A wonderful Turkish restaurant in Amsterdam, perfect for families. The food is delicious, the service is fast, the staff is attentive, and the environment is very clean. Everything is top-notch; I wholeheartedly recommend it. My thanks to Mr. Burhan for his attentive service.

I have been there quite often because you can have breakfast until quite late, and also without a buffet. So breakfast at your own table. Unfortunately, the last two times were a huge disappointment and I don't see myself going again anytime soon. What struck me was that the Simit was sold out on both occasions, which for me is one of the hallmarks of a good Turkish breakfast. Everything that is served isn't very inviting; it's tasteless, cheap, and not fresh. A piece of bread had jam on it, probably from another table earlier. I also really wonder if they simply reuse the cheese and salami etc. if it hasn't been eaten at another table. It looked like it hadn't been in the fridge for a while. I spent a very pleasant evening here: the food was excellent and the welcome was excellent. A rich Etli Patlican Guvec platter, the delicious ayran (complimentary tea), and Turkish coffee for two for just over €60 in Amsterdam were a lovely surprise!

We had a wonderful time. Dinner consisted of Etli Patlican Guvec, a rich and flavorful Turkish stew made with tender pieces of meat, freshly sliced ​​eggplant, and fresh vegetables, accompanied by ayran, a drink made from yogurt, water, and salt, originating from the Turkic-Altaic people. The price was fair (not even too high for the Netherlands), and the staff was extremely friendly... it's just a shame it's in Amsterdam (a bit inconvenient for frequent trips).

Best place for eating and working

About a month ago, I went with an acquaintance. Everything was great; the service, the food, the atmosphere, everything was wonderful. Based on that, I took another friend there today. I regretted it very much. I ordered lamb skewers, but they were reheated, left uneaten, and had been prepared for someone else. The outside was dry, and the meat smelled strange. Even worse, the vegetables were wilted, watery, and had a bizarre color. My friend ordered shepherd's stew, which was good. They gave us tea in the smallest cup for 2.5 Euros. When we asked for a third cup, the two waiters sitting there initially ignored my request, then when I called them, they pretended to get it but didn't. Later, I asked the woman taking the bill, and she snapped at me, "My colleagues got it, they'll bring it." But 10 minutes later, she brought it herself. In short, I will never go there again, nor would I recommend it. It's extremely expensive, and the staff are unfriendly.

Had a lovely lunch here a couple of days ago. Food was delicious and well presented, the staff were great. And the view of the water is also very nice. If you are in this area and looking for something better than fast-food, this is a very good option.

It is a real shame that people with allergies are not taken into account, or that no one is thinking about how it can be adapted. I also offered some ideas myself based on how it was possible before, but that wasn't accepted either. Very disappointing.

The restaurant is large and suitable for large groups. The waiters speak English with difficulty, but it's understandable. We got our order mixed up, but we figured it out. Salmon with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. It's good that there are spices on the table, as the salmon was terrible, the mashed potatoes were disgusting, and the vegetables were fine. The tomato soup with chicken was good. The Turkish tea, as advertised, was completely tasteless. The red velvet and chocolate cakes were excellent, though; both the presentation and the taste were excellent!

It doesn't have a Ramadan atmosphere; the music was loud, stopping at Athan and then immediately starting again. The prayer was performed in a small cubicle where the staff cleanses them and hang clothes. The food is okay and the place is nice, but not for iftar.

This place is a joke… €4.50 for a coffee, more expensive than in the center of Amsterdam. And the woman even charged an extra €0.50 just because I asked for an ice cube. An ice cube. The worst part? This place isn’t even in a nice area. It’s far from the city center and the surroundings are quite rough, yet they charge absurd prices and try to squeeze every extra cent out of you. I had the same coffee in central Amsterdam and paid €1.50 less. Avoid this place. Businesses that treat customers like this shouldn’t survive.

Sortie is one of my favorite Turkish restaurants. I come back every Ramadan to dine here. The price-quality ratio is excellent, highly recommended!

An excellent place! I had the salmon and it was cooked to absolute perfection: just pearly white, melting in your mouth, and with a beautifully crispy skin. The side dishes were equally delicious. A flawless choice for fish lovers!

Disgraceful breakfast. Not fresh, cheese, salami, etc., all straight from the supermarket, poor quality, and no flavor. The quantity is so meager/small, compared to other Turkish restaurants. The price-quality ratio is extremely poor. I paid €70 for this breakfast, and I feel like I'm stealing from my own wallet... The sigara boregi was definitely double-fried, probably left over from the previous meal. The borek, small croissants, are ready-made frozen products that are simply popped in the oven. Nothing is homemade! The eggs were probably boiled at 7:00 AM, hard green inside because they'd been sitting for several hours. So, they're just cold eggs. The containers you see are for breakfast for 3 people? In short, are you ordering for 2 people? Or for 4 people? The containers are the same quantity. See the last photo from last year. This was a breakfast for 2 people, so there's no difference compared to 3 or 4 people. You only get a piece of cheese, borek, etc., extra, but the containers of jam, hummus, tapenade, and green pepper with yogurt are not included if you order breakfast for 3 or 4 people. Menemen and omelets all cost extra; I believe I paid around 15 euros for these two extras. (For example, at Restaurant Goreme, this is included in the price.) All in all, the taste was extremely disappointing. No quality, no freshness, not tasty. The kisir was terrible... This breakfast for 3 people, including menemen and omelet, cost us 70 euros. No homemade, tasty products; there was nothing special about the breakfast or the taste sensation we left with. Which doesn't make me think, "Oh, how wonderful it was, that I'd love to come back to Sortie for breakfast." Not at all. Also, the service was unfriendly. We arrived and happened to be leaving a group. So, before placing an order, we indicated we'd like to change tables. The male waiter indicated that this would take at least 15 minutes because they had to clear the table first. We didn't mind. You could tell from his facial expression that he wasn't happy about it. Then the female waiter came to take our order. We again indicated that we'd like to sit at the other table, and we got the same look (you're giving me extra work, so we have to clear it first, etc.). They had no idea that we'd mentioned this before. The female waiter also indicated that it would take at least 15 minutes. We told them we'd already been told that and that we didn't mind. You could tell from their facial expressions that they weren't happy about this. All in all, breakfast 3/10, service 3/10. The restaurant itself was also cold. They were trying to heat it with heaters, which looked a bit unprofessional. And the temperature in the restaurant felt cold. Not pleasant. If you live nearby (walking distance), I think it's a great place for a drink. Do you really want to enjoy breakfast outside? Skip this advice!

The Turkish tea wasn't on the house and wasn't fresh either. It was so dark my wife couldn't drink it. The food itself was okay, but not up to the standard of our previous experience. We ordered two Lokum burgers. And in winter, it would be nicer if it were heated up a bit more inside.

The stuffed meatballs were very dry. We ordered food but no forks came. The soups were also very bad, not worth the money.

Beautiful restaurant located in the water with a varied menu and delicious desserts.

Orders arrive very late, and the waiters are a bit slow to understand. They show zero interest. We even go to them and ask them to attend to us. Is there such a thing? It's okay, we'll clear our table and we'll be waiting for ten hours with plates. I think they need to work with more professional service people.

I'm not sure if it's worth the money or the worst breakfast I've ever had... this is just not enough. The women's restroom was a mess. It would be great if you paid a little more attention to cleanliness.

I kept saying I'd comment, but I forget. The mememen I had for breakfast was one of the most unpleasant. Last month, I went for dinner with my guests, and it was both expensive and not worth the price. The staff was also very interesting. There was a waiter named Hasan, a snobbish, and he was yelling at the waiters. His manager, a sullen man at the cash register, was constantly foul-mouthed and uttering insults. He was talking about marrying a Bulgarian woman, bullying others, and using profanity. At one point, a dark-skinned man emerged from the kitchen, saying unspeakable things about the female waiters, and I think he was smoking a cigarette. It's a place where such strange, uncouth, foul-mouthed, and malicious people work. Of course, when you see it not just once but several times, you can't forget it. :) The boss should also be congratulated for bringing together so many interesting people. Oh, and there's a veiled woman (I don't know her name) who would yell in the mornings, constantly accusing the staff of theft, saying things like, "This one's lost, that one's lost." I haven't been there in months since I witnessed this. May God grant patience to the innocent workers here and the customers who witnessed this.

We booked Sortie after our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. What lovely people, who were so helpful with everything from service to lunch. Everything was taken care of perfectly. Thank you all, and a special thank you to dear Gülten.

I used to eat at this restaurant regularly, and it was okay back then. Yesterday, after a long time, I went back and was very disappointed. I noticed it was practically empty on a Saturday night. Now I understand why. We ordered three kofte dishes. They were served quickly, but that was the only positive. As soon as we started eating the kofte, we noticed a raw, wet, ground meat taste on the inside, while the outside had become almost dry from grilling at high heat. We immediately raised this with the waitress. She suggested having it re-grilled, but we explained that this wouldn't solve the problem. The waitress then asked us if we could swap it for a chicken dish. We thought that would be a better idea. While we ordered three dishes, we only received one chicken dish and the same two kofte dishes, but garnished. It was still raw. The waitress indicated that she warns people not to order this kofte dish. Remove it from the menu, or find a solution? Isn't it delicious at other restaurants? After all, it's one of the most standard dishes on a Turkish restaurant menu. Without having enjoyed our meals at all, and even feeling nauseous, we went to the cash register to pay. The waitress brazenly wanted to charge us the full amount, including the three kofte dishes. We then explained that we couldn't eat the kofte. She then gave us a 30% discount because of the vegetables and rice in the dish. Still not worth the money. We will never go here again and advise against it if you're looking for a good meal.
