Had a delicious meal, twice this week. The price-quality ratio is good.

No immediate parking space, but we have been coming to Texel for 6 years and always eat there; mussels and the grill platter with spaghetti Carbonara are highly recommended.

The food is delicious, but the staff is incredibly unfriendly. If you order even a small dish, you get a dirty look, and the staff just walks off without a word. The bill is slammed down on the table and then it's gone… You should be grateful that you order anything at all, especially when the restaurant is half empty! And the bill is incomprehensible.

We were visiting Texel. We wanted to have lunch with two children. The pizzas weren't great. Furthermore, I asked for a Margherita with mozzarella instead of the cheese mix because I'm allergic. When the bill came, they charged me €17 for the pizza (which was just a cheese swap) when the Margherita was only €10.50. They charged me the price of a four-cheese pizza. On top of that, a 1L bottle of water was €7. And to top it all off, as if by magic, the credit card terminal wasn't working… RUN AWAY

The mussel pot was good, the mixed grill generous, and my table companions were satisfied with the main courses. Reasonable prices. However, the salad that was supposed to be served with it was merely a garnish on the plate, and there were only two bowls of fries for 8 people (which were also included per dish according to the menu). Starters were disappointing. Carpaccio draped over lettuce like a block straight from a packet, leaving the plastic lines still visible. Oven-baked Scape cheese that was more like cheese pesto sauce… And after specifically asking beforehand if the shrimp in the salad were Dutch (confirmed), seeing that they were pink Norwegian shrimp says something about the kitchen and service.

Excellent service, Mira is always cheerful and sweet to the guests. Meals are very good, you won't want for anything. It is busy, but a spot is easily found for you. Compliments to the kitchen 10+

Delicious food and friendly staff

The food is okay. For the price, there are better places. Canned beer is served in glasses. Card payments are not accepted (though this isn't advertised), and only a handwritten receipt is provided. Very strange for the Netherlands.

I'm truly appalled at how a guest can be treated. We were greeted warmly at first, but that's where the good service ended. We had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our food. All the other guests who arrived much later already had their meals, and yes, we had already politely pointed this out. Apparently, the wait was so long that they had forgotten our order and simply ignored our stated citrus allergy. When we asked them to rectify this, they reacted with annoyance. The fourth portion of fries, which should have been included with the meal, never arrived. When we pointed this out, they again reacted with annoyance. We certainly weren't expecting five-star cuisine, but this was barely bistro quality and extremely greasy because everything is deep-fried and then carelessly arranged with the same salad, if you can even call it that. The pepper and salt mills from Lidl fit right in, as did the very unappetizing toilet 😵‍💫. After we went to pay our bill and asked again for clarification, the presumed owner seriously asked if something was wrong. Since we hadn't received an apology for the previous mistakes, she now showed her claws and became personally rude. We were truly appalled by such behavior, and our evening was unfortunately ruined. We've never experienced anything like this on Texel before. We certainly won't be going back.

I can't understand the other negative reviews regarding the service. We received a very friendly welcome and were served very kindly and attentively throughout our stay. The food was okay, and it was somewhat cheaper than at other restaurants.

During my stay on Texel, I dined at Steakhouse Pizzeria Latino in De Koog, and I can say with certainty that this was one of the best restaurant experiences of my vacation. From the moment we entered, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Even though it was quite busy, we were quickly shown to our table and immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy. The warm decor, the neat tables, and the relaxed environment make it a lovely place to quietly enjoy a meal. The menu is extensive and offers something delicious for almost everyone. You can choose from steaks, pizzas, pastas, spareribs, hamburgers, fish dishes, and much more. I personally chose the spaghetti carbonara, as it is a dish I enjoy ordering and one that allows me to compare restaurants effectively. My choice turned out to be an excellent decision. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and had just the right bite. The carbonara sauce was deliciously creamy and full of flavor without being too heavy or greasy. The bacon bits were crispy and added a nice savory flavor to the dish. Everything was beautifully balanced, and you could taste that it had been prepared with care. The portions were also generous, leaving me feeling satisfied. During the meal, the staff came by regularly to ask if everything was to our liking and if we wanted anything else to drink. This was done in a friendly and relaxed manner, without being pushy. Despite the busyness, the service remained professional, friendly, and quick. This ensured that the entire evening went smoothly. What also struck me was how neat and clean the restaurant was. The tables were cleared quickly, everything looked well-maintained, and the overall appearance of the restaurant was excellent. This creates a sense of trust and shows that attention is paid to quality and hospitality. Furthermore, the restaurant's location is ideal. It is situated right in the heart of the charming center of De Koog, allowing you to take a pleasant stroll through the village or head towards the beach after dinner. This makes dining out here extra enjoyable, especially during a holiday on Texel. I found the value for money to be excellent. Of course, you pay a bit more than average in a tourist location, but in return you get delicious food, generous portions, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. As far as I'm concerned, that is more than worth the money. I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend Steakhouse Pizzeria Latino to anyone visiting Texel. Whether you are in the mood for a steak, pizza, pasta, or another dish, I don't think you will be disappointed here. My spaghetti carbonara was truly delicious and is without a doubt one of the best I have eaten in a long time. Thanks to the entire team for the hospitality and the lovely evening. When I am back on Texel, I will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Fine, but the food needs to be served warmer. The owner is wearing a very dirty, grubby shirt.

Lamb was fine. Fish wasn't - one piece out of three was still almost raw! And payment! I wanted to pay by Visa Card as usual, but I was told they only take EC Card (what is that??) or cash. Completely strange! There are enough other restaurants!

We all ordered a T-bone steak and it was supposed to be served medium rare, but when we received it, it was overcooked. The fries weren't cooked properly either; when we mentioned this, they just made up their mind a bit. When paying, we were immediately told that the card machine was broken and that there was an ATM halfway down the street to withdraw cash. This was the first time at this restaurant, but also the very last.

We ordered pasta, lasagna, and an appetizer. The pasta and lasagna were incredibly bland. The appetizer never arrived, and the service was nonexistent, so we ended up just having a drink.

What a fantastic restaurant! We ate there twice last week during our vacation. Extensive menu, top quality, and affordable too. The staff is very friendly and attentive to their customers. We will definitely be back.

Ordered a plate service shawarma for €17.50 to take away. Friendly staff. But it was supposed to come with mayo and ketchup, which wasn't included. After 7 minutes, I was home. Otherwise, the shawarma was tasteless and the fries were soggy. A bit expensive and a bad buy. Such a shame!

A 3-course meal for just under €30. The salads are tasty but simple, the meat is good, but the mushroom sauce is a bit dry, and the dessert is fine. All in all, a good and delicious 3-course meal that will fill you up. The staff is friendly and hardworking.

Nice restaurant, but we prefer sitting outside; it's more comfortable. Terrace heated in cool weather. Staff very friendly, one of them extremely funny. Delicious food served quickly. I would recommend the mussels and the grilled meats. I'm always very satisfied with them; plentiful and delicious. We were there last week and had a delicious meal. Unfortunately, it was pouring with rain when we left the restaurant, so the waiter offered us an umbrella, which isn't a given. This restaurant is also ideal for people who use wheelchairs, speaking from experience. The staff is always helpful.

We received a friendly welcome on a crowded terrace. The appetizer arrived quickly. The main course arrived after a good hour. A superb Argentinian mix for two. The chicken breast was deliciously tender, but the rest was overcooked and overcooked. Even the rump steak was unrecognizable. After 2.5 hours, the table was half cleared, and a dessert menu wasn't offered. The bill also turned out to be incorrect. The service was out of control, and the kitchen also made mistakes. We will NOT be trying them again.

We were here with four people and two dogs. The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. We had a 1000g meat platter, mixed fish (breaded), and a pizza. The meat and fish were absolutely delicious, and the pizza was excellent! The base was truly delicious! Overall, a fair price-performance ratio. The pizza I ordered took a while to arrive because it was busy. The dough wasn't firm or crispy. Garlic was supposed to be among the ingredients, but I didn't detect any. The pizza tasted good, but wasn't quite what you'd expect for that price.

When we told them we'd just pop in for a drink, we were given strange looks. They told us we couldn't stay there long. Very unfriendly, even though more than half the terrace was empty. We asked for Coca-Cola but were given Aldi Coke. One positive thing was the weather. Beautiful weather! We wanted to pay for two drinks by card. The lady wasn't happy about that.

Wow, this was awful! The sign said tender spareribs, but in reality, they were inedible. Tough, impossible to remove from the bone, and tasteless. The shoarma special seemed cooked through and was very mediocre. The tuna pizza was the best, but you'd send it back at a pizzeria anyway. Terrible!! We did get a discount for the bad food, but that doesn't make it right. We left almost everything. No photos, or everyone would get sick. Never again!!

The food was good, but the third time we were there, we had to wait a long time. They seemed to have forgotten about us. When we asked, we were told it would take another 5 minutes. After another 15 minutes, the first meal arrived, and after another 15 minutes and more questions, the second meal arrived. No explanation or apology as to why it took longer. A shame. The staff, who had been very friendly the two days before, walked around our table, obviously not asking if we were satisfied. Another shame.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it because the wine wasn't delivered as advertised. The wine wasn't listed on the menu, so the price wasn't disclosed.

While our starter was just being put down, the main course arrived. When I asked if I was supposed to eat both dishes at once, it was indicated that this was indeed not nice and the starter was removed from the bill. The schnitzel and salmon pasta were delicious, the fries too and the garlic sauce is absolutely amazing. Still, you get the feeling that you are in a fancy shoarma restaurant, where the lady who helped us may have laughed once in her life, the manager seemed a lot more pleasant to us.

It was a bit chaotic in the service, but we had a great time. However, we both started experiencing quite a bit of pain quite quickly after eating the (same) pizzas. Stomach ache and mild nausea. Maybe because of the oiliness (cheese, salami) and hopefully not because of a lack of hygiene measures. The pizza itself seemed fine when we ate it.

Oh my god, this was delicious. Me and my mother have eaten here twice and both times it was a hit for us. I had the spare ribs both times and my mother had the chicken fillet special the first time and the risotto pollo the second time and I will say it, delicious dishes for a good price It is a small location that fills up quickly. So I recommend booking in advance if you want to eat. I'll eat there again soon. Especially with the variety of meals you can get here, you won't get tired of it quickly. Even if you have a special diet.

What arrogant people. Employee gives me a table, but the boss chases you away. This was because another group that was slightly larger was given priority. Tourist trap!

Very inhospitable place. The people before me were actively being lured in but only wanted to look at the menu for another day. When I came in 2 minutes later I was refused because they were 'fully booked'. At least 10 tables were free and 2 of them had a reserved sign. I assume it was because I was alone. Not recommended.

Frutti di Mare with something like surimi, otherwise risotto ok. Very cheap ham and salami on the pizza, but the base was good. You can do it, but it's not great either.

We have been on Texel for 3 weeks and after more than 1 week we have already eaten at this fine restaurant 5 times... delicious food, good quality, very friendly and hospitable staff, you are really pampered as a guest and feel more than welcome . This is certainly not the last time we have been here... because there is really plenty of choice and very affordable prices...

The toppings on the pizza were placed carelessly (if the pizza had tasted good, that wouldn't have been a problem). The base is much too thick and wobbly, the cheese, if you can call it cheese, is also much too thick and tough. The pasta agio olio was swimming in tomato liquid and there was no fresh garlic to be seen or tasted. All in all, the food was really not recommended. The drinks had little carbonation. We were served by 4 different people. After we had finished eating, no one came to clear up because some of the staff were at the table inside. Of course, card payment was not possible for technical reasons.

Unfortunately not recommended... Ordered 1 appetizer and 2 pizzas. Starter was ok. Unfortunately only lukewarm instead of hot. Baked sheep's cheese with tomatoes and onions. Aluminum foil on...hot steam out, food was only lukewarm, a shame. There was also some pizza bread... very tasty, which gave us hope for a delicious pizza. This wasn't for us in terms of taste. Bland without taste... Salami/ham very neutral (cheap goods?) Cheese analogous? Our impression was that goods were used without quality. Arugula on the pizza added some flavor. I've never had to use salt and pepper to season a pizza. Staff was very friendly! There wasn't much going on that evening. We sat outside and what's not possible is that someone from the staff is constantly sitting 3 tables away to smoke.

The short version: the store does what it promises from the outside. The long version: “Are you sure you want to go in there?” the reviewer asked his companions, given the restaurant's external appearance. Okay, the other Italian was closed, it was shortly before 7 p.m. and the two small children (4 years old) were hungry. We asked if there was a table available for 5 people, we were assigned a table for 4 people. Okay, we just have to get together. The starter "Salad Capricciosa" we ordered turned out to be a salad carpaccio, which was served quite edibly on rocket leaves with a few sprinkles of parmesan. The “Latino” pizza that was delivered (onions, mushrooms, salami, peppers, garlic, egg) was stomach-filling, but nothing more. The garlic was missing, the salami was more like a cervelat sausage and was added later. The pizza crust was hard, the fried eggs were rock hard. For the children we ordered fries and a portion of pasta with Bolognese sauce. Fries were okay, the Bolognese sauce looked more like goulash sauce and the child left it with violent facial grimaces right after the first bite. Service: the male waiter was extremely friendly and clearly tried to make up for the lack of food with friendliness. The female waiter, on the other hand, gave the impression that the guests - no - probably found her job rather annoying. Ambience: you get the impression that the store has seen its best days behind it. When the weather is good, you can sit outside and watch the tourists stroll past on the pedestrian zone. It's better not to look too closely inside. Conclusion: Recommendable? Rather not.

I have never received such bad service as I did at this restaurant. We had a 3 course meal and the soup came after 45 minutes, in total it took us over 2 hours for dinner. Beer was warm and the cola had a strange aftertaste. Never again.🤮🤮🤮

Had dinner here on a Thursday evening during the May holidays. There was still one picture available here. Service is smooth and friendly. Quite a lot of different types of meat dishes, platters, pizza and pasta. The prices are good and the main course is already filling. Partly because of the large portion of fries and the baked potato (which already contains garlic butter). Otherwise a good meal for the money.

The food portions were really good, and I loved sitting and watching people pass by. My only complaint was about the cleanliness. Our server brought the food with one plate sort of on top of the other, touching, and one of the glasses was not clean.

We ate there three times and each time we were surprised with nice things from the kitchen. Despite very poor knowledge of German, the service was always friendly and always tried to fulfill all requests. The food itself was always freshly prepared and can be recommended, even with the quantities you fill up well. We would be happy to come back on our next vacation.
