Delicious food for ridiculously little money. It is run by a very friendly people.

Love this place, so cozy and homey! The owner is this polite, soft spoken man and very welcoming. The food is so comforting and portions are large. I go here a few times a month when I don’t feel like cooking, everything is so good and great value.

Extremely tasty and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Amsterdam looking for a quiet spot for lunch. I was blown away by the food, such a beautiful mix of flavours.

Delicious food! Saoto soup is very well filled. According to my boyfriend the tastiest Tjauw min, exactly how he likes it. Telo bakkeljauw is also recommended, nice and crispy and soft on the inside. You will be helped very friendly here, see you soon again!

We took: Chicken and pork moksi and chicken and pork fried noodles. It was simply excellent. A real treat in a simple setting and affordable prices

My favourite Suriname restaurant in Amsterdam. Unmatched quality, flavour and BIG portions! Owner is so friendly and sweet! I always recommend this place to all my friends and family. (My boyfriend is Surinamese so you know this place is the real thing!) Edit: I ordered this food for my wedding and it was delicious!!! Everyone loved it and all my guests were asking where we got the food from.

Arranged catering for my wedding party here, and many guests complimented the food. They thought it was the best Surinamese food they had ever had. It was delicious. The owner is such a sweet man, he also included extra food and a surprise. Top restaurant!

Best Surinamese in Amsterdam! Homemade pepper sauce and spicy sauce for the soup is a must. Very affordable and the family that runs it is very friendly. Make sure to visit!

Great ambiance, very friendly service and delicious food! The portions are huge and the prices very affordable. It seems to be a family business, the owner is a bit shy but once you start a conversation with him he is super genuine. I would give six stars if I could.

We came late before closing but the owner was so nice and still served us. We tried the chicken satés, fried rice with chicken and the baked banana with peanut sauce and it was soooo good! A cute little family run restaurant that we will definitely visit again.

Mijn favoriete eettentje waar ik al ruim 10 jaar zo’n beetje wekelijks kom met mijn zoon en zo nu en dan met mijn dochter of vrienden. Iwan altijd heel relaxt & supervriendelijk. Kim in de keuken die zorgt voor het eten en dat is altijd vers bereid en heerlijk van smaak. De beste vegetarische roti, de nasi, bami, mihoen, bruine bonen, pom, telo bakkeljouw en saoto soep onze favorieten👍🏽 Ook altijd genoeg en meestal nog over voor de vlg dag. Maar nu niet allemaal tegelijk komen hoor, want zit graag aan mijn favoriete tafeltje bij het raam. Wel heel jammer dat de grote loempia’s niet meer op de kaart staan. Het enige minpuntje 😉

Het ziet er aan de buitenkant niet echt uit, een beetje vervallen, maar het menu is zeker het aanraden waard , het heeft een goede keuken.

Grote, heerlijke porties. Kan je het niet op? Neem je de restjes mee naar naar huis.

Wauw, top eten en echt authentiek. Super lieve meneer ook. Had hier nog nooit gegeten en heb oprecht genoten. Het eten is vers, goed van smaak en het geld meer dan waard. Ik had de Nasi gori di korsou galina bestelt, was echt top! Masha danki!

Randomly picked the spot for dinner as it looked very traditional and it was a great success. Best chicken soup I had in ages! Spicy asian dishes in large portions and even good fries. If you're looking for a good hearty meal this is just for you.

By far 1 van de betere Surinaamse (afhaal) restaurants van de pijp.. eten altijd goed op smaak en kwalitatief erg goed.. (hete) ketjap saté is een aanrader:)

Lieve mensen en ze maken heerlijke roti

Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante in base alle recensioni. Non posso giudicare molto la cucina surinamese perché non la conosco affatto ma abbiamo mangiato un’ottima banana fritta, un gustoso riso fritto con il pollo ed un roti (una specie di pane piadina morbito) con una sorta di minestrone con verdure patate e tante spezie. Il locale poi è molto particolare ed il proprietario veramente gentile. Consigliato.

Heerlijk surinaams eten vooral de tjauwmin is erg goed! Wij komen hier al meer dan 10 jaar. En de eigenaar is zo een lieverd!

Jammer dat de grote loempia niet meer te verkrijgen is, gelukkig blijft er genoeg over. Moksi meti is perfect hier.

Je suis français et chaque fois que je viens à Amsterdam je suis obliger de venir ici c’est tellement bon la première fois on est venu à 2 puis on est revenu à 10 et tout le monde s’est régaler c’est vraiment délicieux et le chef est vraiment trop gentil que cette établissement reste dans le temps car c’est le meilleur 🙏

Le plat proposé par le restaurateur était super bon. On retrouve le Suriname dans les spécialités proposées. Je recommande fortement, très agréable.

Wij komen hier al zeker 12 jaar. Het eten is lekker en de service top!! De kwaliteit is al die jaren constant gebleven. De prijs van het eten is al die jaren betaalbaar gebleven. Niet duur en zeker niet voor wat je krijgt. Aanraders: nasi met geroosterde kip, telo bakkeljauw en de sauto soep!!

Delicious food and friendly staff at reasonable prices

Not sure what I ate there, but for sure not carabian or Indonesian food. Maybe very adapted for local taste.

10/10 would recommend. The owner is soft spoken, but really nice and friendly. The chef cooks some amazing dishes, especially the vegetables, roti, tjauw min and nasi! This is definitely a hidden gem :)

Leuk knus plekje. Tot nu toe heb ik heerlijk gegeten. Aardige porties en de prijs is hiermee zeker in balans. De medewerkers zijn vriendelijk. De borden en bestek is netjes schoon. De maaltijden worden ook netjes en verzorgd geserveerd.

We bestellen al jaren bami/nasi kipsate en bami/nasi geroosterd kip bij deze topper. Héérlijk eten!
