My husband ordered a pizza without cheese, but instead they charged extra for salami because he doesn't like cheese. In our opinion, the pizza hadn't even touched the oven; it was so tough straight away. Never again for us. We are used to better.

I don't understand why they get so many stars. The staff are busy with everything except serving customers. Had to wait a very long time for the menu and drinks. The bruschettas were tasty, the pizzas are quite dry and the dough isn't good; had to wait 40 minutes for dessert which they probably just forgot. Nice terrace though.

Good, fast service. Good atmosphere both inside and out. It is certainly very nice to sit in the garden when the weather is good! As for the food, always good experiences. Here are the photos. Starter: antipasti for 4 people. Really a bit of everything: cod, chicken skewer, asparagus soup, burrata with Parma ham, and last but not least, carpaccio. Also a bread roll. Truly fantastic, definitely do this if you are with two or more people! Main course: skewer with beef tenderloin and a tempura shrimp, potatoes, and vegetables. The beef tenderloin was well cooked, the shrimp was a bit dry and there was a whole head that you couldn't eat. Otherwise, a tasty dish! Dessert: chocolate cake with a Dubai chocolate ice cream. Very tasty, but very rich. Forgot to take a photo again 😂

The food is still very good. To keep the price down, extras like an amuse-bouche and something nice with the coffee have been scrapped. That is what set them apart. Still, a pleasant experience.

Nice restaurant with reasonable prices

The food was delicious! But the service wasn't friendly. We had to wait a long time for the menus, and no one asked if we needed anything after we finished our drinks. We were a large group, including children. Okay, if the waitress had had to tell us we were being too loud, that would have been fine. But she could have been a bit more polite.

Picked up food Very limited parking for your car to pick up food. It was busy and took a long time to get help. Unfortunately, the pizza and lasagna were a bit burnt on top. It's a shame they give it to you.

Hadn't been there for a while, but they haven't sacrificed anything, the food remains great.

Had a delicious monthly menu (3 courses) which was really tasty and surprising and the tagliatelle carbonara was also great and more than enough service was excellent and knowledgeable, atmosphere was nice and cozy although a bit noisy because of the many people 😀

I've been coming here quite often over the past 25 years. I was always reasonably satisfied, but that's over now. I was served the worst pizza ever. Tough crust (and a dull knife) and tasteless food that has nothing to do with Italy. A huge disappointment, so: "never again!"

I had a wonderful experience at this café. The latte macchiato was perfect, and the apple pie tasted like it was fresh from the oven. The staff was friendly and helpful, even during the busy lunch hour. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic. The decor was modern with lots of wood and plants. There was a cozy, relaxed energy. The tables were clean and well-maintained. The service was quick, and the wait time was minimal. The music matched the café's atmosphere perfectly. A place where you can easily spend hours.

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere. The staff could be a bit more attentive, though. The drinks came wrong, and it took forever for someone to ask if we wanted another drink. We also asked if we could take the leftovers home with us, which we could. However, they threw all the dirty cutlery and napkins right on the tray, which we thought wasn't very polite. A bit of a shame!

We came as a group and it was very pleasant; the dishes were portioned one per person. The company was excellent and the food was very good. The fish was cooked to perfection, as were all the proteins I ate. The cappacio, for me, could have used more sauce, but it was still good. For dessert, the only thing I didn't like was the cheesecake, which was super sweet. But the plain chocolate ice cream was superb. The restaurant is very beautiful and pleasant. The bathroom has a child-friendly toilet seat reducer and is quite old. I highly recommend it.

A 3-course meal that resembled a 30-course meal, an hour wait between course 1 and course 2, and then another hour wait for dessert...

My partner and I had a lovely meal there. We sat outside in a pleasant atmosphere. They have a wide selection of dishes. You can sit inside even in bad weather, or outside under an awning or without one. They have a large outdoor terrace. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommended!

Professional and friendly welcome. Varied menu and very well-prepared dishes. The portions are generous. We had various pastas and pizzas. Really very good for everything. Fair prices without being cheap. Cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Very bad, now for the second time a limp pizza

Unfortunately, the first time I had a bad meal, the service was inconsistent (disinterested). The hot and cold appetizers: dried-out salmon, and the Russian salad is not an Italian appetizer. The Gameri ravioli was pre-made/not fresh, not tasty, and I didn't eat it. My main course was pizza marinara; it looked like a piece of cardboard and I didn't eat it. Perhaps the chef was on vacation... Such a shame.

Great location. Had a really delicious pizza, where you can add or remove items (for a fee). I ordered tiramisu but didn't eat it. After a few bites, I wondered what the hell I was eating... I personally thought it had little to do with tiramisu. It looked more like two layers of cake with some kind of cream in between and a thick layer of cocoa. I reported this, and they said they would remove it from the receipt... I don't know if they actually did, since my mother paid for it.

Yum, the food was truly delicious. It's been six years since we last went here, but next time won't be that long. Pleasant atmosphere. Great team. Very kind to our daughter, too. And the food was delicious. Especially large portions and affordable. We loved it!

A very nice place with great food (don't forget to have tiramisu for dessert). It has a small parking but if it is full you can park in a proper city parking few meters away. Usually I visited in winter but recently I found out that they have summer area (open) at the back. Great choice if you ever visit Rotterdam.

Farewell of a colleague celebrated with a large group. We got a buffet of a number of different starters, main courses and finally the desserts. Everything was good and tasty. You get mega a lot of food.

Shrinkflation has also struck Pappagallo. The pizzas are suddenly smaller. The price is not, of course.

The food is good. It is extremely annoying when you are eating and other guests feel the need to smoke next to your dinner. Why not a smoking ban? Until then I will skip Pappagallo!

Large and attractive restaurant, that combination does not naturally go together! Playful spaces, a conservatory and garden. The acoustics could be a bit better, a bit noisy. It was quite busy on Saturday with relatively few staff, which meant that the wrong dish was served and the contact moments with the service did not always match the consumption needs, which meant that the second glass of wine was no longer available. The mistake was corrected neatly and without discussion and the service was very friendly. The dishes were mediocre to reasonable. Some were a bit bland or were not in the oven long enough, etc. Nicely presented. The tiramisu cake could have been dipped more generously in the coffee/liqueur mixture and the wine may have been left for too long. Seemed soft at first, but unfortunately quickly developed a persistent slightly sour undertone. Less exciting experience than hoped. That remains a gamble with lesser-known Italian wines. Free parking on a small private plot. I think surrounding alternatives are paid for. Let's see if Pappagallo can earn another star next time! 😃

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was incredibly romantic. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and served with care. It’s the perfect spot for a special evening or a cozy dinner. Highly recommended!

A delicious experience in an authentic Italian restaurant! We very much enjoyed our visit. The staff was friendly and professional, and the treatment was upscale from start to finish – we felt like we were truly special guests. We started with Gamberi Olio all’Aglio, tender shrimp flavored with garlic and red pepper with crunchy crostini – simple but full of flavour. We ordered the Ravioli Gamberi with Ravioli Vegetariano sauce, and it was a lovely surprise! The shrimp flavor went perfectly with the pumpkin sauce, cheese and walnuts. As for the Frutti di Mare, we chose it with spaghetti – a wonderful combination of seafood in a light tomato-basil sauce, and the spaghetti was cooked perfectly. The food was certainly good and so was the service. They were attentive and neat. Only the atmosphere was mediocre, the decoration in the conservatory was minimalist. Don't know if I would go back anytime soon. I kind of missed the experience of eating out.

Delicious pizza with nice staff!

The pizzas are not what they used to be. The dough seems completely changed and it is baked on a rack instead of the brick oven.

We were with a large group (16 people) and could simply order from the menu. Everything was served simultaneously. Pizzas, pastas and meat dishes. An error from the kitchen was resolved very well with a free drink from the company. I thought it was very noisy in the shop. But the atmosphere was pleasant.

A restaurant like there are many, sloppy service. Taste of food mediocre. Toilet group is seriously below standard in terms of hygiene and only 1 toilet for so many tables.. Maybe again as a quick pick-up, not for dining.

We have been coming to Papagallo for years and always enjoy it. The atmosphere, service and food were always great! Were...... since the change in staff, from trained catering staff to part-time students, the atmosphere and quality have deteriorated. The complete papagallo experience is lost to us. We don't go there anymore because it has changed for the worse

The 11 euro ravioli consisted of 4 slices of stuffed pasta with some cheese on top and a bowl of bread. This was supposed to represent something culinary but it was just incredibly little and very simple cheap pasta. Not a worthy appetizer at all. The main course, the pizza, was okay, nothing Italian, a nice pizza but no quality products were included. Soil was of very poor quality. Service was friendly and good. Restaurant looked clean and tidy. The price for the starter was absolutely outrageous, the price for the main course was okay. The appearance of the restaurant was supposed to suggest Italian, but the food was severely substandard. Not worth repeating.

This is our new favorite restaurant in Spijkenisse. There is honestly nothing negative to say. The service is friendly. The food is very tasty. I haven't found any Italian restaurants that exceed this quality yet. In addition, the interior is very nice and the prices are very strong. The portions are very good and there is the option to take something home with you if you don't finish it. We will visit again soon (and again and again).

I have been living in Spijkenisse for 24 years now for the second time for dinner, the first time was December 6, 2024 and then December 21. Delicious food, nice restaurant, cheerful staff, highly recommended, something for everyone

I said 5 years ago: Good food, glass of wine. Experienced service wonderful. You can just do it But booked today at 7:00 PM at the request of Pappagallo instead of 6:30 PM. But the table was not ready. After waiting 10 minutes we were able to sit at the table. We wanted to order a bottle of wine, then we had to get the menu become. And then waited at least 25 minutes. But no more service came to our table. We then just left. What a mockery. No more Pappagallo for us. That's not how you treat customers. I have written reasonable reviews everywhere, but I think this is my first 1 star. And that is actually 1 star too many.

Had Christmas dinner at Pappagallo on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Christmas Day with my daughter and 2 grandchildren, Boxing Day with my girlfriend. The first day the food was terribly salty and inedible. On Boxing Day the fish was sad and the diamond hare dry and bitter. So I sent the food back both days. No other food was possible. Lost a lot of money and what was offered was a cup of coffee, which was scandalous to say the least. At the very least management could have done something with the bill. This is very bad service I will definitely not eat at this restaurant again with my friends and family. Bad restaurant.

This is our favorite restaurant with my husband, we often have dinner here and everything is always delicious, fast, good service, we want to come back here. Large portions of food. I recommend trying salmon steak, pasta with seafood, lasagna (regular), and they also have incredibly tasty pizza.

We were with a group, so many different dishes. I thought there was very little tuna on the pizza.

We had a delicious meal. Bread with delicious onion chutneys. Take a sweet look, including the sweet balsamic vinegar. We also had hot and cold starters. Including a delicious well-filled shrimp soup, crispy fried salmon, carpaccio with parmesan cheese, cream cheese roll wrapped in a delicious ham and a bowl of beef salad with a truffle salami roll. The bruschetta's are also recommended. Delicious pizzas with twisted edges. The stuffed ravioli with wild mushrooms and Gelderland chicken is also recommended. For dessert, of course, the homemade tiramisu and cheesecake.

Sat in the outdoor area which is now heated with heaters. It was too hot, which gave me a headache at the end of the evening. Staff friendly, waiting times reasonable. Pizza 4 cheeses very good, base very good, tasty cheeses.
