Excellent restaurant, with amazing people

Nice and cozy, delicious Mexican atmosphere. What's also important is that it's clean; I really felt comfortable. The owners are also very friendly. If I have to work in the area again, I'll eat here again.

I came here because of the great reviews, and I can confirm: they are absolutely true. Honestly, I don’t understand why some people leave 1-star reviews. Santa Maria is not a fastfood restaurant, so people shouldn’t expect it to be one. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the hostess, which instantly made me feel at home. I then enjoyed a delicious, freshly made cocktail, followed by pasta and a salad. The mozzarella was wonderfully fresh, the tomatoes tasted just like in Italy, and the pasta was so good I could easily eat five portions of it. The servings are generous, and the price quality ratio is more than perfect. The dessert was equally delightful. From start to finish, I felt welcomed and cared for. For me, this experience deserves not five, but ten stars. Santa Maria is a beautiful family-run business where they cook with the same love and attention as if it were for themselves. We ate wonderfully: the pizza was just like in Italy, the steak was delicious, and the flavor experience was truly outstanding. The value for money was also excellent.

The onion soup tasted like nothing. I thought I'd ordered grilled squid, but instead I received battered, fried, defrosted, sweetish rings... we couldn't understand each other: neither English nor Italian. The wait was long. The bill was too high for the quality.

The pizza was too dry for me. It was very crispy, but it was missing some tomato sauce. The service was okay, but not particularly attentive. Okay for a pizza, but nothing more.

I chose the spare ribs as a starter. These were a bit burnt, but I was able to cut this off. The menu stated that it also included salad, but this only consisted of about 10 carrot grates. Then came the pizza. Personally, I thought there was too much/too thick a layer of cheese on the pizza. I tasted little tomato sauce. (Proportion not quite top unfortunately, not what I am used to from Italy) that is why I removed/cut some of the cheese. Otherwise fine, the base (dough) was very good. The amount of toppings was also good. The prices (especially for the pizzas) are very good, especially for the Netherlands in 2025. These were not too bad. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. I can't say much about this, just delicious! Another minus: both the physical menu and TheFork state that you get a student discount upon presentation of a student card, but in the end this turned out to be untrue. Please take it off the menu... To end it on a positive note: the large number of dishes you can choose from and that you can choose from two sizes of drinks, and also that they are open until late at night (for the students among us), all this is very pleasant.

The restaurant is rather small, but very tastefully decorated – cozy, inviting, and with attention to detail. The atmosphere is relaxed, allowing for easy conversation without it being too loud. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and quick – you can tell that service is a top priority here. We hardly had to wait, and everything was freshly prepared. I had a pizza, my wife bruschetta – both visually appealing, very tasty, and in generous portions. The ingredients seemed fresh and high-quality, and the taste convinced us. The value for money was also absolutely perfect. A real insider tip for us: small but perfectly formed – and definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back!

I would never eat here again, even if the food was free. The staff was fighting in the kitchen, we waited around 1h for our food and the result was not even good. The pepperoni in the pizza felt cheap, as well as the other ingredients. The drinks were for sure watered down (cocacolas). It even felt dirty. I’d never recommend this to anyone. If you want fast and cheap pizza, order domino’s or New York pizza.

I have never experienced such a beautiful combination of Italian and Argentinian cuisine. Today, we were with a lovely group everyone was happy, the food was great, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The hostess was incredibly friendly. This place truly deserves a Michelin star. We started with crispy bruschetta and freshly baked focaccia, followed by a divine pasta that will leave you speechless. Perfectly al dente, rich in flavor, and made with love. I visited Santa Maria with three classmates from abroad one evening, as we were looking for a good place nearby to grab a pizza and some bevearge. Santa Maria happened to be the closest to our Hotel and we chose to order from this local. Pizza was delicious, and what has truly stood out to me was the welcoming atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. Employee treated us with really great hospitality, was warm, approachable, open to talk and even offered me a fitting drink at a very fair price. Really appreciate being welcomed not just as a guest, so by a friend. I personally reccommended this local to one of our classmates, who visited the same loacal day after, who also told that it was delicious. If you want to get friendly approach with good food and bevearge - it's definitely what are you searching for!

This place has plaques and awards in the window, which I find is usually bragadocious and inaccurate, but it is 100% accurate and deserved here. Easily the best pizza I have ever had.

We had a lovely experience here. I ordered a steak, and my wife got the gnocchi. We were pleased with our cocktails and our meal.

The steak was delicious. We were even surprised at the end of the dinner with a nice birthday gift.

Great place for takeout. The staff is extremely friendly. I came with a friend to get takeout, and because it took a while due to the crowds, we both got two beers on the house. The food is fine, but not great.

We've tried quite a few pizzas in our area, but this one is the best so far. And thankfully, finally a regular Italian crust. Delivery is also quite fast.

Everything was great, except for the fact that they don't give you water for free. In Italy, every restaurant gives you water. In fact, they have it on the table before you sit down. And I must say, the food is delicious! The salmon lasagna is highly recommended!

What great people. We needed 30 pizzas of different types. Just call and within 45 minutes we had 30 pizzas. Super friendly and the pizzas are super big for the price. So the price, size ratio is very good. The pizzas also tasted very good. The base was deliciously crispy, cheese was tasty salami too. They also have good chicken. So for large orders Santa Maria is the best choice do not look elsewhere but Santa Maria. Top service fast delivery and nice people. Definitely recommended!! The best in Amstelveen!!!!

We from KLM also have to eat. So we went to Santa Maria to pick up. We took a total of 15 pizzas yesterday. Was super tasty. Really the best of the best pizzeria in Amstelveen. For people who are looking for tasty pizzas this is the place. Definitely recommended!! Come and taste it yourself.

The pizza is very good. I didn’t like de albondigas soup though… the flavor lacked depth and wholesomeness in my mind. Atmosphere, staff and everything is so cozy and nice. I will definitely go again for the pizza.

Today we had dinner with our big family at Santa Maria. We were welcomed well upon entering. It feels like you are at home. Service is really super nice. Furthermore, the pizza, this is the best pizza we have ever eaten, even in Rome they cannot make better. I understand the prices now. Also the steak, we were allowed to see how the steak was freshly made. It tasted delicious. It is a real old family business and I like that. From entering until we left, they were super nice, my family felt at home. Really recommended!

This restaurant was just a couple of blocks from our hotel, and it alone makes me wish we were staying here longer. We went on a Monday evening and it was pretty empty, so we did not have to wait for a table. The waitress was wonderful, and the atmosphere was great. All three of us absolutely loved our meals, I had the best plate of gnocchi I have ever had.
