Stoop & Stoop eetcafé in De Weteringschans

My wife and I found this restaurant (during our honeymoon) on a whim and was astounded by the quality of the service and food. The staff were amazing, offering the best recommendations of their menu. The food was reasonably priced (underpriced in our opinion) and the food was incredible. Thank you to the Stoop & Stoop for a memorable experience that will remain with us.

Excellent dinner at fair prices. €50 for two for two dishes, two beers, and a dessert. A traditional liqueur on the house! Highly recommended.

Exceptional service, delicious food. I highly recommend!

After four hours at the Rijks museum we were famished for a hearty lunch. We had a wonderful fare of Dutch classics and ate every bit of it. Great beer and wine also.

The best schnitzel I have ever had (sorry my German friends) also the truffle burger is amazing!! Would definitely recommend next time you're in Amsterdam

The location was perfect and warm. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was a great spot for kids.

We're in Amsterdam, so you have to adjust your Italian standards differently. I could conclude by saying I'd go back for the food, service, and friendliness. The meat was good, both the grilled one and the one with their pepper cream (like pepper steak), both served with fries and a salad. A half-liter beer and water came to €62. I think I'll go back, and it's definitely worthy of comparison with many other places. The price and quality ratio are 5 stars.

It's good. Food is nice, the atmosphere of this street is lively and they offer some traditional food.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The sauerkraut Stamppot (? On spelling?) was AMAZING. It was like a warm hug on a plate. Also, we got the mini pancakes and apple pie for our dessert, and both were so yummy. The staff were nothing but kind and welcoming. If we come back to Amsterdam, we will be sure to come back here. :)

I went there for Dutch food 🍴 The menu was scanned with a QR code. You can choose Japanese! The menu has pictures so it's easy to understand ✨ The seats are close to each other so if you're bringing large luggage it might get in the way 🧳 All the food was delicious 😋

We went there for dinner to taste stamppot (local specialty made with mashed vegetables and meat). The wait time was a bit long but other than that the food was good and there are many other choices for those who are not interested in stamppot.

It was the best in Amsterdam. If I had to pick one place, it would be here. It's a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a meal. The food and local beer were both perfect. The owner was friendly and made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend the salmon salad.

Delicious food, no rush. You can dine at your leisure. The food was more than plentiful and very tasty! We both had satay (chicken and pork) with plenty of satay sauce, fries, and salad. Beautifully grilled. Delicious. And the service was perfect! We enjoyed a pleasant chat at the table. We will definitely be back, highly recommended!

The prices are tourist prices, but the food is local. I made a reservation in advance and the staff was friendly. Be sure to try the steak and meat.

Not sure why this is rated so high... Nothing wrong with this place, but average in every sense of the word. For example: They are serving aperol spritz, and limoncello, but can't serve a limoncello spritz. Interesting 🤔. They don't serve a bread appetizer as there is no demand. Perhaps "selling" it to your guests helps 🙂. The quality of the food is ok. The chicken sate is richly sized. Nice! Service is friendly. The price is ok. But overall... Average. Not bad at all. Not punching above its weight either. So, I think the high ratings (4.7 average when we were there) are slightly surprising.

There is a Japanese menu, and English is also spoken. The staff are kind. They serve Dutch food. They also have local beer and wine. The portions are generous. They can accommodate vegans, gluten-free people, and people with various allergies. The gluten-free Belgian beer was delicious.

We tried to find a local restaurant that can provide local Dutch cuisine. This restaurant provides Beef stew on top of mash potato. This is a tasty dish. We learn that the mash potato with veggie was originated from WW2. Wow! The Sweet Spare Rib is also nicely prepared. The Dutch Onion Soup is different from the French one. French onion is caramelized the onion during preparation. Dutch one is not required. The Poffertjes, Dutch mini pancake, is interesting, one mouthful of pancake is very satisfying.

We went to dinner at this restaurant thanks to the nice reviews seen on Google Maps and we were not disappointed, indeed more than satisfied with the Dutch cuisine dishes and the excellent, precise and super helpful service in explaining their products to us in the best possible way.

My go-to restaurant for great Dutch food, cosy vibes and the loveliest staff! Have been there 5 times already and it never disappoints :) everything is amazing, but the Endive Stamppot is especially delicious. The atmosphere is homely, and nothing like other tourist-filled Dutch restaurants on the same street. I will be back again!!

I'm Japanese. I visited for dinner to try Dutch food. By scanning the QR code on the menu, you can see the food and dessert menu translated into various languages. When I arrived at the time I reserved on Google, I was seated immediately after just saying my name. The traditional Dutch mashed potatoes were delicious! Both of the two staff members were very kind!

We always eat here before going to the theatre, and it’s consistently a great experience. The location is perfect—just steps from Leidseplein and several theatres—and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The couple who run the restaurant truly care about their guests. Service is fast, the portions are generous, and the food is always tasty and well-prepared. It’s not fine dining, but the quality and flavor are excellent, and the price-quality ratio is hard to beat. It’s easy to see why so many regulars return time and time again—including us.

It was pretty good but the Stoop burger was not great and not what I expected. It had some sweet green sauce that was called guacamole but definitely not guacamole. The salad was also overdressed.

Visited on a Tuesday evening. Food and drinks were lovely, service was great. Owners were really friendly and gave us a cheeky shot with the bill. Would recommend.
