I've been coming here for around 15 years. The only place in Amsterdam where you can get a falafel with such an extensive salad bar and sauces with all kinds of flavors and herbs. It is not without reason that most businesses in this neighborhood go bankrupt every few years, but Sonny has been in the same place for so long. Sonny and his wife were really well known in the neighborhood and his brother and his wife took over everything and are nice, friendly and attentive people. Definitely recommended, also for tourists . Good food, good people.

I am gluten intolerant, and found this on the Find Me GF app. The man who served us was very kind and told me what I could and couldn’t have. The falafel was delicious! So tasty with the unlimited salad you can get - and the chips are GF too! Very yummy, and home made. 10/10 recommend if you’re in Amsterdam after a tasty meal.

A must if you are in De Pijp or in Amsterdam at all! Very friendly people, delicious falafel and a very wide range of sauces and salads. You are really full, but at the same time it is not too heavy. The fries are also particularly tasty and crispy. The atmosphere in the tent feels like some kind of time capsule from 20 years ago, which only makes the atmosphere even better.

Great spot for delicious falafel at a reasonable price! Perfect for a quick, tasty lunch or a late-night dinner.

I was thinking, should i ride my bike 3km just to get some falafel? Thank God I did! This was the best falafel of my life. For just €8,70 you get falafel in pita bread with hummus and infinite amounts of salad- You heard that right you can come back to get more salad infinite amounts of times. I mean this is a fairy tale for any falafel lover. PS: The fries are great as well, they are homemade from 0 to hero right there at Sonny...

They are an Indian couple who have been living in Spain and speak Spanish. Super nice and the quality of the food is incredible. Very economical and homemade.

I highlight the careful attention that its owner Sonny gives to customers, since he generates a very warm and pleasant atmosphere while you are in the establishment. Without a doubt we will return with my mother from Argentina to continue enjoying those falafels!

I have been coming to this place for over 20 years and the only thing that has not changed in all those years is the taste and quality of the food. Everything just fits here. The falafel is a masterpiece, the fries are delicious, the sauces are perfect, the dips are mouth-watering. I have not mentioned the most important thing, the staff. I know this place from when Sonny was alive. A very nice man who had a very positive outlook on life and had an eye for all people. Everyone loved Sonny. His brothers continue his legend, also very nice people who have never compromised on the quality of the food. So this tent has a story. All in all not 5 stars but 500 stars. RIP Sonny...

Incredible, it’s the best falafel I’ve ever eaten. The toppings are self-service so you can make a real mix of condiments and sauce, which is rare! And the restaurant is run by a very friendly family, frankly it’s 10/10

A falafel restaurant is a sandwich and in front of you there are various vegetables and sauces that are free. If you ask for the samouna, you will get bored of the Indian nationality or his wife. It is delicious and sweet. It will not please you. I advise you to try it.

Best falafel in town: homemade fresh ingredients, crispy, juicy, spicy and fully refreshing at the same time (you can add the salads & toppings yourself). Very friendly y habla español tambien. Just perfect on this hot July holiday! Kids love it as well...Yummy! 👌😋

The owner prides himself on having the best falafel and fries in Amsterdam, and after trying them, I can see why. If you order falafel, you can get unlimited salad and sauce refills, but be sure to add the green sauce (it has a cilantro flavor) and the red onion sauce. The sauce is all made by the owner himself, and it's so delicious. I've tried all kinds of falafel while living in Berlin, but this is the first time I've seen someone who even makes their own sauce... and they also make and fry their own fries every day. Be sure to try the French fries!!

Good pita with excellent toppings for super cheap for Amsterdam. All pitas come with self service toppings from their salad bar, which includes several sauces, cabbage, veggies, yogurt, chickpeas, and lots of types of pickles. Great value for Amsterdam. There's a few seats outside. But mostly it's a takeaway place. There is no bathroom or sink

Hands down, the best falafel pita i’ve ever had in amsterdam. the owner is super sweet and available. everything is super fresh and homemade. with free, unlimited toppings, it’s the one of the few authentic and quality place in the neighborhood.

This place is great. The service is good and the falafel is top quality. I advice you to put some onion souce (red color) on your food. It really enhances the flavor experience. Lekker!

Highly recommend this place. I got a falafel wrap and it was very tasty and had lots of flavour. You get a wrap with falafel and I chose some hummus and then they have little self service boxes with all different types of toppings that you can put on your wrap, such as yoghurt, a spicy sauce, salad, vegetables etc and it makes it into a rather substantial and delicious meal, as well as being good for you nutritionally and is very clean tasting. I also got a side order of fries and these were fairly tasty too and the truffle mayonnaise was lovely.

Amazing falafel at an excellent price, but the real value for money here is the service — the gentleman serving us was warm, explained everything clearly, and offered tastes of the salad and sauce options so we could make our own perfect pita. They also showed some truly wonderful hospitality. My wife has been recovering from the flu and still has a persistent cough, and the gentleman went to grab her a glass of water and gave her a lollipop to soothe her throat. It was a small gesture but shows the genuine attitude of the service here. 10/10 would recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to grab a meal at Sonny’s!

Amazing place, few chairs to sit inside where it’s warmer, but most outside. Falafel is delicious and big portions — you get to refill with toppings as you go! Would recommend the aubergine.

Awesome falafels in the whole world! Binder Bhaiya was amazing, loving and so warm. I am so glad I had this falafel before leaving Amsterdam - a must try in Albert cuyp market for vegetarian, vegan as well as a must try for non vegetarians too if they feel like having vegetarian for a change.

Best falafel in town. For real. I recently injured my nail, so it hurts to write, but it is worth it because Sonny Falafel deserves it. Me and my sister arrived in Amsterdam last friday and we were very hungry, and walked by this place and ended up going back three days in a row. What a falafel man. Almost godly. I really recommend drinking sprite with the falafel, it is like they are made for each other. Since going vegan in 2022 I have missed only one thing, the döner kebab from Keb'up @ Nollendorfplatz in Berlin but this falafel knocks that döner down like a straw man (if that makes any sense). Fricking h3ll. All praise to that falafel guy, he really knows how to make one.

Beste falafel in de Pijp (en misschien wel heel Amsterdam). Een echte familie onderneming! Je kan zelf bijscheppen van alle verse toppings. Sauzen zijn vol van smaak en door Indiase invloeden super goed gekruid. Als je van spices houdt zit je hier goed, niet zo flauw als veel van de andere falafel in Amsterdam.

Letterlijk de beste falafel die ik ooit heb gegeten. Met de salade bar kan je je broodje zelf opmaken. Top dit! Mijn vriendennetje zegt ‘voeg ook ff toe dat de mensen ook super aardig zijn’ dus bij deze.

Ik ben een van zijn eerste klanten. Sonny werd ooit in een artikel van Parool als Falafelkoning genoemd. En dat was de beste titel die je hem kon geven. Iemand die met hart voor zijn werk had. Moest altijd nieuwe dingen van uit uitproberen. Henny die ieder keer als ik kwam zei ' heb je hem weer' :-) Henny heeft het erg zwaar gehad na het overlijden van zijn geliefde. Ik mis die twee echt! Heb moeite om daar weer binnen te komen. Maar voor de beste falafel moet je bij sonny zijn!

kom al langer dan 15jaar naar de beste falafel zaak misschien wel van europa... na het overlijden van sonny en onlang van Hennie is het voor my dubbel gevoel om er weer te zijn .. maar broodjes en de rest er om heen heerst nog steeds de positieve aura van Hennie die grapjes maakt over Sonny en de broodje die intussen tyd word klaar gemaakt met albert cuyp in de achtergrond .. super lekkere amsterdams joodse falafel met de specerijen van india zoals Hennie en Sonny ze hebt bedacht.. broer van van sonny die runt nu de zaak supervriendelijke man die famile legacy aan het voort zetten is .. raad iedereen aan om er na toe te gaan .

Nourriture de qualité et prix correct. Le service est vraiment au top, je recommande.
