taken care of and was quick in his service. The only downside was that the drinks took quite a while to arrive, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the food—once again, it did not disappoint. The quality has been consistently good across my visits, and that’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Overall, Restaurant RED remains one of my go-to spots. A great setting, good food, and pleasant service make it worth visiting. I’d definitely recommend it, just be prepared for a bit of a wait on drinks.

Summer in March; the terrace is hidden under the scaffolding; few people fit there. The atmosphere inside is cheerful and the friendly service works really hard. Tuna, scallops (3 is a bit small) and lobster: everything excellent. There are an abundance of croutons in the red salad. The fries are a real strong point: hot, crispy and available in unlimited quantities. The cheese board is fine. The crème brulee is cold and the caramel is not crispy. That is the downside of the meal, which was otherwise very tasty.

Best steak we’ve ever eaten. The charcoal flavouring is next level. We’ve spent the whole time wondering when we’ll be back to eat it again. Highly recommended the ribeye

This restaurant was a restaurant that I found through a Google search for a date. The interior was very stylish and specially designed, giving the feeling of French restaurants a warm atmosphere with good appropriate lighting. I chose Camembert From The Oven for the appetizer and had no idea about it. When it was served, I really liked the way it looked and it was so delicious that I was shocked by the taste. Excellent meat flavor and soft and delicious texture of the meat that was well marinated with excellent mashed potatoes and special sauce. r made it a unique night for me and I recommend everyone to go to this restaurant.

Wat is er gebeurd? Hebben hier meedere malen gegegen in het verleden. Reden er graag 1,5uur voor, maar helaas vandaag wel een grote teleurstelling. Gerechten waren niet compleet zoals op de kaart aangegeven en werd ook niet opgelost. Jammer dat je geen schoonmaakdoekjes krijgt voor je handen als je kreeft hebt gegeten. Je handen ruiken dan erg naar vis. Ook was het snel koud, misschien beter serveren op een warm bord? Wc achterstallig onderhoud en binnen mag het ook wel opgefrist worden, ruikt heel muf bij binnenkomst. Ook was het niet druk maar toch moesten we zelf om nieuwe drankjes vragen. Helaas voor ons niet meer voor herhaling. Ohja en minimaal 1 personeelslid die Nederlands spreekt is ook wel handig.

The food was above expectations! The meat was very well done, but especially the 'side dish' of grilled vegetables was delicious. It was grilled in their BBQ/oven, the aubergine had the perfect Middle Eastern smoke taste and they even added goat cheese. The mocktail was tasty and different. The creme brulee was nice and creamy. Only thing I would recommend for the owners: put real flowers in the vases on the tables and have the ceiling light dimmed.

We found a traditional Dutch restaurant in Amsterdam (miracle!). Don't miss it. Optimal. Highly recommended.

Tra il museo di Van Gogh e la casa di Rembrandt, al centro della stupenda Amsterdam, vi suggerisco questo gioiellino di ristorante della tradizione olandese: RED. Personale simpatico e affabile. Arredamento particolare e sofisticato. Prezzi in linea con quelli della Capitale. Da assaggiare assolutamente il FOIE ROYAL e gli SPÄTZLE. Andateci.

People in the kitchen probably do it great, I wouldn't say more for the rest.... Place needs to get refreshed, restaurant is dirty,your couch are full of stamps and dirt,tables are scratched and old,you have two great mirrors on the wall that looks painted cause it's also never cleaned. Our waiter a young guy did its best,but you can easily see that there is no experience around. The person who runs the place probably don't care about. Pity cause it can be very cosy with less afford. If the owner can read this ....please check on your own and you will recognise my writing.

What a crazy place, big bill with happy hour between 3-6pm. I didn't notice anything, but worst of all, there are 4 people running around like headless chickens. No one is in charge there and they are more concerned with each other than with customer service. Catering business without a soul, as long as it runs, right?

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the location. I was spontaneously there this evening with my wife. The soups as a starter were "Solala", the mussels as the main course were cooked for far too long, the accompanying fries never came - despite repeated requests. We stopped our dinner there and went to another restaurant to get our bottle of wine (we wanted to order, but never got around to it, and no one ever came to ask if everything was good...), our fries, dessert, coffee and digestif all in one Enjoyed another restaurant. I recommend: avoid this restaurant.

Wow, wàt een leuke locatie, relaxte sfeer bij Red. Supervriendelijke ladies in de bediening en ....daar kwamen we natuurlijk voor... heerlijk geluncht in de altijd gezellige antiekbuurt in hartje Amsterdam. Graag deel ik hier nog even dat mijn BFF en ondergetekende genoten van thee (om op te warmen in koud Amsterdam), smakelijke avocado salmon toast, een goed gevulde Caesar salad to share, een mooi glas rode wijn - keus genoeg - en als afsluiter... warm chocoladetaartje en tarte tatin... zo jammie allemaal. Daar paste nog net een cappu en prima espresso bij. Niet nadenken: gewoon hier gauw naartoe gaan! Jammer dat een aantal voornamelijk oudere reviews een ander beeld geven, wat o.i. absoluut niet klopt met onze ervaring gisteren, 22 januari 2025

It has been reported for some time that the service is poor, but unfortunately nothing happens. Bad service, you wait a long time for service even though the store is not full. The cake has been thawed and warmed up to some extent. burnt and mushy. A waitress sits and eats while observing the guests looking for a waitress. It's a shame, the shop itself is very cozy if you can ignore the stains on the couch.

Food was good but the red wine had run out. Very hilarious. Later in the evening there was also a white wine. Guys, that's bizarre!! No, not worth repeating. Service waved us away.

Bad service towards guests which makes the food overpriced. Voice of server was overruling throughout the restaurant. He pretended to be super nice, but he had a 'I don't care' attitude and food felt of the plate while serving and stayed on the floor next to our table the whole meal. Also no red wine. We felt bad for the other boy and girl working in the restaurant. We had a lovely family day out in Amsterdam but this restaurant was a joke.

My experience with the food was great, the place is wonderful, but the attendant was extremely rude when I answered a call on speakerphone because I didn't have headphones... an extremely unpleasant situation!

And don't forget to order the Brussels sprouts! Delicious.

Restaurant RED was such a pleasure to dine at! The food and attitude of the staff is by far the best that I have experienced in the Netherlands. Everything tasted great, was sent out in a timely manner and at the same time for the whole group, and was presented beautifully. Head Chef Magashen Naicker is doing an amazing job together with his team. We were served by Lisa and she had a smile on her face and a great attitude throughout our visit. Be sure to try the truffle parmesan sweet potato fries and the prawn starter! They are absolutely delicious!

Great experience at Restaurant Red!!! The food was amazing and the service by Lisa outstanding through the service. The team did very well to accommodate some of our dietary requirements. I will certainly be back to sample the rest of the dishes on the menu.

A cosy and welcoming restaurant, with fabulous food! The lamb shank on the Holiday menu was tender and well seasoned. And our waitress Lisa went above and beyond to see to our needs. Definitely one for the books!

Fui aquí para almorzar el día de Navidad, ya que estaba a menos de diez minutos a pie de mi hotel: Disfruté de todo lo que tenía, tenía un precio muy razonable por un lugar abierto el día de Navidad: solo una pena que parecieran estar inundados de gente que solo quería tomar una copa, si fuera mi lugar les habría dicho que fueran a buscar un café.

Acoustics are dramatically bad. For the rest everything is fine. We took the tournedos (160g) and the tenderlone steak with truffle from the suggestion menu. Both cooked perfectly. The staff is also very fast and correct. Nice experience 👌🏽

Very nice warm place. Very good food and drinks but on the other hand an infinitely long waiting time. We waited 30 minutes to order and 20 minutes to pay, the waiters were in no hurry and not the most welcoming.
