Great lamb roti! I was so hungry when got here that I forgot to take photos! I took the lamb and beans only, as potatoes were .50cents extra and I didn’t want to dilute the lamb flavor. My mum got the veggie roti with pumpkin as an extra portion and that was delicious- the only problem was that the serving side was too little for such a tasty dish! The chilli on the side was truly killer but I must have a death wish as included it in my roti and it added just the right amount of burn. Definitely ranks among my favorite Roti places in Amsterdam!

The chicken and vegetarian roti rolls were delicious! It was my first time trying Surinamese cuisine, which seemed rather similar to Indian, however the spicy pepper sauce blew my head off 😅

I paid €13 for a plate of what was essentially pre-cooked food, and then had to wait 20 minutes for it to arrive. If the ingredients had been freshly prepared, the wait might have been understandable. But the tempeh was clearly pre-cooked, the green beans tasted like frozen vegetables, and the flatbread seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. Neither the quality, the portion size, nor the presentation justified the price or the waiting time. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I expected much better value for money.

I got lamb roti here for almost €19. The food itself was really tasty and the flavor was good, but the portion size was really disappointing. I received hardly any meat, and also very few potatoes and long beans. Just like with the roti roll, which is mostly filled with long beans and potatoes while you can barely see any meat. If you then order the extra version for €2 extra, you literally only get an egg and maybe 3 extra strips of meat. For this price, you just expect a much better portion. It's a real shame, because the taste was good, but the quantity was ridiculously small.

Absolutely terrible experience. I walked in and the order was already sitting there ready, yet the staff member completely ignored me while staying on the phone for several minutes. After waiting patiently with no acknowledgment, I tried to take the order myself since it was clearly prepared, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee became extremely rude and refused to hand over the order at all. The level of disrespect and lack of basic customer service was unbelievable. If this is how they treat people picking up orders, I can only imagine how badly they treat actual customers. Completely unprofessional, arrogant behavior, and a total waste of time. Avoid this place if you expect even the bare minimum of courtesy. 👎👎👎

There is a real problem with hygiene; I hope they pay more attention to cleanliness. The food tastes very bad, and the person who dealt with us was rude.

I went there based on a friend's recommendation, and I really enjoyed the meal!! It had just a very slight hint of spiciness, so it wasn't greasy and tasted great! That's why I even got a roll to go^^ There were a lot of customers getting takeout. You have to clean up yourself after your meal, so the tableware was all disposable.😌

Roopram is a thief. I just ordered a roti roll via Uber for €12.50 + €4 delivery, but it was debited from my account, €21.60!! Don't order online here, pickup is better, so you don't get ripped off!!

Portion sizes have plummeted, while prices have almost doubled in five years. Over €20 per person for a takeaway is obviously excessive. You'd at least expect to be able to enjoy a cozy indoor dining experience, but instead, you're stuck in a drafty, fluorescent-lit mess. Again, that's fine, as long as the price is right. It's a shame, I enjoyed coming here for years, but I'd rather find an alternative nearby with more reasonable prices.

We ordered through uber, for me a vegetarian roti which came in a sealed box, when opening it i found it was filled with about 100-150 gram of green beans, a bit of potato and 1 egg. This was the most depressing roti i have ever seen. The box felt like it was from meals on wheels, i am not a huge eater but this meal left me hungry. If you are vegetarian, there are much better options around. :'(

Bad, I'm not writing this lightly. One roti chicken fillet was €9.50 five years ago. Now it's €18.00. And besides, the portions have gotten much smaller. A typical example of a restaurant serving good food while pricing itself out of the market. To be full now, you have to order at least one extra roti chicken fillet for €18. I think that's a lot of money for a takeaway. And yes, I'm a true Amsterdammer; Warung Mini around the corner is better. I've been going to Roopram for about 10 years, but I think the prices are simply way too high for what you get these days. The quality of Roopram is good, to be honest. But the portions have become very frugal, and the price has gone up considerably. Tip: I don't mind paying more, but don't reduce the portions; serve generous portions! Then it will be fine again! 😃

Roopram is actually my favorite restaurant, so what happened was especially unfortunate. After ordering, my girlfriend and I experienced severe stomach pain, cramps, and diarrhea. My girlfriend even went to the emergency room, where a doctor confirmed it was a bacterial infection. Moreover, the roti rolls were cold when they arrived. Fortunately, Uber Eats refunded the order, but it was an unpleasant experience. Because of this incident, I will never eat there again. Hopefully, the restaurant can take measures to prevent this from happening again, so that others can avoid this.

Last Friday, we got food for 7 people. We all had diarrhea...chicken breast seemed a bit off... The same thing happened to one of us last year. So, no more junk food for us!

For me, this is the best roti here in Amsterdam. The taste is authentic and always consistent, and the portions are generous. It's worth trying; I'd happily drive out of my way for it!

That was it, I did not try the rest. Good service and customer-friendly staff. The atmosphere is almost nothing.

We regularly come back for the roti roll with tempeh, garter and potato (vegetarian). Super fresh, fast service, good portion and just mega tasty!

Never reachable via phone, please make work of your customer service and train staff. * Never cook the meal with pepper or exclude the spicy container from the take away box. *I recommend checking what you receive before leaving the restaurant , because it happens that you do not get what you pay for!

Authentic Roti shop serving amazing food.

We ordered roti with tempe (vegetarian). We got dry roti without sauce. It came with 2 potatoes and lots of beans/long beans? I understand that the vegetarian version is sometimes different, but you really can't sell a roti without sauce. What on earth are we supposed to use the plate for. Really bad and a shame. The taste was good, but roti with dry vegetables?

Suriname taste with euro price What I got the chicken roti that came with string beans and potatoes. It looks like the chicken is not much but it was enough for the meal. (Balance?). Everything was very good. Not super salty but super tasty. Environment Quite a small restaurant, there is not much seating inside, I can see that this could be more of a take out restaurant. But it is cozy enough to dine in which is what I did. There is a bathroom and also a sink once you are done digging in with your fingers. Niceness of the staff Very nice guy. Very patient to explain the menu to me as I try to decide what I want to eat, if not everything. Dollar It was 13-15euros for the meal, which is decent for NL I assume. Can't compare with Suriname pricing which is way cheaper. Yes I would yes. Trusted brand

Disappointing, little meat (2 pieces), little sauce and little potato. Not what I'm used to from Roopram.

Ordered food for delivery. The Bara was microwaved; probably went a little too quickly, because the edges were bone dry and hard. The roti chicken had a bland taste and was poorly packaged - everything had started to leak. No success..

The man who runs this place exudes care and generosity. It makes the food, which is already delicious, that much better. The roti roll with aubergine, green beans, and potato was perfectly balanced and had a warm spice. I also enjoyed the bara and he brought extra sauces to make sure I had enough sauce for the whole thing. Coconut cookies are also a treat. I felt so well taken care of and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

So yesterday I came to the roopram in the south after a long time. It had gotten really bad there for a while, stomach ache from eating, strange taste in the sauce of the roti and I hoped that this had changed, but that turned out not to be the case in East Amsterdam, never had these problems. Very unfortunate because in south Usher it is never as busy as in the east. Better wait in line longer.

Tasty but expensive small portions

After advice from colleagues, I thought: I'll see for myself whether I like Roopram Roti Van Waowstraat. but personally I find it very disappointing. I ordered a roti roll on 28-11-2024, and it was ready within 2 minutes (which I find strange) and I also like my own roti roll much better than at Roopram. next time you can cook it yourself at home.

This time I went to Roopram Van Woustraat and I was completely happy! Delicious food, meat, gravy, potatoes and vegetables well seasoned. Great weather! I will come to this branch from now on.

Tasty roti, but bizarrely small portion. 1 tablespoon potato and 1.5 tablespoon beans. A bit strange for 14 euros. There is little Surinamese about this Dutch sparseness

Food is as always delicious/excellent, one of the best Rotis I have eaten. The place is located in one of the busiest streets in Amsterdam. You can also eat inside, but it's just standard, don't expect much. Staff can be friendly, a bit nonchalant, but that's because they know they probably have the best Surinamese food. Overall 100% worth it.

Maybe it was a coincidence, but I visited on October 2, 2024 and there was a really bizarre, dirty, penetrating toilet smell in the store. Like you were eating in the toilet. It smelled like diarrhea instead of roti.

This is simply THE BEST roti in the South. Of course for takeaway or ordering because the atmosphere is aimed at a quick bite. There is often a line, but it is definitely worth it.

Roopram was known as one of the best roti in Amsterdam. Nothing left. Order 2x roti chicken fillet extra, the only thing extra was boullion with my chicken. Potato too salty. Chicken was dry and seemed to be swimming in broth. And to top it all off, they forget to give me a roti plate. How bad. Never again

Delicious roti, actually only get it at one other place; if I were in the west. Furthermore, I haven't tried other rotis for years because I know they can't match it. Doesn't it say enough when it is so busy there every day that the line sometimes starts outside and they also have a Roopram in Suriname? Oh and people with allergies or dietary requirements; The roti plate is also made here. So no person who looks at you questioningly from behind the counter if you want to know whether a certain ingredient is in a dish.

I was with my girl at a Thai massage, a few doors down. After this visit we were a bit sleepy and hungry. I hadn't eaten a roti in a while. My partner had a roti with fish and pepper. I myself had a roti with chicken. I'm not a roti specialist, but this is very tasty! If I'm going to eat roti, which isn't often, I'll go there.

What terrible service! No line. Everyone just walks in and orders. Then the roti roll chicken. I could literally count my chicken and potato, a total of 3 pieces of chicken breast and potato and the rest a few pieces of long beans on a tepid rotivel. It was not a Surinamese roti. If you go back and say something about it, the man behind the counter says that I'll just take it. Never again!

Yummy first experience for Surinamese-Dutch cuisine. The chicken roti or meal (basically a deconstructed roti wrap) was such comfort food, with a mild (curry?) chicken with green beans and potatoes. Giving 4 stars because service was very, very slow even when there was practically noone else. Would hesitate to come here to a meal if you don't have a lot of free time.

Excellent. First time trying Suranamise food and loved it. A busy, no frills restaurant but had a fast moving queue. Favourite was the Roti Eco
