Stoop & Stoop eetcafé in De Weteringschans

A wonderful local dining experience! We went to Stoop & Stoop eetcafé yesterday, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant has such a warm, traditional, and authentic atmosphere. Everything we ordered was fantastic—hearty, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the staff was amazingly friendly and attentive throughout the night. If you want great comforting food in a charming setting, this is the place to be!

A quiet restaurant serving local cuisine in the city center. Choose between a spacious terrace, the bar, or the indoor dining room. It's August, so it's best to dine on the terrace with a cool breeze. The staff is very friendly, providing warm and attentive service. The service is very fast. Generous portions, quality ingredients, and beautiful presentation. Everything was delicious. We arrived without a reservation and were able to get a table in less than 20 minutes, even though it was the first Sunday in August. Try to eat at this restaurant if you're spending a few days in Amsterdam. A sure bet.

Came here with a friend to sample some Danish food and it was absolutely delicious, especially the Bitterballen. A huge thankyou to Talin who charged my phone as I had everything on it and I’d of literally been lost without it (as my watch also died just as I was about to pay). Thankyou again!!

I had a Dutch home-style meal and it was delicious!! It was more filling than I expected!! The candy at the end was tasty too!!

Even though we arrived relatively late, we were greeted very warmly. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy, right on the street, and there was music playing. We really enjoyed it!

Amazing food and quality service

Impeccable service, nothing to complain about! The staff is very welcoming, smiling, and friendly! The restaurant is ideally located and offers a warm atmosphere, both inside and on the terrace. As for the food, the dishes are excellent, prepared with high-quality ingredients. We particularly enjoyed the Dutch specialties, which were delicious and a great way to discover local cuisine. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Very friendly and warm welcome from the owner. There was a menu in Greek with all the descriptions. All the flavors were amazing and special with a nice treat of grappa and stroopwaffel liqueur for the end! Very tasty salad with goat cheese, puree with beef, the variety with all the traditional Dutch cuisine (meatballs - fish - cheese croquettes with accompanying sauces for each). The delicious Burgers....and for dessert the sweet pancakes...🫶 I highly recommend for good food at good prices!👍👍👍

We had a great journey during our visit of Stoop & Stoop eetcafe. We went after a long day of exploring Amsterdam and going to the beach there, to eat 6 Bitballen and a classical Danish Stoopwaffel. Both were gorgeous.

First time trying Dutch cuisine. Ordered a starter platter which consisted of smoked raw minced beef, pork sausage and two types aged and non aged cheese. Pleasant in taste and no ingredient over powering. Highlight was the Stampot beef stew. Very tender stewed beef atop a bed of mashed potatoes with chopped endives. Very tasty and the mash was very smooth in consistency. Portion wasn't overly large but enough to satisfy and quell any hunger pangs. Restaurant was cosy and service staff were very friendly and efficient.

We had a great meal. They have mostly local food with a few select additions. The service was excellent and they helped us make an excellent choice. The Dutch stake was the centerpiece. They also have good wine choices. We have tried other restaurants on the street and this one is the best.

The traditional food was very good, the schnitzel was very well made, crispy, the mushroom sauce was very good, and the accompanying potatoes were also very good. The sausage was great, very tasty and spicy, perfect to pair with one of the local beers. The mashed potatoes have thin slices of onion inside, unlike Brazilian mashed potatoes, but I really liked them. But the best part was the service, the waitress was very attentive, cheerful, super dedicated, and even gave us a sample of the stroopwafel liqueur, which I didn't know, and now I'll order it wherever I find it.

Lots of choice, good quality food, friendly and helpful service. We tried the stamppot, salad, and starters, as well as the desserts. Everything was good. They were very kind, and even offered us a traditional liqueur. Approved.

This was a nice little restaurant, a little outside the main tourist area. It seems to be family run and the staff don’t appear as confident with English as most places. The décor was quite old-fashioned. That said, the food was uncomplicated and tasty. We enjoyed our meal here.

2 on us. We had the most delicious Shrimp appetizer called Garnalen - shrimp in a spicy, sweet, garlic, ginger sauce. Entrees we did Stampot Zuurkool: mash potato with sausage, bacon, and sauerkraut - and Stampot Andijvie: mash potato with beef stew. Delicious. Recommend this place highly. First night in Amsterdam, started the week off right!
