Starbucks in Burgwallen-Nieuwe Zijde

This is the second time I've ordered from this restaurant, and the experience was terrible. There was a dark-skinned woman wearing glasses who was extremely racist and behaved very unprofessionally. I ordered from her, and she claimed I hadn't ordered anything, and I waited an extremely long time for my order.

It was okay. They got both our names wrong and we missed our order for over 10 minutes. Nice view out the window. Staff were nice.

Yesterday I picked up a Too Good To Go order at this Starbucks and I was really, really disappointed. If I couldn't give stars, I would have. The display case was packed with various tasty sweets, so I expected a varied package to be prepared for me. It was my turn, and the lady behind the counter was very arrogant and didn't seem happy to be standing there. She handed me a package, and I didn't look inside immediately because I wanted to catch my train. When I looked inside the package, there were 5 identical sticky donuts that looked the only unappetizing ones of everything else there. I took one bite of one of the donuts, and it was so dry that I threw the rest in the trash immediately. What ridiculous service! A waste of time, my good mood, and money... such a shame.

We asked for no ice in the drinks, but the worker initially forgot. I politely reminded her that we had asked for no ice, and she snatched the drink back, took the ice out, and gave us a half-full cup. €13 for two sips, completely unacceptable. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Disgusting coffee! I simply ordered a normal coffee, but what I got was half-cold slop that just smelled like coffee!

Starbucks quality is already known, but the service is extremely slow.

Olga is a fantastic service provider. She even handles larger groups (families) on the fly. Despite the chaos caused by the children, she remained composed, kind, and courteous!

Poor service, they don't accept cash and they don't have any drinks listed on the website.

The chargers don't work at all, although this is advertised as a plus. The staff is chatting in the back room, and you'll have to wait for them to finish before you can get service. It's dirty all over the tables. They also don't warn you in advance about the fees for certain choices. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

OLGAAA is one of a kind lady who is taking orders at Starbucks. She is beautiful inside out. All of the people there. WOW.

The only reason I’m writing this review is because of Olga, she was an absolutely amazing barista! From the moment I walked up to the counter she greeted me with the biggest smile and helped me with so much passion, enthusiasm, and genuine kindness. Her joy was infectious and completely made my day! Shout out to you Olga, you are truly incredible!

Our drinks were consistent with all the SB we have been to around the world. The atmosphere is very nice, nice views. The person who served me was pleasant and friendly. The barista not so much, she said the chocolate drizzle on the Java chip frappuccino cost extra. She begrudgingly put some on after I said; "not where I come from " She looks like she does not enjoy working here

Very rude girl. She makes customers feel stupid for not reading her “No Ice” signs, when customers are clearly focused on looking at the menu. Terrible experience.

We don't always go to Starbucks, but if we see one, we always have a cup of Starbucks.

Nothing better than wait for 10m in the queue just to learn that you dont have ice. No sign, still advertising the iced products… why this never happened to me in other countries?

Absolutely useless. All their electrical outlets were unplugged 'deliberately' lol. Supposedly out of order. I've never seen a Starbucks that doesn't let customers use their own outlets to charge their smartphones. And this is right in the city center. Pathetic.

Service here is a disaster, very slow....and above all they do not accept big notes....

We stopped at this Starbucks near the central station in the Netherlands today and honestly had one of the best customer service experiences ever thanks to Olga. She was unbelievably kind, warm, patient and genuinely caring from the very first second. You can immediately tell when someone truly enjoys making people feel welcome, and that is exactly the energy she gives off. In a world where customer service often feels rushed or impersonal, Olga stood out in the best possible way. She was smiling the entire time, incredibly attentive and just radiated such a positive and comforting atmosphere. She honestly made our whole day better. It is rare to meet someone this naturally friendly and professional at the same time. Starbucks is very lucky to have an employee like her because she represents the brand perfectly. Without exaggerating, she is probably the sweetest employee we have ever met anywhere. Thank you again, Olga, for being such a wonderful person and making our visit so special. We will definitely remember this experience 🤍

Warning! I ordered a caramel macchiato for €6.60. The waitress asked if I wanted whipped cream, and I said no, just milk foam as usual. Then she charged me €0.75! I only noticed this when I was told it was an extra. I hadn't ordered it. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, she offered a refund, which I refused. That's not the issue, but not telling customers the prices upfront is not good business practice. It's worth noting that this problem doesn't exist at the other Starbucks in the train station.

Was helped by this wonderful barista called Olga who brought a smile to anyone who came in. From the spot that I took, I could clearly see how she handled every guest that came in: warm and with kindness and humour.

My breakfast was delicious! I decided to eat a matcha muffin and it was so good!! But the most beautiful thing was the waitress, OLGA! She made my day 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you! Enjoy

Service and beverages are decent. One thing that would have made the experience more pleasant would be to fix the door as it was banging everytime someone came in. Recommend installing soft close feature on the entrance door.

Thier charging ports don’t work, fix them

A very bad experience at this Starbucks in Amsterdam Central Station. We are French and don't speak perfect English, but that should never justify such a reception. The person who served us, named Gill, was extremely unpleasant: she had no patience, pressured us to order quickly, and made it clear that we were bothering her. We felt uncomfortable and almost rushed, as if we weren't welcome. This is unacceptable in a place meant to serve international customers, even more so in a train station. On top of that, the order wasn't even honored: I asked for a cold matcha and received a hot one. Between the order error and, above all, the staff's attitude, the experience was truly deplorable. It's a shame for a brand like Starbucks, where one normally expects a minimum of professionalism and respect.

Starbucks is a great spot to relax, especially with its excellent cappuccino and delicious chocolate cookies. The view toward the canal is beautiful and adds a special charm to the experience. It is also very easy to access due to its close location to Amsterdam Central Station. The staff are friendly and welcoming. One small downside is that it can get quite crowded and prices are a bit high, but overall it is still a very enjoyable place to visit.

I asked twice if the pistachio latte cream was vegan and they said yes , then I got an allergic reaction . Well thanks for that

They do not speak Dutch. They do not have a toilet. They do not have wifi. Their hot chocolate tastes like instant mix. Their atmosphere is not very nice. Sorry, I will not come back.

Just had coffee here this morning, the two ladies who were serving today were extremely impressive with their excellent customer service, they were so friendly, welcoming, and warm towards all the customers. It really makes a difference to your day being served by friendly and smiling staff!! 5 stars!!

Long wait for one latte, they made it wrong, but at this point I've already waited about fifteen minutes, so I didn't want them to remake it and wait another fifteen. EDIT 15/02/26: Barista with long, curly blonde hair at 1:15PM today completely changed my view of this store. She wasn't only nice and helpful, but she also made sure our drinks were made how we asked them to. And for the first time, my chai finally came kid's temp, and not regular hot!

The menu could use more options. More hot chocolate, for example. But the freshly baked goods taste great.

Friendly staff and a very welcoming atmosphere. The lemon cake was absolutely delicious. Despite Google Maps showing the place as closed, it was actually open when we visited — we ordered on Saturday night around 9:00 PM. A great experience overall, and definitely worth a visit.

I ordered a chai latte and received warm milk. When requested to fix it the barista passive aggressively “fixed it”, tasted the same. Do not recommend.

Located inside the station near the ticket gate, you can use your time effectively until your train arrives.

Ridiculous prices and I was here with my best friend, I am the one who ordered first, I am the one who paid and the barista only asked my friend's name and then she wrote HER name on BOTH OF OURS and I find that so incredibly offensive. I am the one who left money here (sadly) and she just goes and writes THE WRONG NAME on my cup without a second thought? Absolutely disgusting.

It's of good quality, but the decoration isn't high quality, especially for Christmas.

The barista (female blond hair) working on Sunday morning is not very costumer friendly.When ordering they never asked if we wanted cream or specified that the cream was extra in our drink, the visual of it shows it with cream. When I asked her at the counter for the cream she said we had to paid extra for it. Not very (holiday) seasonal or special the costumer service here.

This is a nice, large Starbucks, located by the Ferry Terminal in Amsterdam-Centraal Station. The cafe area is modern and comfortable, and it does feel quite spacious, even when busy, which is especially useful as the location can get very busy, being inside the station. It can be a nice place to sit, grab a coffee and admire the views of the water, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating. The menu here is pretty much the same as all Starbucks locations in the EMEA region. Pricing has been a little higher than in the UK historically, but with recent price rises back home, it’s pretty much the same thereabouts now. I ordered an Iced Red Velvet Latte. It wasn’t the best drink I’ve had, but it was at least on par with other Starbucks locations in the city. The staff were friendly and spoke English in order to take my order, and the service was pretty quick. There’s a nice selection of food and merch here, also. Overall, this is a nice Starbucks for sure, which is a great place to grab a drink while at Centraal Station and if you’ve got some time to kill and admire the views.

I've been to this Starbucks countless times on the way to work and the never bother putting on filter coffee. Instead you have to pay extra and wait much much longer for an americano that you accepted as a substitute.

Major scam for tourists: this is the only Starbucks that on multiple occasions will add on things to your bill without telling you. It happened a few times. The visitors are mainly tourists so they can get away with it. Last time, I noticed that they added on an expressio to my order (0.95 cents) when I asked them to remove it, she scanned a discount code (0.50 cent), when I told her that she still charged me the expressio, and and the discount code was not the same, she dipped in the tip jar to give me 0.40 cent... By this point, I was annoyed as still she could not give me the actual amount and also using money given as tips as a refund

Here you can charge your mobile phone for free and the armchairs are comfortable.

Rock hard pistachio cake! The women at the counter refused to give us a plate even though we were eating inside. She said the dishwasher is not working but there were like 100s of washed dishes behind her. I guess they don't get paid to wash a dish or two. Not their fault. It id the corporate who doesn't believe in excellence of customer service. Also, She didn't ask if we need it little warm. Paid for shit food and ice cold cake. Hate it!

Great view and funny and friendly staff - but unfortunately, as with many Starbucks, despite the high prices it's dirty and shabby; nobody clears tables or wipes clean.

Did not have brewed coffee, only espresso. Lids in cups disintegrate.

So I wouldn't ever really post a review, let alone a 5 star one for somewhere like Starbucks. But I have to comment that the staffmember there, called Olga, absolutely makes my day any time I go in. She is full of energy, super fast and reliable, and always has such a friendly aura. That girl needs more credit because she's awesome.

Worst starbucks in town. It is at a train station. Stop by every morning for a quick coffee fix. They never have filter coffee and can never serve an americano under 10 minutes. Twice had to leave the cup i paid for due late delivery. Bad service.

The worst Starbucks I've ever been to in the world in terms of service; the employees are very unprepared and completely rude. I do not recommend it.

I ordered an Americano for 4EUR as they did not have drip coffee at this location. There was only the vaguest hint of coffee flavor. It tasted like the coffee had been run through the coffee grinds twice, though I am sure they would not do that—it was diluted and anemic. I rarely go to Starbucks anymore, but was desperate for a coffee as coffee shops in Amsterdam close after 6pm. Next time I will just go without coffee if an Americano at Starbucks is my only option. I have noted that Starbucks is soon laying off 900 staff and closing more locations. The business appears to be in retreat and my experience perhaps partly underscores why this is happening. I should note that the staff were friendly.

Very bad customer service. They messed up my order, and when I asked them to double-check, they didn’t even apologize. Instead, they argued with me and had a very rude attitude. Extremely unprofessional. Never come back.

The service was friendly, and the girl tried to give me what I expected, since people order things differently in Mexico than in Europe. They are attentive and speak English.

The place is very beautiful, clean, the drinks and food are very tasty and prepared professionally. The staff are all patient and friendly, especially Olga, who is a very beautiful woman with a beautiful smile, a professional in making all kinds of cold and hot coffees. I can say that Ms. Olga is the sunshine of this shop. She helps the customers sincerely, patiently and with a smile. I recently visited Starbucks at Amsterdam Central Station and decided to try their cheesecake. Unfortunately, it was one of the most tasteless cheesecakes I’ve ever had – bland, dry, and completely lacking in flavor. Not what I’d expect from a brand like Starbucks. Super disappointed.

Olga is truly one of the best employees I’ve ever met worldwide. She is always friendly, smiling, and excellent in customer service. She truly deserves recognition.
