This must have been one of the best dining experiences that I have had in the Netherlands. The food is top notch; with great variety and everything made from scratch from local sources (as far as practically). This result was delicious flavours, presented in a appetizing manner. Worth mentioning that servings are quite large. Atmosphere is calm, cozy and welcoming. The staff are very attentive, able to help and advice. They can also accommodate any dietary restrictions. Overall, a fantastic experience and I can recommend giving this place a visit.

My partner and I have been dining here regularly for over 15 years, and it's always a wonderful experience. The service is excellent and friendly, the chef consistently creates delicious dishes, and the atmosphere (just like the food) is simply delicious!

We ate here again yesterday, and it was delicious. Eating at Restaurant Bakhuys feels like dining at your grandmother's, but with a culinary twist. A warm welcome! The friendly and attentive hostess makes you feel right at home. You can tell in everything that the food here is prepared with love and attention. This isn't your typical restaurant; this is real cooking. Every dish is carefully prepared, with flavors that surprise and feel familiar. The authentic interior, in the style of an old bakery, completes the experience. Highly recommended!

This remains the one and only true gem in the north. The quality of the food, the love with which it is prepared, the hospitality—it's truly an experience to eat here and highly recommended for anyone who loves good food. A solid 11. We love coming here.

This idyllic restaurant is almost hidden in the shopping street of Winschoten. A beautiful garden that invites you to come and have a bite to eat. We were welcomed in a no-nonsense way by the staff, on the terrace there was also a friendly atmosphere among the guests, nobody knew each other but everyone greeted each other. Beautiful. The staff was wonderfully down-to-earth and despite the fact that people were being trained, we lacked nothing. A good (Groningen!) menu with something for everyone, even a weekly changing menu, and also more than enough choice in beer and the wine tasted good too. Before we ordered, the chef took a break outside, after a short chat with us he stood up and said: "I'm going to cook something nice for you". Well, he did. Everything was prepared and presented with the best care, the portions were also very generous and creative. The dessert was also with delicious seasonal products and a real treat. We are already looking forward to eating here again.

Awesome location with a charming, rustic atmosphere. Very unassuming. We actually walked right past it. Very friendly staff. Absolutely fantastic food. Everything tasted delicious! We'll definitely be back.

A lovely atmosphere thanks to the preserved elements of the former bakery. Friendly service, who thoroughly described all the dishes. And the food was delicious. We had the weekly menu.

Small spoiler: I only ended up here by chance because I actually wanted to go to the Steakhouse Desperados. But no dogs were allowed there and the next restaurant was exactly this wonderful place. So sometimes fate plays great things with us. 😍

People go to the restaurant! It's inconspicuous from the outside but a real cozy place inside. The food was great, 5 stars aren't even enough. You have to support something like this restaurant! The food was very good, the hosts were very nice and accommodating, we don't understand much Dutch but they tried really hard to explain everything to us in German. We had a 3-course menu that was made with love and heart, you could see and taste it. Attached are a few more pictures. Thank you for this wonderful, unforgettable evening!!!

Yesterday we ate at this super cute restaurant for the first time in a long time. The food was excellent and the hostess very attentive. As a vegetarian you can indulge yourself here, but real carnivores will also get their money's worth here. Beautiful meat dishes. It is clear that this creative chef has a lot of knowledge and experience and has not lost his passion for the profession.

Highly recommended! Delicious meal on the terrace. We work a lot with local and Groningen regional products. Friendly staff, with nice explanations about what is on the menu. The atmosphere is informal.

Another gem discovered where you wouldn't expect it. Beautiful authentic restaurant in a rustic atmosphere. Excellent and friendly service. Everything super fresh with beautiful, very tasty regional products. We had a 4 course surprise menu. Highly recommended for at least 2 people. If you are with more people, booking in advance is advisable. Very reasonable prices too. Definitely worth a visit even if you don't live nearby. I will definitely come back here again!

Had dinner here on my retirement with my team colleagues and wife. Had a good experience here so the choice for the Backhuys was not difficult. Once again not disappointed. Appetizers made from regional products were delicious. The graved laughs are recommended. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, you can just walk past it, but the quality of food and service is top notch.

Heerlijk eten en vooral erg vers en alles zelf gemaakt en bereid uit eigen tuin. We hadden voor het 3 gangen menu gekozen van het weekgerecht en die is zeer aan te raden. Ja erg goed eten hier en ook een gezellige sfeer en een leuk restaurant

Hier moet je heen! Heerlijk gegeten hier afgelopen zaterdag! Gerechten zijn bijzonder smaakvol te noemen. Bediening is erg goed met aandacht voor de klant! Dit was voor ons hier de eerste keer, maar wij komen zeker terug!

Het eten was overheerlijk. De bediening zeer vriendelijk en geven een goede uitleg over de gerechten.

Heerlijk gegeten. We hadden het weekmenu en werden aangenaam verrast door de heerlijke varieteit aan smaken.

Hübsches kleines altes Gebäude (alte Bäckerei), mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das Essen ist wirklich ausgezeichnet. Alles ist hausgemacht, bis hin zu den kleinsten Details wie selbstgebackenem Brot. Wer wirklich gutes Essen mag, dem kann ich dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Auch wenn die Speisekarte nicht so üppig ist das braucht es nicht, was angeboten wird ist mehr als reichlich und super zubereitet.

Cozy and welcoming place. Service was excellent and food came in a timely manner. Food was delicious and well presented. I'd say it was 80-90 out of 100 (which is really good). We also got 2 dishes complementary of the kitchen. 10/10 would recommend and visit again.

Net heerlijk gegeten. Wat een heerlijk restaurant. Alles gewoon perfect wij komen zeker terug!

Dit restaurant weet nog hoe je een gezonde maaltijd op tafel zet alles biologisch of uit eigen tuin. Je merkt het verschil direct echt een aanrader.

Klassieke keuken. De sfeer is heel relaxt, aardige bediening, leuke gerechten met allemaal verse ingrediënten. Aanrader.

Een super leuke verrassing om hier te eten. Van buiten viel het ons niet op, maar eenmaal binnen zal je het niet snel vergeten.

Fantastisch gegeten, streekproducten met passie bereid! Heerlijke langzaam gegaarde lamschouder echt een aanrader. Oud pand in orginele stijl maakt het heel sfeervol. Dat met een persoonlijke benadering en goede service, een heerlijke avond uit!

In dit authentieke pand (zeer oude bakkerij) met veel sfeer is het eten Fantastisch !! Dit moet je geprobeerd hebben. STER WAARDIG !!!

Een klein restaurant met zeer klassieke kaart. Lekker gegeten maar geen hoogvlieger. Wat ons het meest heeft gestoord is dat de temperatuur in het restaurant gewoon koud was. Ik ben eigenlijk nog nooit verkleumd weg gegaan in een restaurant. Veel puree bij de gerechten. Maar wat ik al zei....zeer klassiek.

Hier eet je het beste voer in Oost Groningen! De keuken is echt geweldig! Er wordt met veel passie en liefde voor je gekookt. Ze werken met mooie en eerlijke (streek) producten.
