Got some fries and they were fine. A bit of an outdated interior, but quite acceptable.

A really nice cafeteria. Just like being back in the 80s. Old-fashioned snack boards on the wall. The local football club AZ is definitely visible, as it should be. Old wooden tables and stools with red leather seats. Stools and a round display case. And old-fashioned, top-quality snacks and fries. If you're in Alkmaar, you have to eat here. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This idyllic eatery in Alkmaar is cult! New owners, but still the same great concept. Tasty greasy food with retro vibes. The definitive snack bar of Alkmaar, firmly at number 1.

Great food and super friendly service

Today, on the way back from Texel, we were ready for something to eat. There are a few McDonald's restaurants along the way, but I said to my wife, "Come on, let's stop at a snack bar in Alkmaar." We ended up at Snackbar Danny. A great retro experience; everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. The "fries specials," "nasischijf," and "frikandel special" were served quickly at the table by the new Chinese owner on plates with cutlery. Everything was very tasty. Besides enjoying the food, we found ourselves in a snack bar where, apart from the fryer and the new owner, nothing had changed in 50 years. It was very nice to see, among other things, framed, faded photos of the Dutch national team from decades ago hanging on the wall while enjoying your fries. A fine and clean place.

A huge compliment to this new snack bar owner for preserving the entire nostalgic AZ interior. After all, many AZ fans come here. Furthermore, many other aspects have simply remained the same. Snacks made with love on a plate :) Keep up the good work, and Snackbar Danny will remain a commercial success!

Still a household name in Alkmaar. Taken over by another couple not so long ago, but the quality and service remain the same.

I ordered a hamburger without sauce, among other things, the burger itself was completely burnt, a piece was missing and then folded in half on the bun... too bad they didn't just re-bake it... I won't go there again

I had fries with peanut sauce, but the sauce had a nasty, heavy, burnt flavor. I threw it all away. And my croquette sandwich tasted only like breadcrumbs and a barely filled croquette. Never again!

Very friendly owner, great atmosphere, and the food is delicious. The fries are served on a plate with plenty of sauce, and the snack comes with delicious peanut sauce. And the seating is comfortable. I'll definitely be back, highly recommended!

It's been around for 50 years or more, now with two Asian owners. Excellent fries. Satay sauce is thick and spicy...not really my thing. Inside, everything still feels like it's been around for 50 years...a gem...a delightfully old-fashioned feel to this former AZ snack bar.

The food was fine, the milkshakes were still mixed by hand with ice cream. Pieces of strawberry in the milkshakes, very nice! The frikandel was tasty, but the presentation was very sparse. It always makes me a little sad if no effort is put into it. Good portion of fries, with enough sauce. Service was also fine, it wasn't busy, but probably everyone had imagined their order. Will probably come there again!

Generous portions of fries and sauce. Excellent croquettes and pins is no longer a problem! fries mayo cost 3 euros here, so it's really not expensive! (4.85 at smullers in one mini container as a comparison) keep going and don't change anything, not even the interior, great fun 80s style

Even on AZ match days, this cozy snack bar is still open to visitors. Even if there is a line, the staff knows how to serve you very quickly with food that is of very reasonable quality for a snack bar. The snack bar has traditionally been a kind of AZ museum with all the historical photos, shawls and ferns on the wall. A must visit for the true fan!

In terms of appearance and atmosphere, a big ten. I'm just not a fan of how the frikandel is specially prepared there. It is prepared with care and presented in a neat manner. But for me, a frikandel special with curry should be prepared the old-school way. Not that the slice makes it tastier, but it simply makes the mayo/curry distribution better. And in my opinion it tastes better. But maybe I'm the weird one... And I don't know if not having an ATM is some kind of statement or if there's some other reason. But it is neatly stated on the display that they offer free parking as a service, I had just mentioned that you cannot use your debit card. I think there are other simpler solutions. Still, I give them a second chance. Although I will skip the frikandel...

It's great to stop by Danny's snack bar for a snack. You walk in and you immediately feel welcome. Owner and landlady are very friendly.

No-nonsense snack bar. Old-fashioned fun. No debit card payment possible, therefore bank account number was given in good faith. What a relief during this time! TOP!!!!

It's a bit like time has stood still. During my visit around half past six in the afternoon, almost all the tables inside were occupied with people enjoying their meal. Friendly atmosphere and two great people behind the counter who had everything under control, including orders received by telephone. My frikandel special with homemade sauce was really great and the fries and peanut sauce were perhaps the best peanut sauce I have eaten. If I'm in the area I will definitely visit again.

Very nice and old snack bar with nice ladies who enjoy their work. The only disadvantage is that you cannot pay by card. but they solve that by allowing you to transfer the money.

Ate for the first time. Nice vintage case. Excellent fries and bami slice. Bear bite was just a little less. A little dry and the taste was less. Besides that, a good snack bar. Small side note; stating that it is cheaper for the guest not to use the debit card is incorrect due to the prohibition on passing on transaction costs to the guest. This does not alter the fact that the service was good. Very hospitable.
