Skatecafe in Noordelijke IJ-oevers Oost

Not that great to be honest, the outdour facilities including football cage is fun, but it is just overpriced and service was alsno not that quick. Ordered a Ribeye for €28,50, but it didn't come with any sides whatsoever. Just a piece of meat with a litre of gravy and some flavorless chips. It tasted good, but for this price one should expect some fries or salad with it. The dessert was also nice but it was just an expensive McFlurry - €8,50 and it tasted exactly the same as a McFlurry

so fun!! they have loads of games outside (football, basketball, ping pong), a photobooth, and cute places to sit. inside I enjoyed how they had some different rooms with different DJs. inside the main room they also had a half pipe with a guy skateboard which was so cool, definitely recommend!

This used to be a really nice place, too bad the menu has become so fancy and decadent instead of the down to earth and affordable vibe it used to be.

Been here a few times and its a really good venue! The facility offers both indoor/outdoor event spaces, making it compatible for both day and night parties. Talking about the facilities, the stages are all very well ornamented and the sound is great. There us plenty of relaxing space and they also have a restaurant and make amazing pizzas! Definitely worth visiting!

We stumbled upon this place by chance, looking for somewhere to eat, as it was late and we had just arrived in the city. It wasn't lunchtime, but they did bring us some appetizers: bread with spiced butter and some delicious vegetable croquettes. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great—we loved it.

Unexpectedly fun nightlife spot. You can eat, drink, and watch performances there. Great.

Really great place to hang out overall. We made a reservation online, but later found out that the day we had chosen was “soup day,” so we had to change it. After that, we emailed them again to adjust our reservation, but didn’t receive a response for three days. Luckily, when we showed up despite not getting a reply, there were still plenty of empty seats, so everything worked out. I really enjoyed both the events (parties) and the restaurant itself. After 7 PM, the vibe is amazing. Perfect for Instagram if you’re into that, or simply for a nice date. The wine that was recommended to us was a solid 10/10. The food was good, but in my opinion, extremely overpriced. Overall, I would definitely go again, both for dinner and for the parties.

Really mixed experience but overall poor. We had high hopes for this place, having been recommended by a friend, but it just didn’t deliver. Would not recommend. Firstly, the location and venue is very cool. The front of house who seated us was very warm and welcoming. However, after being seated, we were effectively ignored for the rest of the night - after 20+ minutes we had to beckon someone to take our drinks order, and we then had to constantly get someone’s attention for the rest of the evening… there seemed to be lots of staff, all “looking busy” but no one really seemed to be responsible for any specific area of the restaurant. Our starters were good (ceviche, sausage) when they arrived but our mains were then forgotten, and after a further 20 minutes (again) having to get the attention of the server we then found out he had forgotten to update the system once he’d cleared our starters - no real apology or offer of anything. Once the mains turned up, the chicken (piri piri) was mediocre and strangely “wet”, and the fish made my partner feel sick instantly - I tried some and it tasted very off. By this time it had been nearly 2hrs so we paid the bill (again, no one was paying attention so we had to walk up to the bar to pay) and then left to get the ferry back. This place has such great potential, it’s just really missing the mark. Perhaps it was a bad night, but I would not recommend it to anyone. It was Valentine’s Day as well, but not busy, so just really disappointing overall.

What an aesthetic, really beautiful

It was just not good. The staff was very busy, especially with themselves and each other. The food took a long time, and dessert took at least 45 minutes. We eventually had to walk around to get a drink because I think the staff had forgotten our table. We were a group of 10 and were seated near the door to the courtyard. This door opened five times a minute, and with an outside temperature of -1°C, after a while half of our group was wearing coats because it was simply too cold. Not to mention that a constantly slamming door was incredibly annoying.

Great location! Appetizers delicious! Main course mediocre. Service: as a guest, you're lucky to be in this uber-hip restaurant. That feeling.

I've never left a review before, so this is my first. I've been here so many times, but the last two times I've been served by a blonde girl with a nose piercing, and she absolutely makes the evening. The food is fantastic too. Thank you so much, and it deserves my first review.

I went to Skatecafe for the first time with Too Many Zooz, and it was amazing! I've never seen such an epic place.

I was there for a concert - it's the coolest venue I've ever been to! The sound was good and the atmosphere in the skate cafe is unique and special.

It's strange that they empty your paid-for locker during the evening and dump your belongings in the lost and found. When you tell them you find this strange, to say the least, they don't understand. The atmosphere and music weren't great either.

The atmosphere is so unique — part restaurant, part skate spot, with a really fun and creative vibe. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious with great cocktails too. It felt like a true local gem rather than a touristy place. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re visiting Amsterdam and want something different and authentic! 🛹✨

Great place for a drink, food and to skate. Also suitabel to have fun with friends, kids, a party etc. Very informal , nice music, super friendly staff. Food is OK for the money, just good and tastefull. Also vegan options. Not suitable for a romantic quiet night. Cheap or free parking in front!

Get more restrooms. You can never have too many restrooms. Besides, your crowd is mediocre and the music weird, but I'll mess with it.

For 2025 it lacks more vegetarian options. The food we tried was alright but nothing which really stood out. Service is friendly but a bit slow and the waiter made a mistake and served us the wrong dish. Voicing this didnt receive the understanding I hoped for. Also the food wasnt served at the same time, while that was offered. The place itself is good and its location special, unfortunatly we didnt have the time to stick around for the party.

The location is really cool!! Haven’t tried the food but the club environment at night is great. Only downside is the soundsystem. It is just not loud enough. I get that the venue is difficult to master regarding sound acoustics but I thinks a much better job can be done.

Security were rude and unhelpful in finding lost keys, Sam in particular who requested my phone as access to the venue, despite already having a stamp.

Skatecafe in Amsterdam is a unique and vibrant place with a great atmosphere. The combination of good music, tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere makes it the ideal place to chill. Whether you come for the skate vibe or just for a fun night out, it is definitely worth a visit.

A completely crazy place with a skate track, a mini-oven playground, a barefoot art walk, a terrace in front of the kitchen, and even tables under a carousel roof further inside near the second bar with live music! The food was fabulous on the outdoor terrace. Plenty of vegetables, herbs, spices, and sauces for a tasty dinner. A small wine menu and drinks to go with it. It's often crowded.

Cool spot with tasty vegetarian options. The menu changes regularly, so I couldn't see anything online about the current offer, exciting because I'm not necessarily an easy eater. In the end I ate a dish that I might never have chosen but that was very tasty!

The sound could perhaps be worked on a bit... I was at a party, so perhaps on a normal day there would be more attention to the 'don't shout at each other to be able to hear each other' point... not that it would matter for adults, but for a 'developing child's ear' it would.

My friends and I unknowingly stood infront of a door which apparently is not allowed. In response, a security guard cornered my friend, shouting at him and putting his hands on his shoulders. We calmly explained that we did not know we couldn’t stand there and we were then subsequently taken outside of the club, my friends were then threatened, shouted at, and pushed by said security guard. Of course we then left. Please do better on this front, if it was clearly advertised that we could not stand there, then we wouldn’t have, but the unnecessary violent and angry approach was uncalled for.

The staff kept moving tables and chairs back and forth between the main rooms all evening. I felt gaslighted — and I loved it

Skatecafé in Amsterdam-Noord really surprised me with a unique mix of raw charm, creative energy and a relaxed atmosphere. I love how you can skate, eat and dance there without it feeling forced. The food was great and the music made it complete. LOL. I stayed much longer than planned. 🫣

Really enjoyed skate cafe, it’s two restaurants that turn into 3 club rooms at night towards 10 pm. Techno, house and other music is played depending on the night! I highly reccomend it, the bartenders are also very kind considering how full it can get!

5 stars - Coolest Spot in North Amsterdam Skatecafé Karin & Yvonne is such a cool hangout! The vibe is on point — great music, laid-back atmosphere, and an authentic underground modern feel. The staff were super friendly and just gave off that fun, welcoming energy. You can tell they enjoy being there, and that really adds to the experience. The skate ramp is a unique touch — perfect for snapping some epic photos and just chilling with friends. Food was tasty too, no complaints. Definitely recommend if you’re in the North and want to escape the busy city center for something a little more raw and real.

The skatepark is very nice and new. It is very spacious, and there is lots of space between obstacles. The music made the vibe amazing, too. The pizza came surprisingly fast. It was juicy and flavorful, but the crust wasn't the greatest. The worker there was very welcoming and friendly.

Skate cafe manages to walk the thin line between hippy, grunge-y, and strangely enough, elevated. Located in an old factory or commercial building, the walls are covered in graffiti, exposed steel beams are present, and bizarre decor, such as a small car hang from the roof. The dining room itself, has a floor of bare concrete but with elegantly set tables. And probably most distinctive of all, there’s a u-pipe for skaters, although it’s primarily used before dinner time. The bar, kitchen, u-pipe, and dining area are all in this same large room. You can watch your chef assemble your dish, your bartender mix your drink, and a skater do a drop down simultaneously. When you need to use the bathrooms, it’s clear that this location turns into a night club, with graffiti and stickers galore all over a very bare-bones bathroom. The food itself was delicious, I ordered the herb butter and bread, the octopus, and the redfish. Despite being a local’s spot (no English anywhere to be found) the waitstaff was more than accommodating and kind, even going as far as to find a sparkler to stick in a brownie for our friends birthday when we asked, even though this isn’t a tradition in the Netherlands. Only critiques would be the food being on the slightly pricier side, some cocktail glasses not matching the drinks which they contained, and our table having a bit of a wobble. But overall, a fantastic and unique experience, and would come back anytime I’m in Amsterdam again.

One of the best places I've been to party, super fun with three different scenes. The pleasant surprise was also linked to the football field in the middle of the outdoor area.

Unfortunately, the pizzas at the pizzeria at the Skatecafé (Dick & Dick) were not good. The dough was disgusting: soft and without taste, without salt, and the tomato sauce was not tasty either. There was little flavor to the margarita pizza. If the menu only consists of 4 pizzas and there seems to be a good oven, you would think that the pizzas are super good. Unfortunately that was not the case.

Wanted to play pinball at the Adams Family. He either did it badly or not The other pinball machine was boring. Did a reasonable job Both pinball machines were so dirty you could barely see the ball. The service was nice. Couldn't solve the problems either 😰

For events one of my favorite places to go for a normal night it’s a hit or a miss

We had a terrible experience here, despite having enjoyed it in the past. It wasn't that busy but the service was so slow - we had to ask for everything, including plates & cutlery. Every drinks order had things missing, and it took over an hour and a half for some bread to arrive... Main courses eventually arrived after 2.5 hours and they were all cold, and some of them were inedible (the ravioli was uncooked so it was still hard & cold in the middle, and one of the bavettes smelt off). One of the party has been quite unwell today, presumbly as a result of taking a bite of the aforementioned bavette. They would have happily charged us full-price for everything but after some negotiating they took a small amount off the bill. There was a half-hearted attempt at an apology but it was a nice way to ruin a birthday celebration!

We have 5 people. had dinner outside on the terrace on Friday evening. Service is chaotic, but super friendly and helpful. The food was really good. From starter to dessert; we enjoyed! The building and outside area look a bit messy and chaotic, but that fits.

The famous Skate cafe. After countless recommendations, testimonials and stories about this cafe, I finally decided to check it out. What better way to have your first experience than to watch the Euro's semifinal between our very own Dutch Lions and those English frauds? The vibe was amazing, lovely people all around. It was way bigger than I expected. Multiple rooms and areas to sit, drink and watch the game. Enough food and drink selections to cater to everyone's needs. Multiple spots to get cold beers so you didn't have to walk all over the place to be replenished. The staff was great as well, some lovely people behind the bar that will set you right. It's safe to say, despite the loss, that this place exceeded my expectations with remarkable ease. I don't give out 5 stars easily, but this hit every checkmark I was looking for and even more. Definitely go check this spot out if you want to have a good time with your friends!

Eat good. Completely overpriced without justification. Would never go here again. Portions (24€) extremely small and extremely expensive. One shot €5.50. However, service was good and the people were very friendly. Generally very disappointing.

Food was alright, but it arrived 2h late. After 2h wait and 30mn eating waiter tells us to move because they want to fold our table and make space? Very unimpressive service for half a k spent (500), not even a gesture to compensate. The looks on the waiter’s face when we asked for deserts however, priceless. Place looks cool and has good decor but will not be organising gatherings here again

Great experience, numerous à la carte choices, very welcoming and warm staff, there are many spaces to relax, several worlds, a skate ramp, a boxing gym, a city stadium and plenty of possibilities to relax and consume , the decor is crazy, the atmosphere too, frankly I recommend

Very good for eating and staying late, as it turns from a restaurant into a nightclub. Recommended....

We don't understand what happened here yesterday. After an hour and a half of waiting, we received a main course with the portion of an amuse bouche. My girlfriend also went outside to smoke while waiting and was suddenly no longer allowed in because the outside bouncer "didn't see her go outside". Service is total chaos, there is no overview, was there even a maître? Unfortunately we won't be back.
