What a charming restaurant! The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with soft lighting and beautiful decor. Every dish was delicious, made with fresh ingredients and impeccable presentation. The service was attentive and friendly, and offered excellent wine suggestions. The background music was atmospheric without being intrusive. The tables were comfortably spaced. Everything felt well-prepared and thoughtful. The desserts were dreamy, especially the homemade cheesecake. The service was smooth and professional. A wonderful evening that I would happily repeat.

I've been here twice, but the atmosphere has definitely deteriorated, and so has the food. I had a carpaccio baguette with mushrooms. It wasn't a tasty combination. The service was a bit slow at one point, but we asked if we could order. I wouldn't rush back. Such a shame. Lovely place, nice and bright. We come here regularly. Good service, beautiful view, and the food has been perfect so far.

Pumpkin soup is very tasty and filling, and the red velvet cake is amazing too. It’s a great place near the river to have a delicious lunch!

What a disappointment, weak coffee to begin with. The sandwiches were fine, but no staff came by to ask if we wanted another drink. We were chatting happily together. I called the young lady to order another drink and to point out that the products on the table were past their sell-by date. And then the iced coffee arrived: a glass of milk with caramel, a splash of coffee, and a whole lot of ice cubes. Absolutely no flavor. I pointed this out to the staff, who didn't appreciate it and told them we were complaining. She wanted to make something else, but I didn't like her tone at all. A waste of money, and we'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Another delicious meal at De Kerels today. Delicious bread and generous toppings. We arrived at 1 p.m., peak hour, and it was quite busy, so we had to wait a bit longer for our first drinks and our dishes. There was no rush, so that didn't spoil the fun... the food itself and the friendly service made up for that. Ample parking and a view of the Maas River and Spijkenisse Bridge... The price is based on a meal with two drinks.

Normally I don't bother writing reviews but this experience was so bad that I will this time. First of all, it took too long before we were helped. Then the order didn't come through correctly and after it became clear that we were missing a sandwich, we were also blamed for it because we hadn't said it properly (nonsense). Indignant and without an apology or further explanation of what was going to happen, the gentleman walked away without saying anything. Then I saw that he was still making the sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich didn't match the menu - it was very dry and clearly hastily thrown together. Then, when we left, no one looked up or around. Too bad!

Nicely decorated place, service slow and uninterested. Food too simple, takes a long time. We had an omelette and a homemade tuna salad on bread. Both dishes were very basic and the preparation took a very long time. For us a one-time visit

Always a nice place to have a drink, snack or ice cream. Last week with nice weather and the little one went for an ice cream. Very friendly staff and owner. Keep it up!

Enjoyed lunch at Kerels aan de Maas on a chilly day. Located on the -indeed- Maas, overlooking the Spijkenisser Bridge. Cozy decor and a table by the window. Smooth service with a simple but sufficient menu. Choice of croquettes with bread (simple, tasty bread but not home-made croquettes) with a limited garnish. Sandwich and "tasting" show more cooking skills, these are definitely recommended. Excellent coffee and good red and white wine. Good place for lunch (note, only lunch is served there).

The location is not directly on the Maas, but you do look out onto the water from some tables. The other tables therefore have a view of the street and/or garden. Parking is free and available in front of the door. We had lunch there. The food was fine for me, I had the tasting but my son's omelette was very salty. The coffee and smoothie were delicious. The service could certainly pay more attention, it sometimes took a very long time before someone came. All in all, it was nice to have lunch, but we didn't think it was very special in terms of taste or location.

Been to Kerels aan de Maas twice now with 2 young children and the food was very nice, friendly staff, and they have a sweet little play corner where children can play. The food was delicious and we were able to sit outside.

Cozy tent for a good cup of specialty coffee with something tasty. I like to come here and chat with my daughters. 🤗 You also have a beautiful view of the open bridge. Always nice to be able to look at it from a distance instead of standing in a traffic jam. Also good at processing your sh*t bridge traumas so nice and safe behind glass and the perfect emotional food at hand. This nice place is highly recommended! ❤️

Nice restaurant with friendly service. Nice place to see the water from inside. The terrace is located at the rear and was closed today but will certainly be wonderful to relax in the summer. The coffee was very good as was the apple pie and mango/passion fruit pie. Lunch menu looked good but we'll try that next time.

I really love it here. It is our go to stop when we are travelling back to England on the ferry.

Had a super delicious treat (high tea) at the Kerels today. Very friendly people in the service and a pleasant atmosphere in the shop. The snacks were all homemade, fresh and really tasty! We got a soup, 2 types of sandwiches and a savory muffin as the first round. And we finished with chocolates, butter cake, red velvet cake, mini muffins and scones. All really delicious! We will definitely come back.

Hey, here you have the best view, if it is not raining and cloudy. But the atmosphere is good and the staff super friendly. It's a strange sight to see no guys among the staff, but it's all 👍🏽

Delicious, service really did their best, but they were slow in serving the bar. Bartender was more concerned with herself than with the guests. Overall atmosphere was good for lunch time.

Food is tasty, especially the Croquettes. However, a lot was forgotten, no honey with the mint tea and we did not receive the Croquettes with our order. But something can always go wrong, no disaster, just come back :)

We were going to have lunch with friends of ours at Guys a/d Maas, reservations were not necessary. Upon arrival there was still a table for 5 people available and it was cleared immediately. After 10 minutes one of us went to get menus. After another 10 minutes we got off again because we were being avoided. We went to 't Plateau and had a delicious meal there and it is definitely recommended. No guys at/d Maas again!!!!

After 10 minutes on the terrace I went inside. A waitress was standing with her back to me on her phone, whattsapping!!!! I asked if there was still service on the terrace, she was shocked and agreed that there was service. She apologized that she had not seen us. That's right because she was texting on her phone. After ordering 2 drinks it took another 10 minutes for the drinks to be served. It wasn't busy, but apparently it was for the waitresses.

Drink went well. Bitterballen were delicious but last time and now no napkins which we asked for many times like last time. Did not get. But got it myself. All times glasses were still on our tables. Don't be taken away. Very sorry. Messy. All tables of guests who had long left were still not cleared. Very messy. When we arrived, the ladies were happily licking their lips. Correct reception and contact during our visit

Food simple but good, only one of the gentlemen had to shout through the restaurant while talking loudly, busy and making lame jokes. Too bad he was standing very close to our table talking to other guests, very irritating.

Lovely spot along de Maas. Simple, straightforward but tasty items on the menu. Their outdoor seating during a sunny day is even better with a cold beer.

Really cozy restaurant with the tastiest sandwiches I've eaten. Not all servers speak English but they do their best to try and usually they get it right. This is one of the places I always want to visit whenever I'm traveling in the area! Highly recommended!

Had a very delicious rhubarb tart with a delicious cappuccino. Nice location and great service.

The price-quality is not ok. A ham sandwich is 1 slice of ham with some lettuce. I don't know what vegetarian means and what the soup of the day is. Why high tables with high chairs if you yourself say it is uncomfortable.

Tomato soup sounds simple, but at Kerels aan de Maas they have turned it into a culinary party. (Also regarding other soups) What a taste, delicious. And that perfect baguette. Not a few frugal pieces, but plenty of herb butter. I can really enjoy quality, Thank you!!!

On the advice of my girlfriend, we had lunch at Kerels aan de Maas. Upon entering we were ignored by the young gentleman behind the bar, who was too busy with his phone. We chose a table ourselves. Several staff members walked past us. In the end we were able to order in between. We had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks. Then we ordered two sandwiches, which arrived fairly quickly. However, my friend received a completely different sandwich than the one she ordered. No apology was offered to us. Her sandwich was quickly put together and just barely smashed onto the table. Our empty glasses were not noticed, while many staff walked by. The food was simple and sparsely prepared. No more Kerels aan de Maas for us.

It is always very pleasant here. They have a cozy terrace. If you sit inside by the window, you have a beautiful view of the water and the boats that sail by. Food is very tasty and the staff always very friendly.
