This place fully embraces tradition, so I recommend it to those who are curious to try something authentic and deeply linked to Asian culture. If you are looking for new and typical flavours, this is the right place for you. The service was quick and the waitresses extremely friendly, always attentive and helpful. The quality of the food, especially the meat, was truly excellent, and the meat broth stood out with its intense and rich flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and relaxing, ideal for enjoying a meal in peace. An experience that I recommend to those who appreciate traditional Asian cuisine. Only note: you cannot pay by card and you can only request a glass of free tap water

Don't listen to the negative reviews. Those people obviously have no clue what Vietnamese food is supposed to be like apparently. If you love Pho you will love it. If you're not vegan I highly recommend Beef Brisket Pho. It's how I judge. It was terrific, and probably the best spring rolls I've had. It's a bit pricey, but so is everything when you're in a transportation hub. Love you guys. Will see you today sometime.

Saigon but doesn’t have Saigon beer

It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants, and I don't think it's particularly delicious, but it's not bad either. The service is quite friendly. Maybe because of the location, it's always full during meal times, but the table change rate is pretty fast.

I am not knowledgeable about Vietnamese food, so take everything I write with a grain of salt. Tonight we visited this place with my friend for dinner. I ordered 2 Chicken Spring Rolls, 2 Prawn Spring Rolls, a fried softshell crab and a beer. First they delivered 8 spring rolls, 4 from each. I didn't want to make it too big of a deal, math is hard sometimes, I know... But the real problem started when I couldn't tell the difference between chicken and prawn spring rolls they were all very tasteless. And I have had spring rolls before, so I kinda knew what to expect. Then they served softshell crab, it didn't taste at all, could have been fried paper as well. While I was complaining, my friend suggested I should try the sauce that came with the crab. Oh my god... it tasted like fermented dirty sea water. Before writing this comment, I tasted a couple of things from the fridge, just to make I'm not sick or anything and my tastebuds work normally... so yes I can still taste. Again, maybe the Vietnamese food is not for me. But man... I'll mourn for a long time for the 39.50 Euros I spent for dinner tonight.

I used to come here very often but this time looks like they have changed the manager, to someone who has bad attitude to customer. He didn't accept any feedback of the food. Even after I said I do not want to have refund, just want to share the feedback. Still, he did not want to admit that the food has problems. Instead, he blamed me not telling him one hour ago when the food was just delivered. All I wanted to hear is "thanks for your feedback". Is this too much to ask for?

All the dishes were disappointing. The broth was too salty, and the bun bo looked like it had added food coloring. The spring rolls were undercooked, with rice paper that was both hard and chewy at the same time (how does that even happen?). The glass jelly dessert had hardened so much, it felt like chewing on tires. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Paid five euros for two small spring rolls, the size of my little finger. Outrageously expensive.

Regular customer at saigon caphe gelderlandplein but this time tried the spot at central station. When i made the order the payment went through but since i did not get any receipt they told me to pay once more altough i did made the payment already. After a bit of a discussion, the manager came and manage to find out that the payment had been made but they reimbursed me. Finally i made the order once more. They thought i did not understand dutch…..the person whom helped me at first asked the manager wether the first payment went through and the manager said to her, no she didn’t pay 🙄 to my surprise since the payment did went through from my account and they simply reimbursed it to my account to make me redo the order….. Would defintely not return to this location anymore. Service at Saigon gelderlandplein is much better

Hands down the best place for food at Amsterdam Centraal. The meals are tasty and freshly prepared, and the staff are very friendly.

Wonderful food. The deep fried spring rolls are delicious and I’m struggling to find it in my country. The place is small but nice and you’ll have a nice river view along with the central station movement. Staff is friendly and quick.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I loved this restaurant so much that I went there three times in just a week. As a Việt, I'm super picky with the phổ but I can affirm that the one at Sài Gòn Cà phê is an authentic one ! The soup, the noodles and the beef are excellent. The caramel duck, served with rice is also very good. The prices are very reasonable for a restaurant in the center of Amsterdam. Nice people, and amazing view. You can enjoy your meal while looking at the boats on the canal.

Amsterdam Central Station mostly closes at 8pm. It's open until 9:30 p.m., so it's a good option if you're having a late dinner.

No. 1 Niuhe, which has a large portion, is a tougher version of Gui Diao, not a soft version of pho.

We were first asked whether we wanted to eat or just drink. Since we wanted to eat something, we were assigned a table. Our service was very nice, the iced tea was beautifully presented and the Bunh Mi were fine. It's a bit dirty but overall ok for a takeaway.

Braised lemon grass beef. It was disgusting 🤮🤮🤮 Bones, fat and the gravy looked like motor oil had zero flavor and not 1 piece of descent meat. Never again

Ze hebben sinds kort denk ik ander personeel. Onbeleefd en schuift zijn fouten in jouw schoenen. Bij binnenkomst gaf ik aan dat ik een tafel voor 1 persoon wilde. Hij wees me richting het raam. Bij het opnemen van de bestelling reageerde hij geïrriteerd waarom ik niet eerder zei dat ik in m’n eentje was. Nu moest hij de tweede set placemat en eetstokjes weghalen. Wat is het probleem? Grote mond en slechte service. Ook het eten leek oud en niet vers bereid. Saigon Caphe is enorm achteruit gegaan de laatste paar maanden.

Good place and convenient like located. It’s on the pier side of Centraal station. The ambience is nice. The place served authentic pan Asian food. We tried the fried rice and spring rolls and the taste was really good.

I have ordered the wok tossed chili prawns and the fried tofu last Saturday 06-07-2024 at SC CS, but it was not as good as normal. Normally both really taste very good and I have ordered these two dishes many times before, but now unfortunately it was tasteless, especially the tofu. The prawns dish was also a bit dry, almost no moist at all. Maybe I am wrong, but it feels like you have a different chef

Too bad, not a Vietnamese restaurant, food is salty and too much oil, not authentic. We did order Pho and bun bo hue , so disappointed, taste so weird. We dont recommend, never come back again.

Immediately stopped at this restaurant at Central Station from the metro. We ordered a soup and a chicken/curry dish with rice. Both were well seasoned. The Vietnamese coffee is also recommended. There is quite a demand for both eating on site and taking away. The food tasted great.

Friends pho was completely cold and they didn't want to serve us at thier tables outside (without explanation why, I offered to take dishes outside and plates back when we are done myself), so they ended up serving us in very wasteful and non green take away containers packaging.

Tengo el caldo de pollo con carne y rodajas crudas de carne pho. Los caldos no tenían sabor, sabían a agua. Caro para un tazón tan pequeño. No recomendaría ni volvería. Un buen punto Pho se basa en su caldo.

Conveniently located near Amsterdam Central Station. The seats were comfortable and nice. I ordered pho. The soup was quite delicious.

The food was under my expectation. Pho’s broth is bland, and sweet soup (suong sa hat luu) missing too many ingredients, flavor and texture. Perhaps suitable for foreigners, but not an authentic Vietnamese cuisine experience.

The food was expensive but good. You don't necessarily have to speak German in Amsterdam, but Dutch would be practical if the service was knowledgeable. We also had slight problems with understanding. Maybe take this into account when assigning tasks. The young waitress was also much friendlier.

What difference between this location and the one at Gelderlandplein. The fresh salad roll with chicken....? Where was the chicken... The nice Braun sause...? Just a drop of it... Sorry will go back to Gelderlandplein.

It's 1h max, as I mentioned earlier madame, so please clear the table please... basically what we were told as we were still enjoying our drinks... the food was so plain my friend left half of it uneaten. Pity.. Vietnamese is my favourite cuisine. Service... not great. It took us 10 or 15min to attract the attention of the waiter... In summary, we will not return there...

My family are coming to visit me in Amsterdam, so I brought them to Saigon Caphe in Centraal Station to enjoy both the food and the water-sided sight. So, all of us (five people) ordered drinks (not even soft drinks) other than our food and we also ordered a desert. In the end, they refused to serve us a free second glass of tap water, which is fine. I get that not every restaurant serves free tap water. But the old-lady actually told us before we left, “You can buy water in the supermarket.” and I find it very very rude. Also we paid cash and she apparently took it granted that they should keep the changes :(

I had dish #422, rice - It was pretty good and tasty.

Excellent! The dishes are really tasty and with the rice dishes two people can share a meal. I ordered 409 and 412 and was very satisfied. The homemade tea with strawberries was really delicious and I can't complain about the staff, the service and the taste. Anyone visiting or coming to Amsterdam Central Station should definitely not miss Saigo Caphe, it's really worth it.

Absolutely unfriendly staff!! We were in Amsterdam for a week and wanted to drink Viet coffee. Google recommended this shop to us, so we drove 35 minutes to the main train station to drink this coffee. On site we were told in a very unfriendly manner that we weren't allowed to sit if we just wanted something to drink and that we couldn't order coffee if we didn't order anything to eat. The waiter claimed he was the boss and didn't want guests like us. They didn't even want to give us take-away! I was very disappointed and angry at such unfriendly, inhumane treatment of guests. No recommendation!!

在中央車站內的一間越式餐廳，只收現金的，店員態度友善，用餐環境舒適，點了兩個生牛肉湯河和凍檸檬茶，味道正宗，份量足夠，不會偏少，雖然價錢不便宜，但是值得推介。

They are not vietnamese, they destroy the vietnamese kitchen with their menu

They lie that they get fined if they allow dogs inside the restaurant, that's not a rule in NL. Another restaurant at the station made it no problem to allow my dog in and even gave her a water bowl. It's already bad enough that you don't allow dogs in a station restaurant but why lie?! They wouldn't even serve us at the tables they put outside of the restaurant either! Very inconvenient when you travel with your pet.

Price performance doesn't fit. Soup for 16 euros without taste.

I'm gonna be honest. I was hesitant to try this place because of the really low rating. But I wanted to see if the Rating deserved or not. I got the Banh Mi Dac Biet to go. The banh mi (bread) itself was not golden brown, the filling too sparse and important ingredients such as patê and mayo were missing. All in all, it was rather disappointing. The staff was friendly though. I hope they will work on improving the recipe so that people in Amsterdam will be able to enjoy delicious & authentic Vietnamese banh mi.

The personal was kinda rude, the lemongrass chicken curry that i ordered was okay in taste but it had huge pieces of chicken breast in it, almost 2 entire huge breasts so it was kinda impossible to cut it into smaller pieces since i got no knife, i also found bones and chicken skin in the curry and i doubt that belongs there.. it would be a tasty and enjoyable dish if the meat pieces wouldn’t be brutally big. The people at the next table found flies in their drink 😕

Handily located for both trains and ferries. We grabbed a bite to eat (salad roll and a Vietnamese sandwich) before travelling back to Schipol airport. Table service was quick and efficient.

Good Vietnamese food. As a Vietnamese, i would recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese food. We got Pho and bun bo hue, they tasted kinda strong favor which i like but I’m not sure for who can’t eat strong fish sauce. 8/10 service was ok. The server didn’t speak Vietnamese and couldn’t order with Viet food name. Viet coffee is good as well

Really yummy Vietnamese food at Saigon. I used to order from their Gelderland Plein branch. So happy to know that have a branch at Centraal as well. The staff were very helpful and polite as well. It was pleasant to dine in.

The food at this restaurant is terrible. The fried rice is not cooked by them it’s most probably bought in bags and heated. The naans have kind of a paste inside they are not made in the restaurant. I don’t recommend.

Was looking for some soup while waiting for my train to paris when I stumbled upon this joint. Food portion was enormous. Very good value for money. Will definitely stop by again.

It’s been one of our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Amsterdam, today marks the “not again” for us. We arrived at round 16:00 and were told ‘temporarily cash only’ at the door. 5mins later, we managed to cash out and returned to the restaurant. We were then told they’re closing though the sign says it’s supposed to close at 17:00 for 31.12. Not sure why the place turns to be so down, and for us, never again.

You would think that since it is a restaurant centrally located in Amsterdam that it would be disappointing... But on the contrary! it really is a good enough place to eat with ease. The price-quality ratio is quite sufficient, for 15 euros you have a complete meal. You can easily order online via their website and then schedule yourself when you will pick it up, so that is great in terms of timing if you want to catch the next train. I am satisfied

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Amsterdam! Not only is it located in the Amsterdam Train Station which is really convenient, but the food as cooked fresh by Vietnamese chefs and tastes amazing! The service was prompt and friendly and I really enjoyed my dinner there. The prices are also very reasonable.

This place is superb and defeat many Vietnamese restaurants in Asia. Great portion at affordable price. I come here every time I visit Amsterdam.

Service kann weder deutsch, vietnamesisch oder gar englisch...und das an einem Touristenhotspot!! Aufgrund der Kommunikationsschwierigkeiten und der nichtvorhandenen Kompromissfähigkeit bei Fehlern wird hier nicht mehr gegessen.

Es gab ein kleines Missverständnis bei der Bestellung, weshalb ich zuerst nur Shrimps statt des erwarteten Hühner- und Schweinefleischs bekommen habe. Nach kurzer Rücksprache, habe ich dann freundlicherweise das erwartete und sehr schmackhafte Essen bekommen. Toller, kulanter Umgang mit dem Problem. Nächstes Mal gerne wieder!

Delicious Vietnamese food. Had the noodles with chicken and shrimp (#3) and the caramel duck breast rice. Noodles had a nice hearty homemade taste. Soup wasn't too salty or overpowering with herb taste. The shrimp was nice and springy. For those that dislike beansprouts, they serve it separately. The duck was nice, thick cut and firm. One of the nicest I've had. Portion size was big, good for sharing. Vietnamese Ice Coffee is highly recommended, although can be a bit sweet due to the condensed milk. I believe they have adapted this to fit local tastebuds. Taste isn't too strong. Service is good, prompt and attentive. Appreciated that the staff would inform guests of waiting time. Atmosphere is good with a nice view. Highly recommend this place.

Really delicious pho, this was the first time we went to this chain restaurant in the central station. The seat was not as much as other places but we don’t have to wait. The waitress was really friendly to kids, chatted with us and offered give away cookies after the bill, that made the day for the kids.

its at the other side of amsterdam central station front entrance, i like that its so close if you want a quick diner. i would say it’s not really authentic, but still good enough to get a taste of vietnamese food.

Met z'n vieren eten bij Pho onder Centraal station in Amsterdam uitkijkend over het rivier 't IJ. Schoon, vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten. Niet nodig om te reserveren.

Al het personeel is veranderd. Waarschijnlijk nieuwe eigenaar? Super zakelijk en toeristisch geworden. Je loopt binnen naar de kassa en voelt gelijk dat het zakelijk en snelsnel is. Ze doen prima hun werk hoor, maar totaal andere sfeer dan vroeger(laatste keer was ik in Januari 2023 erheen gegaan. Toen was alles nog prima) Jullie moeten na uur weg zeggen ze nu, alles snel bestellen en onpersoonlijk. En de orginele smaken zijn helemaal anders geworden, waarschijnlijk hebben ze de kok ook veranderd. Het was vroeger mijn lievelingsrestaurant met veel aandacht voor de klant en goede smaken. Nu is het een snel" geld verdienenzaak" geworden.(het enige wat ik kan bedenken als troost is dat het oude personeel die dag op vakantie was en dat iedereen tijdelijk werd overgenomen.) Massa kassa. Echt zo zonde.

7.50 voor een garnalen sandwich er zat amper garnalen op.. gebakken rijst was flauw, op het Gelderlandplein zijn ze smaakvolleren en zijn de broodjes beter gevuld.
