We were in Middelburg yesterday (July 30, 2025) and passed this place; it's tucked away a bit at the back of the city center, at the end of Langeviele. What a lovely courtyard! Full of plants and flowers, very cozy. The service is very friendly, cheerful, and attentive. The lunch menu is quite limited, but that's not a problem. When I mentioned that my croquette (which was almost gone) wasn't quite warm, I received two new ones. A very polite solution 👍 You get your food on a platter, which looks very nice and well-maintained. Reply to the owner: We didn't think there was a huge selection of lunch dishes. For example, there's only one toasted sandwich. Usually, a lunchroom offers a wider variety. That's why I said that :) But like I said: it's not a big deal. You still have plenty of choices.

A real discovery in the bustling city of Middelburg. A beautiful garden, lovingly decorated, and not too many tables, so you immediately feel at home! The cappuccino is delicious, and the carrot cake is excellent; you should definitely try it! We'd love to come back.

Very friendly staff! The menu isn't extensive, but it offers more than enough to enjoy a delicious lunch. Moreover, the garden and interior look cozy and inviting.

We had a very nice lunch with a beer in the garden. They offer simple dishes, but they are we'll made; very tasty. Nice atmosphere and very kind and helpful service. Great place to have a lunch.

We had a delicious meal. Both the quesadilla and the veal croquettes on bread were very tasty. The service was very friendly and we were always helped quickly. We sat on the back garden terrace with the sun shining. As far as we are concerned, there could have been a little more choice on the menu.

Warm welcome, excellent cuisine, very cozy interior

Went there for a coffee break and sat in the idyllic backyard. The hot chocolate was particularly delicious; you were allowed to mix the chocolate beans yourself in the hot milk. Very quiet and ideal to recover from strolling through the city.

Wonderfully old-fashioned appearance due to the old typewriters, radios and other things "from grandmother's time". The food was very good! You get plates in advance and the food is served on a large plank so you can easily share if you want. The dishes have Mexican or American influences, but Dutch dishes are certainly not missing from the menu.

Great, cute and individually stylish café with a menu and a small garden as well as tables at the front facing the shopping street. We had a delicious cappuccino (also available with oats or something similar) and a cake that was also very tasty. Very friendly and attentive service and fair price-performance ratio

Very cozy place with vintage decoration. We drank coffee and beer from the extensive menu. You can also have a nice breakfast there. The waiter was a beer lover so he always had something special up his sleeve.

Very friendly and enthusiastic service. Very tasty food, good portions with excellent price/quality ratio. Also great vegetarian options: the quesadilla with jackfruit is highly recommended! Overall a warm atmosphere, the decoration and Mexican music is cheerful and homely. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

A hidden gem in Middelburg, what a nice place, especially the garden terrace at the back... beautiful and cozy. Friendly people, very helpful. And the food... I had the minestrone soup as a suggestion and it was great... al dente vegetables, pasta and cheese and a delicious broth. Recommended for anyone visiting Middelburg.

I had asked for 1 regular croquette and 1 cheese croquette instead of 2 croquettes of the same type, then I would have taken an average price of 13 50 instead of the expensive price of the cheese croquettes. From 2.50 pm. Very sad and one less customer

On one of our many visits to Middelburg, we found this wonderful place. What most tourist don't know , is that there is a beautiful garden in the back. This is our favorite place to sit! A lovely couple owns this "Gem", and have a great team supporting them. Once you try this place you will always come back!

Nice shop with a great garden in the back. Small but varied breakfast dishes and delicious cappuccino. But the prices are too expensive. 10€ for a bagel is really excessive. 2 bagels and 2 cappuccinos cost 26€…

Very friendly hostesses and host. A delicious gazpacho eaten in a nice smoke-free garden. A wonderful place to eat and drink between shopping. Highly recommended.

Here you can enjoy the typical pea soup with all the trimmings, carrot cake,... Tasting local beers while traveling through time through history. Had lunch here with friends this afternoon. Wonderful atmosphere in terms of furniture and other surroundings. Service was smooth and friendly, very professional. Coffee nice and hot and good quality, with a glass of water. We drank tea, cappuccino and latte macchiato. Lunch was very good, we had tasty croquettes with sourdough bread, soup of the day (excellent pea soup) with bacon on rye bread. Hummus on bread and homemade mackerel salad. Nothing to complain about at all, it all tasted very good. Too bad I didn't take any pictures because the layout was beautiful. It was not very noisy inside and there was no radio on loudly, ideal for people who cannot handle stimuli very well. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. Soup could have been a bit warmer, but otherwise great. With four people, we ate and drank enough and spent less than 80 euros. We will definitely come back here a few more times. Thank you for the delicious, good and affordable lunch.
