Best Mexican restaurant in the Netherlands. It's a bit pricey but I do not miss it every time I come to Amsterdam. For those reading please try the cactus . It's soo good. The nacho chips and salsa is home made and super delicious 😋

As a Texan in Amsterdam this legit tastes like home. Hubby and I got the chicken mole tacos, the carne asada tacos, and the guacamole. Let me tell you, they did not skimp on the filling and it had the legit feeling of a taqueria down to the Jarritos drinks. Seriously nice staff as well!

A little disappointed by this place. I was so excited to try Mexican food but the nachos were extremely disappointing.. the tacos were great! But it was so crowded that we were uncomfortable and had people bumping into us at all times while we were eating. Unfortunately will not go back…

Tasty Quesadilla and good service

Seriously the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten! And i have been to several areas of Mexico. And frequent the Rick Bayless Chicago restaurants. What’s unique about Senor Mostachio is the complex layering of flavors without the heat. Friendly staff, very clean environment and reasonably priced Highly recommend

The food was legit but improvement is needed. What was indeed surprising was the kindness of the staff and the super fast service. However, the guacamole was not good, and had some type of oil which didn’t leave the best aftertaste - Also the texture was not great. The nachos/tortillas were good but the cheeses not of the best quality. The burrito was ok. For the quesadillas issued the same.

Quite literally the worst dining experience of my life! Being insulted and screamed at on my bday was an actual INSANE experience to have. If you can’t handle large groups, don’t ACCEPT those reservations, nobody forces you to do it!!! Also, it’s not the guests fault that your POS software (suspiciously) can’t handle people paying for what they ate. However, the cherry on top was that Señor Mostachio literally lies about their prices on TheFork. We payed 25%-30% more than what was expected! Wishing you the worst luck in business!

Don’t come to this place, the prices that they have in the menu are not correct. Check the ticket before paying because they will put more dishes that we didn’t order and expensier than the menu.

Señor Mostachio in Amsterdam is a great place for tasty Mexican food and friendly service. The Nachos Mostachios are a delicious mix of flavors, and the Chicken Enchiladas Rojas are rich and tasty. First time visiting a Mexican restaurant. Quite a cozy place. The portion of food is large. One burrito was enough for one adult to be full. Nice and sociable staff. I will definitely visit this place again, because there is so much left that I have not tried yet

Such a good place! Delicious food and cocktails. Huge portions, which you can't find anywhere in Amsterdam these days. Perfect place for a girls/boys night out or a date with you loved ones. Highly recommend.

Although I have never visited Mexico, I truly felt the vibrant tastes of it through the intense flavours of the Burrito de Birria. Lovely atmosphere.

I've eaten here a couple of times and I was always greeted nicely by the main waiter (pony tail). I always order a wet burrito with mushrooms, which is 10/10 and I highly recommend it. However, last time I went with friends that were visiting Amsterdam and I decided to order something different. In the Main dishes, there was an option for Three Taquitos. I was super hungry, so I asked the waiter ( a guy that I havent seen last times I went) if the portion would be the same as their regular burritos. He said that the overall portion would be the same. I asked one more time to confirm, and I told him in case it is maybe smaller than the wet burrito, I would like to order something else. He assured me that the portion would be the same as the wet burrito. Soon, our food arrives and my plate looks like a portion of a starter, or a quick bite. I ate it in 2 mins and was forced to beg my friend to give me a piece of her normally sized burrito in order not to leave starving. I love this restaurant and its atmosphere, but I felt really tricked, especially since I paid 15€ +for what was supposed to be my lunch.

We arrived quite late in Amsterdam (after 10pm) and were looking for a place still open to have a quick dinner. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly. We were clearly the last customers but they made us super comfortable and we really appreciated this moment with them!

Check the prices of everything before ordering. Guys here will be happy to bring you the most expensive glass, without warning you about the price. Count everything before paying because they make a lot of mistakes in their favour.

Fun little restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and fast service. Loved the interior and music. Only complaint was portion sizes were small for the price. See picture for size of 8€ guacamole. But the food was very good (including tacos carne asada and enchiladas) and hot sauce (yellow) was very very hot! LOL

Place is small and not fan or AC available (summer time) food isn’t good as expected. My husband ordered a mexican Fajita-carne asada dish and the meat was raw., also the frijoles with “melted cheese” come one … it was just any fresco or panela cheese, but not melted. We’ve eaten mexican food in other countries and had good experience. Sorry.

I really recommend this restaurant!! Staff was welcoming, and the food was insanely good. It was not as spicy as I thought, but we really really had a blast while dining in this restaurant. You won't be disappointed

Enjoyed the food and it’s a nice looking location. Shame that the server put huge amount of pressure on us to tip, stating 3-4 times in quick succession that tipping is the culture here.

The food was really good and had a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The enchiladas verdes with mushrooms was really good especially the sauce was very flavourful We loved the place and would recommend to reserve first since the place gets crowded soon.

We were charged €23 more than we should have paid. Unfortunately, we noticed it after we arrived at the hotel. Tourists, be careful about what you are being charged for, especially if you're not used to euros. The food was very good, as was the atmosphere. It's a pity about the extra drinks we didn't have…

This really is a great place to eat! My boyfriend and I come here regularly and we are always well looked after. The food is delicious and the service is top notch. The owner is friendly and the staff always does their best. The cocktails are fantastic too! Especially the Mezcal Margarita Spicy. Good choices include the nachos with chicken and the fish tacos. Moreover, there is a good atmosphere inside with beautiful colors and you can enjoy the sun on the terrace. Highly recommended!

The food is far from authentic Mexican food we have eaten in Mexico or the US. For the drinks, we expected chelada to be just beer, lime and sault but it contained some sort of tomato sauce as if it was michelada

These tacos tasted salty and made us sick. The tacos in general fall apart quite easily and some can be very salty/smushy. My boyfriend and I had later stomach issues during the night and the following day🤢If they would maybe provide less options but more quality it would be better! There are other Mexican places in Amsterdam with better quality and less pricey so it needs to be adjusted! And please make sure to use fresh ingredients only or adjust the sauces since they made us sick!🤢 disappointing :( :( I can’t believe there are good reviews about this place

Don't go here if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. The mole was very disappointing. Guacamole is a watery avocado puree. Everything has too much onion. Service was good though.

Looking at the comments, I think luck wasn’t with us. But it was truly one of the worst meal I've ever had in my life. The avocado sauce had a spoiled taste. The sauce they used for burritos had no taste and was not salty. I'm sorry, but our stomachs got worse afterwards. But despite this the staff were very nice, I hope they take notice.

Great little place for some beer and homemade tacos. I went there 2 evenings in a row on a work trip to Amsterdam, and had fish tacos and chicken Cancun. Both were great, refreshing and filling. The spicy mango sauce is great to get on the side, and the corn tortillas are lovely, too. Perfect for relaxing after a stressful workday.

We visited this restaurant a week ago and I find it okayy. We ate beef tacos and chicken quesadillas, drank Mexican beers. The tacos were too greasy however the amount of beef on top of the tacos was great. One notable downside was the close proximity of the tables, which affected our overall dining experience. In addition I found the service a bit slow…I enjoyed eating the quesadillas. Overall I like the ambiance, the drinks and certain dishes. However i think it is a bit pricey for the experience you have. With some improvements in service speed and spacing between tables, it has the potential to be an even more enjoyable dining spot.

Long story short. Don’t stay here to late. It was my second visit with friends. Drinks only. Some super annoying old drunk local man just wouldn’t stop chatting to us. He was rude, obnoxious, drunk and couldn’t get the hint he wasn’t welcome. I asked the bar man who the drunk local was? And was told it was the actual owner of the place! He was super unprofessional if he thinks it’s ok to harass customers while drunk! What a joke! The lead bar man did a great job hosting us, just a shame the owner ruined the evening for us, or perhaps the staff should of suggested the owner to leave. Any way. That’s the last time I go there, absolutely will not invest my time or money to people like that! If you want great drinks and tacos, then go to Mr Haz

I’ve been exploring Amsterdam’s Mexican offerings for two years now and I haven’t found a spot better than this one. Lovely staff, DIVINE homemade hot sauce (drooling just thinking about it), incredible spicy margaritas, and genuinely delicious tacos, wet burritos, and nachos — not just “for the Netherlands.” I do wish it was possible to mix taco varieties when ordering those, since they have such an impressive menu of options. But that’s honestly my only note.

Ordered via Uber. First time and last time we ordered from this place. The 3 tacos weighed a little more than 300gr for €15. Unevenly filled, extremely salty and mushy pulled chicken. Not appetizing at all, nothing like Tex-mex as you eat it in the US. Burrito wasn’t much better; filled with mostly rice, same salty and mushy pulled chicken.

I'm from the US, I eat Mexican food several times each week. This is damn good Mexican food. The carnitas is fantastic, as is their hab sauce.

The Nachos were great and the house hot sauce was amazing (but hot!). The mains were also really good but some more side sauce for the burrito would have been good. The service was fantastic and we are definitely coming back.

Very nice little Restaurant. The food was delicious and had a good price. Had the Guacamole, fried Beans and 2 Different Tacos, everything was really fresh and well balanced. The only point which I don’t like are the chairs, maybe a pillow can help.
