Restaurant Toscana in Haarlemmerbuurt

After a long stroll through the streets of Amsterdam, we stopped at this place, which was still preparing for dinner. It was 3:30 pm. They seated us and gave us a warm welcome. The pizza and pasta were truly excellent and unexpected. Many thanks to the restaurant staff. We highly recommend it! There were 4 of us!

Good and Solid Pizza. Bit spectacular , but good taste. Espresso a bit too large, almost a mocca. Overall a good experience !

We were passing by on the way to the hotel and stayed for dinner. The food was delicious, both pizzas and pasta. Very friendly service. And the place is very cozy. You'll find so many surprises!

This restaurant is rather unassuming from the outside. When you enter, the first thing that strikes you is the slanted floor and dated interior. But the staff and the food make all this feel like a quaint, cozy experience! The four of us (parents and two pre/teens) loved the food, the service, and the experience.

The pizza is tasteless, probably frozen

Disappointing. Prawn cocktail, distinctly average. Great big lettuce leaves hanging over the serving dish in a careless way. Gorgonzola pizza was unpleasant. Way too much tomato paste and the cheese tasted odd. Won't visit again.

Very good dishes, Italian and other wise.

We had dinner together as a family. Everyone had a different starter and dessert, salad, bruschetta, spaghetti with scampi, spaghetti with gorgonzola sauce and mushrooms, spinach au gratin al forno and pizza tonno. All dishes were good to very good. We were allowed to sit down with older locals at the first large table, which was the best choice in terms of light and ambience. The remaining tables are a bit dark, which is a shame. Rather cheaper in terms of price.

Extremely slow food service, and bland food.

They have glutenfree pizza here without soy in the dough (traces of soy could be present but for me that is not a problem). They let me check the ingredients for myself so I could be sure of what I was eating. I enjoyed my sardine pizza very much, thank you!

I was there it’s the best place in Amsterdam with the best atmosphere ! I I spilled my beer on the pizza, but despite this they made me another pizza.for free! This is a real human act. I’m glad that I visited this place.

Ate seafood past. Made out of penne, canned tuna, mini shrimps and some muscles. Haven’t ate canned tuna pasta since I was 17 learning how to cook.

Our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam! We pick up from Toscana almost once every week. The thin crust pizzas are outstanding--crispy edges, rich flavors. We also enjoy penne gorgonzola and penne verde and order a mixed salad to go with them, The vegetable lasagna is delicious. The tiramisu is one of the best we've ever had.

Food wasnt tasty, pasta tasted like pasta from the supermarket. Bread was cold. Service wasnt kind enough

Watch out for tourists! We went inside to go to the bathroom and the manager or waiter jumped on us to tell us that we don't go in like that and that it costs money. Very well, we don't know and we suggest we have a coffee or something else... Very unpleasant, he refuses to serve us and asks us to pay 2€. We expected better from the hospitality, especially from Tuscany.

youre better off doing groceries and having your 5 year old kids making the dinner for you. ingredients were below supermarket quality. cheese wasnt fresh, sauce was tasteless, dough was stale and flat. the server couldnt tell our pizzas apart (one glutenfree). proof of the trash quality of both. after two unbearable slices of pizza we spoke to the manager who claimed “I cant do anything about it or the bill”. so we left without eating, paid the bill, had a much better experience at a restaurant down the road. DO NOT EAT HERE

- Every frozen pizza and instant pasta tastes better - Waiter takes a lot of time before asking for the order and goes for a smoke when you ask for the bill.

Delightful food and service and very friendly owner. Place is conveniently located across from The Movies, just a few steps away for a great after-movie meal. Recommended.

The pizza is bad. I have not tried the rest (so maybe it is better ?). I am having an hard time understanding the reviews saying it is delicious. Italian food, and mostly for pizzas and pastas are easy to make in the process. Everyone can do it. So what makes the difference here- and in Italian food in general is the amazing QUALITY of the ingredients. I took the oregano pizza. It is only 3 ingredients so how can you miss it ? None of them were fresh (not even the oregano come on), greasy and dry bad quality pizza cheese added on top and bad quality tomato sauce. I don't even want talk about the carbonara that my friends took, which was literally the spaghetti with Albert Heijn ham striped and CREAM and no parmigiano. It was an absolute waste of money. Maybe they should have a smaller menu with way better ingredients.

There are some lame reviews in this section. So unfair. As usual, we were warmly welcomed yesterday by the owner and his two daughters. No one in our (large) group had any complaints, on the contrary. I say, "see you next time."

Ordered outrageous pasta with old salmon. I am a real salmon lover and always recognize fresh salmon. I get a pasta with rotten salmon. The pasta literally tastes like cream sauce and seawater. Pasta with milk and sea salt and rotten salmon flavor. I really went over my head. It's scandalous that you dare to give this to the delivery person. These are Turks who just don't want to make anything and don't think about quality. Please leave Italian cuisine to the Italians.

We ordered both traditional and gluten-free pizza at this place. Overall, our experience was decent; however, the gluten-free pizza had a slightly tough and crunchy texture. The toppings, on the other hand, were satisfactory.

Heerlijk gegeten , vriendelijk personeel en gezellige sfeer.

Ongelofelijke vriendelijke eigenaar, heerlijke spaghetti, Italiaanse wijn voortreffelijk, eten snel geserveerd kom hier al 25 Jaar en zo tevreden mooi uitzicht bij het raam tegenover de bios, een van de mooiste straten van Amsterdam. Heerlijke na gerechten en de koffie is zo lekker. Ik zou zeggen ga er heen voortreffelijk.

Waar vind je dat nog, een restaurant met al 30 jaar dezelfde eigenaar en dezelfde kok. Nou hier, waar je met een glimlach door de eigenaar bediend wordt, je stante pede een karafje koud water krijgt voorgezet, de pizza's overheerlijk zijn, de wijn prima smaakt, en nog heel betaalbaar ook. Nou, hier dus, in dit verborgen juweeltje.

Lindo restaurante italiano, lo encontramos caminando. Las pizzas son delgadas y crujientes y ricas. Y las meseras son muy simpáticas.

Locale vuoto e servizio lento, pizza surgelata. Pasta all'arrabbiata con i peperoni, sembra italiano ma non lo è per niente. Unico lato positivo la bruschetta al pomodoro finita la cena.

Desde el exterior pasa desapercibido este bar pizzeria y pasta. Las pizzas artesanales están buenísimas: masa fina y crujiente con ingredientes natuales que saben a lo que son. En agosto 23 entre los 13 y 15 € cada una, 35 cm. de diámetro. Muy simpáticos y atentos. En el exterior veréis un banco para tomar algo, lo típico en Ámsterdam. Pero dentro tienen sitio para un buen grupo. No es de lo más caro de Ámsterdam y está a un paso entre el centro y el Jordaan. Recomendada 100%.

The restaurant smelled like a toilet because of the nearby restroom. The food was decent, but nothing like spoken about in the other reviews. Maybe we had a bad day of visiting.

Pasta is not made in the traditional way. The carbonara had heavy cream and the lasagna was not quite right. The prices are not bad and the service is fast, but the food is mediocre.

Ik heb Toscane leren kende toen ik nog op het Planciusstraat woonde in 2002-2003.Het eten toen was al lekker,gezellig in een oude interieur.Laats eind Juni vierde ik het verjaardag van mijn man met klein groepje van 8 familieleden.Toevallig was lekker rustig omdat het door de week was.Heel cosy,veel meer aandacht gekregen van een hele aardige medewerker of eigenaar ( ik heb trouwens niet er om gevraagd ).Het is weer heerlijk genoten van bruschetta’s , pizza’s , lamsbout,biefstuk,lekker ijsjes als toetje.Ik hoop echt dat hij nog vele jaren kan bestaan.Wij hebben een leuke avond gehad,lekker gegeten.

Mäßig leckeres Essen, nichts, was einem wirklich schmeckt sondern hauptsächlich satt macht. Bedienung dafür unfreundlich und distanziert. Auch wenn es ein glutenfreies Angebot gab, wären wir wohl besser in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen. An alle, die es sich überlegen: Besser meiden! In einer Stadt wie Amsterdam gibt es zahlreiche, bessere Alternativen an fast jeder Ecke.
