Had some good times, actually the only place where you can still go out a bit in De Koog.

We found the food and service here so good that we went back to eat there the following evening. The food is of very high quality; my husband had the best ribeye ever here. They have a meat aging cabinet and talk about it with great passion. The man who spoke to us about it with such passion even showed us the ribeye before it went onto the (real) grill. My starter of smoked salmon and gravad lax was incredibly tasty, and although I supposedly ordered a small portion, it was quite a lot. And all that for just €10. I had the fried goat cheese as a main course; an incredibly flavorful and original dish! Furthermore, it is a very relaxed and cozy place to sit, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. We also received all kinds of good tips for fun things to see and do on Texel. Highly recommended!

Food was great, cocktails were a flop – that sums up our visit to Sjans. All the dishes were excellent: the entrecote with pepper sauce, the fish, and the kids' burgers. The crème brûlée for dessert was also good. The so-called mojito, on the other hand, was a complete disappointment (both the non-alcoholic version for the kids and the regular one with alcohol). It had nothing to do with a cocktail, but was at best a long drink – probably a ready-made mix from a can (see photo). How can a restaurant that offers such delicious food sell something like that as a mojito for €11? But for the food, the place is absolutely recommendable!

Wasnt very amused. I asked for a blue steak - got it medium. My 8 year old asked for medium got it raw. 15 min I was waiting till someone came over but thats very typical in Holland. You dont see the waitress checking the room, just busy with her own stuff. No interest at all. Had to go to the bar and finally order myself. Nothing wrong with that if i pay 30 for food... but I leave 80 and here I expect a bit more.

Sjans is a fantastic place. The service is incredibly friendly, the atmosphere is super cozy, and the food is first-class. We had the most delicious spare ribs and perfect steaks. The spare ribs fall right off the bone and are incredibly tender. We'll definitely be back. A must-visit if you're on Texel.

Service was very friendly, entrecôte was very good (came medium rare, without being asked, but that’s the way I prefer it anyway) - unfortunately it was sliced already, so it got cold relatively fast, but tasted very very good!

After returning from the beach, we went for a walk in the village street and arrived at restaurant Sjans. We were served very warmly by the waiter. Next, we enjoyed a delicious dry-aged steak. An absolute must-visit. Nice atmosphere and cool ambiance.

As a rest, we received a tip from a local in an adjacent café to go eat at Sjans. The tip turned out to be very reliable; we had a pleasant evening together, and the food was of good quality.

The food was good and the staff friendly. The portions were also good. I find that important.

We had a delicious meal; we had the 350-gram Dry-Aged Ribeye. Prepared exactly as we ordered it. We really thoroughly enjoyed this Ribeye. Highly recommended. When we are back on Texel, we will definitely go out for dinner here.

February 25th, 2026, we'll be back on Texel and having dinner at Sjans. We'll have a bread basket with spread as a starter, followed by pork satay and a hamburger. Simply fantastic. Delicious fries, baked potato with sour cream with the satay. Sjans is highly recommended.

What a surprise! A cozy, warm place. But the food was so incredibly good. One of the best tournedos I've ever had. Top-notch, top-notch. And a great price.

What a great restaurant! The food, atmosphere, and service are all excellent! I found my steak tartare a bit too salty, but it was cooked perfectly. As compensation, we got free desserts. What a fantastic place! Communication was great even when we made the reservation! "If possible, I'll make sure we have a spot by the fireplace" (without even asking). Well, that makes me and my group happy! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the person we'd spoken to on the phone: Robin. This man has truly found his calling; what a fantastic waiter! Great humor and fantastic service. His colleagues are also fantastic! All in all, a great place with delicious food; you really get your money's worth! If we come back here on vacation, we'll definitely be back! 10/10!

We were a group of two and ate at Sjans on the evening of November 2nd, 2025, and immediately reserved another table for November 5th. The steak was absolutely first-class.

Clean, friendly service, a table with room for our two large dogs, and the best spare ribs I've ever eaten. We'll definitely be back! 😀 We went back again at the end of our vacation. The server spoke good German and always had a witty remark ready. The food was just as good as the first time!! Keep up the good work. All the best! 😀

A very good restaurant, attentive and friendly service, and fantastic food. The spare ribs were incredibly tender, and everything else was excellent, too. Despite the rain, we sat comfortably outside by the patio heater and enjoyed it from start to finish. We'll definitely be back.

We ate here on March 26, 2025. As a starter, we had a bread basket with delicious spreads. Then we had onion soup, and for the main course, we had a schnitzel and a tournedos. The service was fast and extremely friendly. We thought the restaurant's decor was super cozy. The food was truly excellent! We highly recommend this restaurant.

I ate here a year ago. I had the spare ribs and found them so delicious that I asked the staff for the recipe. 5 minutes later the chef was at the table and I got the recipe. All the staff were very friendly and the ribs were good. Highly recommended.

I recently ate here with my partner, and it was truly delicious! I had the "lady" tournedos and my husband the sirloin steak. It was truly fantastic, along with the sautéed mushrooms and herb butter! A huge compliment to this restaurant!

If we had more stars available for the food, we could have given it even more stars in good conscience. We all enjoyed it. The only reason we deducted one star was because it was a bit too dark for some of us to eat.

Ordered coffee when after 5 minutes of waiting someone came outside where we were sitting. After 10 minutes still no coffee, so we left.

If you're looking for a good meal in a great atmosphere with friendly staff on Texel, this is the place for you.

We've eaten here several times and it's been quite good so far, but what the chef did this time was subpar. Five of us ate here. My wife and her friend ordered the Wiedergutmacher Schnitzel. One portion of schnitzel looked good, the other portion was burnt. After we pointed this out to the service, the chef came personally and was very unfriendly, although you could see that the breading was burnt, he said the schnitzels were always fried the same way and that couldn't be right. Only after a long discussion was he ready to fry new ones. The champions that were part of the meal were then burned. Since we didn't feel like having further discussions, we accepted it as it was. We won't be going there again.

I went out to eat here a few times with my parents and the atmosphere was good, the food was tasty and you can joke with the waiters and it doesn't take long before you get your food.

Very nice place with a cozy atmosphere. Despite the crowds, we were still able to go a little later in the evening without a reservation. We all chose steak dishes and these were well prepared. We came back the next evening and I chose the spareribs and they were really delicious. The best I've eaten in a long time. The staff is very friendly and professional.
