Had a wonderful evening sharing a rice table with family. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Will come again next time we are in town.

The food is delicious! 9.5/10, Me as a indonesian going on a vacation to Amsterdam. I would eat again in this restaurant. The Rendang was very good, the spices was perfect and the meat is soft. Also the Sate is yummy! Also the dessert is very good.

Discovered this fantastic Indonesian restaurant. The restaurant has two floors, the first floor looking busy but very cozy. The second floor caters to larger groups. Friendly, efficient, and clear explanations/service. Indonesian rice table (3 courses - for 2 people): generous portions, extensive, varied, and very (authentic) delicious. Reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

We just popped in off the street because we thought it was a nice place. We got there about 10 minutes before opening time, but they helped us anyway. What I can definitely say is: if you're walking by, just go in. The food was delicious, the service was unparalleled, and the atmosphere… like being in another world. We ordered the rijsttafel (rice table); it tasted fantastic, and we were both completely full. We'll definitely be back. And if you're in doubt—don't! Just make a reservation and treat yourself!

A small but very nice restaurant. Friendly staff who managed to arrange a table for 7 even though the place was almost full. Very good food that was appreciated by all ages in our company, from 12-84 years. Can definitely be recommended if you want to eat affordable Indonesian food.

I was glad I could order rijst tafel for only one person. However, looking at the menu later I didn’t get all the dishes listed on the menu. Definitely did not receive either lamb dish, fried chicken or the second satay with lemongrass. I was charged full price. It was a decent rijst tafel nonetheless. Not everything tasted same-y, a problem I have with a lot of rijst tafels. My companion was happy with his nasi tamil. The dining room is very pretty though some tables for two are a slightly tight squeeze.

The food tastes authentically Indonesian. It's delicious. However, the stairs to the second floor are quite steep.

We had a beautiful dinner this week. We arrived shortly before 8pm. We both choose the set menu which gave us several taster bowls + 2 rice. Huge portions overall, very tasty. We would definitely return, and recommend to others, however I would want to arrive a bit earlier, as the clock was on us from 9.40pm, with constant checking of watch by the son, and the chef was sitting with his coat on as they got ready to close up. Yes they closed at 10pm, but we only got our dessert at 9.40 and still had wine to drink. Felt pressurised to eat up/drink up and go at the end, which somewhat spoiled our evening meal. We wont however let this put us off from returning, as the food was lovely, but anyone going, you should go earlier so as to feel relaxed throughout the dining experience. The restaurant opens at 5pm. Eating out is not cheap anymore, and we were celebrating our anniversary.

The food was good :) I had the noodle special and I think that the beef was a little overcooked and hard to chew. Everything was seasoned well and with just the right amount of spice.

We’ve never tasted Indonesian food before so we didn’t really know what to expect. This restaurant is truly fantastic and the full menu (starters, mains, dessert) provided a stunning variation of everything the Indonesian kitchen has to offer. I would totally recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Miserable male waiter who seemed so pissed serving us. He has zero patience to answer any questions about the menu and then once food was served he never came back to inquire if we needed anything at all. The food was average at best and felt like a tired mish mosh of Malaysian, Indian and Thai flavors none of them done well. Such a waste of money especially given the crap service.

This is a small, homey restaurant that serves delicious Indonesian food. My friend comes here every time she’s in Amsterdam, and has raved about their Rijstaffel. We weren’t up for the Rijstaffel, and had a crispy duck and a rendang curry(?). Both were served with a light vegetable pickle which were a nice contrast to the food. Both dishes were delicious.

This was our introduction to Indonesian cuisine, and we were glad to have found Srikandi. It's a cozy restaurant overlooking a nice canal. The staff were friendly and offered recommendations that guided our experience. All of the food was delicious and we hope to be back and to try more Indonesian food in the future.

Never take a way food up there it's a rib off, I've had a gulai Kambing and a nasi goreng srikandi, this costs € 33.95 euros omg. Taste was okay not that wow factor that I always have to eat gulai kambing meet was still hard. Wast of my money! Not worth it! 🤣 reaction from the owner hilarious! Tourist trap! The decor is nice but the food is not fresh and of poor quality, and the prices are really expensive for something unpleasant to eat... I hope we don't get sick.

Walked in with a family of 4 without reservation. Food options was great, very tasty,reminds us with our trip to Indonesia a year ago,very friendly service. Highly recommended when you visit Amsterdam.

Pedimos el plato mixto Satay en el que el pollo y dos gambas grandes estaban hechos correctamente y se podían comer. PERO, los dos corderos flacos Satay estaban secos, duros y no eran comestibles. El Cordero no podía ser masticado y tuvo que ser desechado. El Nasi Goreng y el Arroz Amarillo fueron pedidos como guarniciones con nuestro Plato Principal de Gambas. Estos venían en tazas cuadradas diminutas con aproximadamente dos cucharadas de arroz muy seco que de nuevo no era comestible después de dejarlo demasiado tiempo para secarse. Esta calidad de producto nunca debió salir de la cocina y debió ser descartada antes de ser servida a los clientes por 6 - 7 € la taza. Nuestro segundo pedido de estos eran mucho mejores ya que estaban recién hechos. En general, una cena muy decepcionante.

I came in for a meal with a tour troop and the food tasted like a prison rendition of Indonesian food. Everything tasted bland, and zero spices were used. It felt that these where precooked foods that they where just poring a sauce onto and serving

Indonesian food is famous in the Netherlands, so I think it's worth trying at least once. If you want to try it, I recommend it here. I ordered Dajing rendeng and Amstel beir and it was really delicious. It seems to suit Korean tastes. The price was 27.5 euros and 3.85 euros each. The atmosphere is very old-fashioned, so it would be great for couples, friends, and families. However, people with impaired legs may find it difficult as the bathroom is located in the basement and the stairs are very steep.

Can't recommend them enough. Everything we ate was delicious, and our server is a very friendly woman. We lucked out and were the only visitors when we arrived, so she had the time to chat with us at length.

Really tasty Indonesian food, we had a noodle dish and a very aromatic beef dish. It was a bit quiet inside, I wonder if the scaffolding currently on the outside is making people think it's closed, it is certainly open and worth a visit!

Apparently not open on Mondays as Google maps says, or as the booking service says. Went to your website, reserved a table for 18:30, but when I came there at 18:20 it was dark inside and nobody answered the door. Had to go elsewhere for Rijstaffel on very short notice, was a bit unpleasant.

Terrible service. Made a New Years reservation in advance for a vacation in Amsterdam they didn’t honor and told us they couldn’t serve us when we arrived. Avoid this place!

Cancelled our reservation on New Year’s Eve that we had for over a month. Terrible service and very rude. No respect whatsoever and most likely being racist towards Dutch costumers (us). As everyone sitting in there was Indonesian, and was seating just fine. Very surprising and disappointing in this experience.

I read the bad reviews and the owner’s unfriendly replies that made me hesitate to put on a review. But then I decide to put one, here I am, hopefully wouldn’t receive an unpleasant reply. We are two girls which don’t eat a lot, and I explained this before we ordered: 1. rendang kambing 2. sate ayam 3. white rice 4. spekkoek (desserts, which is layered cake with vanilla ice cream) 1. The food I think is precooked just as the reviews said, but understandable, because I wouldn’t expect beef dishes with rendang paste will be ready in ten or twenty minutes. But my daughter had a diarrhea the day after (I didn’t know if it’s because their food because I am totally okay, but maybe I had lived in Indonesian for years and I will recommend non Indonesian people to reconsider especially if you have a weak stomach which my daughter doesn’t usually) 2. The atmosphere is tensed and strange, you feel like they’re rushing to serve the table, the food and everything that makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. 3. The service : the tall male waiter seemed so serious, which add even more to the strange vibe. Though they keep asking: is everything good? Overall the portions and the prices are really okay for us. The meal was fine to us especially when I missed Indonesian food so much, but I won’t expect it to be authentic to be in Europe. I wish the best for the owner though because in the replies of the reviews he mentioned a lot that they had served 30 years here. Btw my daughter had taken two imodium and is still suffering from diarrhea while waiting for the pills to work. Best wishes too for her 😂 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

This place is an absolute disaster, the server was absolutely straight up rude, when asked for recommendations he said “you pick whatever, I don’t care” and wouldn’t let us order the amount of stuff that we think is enough for us. We just got up and walked out after. Don’t ever go there

Esta fue mi primera comida indonesia, y realmente disfruté el plato que pedí. Estaba solo y entré (sin reserva) un domingo por la noche después de visitar uno de los museos. Me recibieron cálidamente y mi servidor era excelente y respondió a todas mis preguntas con paciencia. Me ayudó a elegir entre los dos platos que estaba contemplando. Terminé recibiendo el rendang daging, y fue fenomenal - lleno de sabor y la carne estaba perfectamente cocinada. Estoy feliz de haber probado este lugar y sin duda volvería si alguna vez en Amsterdam de nuevo.

The food here is excellent and the service by the owner and staff is wonderful! We loved the sampling of all the dishes in the Indonesian Rijsttafel Special. It’s perfect for 2 people and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

We came here to try a Rijsttafel and it was phenomenal! There’s something for everyone and the price is definitely worth the amount of food you get (although you should come hungry). My personal favorite was the peanut sauce chicken skewer, but we also loved the fried prawns. The service was great too—our waiter was very attentive.

Food was OK so far, but what is strange is that rice is charged extra. This should be included with every meal.

Eating Indonesian food in Amsterdam. The taste is slightly different from the original Indonesian one, maybe because the seasoning is different, but the taste is still ok. I had beef rendang, chicken satay, yellow egg, and gado-gado too. The restaurant is quite large but the arrangement of seats for groups is not right because it is elongated and there is no room to get in and out of the table, if people have sat all can not go out again because there are other groups just next to us.

We had the full course experience and it was delightful. The food was tasty, plentiful, and the service was lovely. Would definitely recommend for those who love Indonesian flavors.

We had the Indonesian Rijsttafel here and this my first time eating Indonesian food anywhere. It was excellent. Each one of the 7-8 small dishes was an explosion of different flavors. Vegetarian rijsttafel was excellent too. Service is good and ambience is very nice and cozy. Window tables have a view of the canal.

Owner was extremely rude to us and told us we cannot sit next to each other. After not listening to instructions as my intention was to sit with my partner whilst we had a meal, the owner came over again and told my partner to move to the other side of the table even though it was a 4 seater table and no one else was in the restaurant apart from one lady! Owner didn’t even say bye just stared badly. Waiter was the only nice thing about this restaurant.

Very tasty Indonesian food especially the yellow rice and vegetable appetisers that came with the Ayam Kamengi. A little pricey but that’s the level for this area.

Wir hatten zu acht in diesem seit 30 Jahren sehr erfolgreichen indonesischen Lokal reserviert. Das Ambiente in diesem kleinen Restaurant ist landestypisch. Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker gekocht und haben wirklich gut geschmeckt. Als einziges ist der Hinweis wichtig, das alle Gerichte ohne Reis in der Speisekarte aufgeführt werden, + weißem oder gelbem Reis kommt man dann schon auf die ca. 30,— Euro pro Person. Normal in diesen Zeiten.

I was able to eat traditional Indonesian food in an old-fashioned atmosphere. It was a fairly traditional restaurant, and the staff was friendly and provided quality service to all guests throughout the meal. The food was also very delicious. Mee Goreng never betrays me haha. First of all, I really liked how traditional the restaurant was. The staff were really friendly and they cared for their customers very well throughout the meal. The food was absolutely amazing as well - especially I really liked their Mie Goreng.

Delicious nicely prepared food and good service in a pleasant ambience. I hope we can return when next in Amsterdam. The food gave one an opportunity to try interesting Far Eastern cuisine.

We were kindly greeted by the owner who made us feel warmly welcomed. The variety of food available was impressive. The food was promptly served and the staff member who served our food took the time to explain what was in the dishes. This was a fantastic introduction to Indonesian food for my girlfriend and I and we cannot recommend this place enough. We look forward to returning here on our next trip to Amsterdam.

We had a lovely meal here whilst in Amsterdam for a couple of days to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We had the set menu after talking to the owner about the food, as we had never eaten Indonesian before and it was absolutely delicious. We would most definitely recommend this restaurant.

Based on the very good reviews, we were excited to try this restaurant. We were welcomed very nicely and the service was friendly throughout our visit. However, it seemed every item we ordered had been precooked and just reheated for us, with results that ranged from okay to not good.

Excellent service and absolutely fabulous food. Great family run restaurant with traditional food and a friendly atmosphere. 100% recommend a visit.

Last night in Amsterdam and wanted to try Indonesian food for the first time. Srikandi was recommended to us and it was an excellent experience! Service was beautiful, the staff was very kind and attentive. The food was so flavorful, spicy but not too harsh.

We came here for dinner on our first night in Amsterdam. It was delicious and didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend it.

Worse experience !!! Garbage food, cramped venue, …. worse still the owner was rude & even yelled & used inappropriate gestures towards customers. Shame on the owner !!!

Ate an Indian rice table with the children (10 & 11). My son told me: "nicely decorated, good service, good food but not for children under 12." The adults really liked the food, perhaps a little too much ginger for my taste. Unfortunately my daughter didn't like anything. Hence only 3 stars for the food. The service was super friendly.

Absolutely delicious food! First time having Indonesian food and I can’t wait to go back. Get the “special” it’s a ton of food but everything is excellent. Spicy, sweet, and savory all in one meal
