A fantastic restaurant. The server immediately took care of finding us a table, even though it was quite busy. The food was absolutely superb. Really delicious, traditional Dutch cuisine. We had to wait a little while for our food, but it was well worth it for the taste. 5/5, I highly recommend it.

We (my husband, my 6 year old, my 2 year old, and myself) came in on a Saturday at 5PM. When we walked in they only had one big table (we had a stroller) that had a reservation for 6PM. They openly accepted us and told us we had an hour but secretly to take our time. Our food was amazing and came out super quick. Everyone treated our kids amazingly. Would highly recommend if you're in the area!

Busy restaurant for good reason. As walk-ins we were given a table outside under the heaters to wait with drinks while a table became available. It was actually only 5 mins. Lovely atmosphere, service was spot on and excellent Dutch food. See QR code on their menu for description and photos.

A Christmas day dinner at your Aunt and Uncle's house. That's how this experience felt for us, having arrived here in Amsterdam on actual Christmas Day. Staff was friendly, prompt, and attentive. The vibes inside are lively, the feeling invokes a locals gathering spot and the food has an excellent first taste of the Dutch cuisine experience we were chasing. The two dishes we tried were the Stamppot Andijvie (beef stew with endive mashed potatoes) and the Hotchpotch Andijvie (meatball + bacon with endive mashed potatoes). I loved that the Stamppot Andijvie came with some fresh sprouts topped off, it really made a difference with enhancing the flavor profile. And the meatball was just delicious and we'll crafted with its own unique flavor. Decent portion sizes, we split a bottle of wine and got lucky enough to be at the window seat people watching. Can't think of a better way to spend Christmas Dinner!

Delicious dishes, especially the onion and pea soups, and traditional Dutch dishes as a main course. The staff is very welcoming, everyone is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is small but traditional, pub-style and very cozy. Reservations are recommended. Definitely worth a try.

We can highly recommend the "Stoop & Stoop eetcafé" restaurant. My husband and I had dinner there tonight. The staff were fabulous and gave us great local Amsterdam food and drink recommendations. The service was excellent. We both felt it was a family run business, and really shone through with their care. We also noticed that locals ate there and that is always a great sign. We will definitely return here again!

We had a great meal at this cozy cafe, not too big, with friendly owners. From stews to steaks and fish, there's something for everyone. The menu isn't too extensive, so you don't have to worry about choosing, but there's plenty to choose from. We had excellent beef carpaccio and schnitzel. Within walking distance of Melkweg, where the four of us attended a performance.

A must eat in Amsterdam! Great experience from the second you walk in: friendly service, nice atmosphere, and incredible food! We started with the shrimp appetizer and could easily have just ordered five more! The stamp pot was fantastic and the beef stew melted in your mouth. Will definitely come back anytime we’re in the area!

Great little authentic spot serving delicious traditional Dutch food as well as other tasty options. The service was so friendly, and the atmosphere perfect with golden oldies playing at an appropriate sound level and groups of locals having drinks and laughs. Really enjoyed!

Lovely spot for some Authetic Dutch food. I came to Stoop and Stoop for a Birthday meal in a party of 10 and we had a wonderful meal. The staff were great and went the extra mile to make our celebration special. I highly reccomend it .

Warm service, pleasant atmosphere and good food!

Highly recommended. We went in at an odd time, so it was empty at first, but by 7pm it was packed with local reservations. The menu is available in Japanese if you scan it with a QR code, and it even has photos. The Heineken a young man poured us was so good we had to take a triple take after drinking it. It was so different from the Heineken I'd had before. It's not too expensive, and it's so delicious, so be careful not to drink too much. The owners are a married couple, and the wife was kind, as she arrived at work around 6pm, so we had a great time until the very end. The place is in a bar district, so if you're worried about safety or the time, we recommend coming earlier for a more relaxed drink.

The stamppots are lovely made. Easy to eat and very enjoyable. We were put in a table in a narrow aisle because it was a busy evening and or other table were taken. But the boss lady moved us to a more spacious table once it became available. We were able to enjoy the food in comfort. Food and drinks came fairly quickly and they tasted very good. We are more than happy with the food and services. I’d recommend this place to everyone of you want to experience Dutch food or just want a good time.

A wonderful meal. Thoroughly enjoyed. If looking for a traditional Dutch meal in Amsterdam, this was perfection. On a wet night it dried us and warmed us up. The onion soup was a “hug in a bowl”. Highly recommend. Thank you

This place is a little gem... we had probably the best food we've had since being in Amsterdam. Really quaint and full of character. We reserved a place but were half hour late due to getting lost and a massive downpour. This wasn't a problem as the owners were very understanding and accommodating. The place was full of people that appeared to be from a wide variety of nationalities. My wife and I both had the onion soup starter and it didnt disappoint. We had the mash with beef stew and the mash with meatball and bacon for the main... and again it was absolutely beautiful... so tasty! The beef stew came as a succulent piece of beef which fell apart . The meatball again was so tasty with crispy bits of bacon scattered on top. Absolutely loved the experience and would definitely recommend this place. Location wise its conveniently situated just off one of the main tram stops in Leidseplein. Give it a go, it won't disappoint!

A chill place to try various Dutch food. We got the stamppot with sauerkraut, steak and fish platter. Everything was served within 15 mins and the stamppot was really filling. Great service too. It fills up fast so I would recommend reserving a table though.

A warm welcome, pleasant service, and a glass of delicious wine. The sauerkraut mash was rather inauthentic. Lots of mashed potatoes with gravy (from cans?) and mediocre sausage. It was pleasantly busy, but some of the guests were very noisy.
