The food is top-notch, the service is 100x better than in the city center, and with us, the atmosphere is always 100. And don't forget the 5 shots for 10 euro deal. Damn good deal👍🏻. It's just a shame they aren't open later. I'd love to sit there until 5 in the morning.

This is home base, you always feel welcome here. I definitely recommend the drinks and the nachos. I also definitely recommend the weekend, because we make it super cozy then. Come by!!!

Lovely terrace, the best here in Osdorp. The staff is very attentive, and the "young" team is also extremely hospitable. What stands out is how intensely they are involved in the kitchen! I have been active in the hospitality industry for about 60 years myself, so I think I know what I'm talking about... The service is excellent and the kitchen is exceptionally creative with the dishes on the menu. It makes me curious every time... The menu is very reasonably priced. I sit here very comfortably with my Pinot Griccio (formerly always Sauvignon) and tasty snacks, including the prawns! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing this time; the satay was somewhat tasteless, the sauce was really too thick, lots of atjar and prawn crackers. The bavette was unfortunately tough, but the burgers were good and tasted fine.

Cozy eatery with a relaxed atmosphere. The World Cup could be watched on a big screen. It was nice that there was also a monkey bar and board games for our youngest, which made having to wait quite a long time for the main course less annoying. The food was tasty; we would love to come back again.

It is a shame that you are served a small portion of fries for one person when there are two of you. When you ask about this, the answer is: “that is a portion for two, but I will have another portion brought shortly.” That second portion is then the same size as the first single portion, so you end up paying for an extra portion that you didn't receive initially. Because it is subsequently added to your bill as an extra. Very unfortunate. Otherwise, the food was delicious.

Hidden gem. Had a delicious lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The chicken satay was dry, but the rest was fine. Great salad, tasty baked potato, and friendly service.

I am here for the second time. The food here is pleasant and good. But there is someone behind the bar who doesn't think service is important; she is so uninterested. Someone like that ensures this will be the last time I come here. It's a shame she isn't good for your business. A little later a man came to stand with them and then it went better. It seems like she just isn't in the mood.

Had Grandma Bob’s croquettes for lunch. It was tasty. Friendly and quick service. The fireplace had gone out, but the fuel was quickly refilled and the cozy fire was lit again. That is a point I find important too. I live in the neighborhood, so I come here often.

I was enthusiastic the previous times, but not this time. There was a shortage of staff. The food was just so-so. The fried eggs had dry, hard yolks. The pastries were good, but they came with watery whipped cream from a spray can. Sorry, but Holtkamp apple pie requires good whipped cream. Especially for €6.90!!

I usually have a pleasant and delicious meal here, but yesterday was unfortunately disappointing. The service was very slow, even though it wasn't particularly busy. The schnitzel with mushroom sauce had little flavor, and the fries were hard and dry; they even resembled the last of the stale leftovers. Furthermore, it's really not cheap for what you get, so it's not worth the money. It's a shame, because it's actually one of the nicer places in the area. Enough for now.

Great restaurant, the food is good for a reasonable price and the atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy, you feel right at home.

We love coming here and recommend it to friends, family, and clients. The staff is friendly and attentive - we were helped by Naut and Ana on this occasion, but never have cause to complain. The food, as well as the recommendations, are always spot on. It's also lovely to sit outside in the warmer months!

Delicious mixed grill for 2 people

Spontaneous dinner for three at Thijs's. Meh, I don't really want it this way anymore. The mussels were fine, but my satay was stale (I had stomach problems afterward). The two men serving were more interested in the ladies at the tables next to us, who were smoking in the tent or busy on their phones. After a while, when we arrived, we asked for the menu. No one asked if we enjoyed it or if we wanted another drink. Finally, we asked if they could please clear the table. We paid, and bye.

The young man who served us was excellent, prompt, and pleasant. The atmosphere is cozy. We chose the salmon fillet with lobster sauce from the specials board. I appreciated the original vegetable combination: braised fennel with samphire and peas. The fish was delicious with crispy skin and a generous portion. The fact that the samphire had a single hard piece didn't bother me at this reasonable price. For dessert, we had coffee and bonbons. It's a shame the delicious bonbons came straight from the refrigerator. We will definitely be back.

Eetfcafé Thijs is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious (meat and fish), and the service is enthusiastic, friendly, and skilled. Yesterday, Naut was very helpful. When we were there, they also had a great 70s disco Spotify playlist on, which definitely added to the atmosphere. Especially in the summer, it's lovely to sit outside.

I found Louis's personal training program (Match Performance) through the co-owner of Eercafé Thijs (Match Sport). I was in terrible shape, and that's improved significantly. I've also lost over 20 kilos, but I still need to lose another 20 kilos. Plenty of work to do. At the same time, I became a client at the cozy Eetcafé Thijs (Match), which also has a fantastic terrace. The excellent kitchen team is also important, helping me maintain a healthy diet. In short, the entire facility is my "living room," and I'm thrilled about that.

*Addition based on owner's comment: If the owner would use the time and energy he invests in justifying reviews to fix his kitchen, service, and prices, this discussion wouldn't be necessary at all. Priorities, Thijs. -------------------- What a disappointment this place has become. Thijs was once known as an affordable, high-quality restaurant with generous portions and hospitality. Now it's nothing more than an overpriced, pathetic establishment where customer focus and quality are completely lacking. The prices are simply absurd: €6.10 for a craft beer – you wouldn't even pay that much in the heart of Amsterdam. And then there's this 'special offer': coffee and a piece of cake for €9.50… so they call that a promotion? Moreover, the food was far below par. Everything has to be ordered separately, which makes it extra expensive, and to make matters worse, we got sick from it. When we pointed this out, we didn't even get a decent response. Instead, the owner came to our table, impulsively took away all the plates, and tried to "make amends" in a passive-aggressive manner. He didn't let us finish, radiated irritation, and clearly didn't take criticism well. This was our very last time. Where Thijs was once a household name, it's now a soulless establishment that prices itself out of the market with Spanish street-hall quality. A real shame. What remains is just an expensive label on a disappointing experience.
