Sranang flavor in Dapperbuurt

I had a terrible experience here. Everything was microwaved, that thing was working on overtime. The egg in the Rotie lamsvlees I ordered was grey from being microwaved. The sauce hid nothing, it was clearly microwaved. The bread was dry and disintegrated into sawdust, and the meat wasn't anything special. I considered walking out when I got the food, but didn't (unfortunately) I'm just surprised I didn't get sick on my trip home or days later. Nice enough staff, no complaints. The ambience was okay/subpar, seemed outdated to me. I don't get why this place has such raving reviews about it, did I arrive on a bad day, did I order the wrong thing, did I walk into the wrong establishment? I wish that I had taken some pictures now, to show all this, but it didn't cross my mind at the time.

Great Saoto Soup. I chose to pick it up, called when i was in front of the door, ordered and within 15min i was on my way! Soup was amazing. Definitely will come here more often!

Very good! Generous portions. The younger waiter was very attentive, the older one couldn't answer our culinary questions… Basic place. But thanks to the unique and flavorful food, I'm giving it 4 stars.

A nice and popular Suriname restaurant in the middle of Amsterdam. It serves various authentic foods and beverages which reminds me of my home country-Indonesia. The satay was tender with nice sweet peanut sauce. The food portion were really big, that I think we can share for 2-3 people. The price is very reasonable.

A very tasty Surinamese takeout restaurant. We came all the way from Soest because of a nice video on Instagram by ChefvandeLeq. Note! They no longer have a restaurant, only takeout! The restaurant burned down. It's definitely delicious Surinamese food, and definitely worth it. Everything is homemade and very fresh. But I had an even better Surinamese meal at restaurant New Draver. I got this tip from a customer who was ordering at the same time as me. The homemade sambal is fantastic, and so is the food!
