Had the best tasting burrito and quesasilla ever at this Shop, i assume Only Mexico could top that, friendly aNDEfast staff and a relaxed Atmosphaere,we will come back für Sure!

At first, it was cool, great… but now I see how little barbecue sauce they add, and it's practically nonexistent. I seriously doubt I'll be back. They've drastically reduced the portions 😞. I used to eat it for the protein, but now it's just a wrapped tortilla.

I have been a fan of Salsa Shop, as it is inspired by Chipotle in the US and NL was missing such a concept. It has been a while since the last time I visited this location, and unfortunately it is less nice. Staff is helpful and friendly, no issues there. But Salsa Shop could invest in better touch screens (or not have them at all if they will have such bad ones). They are very unresponsive and slow, it is hard to place a simple order. Food was okayish. I ordered burrito bowl with shredded beef. The beef was not shredded at all and came as a big chunk. Given that you only get a fork and no knife, it is difficult to eat the meat. I have a feeling that portions got bigger :)

I like the food from this shop, but I was a bit annoyed that they never disclosed the fact I would need to pay an extra €0,45 for a takeaway bowl and fork when ordering a burrito bowl at the counter. If there is an extra charge for these things, that is the store’s choice - but the customer should be informed before placing their order. The costs for these items are not disclosed anywhere in the store, unless you order using the self-service kiosk (which I did not).

Just received the wrong food. Got a burrito meant for a lady judging by the name on it, while I had ordered a chicken bowl. Once and for the last time.

Never been here before and don't need to again. We ordered at a touchscreen, where an employee was preparing food with extremely loud hardcore music playing. It was so loud that you couldn't find a quiet spot to eat. We ordered, among other things, a limited offer: real tacos. You click on it, but had no choice or information regarding the sauce or how spicy it was. So after the first bite, my throat was on fire. I briefly asked an employee if this was correct and that I couldn't eat it because it was so spicy (I can handle quite a bit of spicy food). They said it was the sauce; I should just order something else. I asked where it is stated during the ordering process how spicy something is, but she couldn't tell me and couldn't do anything for me. So I left the hardcore noise to eat something quiet somewhere else. A waste of money, never again!

Great food and chill place to enjoy quesadillas and have a break

There are problems with food safety, hygiene, and the quality of the food. After the meal, I developed stomach pain and diarrhea.

don't make the same mistake that i did and get the spiciest sauce. i don't know why i trusted myself that much to eat spice but i was shivering at the end of my meal lol. it was still really tasty and i loved the atmosphere. will definitely come back and get a less spicy burrito this time :) (side not: the burrito comes with coriander)

Worst Mexican food I ever had ... nothing taste the same

Never again. 13 euros for a quesadilla with a beer. The quesadilla was so small I could fit it in the palm of my hand. Four bites and I had finished the whole thing. This must be a joke, right? It helps that it was actually quite tasty.

The wrong food was delivered and everything was cold. I called the store and the only thing they offered was that we could pick up the correct order in the store (not an option and not what I paid 4 euros for delivery) or pick up the right food on another day (oh right, good idea, I won't eat tonight). Useless!

I loved the atmosphere. It's really cozy. Clean. Service optimal. They walk to your table and make it immediately clean. Like it should be. Instead of one cookie i got too. Thanks i'll come back.p

Wonderful food. So wonderful in fact, that even I, a meat-hater, was really looking forward to getting it today. 🩷 Very kind guy took my order. Employee kindness really changes the experience for the better. I don’t know your name, mr. Former Accountant To-Be; but thank you, I’m enjoying it now watching “The Truman Show” at the square outside of the station. 😄 Just too bad I’m all out of hot sauce ;) ;) ;)

We had such a delicious meal at Salsa Shop! 🌯🔥 It's a really nice spot if you're in the mood for fresh, hearty, and flavorful Mexican food! The burrito was nice and warm, generously filled, and super tasty 🤤🌯. The meat was deliciously tender and well-seasoned, and together with the rice, toppings, and sauce, it was truly a perfect combination. You can taste that everything is prepared fresh 👌✨ What I also really like is that you can choose how to put together your meal yourself: from the filling to the toppings and various salsas 🌶️🥑🍅. This way, you can make it exactly to your own taste. And for those who like it spicy, there are of course delicious hot sauces available too 🔥😋 The portions are generous, the ingredients look fresh, and you really get a hearty meal for your money 💯👏. The Jarritos Guava was also deliciously refreshing with it 🥤. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back here again! Highly recommended for anyone who loves burritos and Mexican flavors! 🌯🌶️🔥❤️

I came here 2 months ago. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t given napkins with my food, and the chips came in a bag i don’t know why they just didn’t bring it in a plate. I later asked for utensils because I realized I couldn’t eat the tacos with my hand and the fork wasn’t even clean, very gross. The food was okay, unfortunately i didn’t like the spicy sauce but there was more meat than I expected which is the only positive.

Everything was perfect, friendly staff, good food and the homemade lemonade was banger ‼️

Mexican food... mmm, it falls short; on a scale of 1 to 10, it's at 3%.

Absolute robbery. The quesadilla was gone in two bites, and you pay a nice €10 for it. Service gets one star because they did bring the self-checkout. It was ready quickly, but just walk 10 meters further to Bread & Co and get your lunch there.

We arrived an hour before closing time; we couldn't find anywhere to eat in town, as most restaurants didn't serve local cuisine. That's why we chose this place, since they offered Mexican food. We ordered two bowls, but ingredients meant for my girlfriend's bowl ended up in mine; moreover, I had paid an extra two euros for extra meat, but I didn't get it. Still, the food was good.

I really liked how easy and quick the ordering process was. Everything was simple, and the food arrived without a long wait. The portions are big, the food is tasty, and you’ll definitely leave feeling full. Another thing I appreciated was that they also have gluten-free options, so it’s a place where people with a gluten allergy can enjoy the food without feeling limited. I’d happily come back.

They do a pretty decent job of recreating Tex-mex style fast food like Chipotle. If you are from the USA, you’ve probably had better, but it’s not bad at all. Hits the spot if you are craving a burrito or some tacos. Mexican food is not that easy to find in the Netherlands.

I just came back to this place after 5-6 years and I’m so sorry to see it changed so much and the care about making high quality real Mexican food is definitely not there anymore. There is no direct contact with the employees (none of them are Mexican anymore at this point…), you can only order through a screen like in mc Donald’s, giving very fast food vibes. Not to talk about preparation…the taco’s meat I have to say was really tasty (I had the barbacoa with the spiciest sauce, still also good), but they were barely recognizable as tacos…they were drenched in a bunch of badly cut salad…no lime (I had to ask for it), onions barely cut, some had still the skin on top, no coriander finish….Plus the tortillas while having a good flavor were way too thin and way overloaded so that it was impossible to eat the tacos without it falling apart… in addition to this, I paid extra for guacamole that wasn’t there at all… So yeah overall I’m really sad to see this used-to-be quite authentic Mexican place (one of the few in Utrecht), become this careless fast food delivery sell out… not sure I would be back

It was nice place, we ordered nachos and quesadillas and they turn out to be good.

Thoroughly enjoyed a very large portion of deliciously prepared chicken and beef. Three tacos are actually too much, especially if you order the corn taco. It was very generously topped. And it's fantastic that you can see the corresponding macros on the ordering kiosk! The service that brought the dishes was also nice. And it's handy to have a real sink to wash your hands before and after eating!

Nobody speaks Dutch and the tacos are very gross, they fall apart just like that.

This was my first time at Salsa Shop, and I actually didn't really know how everything worked. Fortunately, the cashier really took the time to calmly explain everything to me. I immediately considered that a big plus. In the end, I ate a delicious Chicken Bowl. The food was brought to the table neatly, which I also really appreciated. While I was eating, I noticed that the same employee who had helped me was also serving other guests in a friendly manner and bringing their food to the table. Everyone was spoken to politely, and a friendly "enjoy your meal" was wished every time. At the end, I even asked for his name, because I believe that employees who work with so much enthusiasm, friendliness, and professionalism deserve to be put in the spotlight. His name turned out to be Chris, and that is why I would like to compliment him on his excellent service. Thanks to the tasty food and friendly service, my first experience at Salsa Shop was very positive. I will definitely be back!

Lovely people, but most of all lovely food. I was served by a very kind Scottsman today, who I guess is also a fellow polyglot - and I forgot to say, that was some impressive Dutch! The fact that everyone working today - including a Scottsman - spoke Spanish added a touch of authenticity to the food. My only annoyance was with the degree to which the chunks of avocado in the guacamole were oxidized, but I guess that sometimes happens. The kind Scottish fellow who had my best interest at heart, seemed to think I wouldn’t be handle the fiery habanero salsa, but as you can see, it’s all gone. 😏 Why not serve some ghost pepper salsa next time? I dare you to. 🌶️ ☠️ All jokes aside, thanks for this lovely food. Yours really is the best of all of the food joints out there. 👌🏻

I don't understand how this place can still have more than 4 stars on Google Maps. The burrito I ordered was mostly very cold inside. When I inquired, they said it was true that it contained cold ingredients and that this was normal. Well, it wasn't quite an ice cream, but it wasn't far off (I paid nearly 15 euros for this monstrosity, too). From now on, I will steer clear of this place. I would also like to add that there are a disproportionately large number of positive reviews here from accounts with very few reviews to their name. I don't entirely trust this and cannot shake the impression that reviews are being bought.

I came here with my 2 friends, we had the burritos. They were really good. After the food a lovely employee let us try the new lemonades they are really good especially the strawberry one!!

There was a girl with blonde bangs that was being very mean to her colleagues which was not nice to see as a customer. It made the environment a little bit hostile to the client but the food was amazing tho.

It is delicious, fresh, and still feels semi-healthy, but it is impossible to eat the way the burrito is wrapped.

Was looking forward to Mexican and was disappointed by the soggiest Taco's I've ever had. Just disintegrating as you pick them up... The flavours were basic and even the fresh elements weren't doing that job of feeling fresh (just cold).

The store has had a revamp recently and I love it. Ordering your own food is a game changer. The music is very enjoyable, even my 8 year old is enjoying the vibe this place has. We had the full loaded Nachos and the chicken cheese quesadilla and we were not disappointed. Full of flavor

Taco was half cold, bad taste, impossible to eat it falls apart in your hands and at the end there is not even where to wash hands, no toilet.

Honestly it's been a long time I didn't have such a poorly coocked dish. The burrito I ordered was completely soaked in sauce, there was way too much of it so you could taste only vinegar. Moreover half of the burrito was cold... never going here again.

Vegan or Vegetarian people please keep and eye when they prepare a meal for you , being a vegetarian and asked for vegetarian bowl they put the minced chicken into it plus I asked for extra grilled vegetables where I can’t find anywhere in the bowl. Now I am not sure how I can get my money back.

I really like the burritos! The meat is warm and the vegetables are fresh! I also find the staff very friendly and the food arrived quickly.

It was so bad, it was life changing. It really made me reevaluate my life. I want to make sure that I never have to be in a situation where I have to eat here, ever again. My burrito was soaking wet with grease. It was leaking through the bottom of the aluminum foil. I don’t know how, but the bottom half of my burrito was cold due to the pile up of grease. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, the worst burrito I’ve ever had. After the first bite, I wanted to throw it away, but i can’t stand throwing away food so I tried to soldier on. On to the tacos. I hoped they would be better. They were filled with so much lettuce and cold cheese, I wondered if I had placed the wrong order. I could not taste anything beyond the lettuce and cold cheese. It was bizarre, and so unbelievably bad. It was awful and pretty expensive for the value and amount you receive. Employees were friendly though. So in summary, don’t eat here. Go to a real Mexican place.

Really nice food, but, really bad to no service and huge delay in food preparation

Terrible experience. The customer service was awful. After waiting more than 35 minutes, our order never arrived. After several requests, they processed a refund to the card, and we will have to wait and see if the amount is actually returned. By then, there was no time left to eat before catching our train. All we received were apologies. The place is extremely disorganized, and it felt like no one knew what was going on. Definitely not a good experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Salsa Shop is good, but this location is incredibly stingy. There's barely any meat on the sandwiches. I've had everything with double meat, and even then, there's barely any meat in it. Other Salsa Shop locations are better, especially the one in Amsterdam. I've tried this one countless times, and every time you're left with a burrito and salad. I wouldn't recommend it.

we waited for 20 mins hoping it’d be worth it. half of the burritos were cold probably from the cold toppings but it was hard to understand why the burritos were not warmed up on the grill after wrapping which is the right way. small portion for €13 filled with lots of rice, little meat and no taste. huge disappointment.

The food was good, however, the portion of quesadilla was not very generous. The staff were friendly-ish, nothing special to be honest. The reason for my bad review is that I was very surprised when I saw that the options with chicken were ONLY halal. I thought it was a mistake but when I asked one of the staff members, she confirmed that the chicken they have it’s halal and they don’t have non halal. I am truly surprised that a company like Salsa Shop does not care about animal welfare at all. I am not Muslim so I don’t need to eat halal chicken, you should give the choice to your customers. For this reason I will never come back. I hope my review will be taken seriously.

The vegetarian tacos are very good

Half of the order systems were not working - so we had to order in person. The tacos were great, its usual that they fall apart but everything was fresh and tasty :) i ESPECIALLY LOVE the Jarritos!!! Its like PINEAPPLE flavoured SPRITE!

I ordered a small burrito which got way too filled with toppings, so much so that I saw the guy who made it spill out a lot of toppings on the foil while wrapping the burrito, and he didn't even bother getting a new foil. Just wrapped it, creating an unnecessarily messy eating experience. He didn't say anything, or smiled, or even looked at me while giving me the burrito as part of customer service (it wasn't even busy). And to top it off, the red onion that was cut for the mixed vegetables was not properly peeled so I ended up encountering a bunch of hard, dry, thin, (also) burnt onions. The whole experience became so unappetizing that I stopped eating my burrito halfway and threw it away. Not worth the money and I am not coming back again.

I've been coming to Salsha Shop regularly for years, either to eat in or takeout, and I've always been satisfied with the food and customer service. Until last Sunday, when I ordered food through Thuisbezorgd for the first time, it was a disaster. The food was tasteless; most of the chicken pieces were dry and burnt. I paid extra for chicken and guacamole, but there was hardly any of it left—very meager, not what I'm used to from Salsha Shop. The peach habanero sauce was also nowhere to be found; it was extremely tasteless. I called about it, but got a very rude, unfriendly English-speaking woman on the phone who hung up while I was still talking. I called back again, but no one answered. All in all, a huge disappointment.

Unfortunately, our meal at Salsa Shop Utrecht Hoog Catharijne was disappointing. The prices are quite high, but you get very little in return. The portions are very small. The quality of the food was mediocre, and it was served lukewarm. Not bad, but definitely not good enough for the price. The presentation and composition were also messy, making the food difficult to eat.

Today we ate at Salsa Shop Utrecht Hoog Catharijne, and it was unfortunately a huge disappointment. For two quesadillas (one beef, one chicken), one loaded nacho, and two drinks, we paid a total of €35, which is completely disproportionate to what you get. The quesadillas were extremely small—literally the size of a palm—and were eaten in two bites. The plate felt more like a joke than a meal, especially if you believe the photos on the payment terminal, which are absolutely not accurate. The loaded nachos were poorly prepared: everything was covered in a thick layer of sauce, so you have to dip your fingers in it before you can even grab a nacho. Cutlery wasn't provided. The taste itself was fine, but everything was a bit cold. The only small plus is that it's halal. The service was also terrible: no "enjoy your meal," the food was practically thrown on the table, and the staff seemed grumpy and disinterested. This isn't just a snapshot, either—we heard the same story from others in the area. I've eaten at many different places, and I'm really not picky, but this was truly terrible. You walk out feeling ripped off. We won't be back.

€15 for 3 dirty wet, sparsely filled soft tacos completely soaked and if you say anything about it you will be looked at askance by 7 employees for the rest of your visit, do not come here
