Had a great workshop (Barista Masterclass). Very informative about the history of coffee. Tasting and comparing different coffees was especially interesting. I now know which coffee to buy and which to avoid. The group was perhaps a bit large (13), so it ran a bit late. Not a problem for me, but with 6-8 people, it would fit perfectly in those 2 to 2.5 hours, I think.

The moment you walk in, it feels like you've accidentally stumbled into an Apple Store... sleek, white, and minimalist. Not exactly a place I'd linger for hours, but what a coffee! Seriously, this is the best coffee I've tasted in a long time. Every sip is so precisely balanced that you almost expect a barista in a lab coat to be behind the counter. In short, the interior says "silicon valley," but the taste says "coffee heaven" :)

Had a fantastic workshop with ten colleagues. You can really tell Sam is passionate about his craft and really knows a lot about coffee! I learned so much more than I anticipated. The only thing I still need to practice is creating the beautiful shapes (even though Sam makes it look so easy). Thanks for the great atmosphere and the delicious coffee!

We had delicious matchas, my personal favorite: strawberry matcha. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming, always happy to chat. The carrot cake and stroopwafel cake are highly recommended! Definitely worth a visit.

The place for a fantastic espresso! Finally found a place where they understand the language of coffee/espresso! A whole new world opens up for you, not just one type of espresso... but many origins and therefore many flavors possible. The doppio Italian, just like you can drink it in Italy, but closer to home. The Kenyan is in a class of its own and a true experience for the connoisseur! Just like a fine wine, this coffee is like a symphony or a bouquet of flowers that each reveals a different facet in both aroma and flavor, and the long finish offers many layers of aroma and flavor. In short, a place I'd gladly get off the train and walk about 20 minutes for. I'll definitely be back because I'm very curious about all the coffees I haven't tried yet. Furthermore, it has a chill, calm, earthy vibe and friendly service. :)

If you've just finished shopping and want to take a break, or just sit quietly inside or outside with a cup of coffee, this is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is great. The baristas are well-trained. And the staff comes by to check on you. The beans are of good quality. All in all, definitely recommended for coffee lovers who prefer real coffee over sugary drinks.

I was walking in Groningen, where I'm definitely not from, and my eye caught the exit sign of Sam's Coffee. Coincidentally, I recently took a barista course with Sam! It was in a shoe store, a bit odd, I thought. But it turned out to be a really nice place. A really nice woman behind the coffee machine, and of course, the coffee was delicious :)<3

The atmosphere is straight from Nate Berkus his beige repertoire. It might say the Matcha is ‘ceremonial grade’ but that term isn’t protected and anyone can use it for any type of Matcha. If you want some contact with friendly staff or feel like you belong in this machine driven world, skip this one.

By far the best coffee in Zwolle, and the pastries are excellent too. It's great that you can choose from a variety of beans; my favorite is the Italian Roast. The pastries are from Holtkamp, a great pastry chef. I secretly hope Sam's will start baking their own cakes :-).

Delicious Cortado and a lovely pastry. The doppio was a bit too hot, and the crema was falling apart. The design feels a bit cold. Spacious setup. You can easily chat without the neighbors hearing you. It's a shame the staff couldn't tell you much about the coffee. The Guatemala is highly recommended. 19/7 update: We went to Sam's again today. We were approached by the owner. We had a wonderful conversation and enjoyed a delicious Guatemala, just the way it should be.

As an avid coffee lover, I attended Sam's Barista workshop. Besides the enormous passion he exudes, I had a fantastic workshop experience. While the main points of what we were going to learn were covered, there was also plenty of room for deeper questions, making it interactive. Starting with tasting two espressos, each different in flavor, was a huge surprise. I gained a lot of inspiration and am now much closer to my goal of learning to make the perfect espresso for home and my visitors! Excellent coffee. They have a choice of three different beans. Don’t order at the counter, but use the QRcode. This goes with their clean modern interior. So it fits. Very friendly staff. Seating in and outside. A good place to wind down or get some work done. They do coffee tea and a limited variety of pastries. So they’ve got focus!!

Followed a Barista workshop with Sam this morning! After an extensive explanation about types of beans + roasting process, the tasting began. How do you make a good cup of coffee? Well that wasn't that easy. How are the beans ground? What is the processing time, etc. Even the humidity affects the quality of your coffee! Then practiced extensively with latte art 🎨 also more difficult than expected. Sam is very passionate, which you immediately notice during the course. He talks passionately about the entire process from a bean on the tree to a delicious cup of coffee. Sam, we really enjoyed your enthusiasm and skills. And don't forget your delicious coffees. Thank you! And we will also avoid the coffee aisle in the supermarket from now on.

Nice drinks, but the staff gave us wrong drinks twice and asked "oh can you just drink these" instead of bringing the right ones instantly. Would not recommend this location, but the Groningen one is very gezellig.

Ordered iced coffee and red velvet cake. Never had such delicious coffee and red velvet. The red velvet melts in your mouth, not dry at all!!! Delicious!!

i have been following sam's coffee on instagram for quite some time.. this made me curious how it really tasted because it looked very tasty and he does his work with passion. we come from twente and it is then more than an hour's drive.. our first visit was definitely worth it addictively tasty! the employees very respectful and friendly... recently our second time to sam's and now the owner was also there who had a chat with us.. what a friendly man! it has become our regular coffee shop even though it is far away🤗

I am very disappointed with my experience at this business. The boss was extremely unfriendly and behaved very rudely. Customer friendliness does not seem to be important here at all. I did not feel welcome and will not return here again.

This afternoon I stood at the door of Sam's Coffiebar, half an hour before closing time as stated on Google. To my surprise, I was denied entry. According to Sam, they still had to do everything inside, such as cleaning up, and it was too busy inside, while I could clearly see that the place was half empty. When I asked why this is not clearly communicated via the opening hours on Google, Sam indicated that it is "too much effort" to adjust that. He would have to call someone for that and that is a lot of effort. He then referred me to a matcha place next door, without knowing what I even wanted to order. Why that assumption? And apart from that, it's about professionalism. If you run a catering business, you should be transparent towards your customers. If you no longer allow new visitors at 4:30 PM, please indicate this clearly. This way you prevent disappointments, especially for customers who come from far away with a specific image or expectation of your business.

The V60 is close to our coffee shops and is worth a try

I entered thinking it was an Apple Store, ended up drinking a very good coffee. Joke aside, the Cappuccino and Flat White I ordered were made to perfection. The service was very good despite the long waiting time due to the reduced number of staff. Perfect place to enjoy a good book or get some work done as well.

Sam's Specialty Coffee is highly recommended! I tried the mango matcha and strawberry matcha there, both super tasty and perfectly balanced in taste. You can really taste that they work with good quality ingredients. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. In addition, the pastries here are definitely worth a try!

Big cafe to relax or even can be working space. We went there with 4 people, got big table for us. Shared 3 cakes, lime cheesecake, red velvet and Dubai bar. I like Dubai bar the most. For drink I ordered iced strawberry matcha , taste good.

Had a great experience, the person I assumed was the owner was very nice and very enthusiastic about the quality of the matcha. You could taste that in the product. I have tried matcha at other places and this was by far the best. Very nice place to have a coffee and to try matcha if you haven’t had it before. I also love the attention that was put into the presentation and stempelkaart.
