Too sad for words. 1. Pushy owner, who asked ten times if we wanted a drink. 2. The food was more microwave-safe than restaurant-quality. 3. The meat wasn't cooked through. 4. The dessert was very small. 5. The carpaccio tasted like a watery dishcloth. 6. Far too much parsley on the meat. 7. The wine glasses were still dirty. 8. Traces of Parmesan cheese were visible on the bread roll with the tomato soup. 9. The interior was shabby and lacking any decoration. In short, this establishment lives up to its name, because it's a complete SCAMpi.

Just finished my meal at the Scampi restaurant. This gastronomic experience was unpleasant, to say the least, for both me and my business partners. This dinner was a waste of time, and the owner is therefore indirectly to blame for the decline in my stock. Thus, this evening meal became an extremely delicate affair. The utterly forbidding interior reminded me of my childhood, when I and my buddies would sometimes eat at the hockey club. If this restaurant owner had also played hockey, he might have had some manners. He would have known how to treat people of our standing. It's best not to waste words on the food; I wouldn't even dare give it to my naked cat.

The McDonald's is 300 meters away, much better quality.

A three-course dinner (with kangaroo steak as the main course) for €20 through Social Deal. Friendly staff who are happy to help you customize the meal to your preferences. They really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. The ambiance is a bit more basic, but it's a pleasant evening nonetheless!

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food was simple and tasteless. The location looks old and dated, which doesn't enhance the atmosphere. Furthermore, the Social Deal offer was presented in a more extensive way than what we actually received on the menu. Finally, the ice tea we received was even a month out of date. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

I never really leave a bad review, but this restaurant was so bad I had to... It's because you're supposed to give one star, but this restaurant isn't even worth one. An overly enthusiastic host who clearly plays a role and immediately becomes defensive when you complain. The waitress looks very grimy and just radiates grumpiness. Barely five minutes after placing the greasy menu at your table, she shuffles back over on her heels and insists on taking your order, even though we said we wanted to enjoy our drinks first. And then there's the food: the average microwave meal from the Appie tastes better than what we were served here. The moral of the story: don't be swayed by offers like a 3-course menu for €29.95 or a Social Deal, because cheap is expensive. You won't see us back here!

Very cozy clean restaurants, very sweet service and the food is perfect, we sat outside nice weather people watching with food and a nice drink. Definitely worth repeating.

Reserved via social deal. All other guests (and there were not many on a Saturday evening) also entered through this way. No one in their right mind would just walk in here. The quality of the food sucks. With 5 people a coupon for less than 100 euros together. On top of that came the drinks, fries, mayo and all other things. That was more than 150 euros. All in all, a waste of money, certainly not worth repeating. Tasteless, without atmosphere and tatty.

Gastvrouw en -heer waren erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten voor een eerlijke prijs en wanneer we weer eens in Haarlem zijn komen we hier zeker terug.

It's been a long time since we've been in a place with such a poor service. They did not notice a change in our reservation and although there were plenty of free seats, they had a problem with showing us a table. Then the gentleman who served us, treated us with contempt and showed great dissatisfaction with what we ordered. In his opinion, it was not enough (2 starters, 2 main courses for 4 people) and he was very dissatisfied - he couldn't hide it. I don't know if I've ever been to a place where the staff decided what and how much we should order. Finally, we canceled the order, paid for the drinks and left. We found a great place nearby, where we ate delicious pizza in a pleasant atmosphere.

Ondanks de slechte recensies zijn wij hier gaan eten met het lokkertje van 50% korting voor een 3-gangen menu. Alle drie de gangen waren ruim voldoende, de bediening was wat geforceerd om het "gezellig" te maken, dat ging beter toen het wat drukker werd. Als het minder druk is dan kijken ze je op de vingers, wat best irritant is.

The worst restaurant I have eaten at in a long time. There is only one lady in the kitchen who took 45 minutes to put food on the table. The so-called tenderloin of €32 was anything but tenderloin; completely overcooked and tasteless. There was still a piece of plastic in my salad. The owner did his best, but he was difficult to understand and the service was minimal. We had to ask for everything (such as mayonnaise with the fries or a spoon for the sauce). Paid almost €2 for 5 olives that were sour. The atmosphere is terrible and to top it all off, the extractor hood did not work, so the whole place was blue. This restaurant doesn't even deserve the name “restaurant”. Shame on the catering industry.

What a mess we have been in here. So sad it was comical. It starts upon arrival. The first thing you notice is the non-existent ambiance, the tropical heat, the slightly too loud music and the smell of bleach. Every sense was stimulated, almost your sixth too. Then you sit down and take a good look around you. The worn interior, the dirty door frame, the MDF plate against the fireplace and finally the concertina door with a thick depression that almost wants to go to the garbage. The door only opened halfway, so you had to squeeze yourself through the opening. Food okayish, but any half tame with a frying pan could do this themselves. Finally, we laughed a lot at the card written by a group of 3ers with dyslexia. Great evening!

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very mediocre. It looks old and little decoration on the walls. Furthermore, it was very hot in the restaurant, even a cactus would dry out from the heat. The food was a bit better, but not fantastic. The Salmon carpaccio was very disappointing, as it was very little. The meat and fish were very tasty and in sufficient quantity. Furthermore, the amount of chocolate mousse was also very little, even though it didn't taste bad. The service was not very good because the waitress did not speak Dutch very well, which made it difficult to order. They were friendly to us and the food was not very expensive.

We ordered but had to wait 30 minutes and the food was not tasty and very bland on our first dish and the owners just keep looking at you and they are very pushy with every time you want a drink the same numbers pass by and the entire restaurant is blue, doors had to be opened and the toilet is super small, you first have to go through a sliding door and then behind it, I will never come here again, this tent is 1 star, still too much, the cook liked to swear and has no followed training and we were given raw meat, everyone left sick and do not take extra things, they will scam you to take extra and have it paid twice, we paid a total of €27 too much then it was said that they are scammers!!! Unfortunately I had a very bad experience here. Had to wait more than 1 hour for some food. Apparently this wasn't good either, my partner and I both had different food and both walked away with stomach cramps. Partner even had to throw up later.

Eten matig, onvriendelijk, ongemanierde en onbeschofte gastheer/eigenaar dat een geforceerde vriendelijkheid probeert over te brengen, het was er koud, verouderd interieur, verborgen extra’s rekenen (voorgerecht zalm), terwijl dat niet op de kaart stond aangegeven. Social deal was de lokker voor deze aangelegenheid.

Was here on a date and had a nice experience! Couldn't place the owner correctly, but it was correct! He was busy being alone. Food was fine, in any case, care was taken. I thought 4 slices of bread for 3.95 was expensive. Grazie x tutto

The restaurant could use some repairs (door to toilet and a wooden plate for the fireplace). They do their best to create a nice atmosphere. Pleasant music, the host is friendly and busy, so all in all a positive experience.

Ate here via social deal. When we arrived we were a little early, the attitude from the staff was a bit surly. The man said there were problems in the kitchen. We were allowed to sit down and be patient. Okay, you don't want to have problems in the kitchen when it's fully booked, and we understood that. The man was nice one moment and stressed and irritable in contact the next. (Take into account the problems in the kitchen okay) The bar was full of dirty dishes. No coziness in the restaurant's decor, if you looked at your tablemate in front of you, you also looked at the person two tables away. I was disappointed with the food. Main course different types of meat, it was tasteless, vegetables were more raw than al dente, sauce a bit sour and I couldn't make anything out of it, half-baked potato slices 4 pp We did not have dessert. It took a long time before we got anything between the starter and the main course, it was over an hour, the man served the man alone and walked around the place very stressed, trying to remain friendly. The man could laugh at his jokes, but a joke back was not appreciated. We won't be coming back here again.

We come here often. Always treated top notch. I see mixed reactions here about the service that I cannot understand. The food is good too. Especially with a social deal or other deal, the price-quality ratio is well balanced. Once again I hope to always be treated this way in every restaurant, someone who is really happy with your presence and really does everything they can to make you happy.

Heerlijk gegeten, 3 gangendiner via Spontaan (19.95 p.p.) Alles op de borden was keurig opgemaakt en warm. Dat is bij andere restaurants wel eens anders. Eigenaar zeer voorkomend, je moet even aan hem wennen maar dan is het een hele aardige en servicegerichte gastheer. Zie in recenties dat gasten verrast werden door toeslagen bij sommige gerechten, die staan echter heel duidelijk in de kaart vermeld. Dus goed lezen! Wij gingen heel tevreden weg.

Hi guys! I just want to mention that this restaurant is an Italian restaurant that is owned by the waiter who isn't Italian. We spoke to him and he clearly didn't remember the name the type of pasta that my boyfriend ordered. Also, I ordered the devil's scampi with peri peri. But the menu isn't so clear. You aren't getting a prawn platter in peri peri sauce with rice. You get raw prawns in a small soup bowl with roast vegetables on the side. The waiter/ owner is very sweet but he didn't know how to categorise the meal. He did cook the prawns more for me though and apologised. According to him, it's not a soup. However, there is no other way to eat the 'sauce'. It actually tasted like a yummy spicy tomato soup that peri peri. If you would like bread, you need to order it extra. But it also wasn't recommended to us by the waiter. Other than the soup/ sauce being quite nice, and the vegetables being decent, I can't say I would recommend the restaurant because the portion was much too small (more like a starter), the prawn was raw, and it was much too overpriced.

The fresh pasta was decent but not really authentic Italian. The sauce was a bit watery and needed some more seasoning. The food was fine but too expensive for the quality and quantity.

Super nice and cozy place. Food was nicely prepared. The owner does his very best to please you. Guests received Limocello with the bill. Unfortunately we don't. We had a social deal, maybe that's why.

Ate here twice via Social Deal with varying experiences. The first time I had a delicious meal, I had the wasabi salmon carpaccio which was very tasty, but there was not much wasabi dressing. And the Kangaroo steak, which was wonderfully tender. The second time my mother had the Kangaroo steak, but this time very tough and little taste. The devilish scampi had a nice sauce but not the piri piri taste. Other dishes tasted good.

Food was not bad, but simple as you can make at home. The sauce on carpacio and chicken fillet was very little. It said 'with baked potato', but these were literally 3 slices, so you will still order fries (and therefore extra costs on top of your social deal) Very friendly waiter/owner.

Very tasty meal. Very nice service. We reserved via social deal. Then you get another card. But ordering something from the regular menu was no problem. Fish and meat very good and tasty. Vegetables and potatoes a bit on the raw side. Ultimately, with all the additional costs, you might as well book without a social deal, which amounts to the same costs.

Very nice manager/server, kangaroo steak was cooked rare instead of medium rare and the rest of the food was very bland and tasteless. Furthermore, you can score a pleasant atmosphere and a cheap deal via social deal.

Celebrated my birthday there. Delicious food!!! Received a dessert as a gift🍧 I sat there relaxing and it was an unforgettable evening for me.

Sweet professional people who serve good and honest food

Today was our first time at Scampi, a nice restaurant with hospitable people!

Essentially eating here in this restaurant… When we arrived we were seated at the window, I understand because the place was empty and then we hoped that people would still come in... but fine. The owner was in a hurry. Menu card and 2 minutes later as if we already knew it. Carpaccio beforehand... taste was good but you had to chew it really well before you swallowed it otherwise it would get stuck in your throat and the heimlich had to be applied...😜. By the way, the carpaccio was impossible to cut because the knives were very blunt. Starter finished and main course arrived straight away. Meanwhile, we and a table behind us were constantly busy killing fruit flies. Owner was nice to your face but behind us we really heard him say tsss. Very bizarre. We were more or less kept out of the place because I accidentally threw a candle over the table because I was dealing with those fruit flies again and everything was covered in candle wax. It's really an old case. Messy, toilet really not fresh. The same vegetables on every dish. Carrot and green beans. With the fries a bag of Zaanse mayonnaise and a bag of ketchup... seriously? Never experienced this before in a restaurant😂😂 And the chef is smoking at the front of the shop in between... And then those flies. No, we will never come back here and will certainly not recommend it to anyone! Even though it was such a mess, we laughed a lot because it really made us laugh.

Met social deal gegeten. Vriendelijke bediening. Scampi's voorgerecht was karig , 4 Scampis in lekkere saus op een groot bord .Vlees schotel gedeeld, vlees was mooi medium. Alles wordt extra gerekend , bakje pepersaus , frietjes etc Prima simpel eten , geen culinair hoogstandje . Vrij prijzig als je kijkt naar prijs kwaliteit.....

perfect!! ik was samen met 2 vrienden en mijn vriend, en we hebben allemaal super genoten! super lekker eten, drinken en de man in de bediening was echt super lief. eten kwam snel en het was echt gezellig. we komen zeker terug!

Hebben hier gereserveerd via social deal. Toen wij hier aankwamen was dit niet goed gegaan, alleen dit is allemaal heel netjes en vlot opgelost. De ober was heel aardig en het eten was top. De wachttijd was wel iets langer maar dat was voor ons niet erg. Al met al heerlijk gegeten.

Het eten was absoluut prima te noemen. Er worden geen hoofdprijzen gevraagd dus verwacht geen culinaire hoogstandjes maar de tomatensoep was lekker en de vleesschotel was heerlijk gegrild. Pluspuntje is de ongelofelijk vriendelijk en gezellige eigenaar als je ober voor de avond! Zeker; het toilet is een beetje apart maar dat heb je bij de beste authentieke eettentjes in het buitenland ook.

Het eten was redelijk, bediening was triest. Er werdt gevraagd of we als 'starter' brood en olijven wilden. Prima! Er kwamen enkele plakjes brood en 2 olijven per persoon voor de hoofdprijs. Het zelfde met een schaaltje patat als extra aanvulling met zakjes mayonaise en ketchup. De serveerster kwam tig keer vragen of alles goed was en of het smaakte. Uiterst storend als je in gesprek bent. Het heren toilet kon niet op slot. Bij het dames toilet hing een briefje dat toiletpapier niet in het toilet mocht worden gegooid ivm mogelijk overstroming... De menukaart online bevat meer en aangenamere gerechten dan de kaart die je terplekke aangeboden krijgt. Beetje jammer allemaal.

We zijn hier gaan eten nadat we een social deal voucher gekocht hadden. De bediening was heel vriendelijk en ze serveerden ons eten erg snel. De zalmcarpaccio was een beetje schaars, maar de rundercarpaccio daarentegen was lekker en het bord was volledig gevuld. We hadden allebei de kangaroo biefstuk en die was bereid zoals wij hadden gevraagd (rare) en ook heerlijk met de vruchtensaus die erbij kwam. Als laatste was het chocolade toetje ook lekker. Eerlijk gezegd snap ik de hele slechte reviews niet. Samen met de vriendelijke staff en het lekkere eten kan ik voor de prijs totaal niet klagen en zou ik het ook zeker aanraden!

Took a social deal to try out new restaurants. Social deal guests got a different menu with spelling errors and higher drink prices. Additions each costs extra per person. Food was not great and nothing special. Shrimp salad barely had shrimps, and wasn't spicy at all. Chicken was overcooked. Steak cooked alright but not rested long enough. Crème brûlée was more of a cheesecake. Very simpel dishes, not very well executed. It was only us and one other couple in the restaurant. Will not come back to try anything else.

Zitplaats bij het toilet was zeer onaangenaam. Kangoeroe was goed, de vis was superklein. Groenten waren vers en de aardappelen koud. Kaasplank was lekker op één kaas na die helemaal was uitgedroogd. Gastheer was vriendelijk, maar deed niets met de opmerking over koude aardappels. Voor extra saus uit een zakje wordt extra geld gerekend. Wijn was lekker. Wij gaan hier nooit meer naartoe…..

De porties zijn heel erg klein, fantasieloos, en smakeloos, net als de inrichting. De biefstuk is geen aanrader. 3 gangen menu voor €33,95... Veel te duur voor wat je er voor krijgt.

Erg veranderd,alleen de naam is er nog. Eten is prima maar geen restaurant niveau. Bediening erg vluchtig, wel vriendelijk maar haastig.

De reviews waren wisselend over dit restaurant, alleen na mijn ervaring moet ik wél toegeven dat de reviews niet gelogen zijn. De kosten zijn aan de hoge kant, 5,50 voor een glas wijn. De zalm carpachio(zie foto) leek eerder een lichte zalmsalade. De gorgonzola op de kip gaf mij hevige buikpijn, en het geen wat ik het meest naar vond was de lange blonde haar wat ik in de patat vond van mijn zoontje. Ik weet dat de inflatie een rol speelt, alleen dit was allemaal niet echt netjes. Het was een niet fijne ervaring, ik hoop dat ze wat met de tips kunnen doen. Nu lijkt het net alsof ze niet willen dat je terug komt.

Het was OK, maar we gaan er niet nog een keer heen. Veel uiteenlopende reviews. Maar mijn ervaring was dat het eten niet verschrikkelijk was maar zeker niet goed genoeg om nog een keer heen te gaan.

We hebben hier voor onze verjaardag met 23 mensen gegeten. Alles was heerlijk en de sfeer was supergoed. Alles gaat hier even gemoedelijk. Wat je ook vraagt, het wordt geregeld. Een aanrader!

Restaurant en terras zaten ongeveer vol. Vrouw stond in keuken, man deed bediening. Petje af, hard werken voor ze, maar iedereen kreeg toch vrij snel te eten. Wij waren met z'n tweeën en hebben gesmuld! Erg lekker,heeft ons prima gesmaakt. Wel wat aan de prijs, maar we waren helemaal tevreden.

We hadden bij Scampi Haarlem gereserveerd om met z'n 4en te dineren. Helaas kregen we even daarvoor de mededeling dat het fout was gegaan, omdat er een feest werd gegeven op die dag/avond. Dus hebben we het moeten verzetten. Helaas kwam die afspraak ook niet uit en heb ik, met een moeilijk verstaanbare medewerker telefonisch contact gehad om de afspraak een dag te vervroegen. Dit was geen probleem zei hij. Wat bleek... de afspraak was niet aangepast en konden buiten zitten. Helaas was ik er zelf niet bij ivm Corona. Als alles mis gaat gaat ook alles mis.. Zo jammer Scampi hoeft voor ons niet meer.

Heerlijk gegeten, alles was even smakelijk en goed verzorgd. De bediening is super gastvrij. Het was op zaterdagmiddag om 17.30 al gezellig druk.een aanrader.

Leuk ontvangst van gezellige gastheer. Oké, in de zalmcarpaccio was meer salade dan zalm. Het hoofdgerecht kipfilet met gorgonzola, was voldoende en lekker! Groenten ook lekker bereid. Port was erg lekker! Rode wijn, lekker en behoorlijk groot gevuld glas. Eigenlijk een dubbele portie 😋. Nu wachten op het nagerecht. Alle vertrouwen in! De gerechten zijn niet heel groot, maar prima voldoende. Voor 20,00 goed gegeten!! Social deal
