Truly the best falafel I’ve ever had. The Big Sababa with halloumi cheese, pomegranate, and the citrusy sauce they put with it … is just perfectly balanced! I should explore the rest of their menu, but this one is so good I’ve had it more than a dozen times

Dont have any pics the food was delicious. 10e for a hearthy bun is something. Quality price report is ok comparing prices in amsterdam. Would definetly recommend if you go 2 people and spend like 30e. The fried cauliflower i heard is a blast!!!

Update your opening hours. I just walked over here to find at 12:30 it’s not open despite it saying midday on here.

Disappointing Welcome Despite Great Food: I’ve always enjoyed the food from Sababa and have ordered online many times, so I thought I’d stop by in person to support the place. Unfortunately, my visit left a sour taste—not because of the food, which was as good as ever, but because of the reception I received. I walked in at 9:10pm, well before their 9:30pm closing time. The restaurant was empty and clearly in the process of winding down, which I understand—but the way I was greeted felt unnecessarily cold. When I asked for a shawarma, the cook let out a loud sigh and rolled her eyes. She then came over and asked, rather curtly, “Do you eat meat?” I replied yes, and was met with another exasperated sigh. At that point, I even offered to leave to make it easier for them to close up, but it was disappointing to be made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. I really wanted to like this place even more after so many good delivery experiences, but after that encounter, I’m not sure I’ll return or continue ordering. Good food is important—but so is basic courtesy.

Sababa is really nice. Good food, plenty of choice, nice fries. Please never retire the Sabich because it is great. Nice people on the phone, flexible. I haven't actually eaten in at any point so I don't know about atmosphere. Figured 4 would probably be fair.

Good food. Mainly takeaway with only a few tables but you could eat in and watch the world go by.

Food quality is amazing. Fresh and very tasty, especially the falafel. Customer service on the other hand was very mediocre. Blonde lady hardly greeted us and couldn't even smile and used her hands to touch absolutely everything - the till, the food, the utensils, etc. No thank you or manners used. Even when asked if the sweet potatoe fries would come with salt on, she said yes, but they didn't. She even burnt the first batch of sweet potato fries, and I watched her put them in the bin. Shop wasn't busy, and I was the only one being served food.

Ordered here twice and both times got falafels burnt. Wasn't edible for me. The sauce was tasteless and watery. Not worth repeating

For a second, I thought I was eating a meatball—that’s how good the falafel was. Just unreal. And that mango-feta salad? So refreshing. Although, called ahead to be polite—half an hour before closing, plenty of time. Girl on the phone goes silent, then finally hits me with, “I think it’s too late.” Alright, weird. I mention I live a minute away, but before I can even finish my sentence, she cuts me off—“Check Uber Eats. BYE.” Click. Not that deep, just a first for me. But that falafel? So good, I’d still go back.

Insanely well balanced flavours that are delicious. The sabada classic is vegan, packed with flavour and nutrition. Decent portion size that'll leave you feeling full.

The camera did not eat first. Food was delicious and devoured quickly. Great spot for a casual dinner in Amsterdam.

Disappointed with the Pita and falafel both and even the sauce. Go to Sir Pita instead similar stuff but much much better

I recently ate a pita sabich, fries and cauliflower side here. Flavors were as always very good and slightly different than other places. Good portions too. Also lots and lots of different vegetables which makes it feel nice and healthy🌞 While it is also real comfort food. Yum! I can recommend it to everyone to eat here or order a delicious meal (and especially don't forget to order the sabich)

Soggy old food, staff very rude, I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food

Ordered via UberEats, 1 pita was missing. Called the restaurant, the employee on the phone was extremely friendly and resolved the matter very quickly and adequately. We even received extra to compensate for the inconvenience. Great service!

Used to be my favorite and now it’s the biggest disappointment ! All the ingredients were fresh and good portion, the bread used to be so fresh it fell like was baked that day. Now the bread doesn’t even look like was done this week, the humus is some weird sauce that they created and there is no cheek-peas at all. Overall quality of the ingredients is extremely poor. I can’t even compare with the experience I had the past months.

Delivers exactly what it promises! If you want to have a quick bite but don’t want to have the “snack bar vibe” this is a perfect compromise. The food is very good! (I had the pita with halloumi and falafel and my boyfriend had the one with spicy cauliflower) both very good! People are friendly - you order via a screen and there is no table service but that was expected. The seating options are cozy and the interior is appealing. Free tab water from a stone sink in the middle of the room. Definitely worth trying out!

Used to be one of my favorite places to order from, lately the portion has gone way down. The pita is no longer well filled and far too little for a dinner, especially for that price. Even with too little sauce. Shame!

Low cost place to eat well in Amsterdam. Wide variety including vegan. Quick.

Regularly get a sandwich with fries here to take away. In fact, there is always something wrong with the order, sometimes half of the ingredients are missing from the sandwich, other times the fries are limp and cold. Even got meat once even though I had ordered vegetarian! And now we received the wrong fries again, 1 portion of which was just cold. All in all I won't go there again. Not so sababa sababa…

Good and healthy pita with falafel.

Previously it was fresh and tasty now bland and a very very small portion. Ordered 2 sandwiches and fries for over 30 euros. Sandwiches are small and poorly filled and the fries were such a small portion that we counted out of ridicule… 30 “pieces” of fries for €4.50. Scandalous, perhaps a victim of its own success. In any case, reason to never order again.

Falafel is dry! A real shame, for this price you expect good food.

It is a very cozy place around the Pijp, the service is extremely nice, the food is delicious! Very fresh ingredients, healthy food! The salad bowl was my favorite but the pitas are delicious too, and the fries with hummus are also a must!! I definitely recommend this place. You can also find vegan ice creams and brownies!!

Such a cozy little gem that serves delicious Middle Eastern pita, flatbread and salads with amazing sides. I love their sweet potato fries as well as crazy cauliflower as sides. You can also order online but the atmosphere is really sweet to dine in as well! ✨🧡

I had a Shawarma Pita and it tasted really bland and far from delicous. (even though I asked for making it spicy). It doesn´t have anything to do with a real Shawarma for me.

Very very tasty hummus. Shawarma pita was good, but could be more spicy and flavorful. Excellent fries. Good for take away or a quick bite there. But no atmosphere to spend a long dinner in the restaurant.

The Big Sababa is delicious! Good Vegetarian options, nice atmosphere and nice people. The vegan lemon mayonnaise is highly recommended!

This place is definitely underrated!! We had the vegan pita with falafel and it was super fresh, full of flavor and beautifully arranged. The seating is relatively limited but it (surprisingly) wasn’t crowded at all. The prices are totally on par and the portions a good size. The staff was really friendly and gave off a great vibe! The atmosphere is really laid back with great music and the food being prepared basically in front of you.

The menu has changed. All the spicy stuff has been removed, no more harissa. Only pita sandwiches. Most of the business is take away. Bland food dressed in mayo. There are only 4 small tables.

All dishes are stolen from the Arabic cuisine so the taste is mediocre, lacks a soul and spices.

Good: Pita and sweet potato fries were tasty. Less good/bad: - it smelled like urine in the restaurant. It didn't come from the toilet, so where did it come from?.... didn't give a nice feeling while eating. - The restaurant didn't look very clean either. - the waitresses were mainly having a good time with each other and paid little attention to us. - atmosphere could be better

Very wholesome food and at appropriate price. We had hummus, cheesy wrap and shwarma. The flavour was very good and the vegetables and sauces had this fresh taste. When we went there was a rush for online orders so we received our food late..but that's okay..the taste was very good.

Our son bought us here for late lunch . Absolutely delicious food and we were so hungry and service fairly quick and freshly made to order .

Overrated! Food tasted "okay" but not very flavourful (looked way yummier and more special on the pictures). I recommend getting a regular kebap instead as it is basically mostly the same and probably half the price!

Heerlijke Sabich, mits goed klaargemaakt. Helaas is dat steeds vaker niet het geval. Te vaak missen de sauzen, is de aubergine te zout, is de spinazie tot snot gegaard. Geldt ook voor de locatie in West helaas.
