Fantastic find in Amsterdam! Never tried food from Suriname before - glad I did! Fresh fast and delicious

We did take away for lumpia and biryani, the lumpia were really nice but the biriyani I was not really a fan, it was ok but it could be better

Today I ordered the roti chicken, it was really great! The chicken was tender, perfectly seasoned. It tasted fantastic! You can taste that it is freshly prepared. In addition, the delivery time was super fast! I will definitely order here more often! I recommend it to everyone who loves tasty and good food!!!!

Takeaway food store that allows you to eat inside. Very simple and delicious food. Perfect to eat something and continue the route through Amsterdam. They don't expect much, although I would recommend it.

Great buffet focused on takeaway. But you can also sit down and enjoy a nice meal. Great selection and five star service. There are also several seats where you can quickly eat your meal. Some more seating and bathroom would be great.

Veggie options, and it is worth it Really good food

Great Surinamese canteen. First introduction of myself and everyone with me to Surinamese cuisine. Quite a small place the woman serving was friendly and when we walked in looking a bit bewildered at the options she directed us to choose one carb and 4 veg dishes (or 3veg and 1 meat dish for the others with me). The serving was huge and tasted delicious and was a really good intro to the cuisine. They had other menu options if you are a bit more aware of the cusuine but the big plates we got were great and really good value so ide recommend to anyone but other fellow vegans especially. Seating options are limited but we managed to grab the bar seats they have and you could easily take it to go sit on the canal a few metres away. We also went to one of the restaurants that comes up if you type in best Surinamese food amsterdam but this was far better.

Such a treat to find this kind of wonderful food in Amsterdam. Excellent quality, nice size portions, fare prices, huge variety. Owner were really kind & honest.

Great sandwiches, quality food, friendly staff

Very balanced meals. Not too expensive, well made, well seasoned, fast service, boneless curry options were great. MVP was the potato curry. The noodles were exactly my favourite type. Happy that there is lamb as an option. The curry bread was pretty good, meaning fluffy and not too strong in flavour. Overall nothing to complain about.

Like a take away place. Choose rice/noodles, 3 veggies and 1 meat. Okay options, but food is perfect. Had sweet chicken and ate at a table outside. Brilliant food and good price

Shehrin Khan and Zarina Mohammod's food was so delicious. It really reminded me of being back home in Georgetown Guyana. Highly recommended to all visiting Amsterdam.

Simz is the very best place in all of Amsterdam to get Surinamese food. The Thai chicken and the pom are especially recommended, but everything they make there is fantastic. And the service is also fantastic

Shrimp sandwich super tasty and the roti roll well filled with lots of chicken Bami and nasi are also super tasty and you get a full bowl. If you want to eat delicious Surinamese food in Amsterdam, Simz Food is definitely recommended

Bestie van Amsterdam I tried first tym food at simz, it was soo yummy, Indian food is also available here as will as delivered by honor,at exactly time, Personal recomendation mango Lassi , chicken curry,chicken Tikka. When I think about chicken Tikka,my mouth starts watering 😋 😋 My suggestion to all you also try here......

We had a great lunch, the overall plate was very tasty and their marinated tempeh was delicious. The staff were nice and available when we asked for information.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the place itself isn't the most beautiful, in fact... I went in "on the back foot" for exactly that reason, however, what a good surprise! I loved the food, delicious! Well served, very well served, in fact, and very affordable.

Outstanding authentic food at a low key spot. You’d walk right by this tiny spot if you weren’t coming here. It’s a deli style system with a spots you sit. Don’t be put off. Great food and ample portions. All very reasonably priced. They’re quite friendly and speak excellent English. Worth seeking out.

Maybe I just don’t like Surinamese food but this felt somewhat tasteless and expensive. Got the rice with one meat and three veg. Rice itself was excellent. Meat was fine, nothing special, vegetables were tasteless. Everything was under-seasoned. They do take debit cards which is great as there seem to be no bank branches in the northern Jordaan. Also the whole area is quite dark and crowded at night. Though not unsafe, I didn’t find walking around particularly pleasant.

My 7 year old son and I loved our meals. Personally I took a rice base with spicy chicken and for the 3 accompaniments: eggplant, potatoes and tempeh. It was really delicious!

Suriname food is a very interesting blend of Chinese, Indian, and Indonesian cooking. Short of going to Suriname, this is the best place to try it.

Great food! Never had surinamese food before and loved it. We trier the Saoto soup which is a type of chicken soup. Highly recommend!

Was recommended this place by our host on our first trip to Amsterdam. Was glad we were finally able to try it out last night in town as we were getting back from a tour and they were still open. First time trying Surinamese food and the dhalpuri roti was perfect. I also loved seeing Chubby drinks and the pepper sauce that reminds me of home in the Caribbean. The owners are super friendly and helpful too.

We ate here not once but TWICE on a 4 day stint in Amsterdam. The food was so delicious and we were able to sit outside and people watch. The price is so reasonable, I miss it!

We stumbled upon this place while standing in a long line at nearby Pancake House. Highly rated and we felt like eating something more spicy than pancakes. Good decision. Aunty at the shop spoke decent Punjabi and Hindi and explained the menu. We ordered two plates with noddles and rice. Everything tasted very well and our family was satisfied.

A lot of different options, staff was very friendly and able to explain everything in very good English. Food was amazing.

Lekkere roti (zowel de vegetarische met tempeh als de roti beef). Een roti rol was wel bijna even duur als een roti maaltijd. Bij een roti rol krijg je een gevulde roti plaat in aluminiumfolie en als je roti bestelt, krijg je een bakje gevuld met de aardappels, boontjes etc. met een losse plaat erbij en deze portie is veel groter. Ik vond het wel een beetje duur voor een afhaalmaaltijd, maar gezien de toplocatie in het centrum van Amsterdam, vond ik het waar voor mijn geld en een smakelijke, voedzame maaltijd.
