Good but the old lady did try to upsell on food and drink at every opportunity. But the food was good.

Best thai food in the city . And every year during Ibc it’s our must go place

What an absolutely wonderful experience at Royal Thai in Amsterdam! From the moment we walked in, everything was simply exceptional. The restaurant itself is beautiful, elegant, and spotlessly clean. You can immediately tell that a lot of care and attention goes into creating such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to sit, relax, and enjoy a proper Thai meal. The hospitality was truly outstanding. The staff were incredibly warm, kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout our entire visit. They made us feel genuinely looked after, and their friendliness added so much to the experience. It’s not often that you come across service that feels this sincere and personal. And then there was the food - absolutely phenomenal! 🇹🇭❤️ The flavours were incredible, beautifully balanced, and, most importantly, genuinely authentic. Having travelled to Thailand three times, I feel I have a pretty good sense of the difference between Thai food that is simply inspired by Thailand and food that truly captures the authentic flavours of the country. Royal Thai absolutely delivered. Every dish tasted fresh, flavourful, and thoughtfully prepared. The food went far beyond our expectations and honestly transported us straight back to Thailand. A huge compliment to the entire team at Royal Thai for creating such a beautiful restaurant and such a memorable dining experience. Fantastic food, exceptional hospitality, a gorgeous and immaculate restaurant, and genuinely lovely people. We will absolutely be coming back. What an incredible restaurant! I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. I’ve had Thai food all over the world, and this is hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. Every dish was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional — a solid 10/10!!!!

Very tasty Thai food. We are big eaters (from Belgium), so we felt the portions could have been just a little bigger. Some starters were also just a bit too expensive for the portion size.

We had lunch here on a weekday, place was not busy, only 2 other tables occupied. The waitress must of had a bad day, she never cracked a smile nor was friendly. After taking our orders, she brought us rice which we did not ordered. When we told her that, she gave us a side stinky eye. At the end of our meal, she started clearing the table, leaning her body against my shoulder, I felt like she was pushing me aside. Food was decent, will not come, do not recommend this place.

Best Thai food ever had , specially there Mango sticky rice and Pad Thai

Terrible experience. Definitely not recommended. This was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences we had in Amsterdam. The food was extremely oily, tasted awful, and was simply not enjoyable. We ordered the shrimp toast and chicken fried rice, and both were so bad that we barely touched them. I had actually been in Thailand just one month before visiting Amsterdam, so I know what good, authentic Thai food should taste like. What we were served here was nowhere close to it. None of the staff appeared to be Thai either, and I heard them speaking a different language with workers from another restaurant. What shocked me most was the service. The waitress clearly noticed that our plates were almost completely untouched and even looked surprised, but she never asked if there was anything wrong with the food. Instead, the only thing she asked me was, “Where are you from?” Seriously? If a customer leaves almost the entire meal untouched, wouldn’t the obvious question be whether something was wrong with the food? On top of all that, the restaurant was extremely expensive for such poor quality. After seeing so many positive reviews, I genuinely don’t understand how our experience could have been this bad. My advice to both tourists and locals: Amsterdam has plenty of much better places to eat. Save your money and go somewhere else. I would never return.

I had a delicious meal here with a friend. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned. Both the starter and main course were very tasty, and the dessert is definitely recommended! The service was friendly and the staff came by regularly to ask if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else. The restaurant is neat, atmospheric, and has a beautiful interior. Deliciously prepared and seasoned, not your average fast food. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We were there on a Monday evening at 8 pm in August and had reserved online. It wasn't necessary. The restaurant was busy, but there were always free tables available.

After a long day of dance me and my people came to enjoy some quality food and the whole experience here was great too to finish. We ordered the pad Thai and fried fish curry and all got Thai iced tea. And let me tell you, it was delicious. The curry personally was out of this world. TBH We were so hungry that I forgot to take photos

If you’re in Amsterdam and searching for REAL, AUTHENTIC and no pretence Thai Food - this is the restaurant to visit. DO NOT MISS. The flavour is ON POINT - and do not forget to end it with their Coconut Ice Cream!

The food was fine, but unfortunately I had severe stomach pain for the days afterward. The service by the older lady was awkward and strange; a lot of staring and not welcoming. Tip for the restaurant: hire people who are a bit more assertive and enthusiastic in their work.

Way too expensive for the amount of food you get. The food was edible but nothing special. You can get cheaper, bigger portions of the same food at every asian snack. The juices tasted like cheap, sugary juices from the supermarket. In addition to that, the Thai background music was really loud. I absolutely can't recommend this restaurant.

Treat yourself and come here and order the chicken pad thai. The shrimp one is also excellent, and ask for it to be a little spicy if you like it. We really felt like we were back in Thailand. Bravo!

We really wanted to eat Thai food, and Royal Thai was the closest place we were in at the time. It had good reviews, so it was worth a try. We ordered the Tom Kha Kai soup as a starter. This was the best Tom Kha Kai soup I have ever eaten. Even 8 weeks in Thailand couldn't compare. The main course we had was also very tasty, but the soup was AMAZING. The restaurant itself is also very atmospheric, by the way. So definitely recommended. I think the price is average for the Amsterdam area. Certainly not absurdly expensive. We had to pay 76 euros for a starter, two main courses, and 2 juice drinks.

Royal Thai on Lange Leidsedwarsstraat delivered exactly the kind of meal you hope for when you wander off the Leidseplein tourist rush looking for something real. We were a group of hungry friends and ordered generously: two Tom Yam Koong that hit that perfect balance of sour, spicy, and fragrant, a rich Keang Khiow Waan Neua (green curry beef) with proper depth, and a spread of rice dishes including Khaw Phad Bai Krapaow and a genuinely satisfying Phad Thai Kai. The food is the standout here. Flavours were bold and authentic rather than watered down for the crowd, portions were solid, and everything came out hot and quick even on a busy evening. Service was warm and attentive throughout, which made the night easy. The atmosphere is cosy and central, though the room can get a little tight and noisy when it is packed, so it leans lively rather than relaxed. It is not the cheapest Thai in the city and the bill adds up when you order for the table, but the quality justifies it and nobody left hungry. A reliable pick if you want dependable, punchy Thai food in the heart of Amsterdam. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience here in Amsterdam. Every single dish was delicious and prepared with incredible flavor. We truly enjoyed the authentic dishes served. The rich, creamy curry dish, in particular, was highly recommended. It is also nice that the menus are printed on the table as placemats, which immediately creates a pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back here again.

I almost never put one star, What I’ve got delivered was one of the worst Thai food I ate that I paid 56€ for a soup, a salad and“pad Thai” The soup was ok but the rest after trying went directly to the bin, I see lots of positive reviews so maybe that’s only poor or lower quality food when preparing for a takeout… At least having Defqon festival cancelled is not the worst thing anymore that happened to me this weekend 🤷‍♂️

Food: We shared the Thai Red Curry Fry Fish. The dish was amazing. It had everything I was expecting from an authentic Thai coconut curry. There were tons fish fillet on the dish, the sauce was creamy and very well seasoned. A pot of white rice is included. Thai iced tea was refreshing. Service: Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. Ambiance: Beautifuly decorated. Comfortable seating on ratan backed chairs and slab veined tables. Perfect for a date night, friends and family geg together. Value: Prices were reasonable for Amsterdam for the quality of food and service.

This was not really Thai food for us but probably the one of the most satisfying food we were able to find in Amsterdam at all. The spicy beef dish was pretty tasty, meat was nice and soft and the spice level was perfect. The pad kee mao was not quite others I have had, but we enjoyed it. The green curry had this powdery texture, but we didnt care, just ate it. The food is quite expensive for what what you get; however, I would probably eat here cuz most everything else around central is not good at all.

This restaurant has a strong confidence about their recipes. Cause we were just asking the choice which they recommended, every recommendations are worth the try.👍
