We were motivated by the large number of great reviews, but in the end we were disappointed by the food. Maybe things were not so good in the kitchen on that day, as the fish was partially raw, the hollandaise sauce did not taste like a homemade one, and the french fries were reheated.

Very well received and superb quality cuisine!

Had dinner then nade a train ride to Came back the next day for lunch :)

Very lovely restaurant with great value

The food was very high quality, the very best the Dutch cuisine has to offer. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well.

You can try the traditional Dutch cuisine. The Dutch ham is delicious. The sauces are just right. The beef stew is very special. It is recommended to order different main dishes and exchange them. The desserts are delicious. The service staff are very enthusiastic and energetic. I will recommend friends who have never tried it to try it.

Small but very welcoming and characteristic, friendly and very kind staff, especially in welcoming tourists by communicating in their language (even the menu is in several languages, even Italian). Delicious Dutch food and really welcoming service. Highly, highly recommend the goat cheese croquettes. I didn’t understand the national adoration of stamppot until I tried the combination stamppot dish with meatball. It was delicious and hit the spot on a typical cold wet and grey Amsterdam day.

We arrived at 16:30 on Monday. Although there were only four of us, the boss saw that we had a lot of luggage and let us sit at a table for six. Thank you very much! There are menus in various languages ​​(including Chinese). It is cheaper to order a set meal. The waiters are very kind. We ordered set meals 3 and 4 with steak and mini waffles. My wife and I are from the US and we visited the Netherlands back in September 2024. The Pantry is cozy, friendly, and it has delicious authentic Dutch food. I'm not super well-travelled, but I can honestly say that this place is one of my favourite restaurants in the world. Check out my pictures and captions for details. I ordered the Menu 1 three-course meal, and my wife ordered the Menu 2 three-course meal. The house beer paired very well with the food. I would strongly recommend making a reservation here for the best possible experience!

This restaurant makes you feel at a Dutch home. So nice and warm. Perfect for the cold weather today. For starters we had the pea soup which was very welcoming to our cold hands. The beef stew was so hearty and warming. Loved the warm red cabbage side dish. My hubby ordered the Sausage with smashed potatoes with carrots. The ham looked amazing , but we did not ordered :) Next time!

Cozy atmosphere and nice service

We dined twice at the Pantry and were kindly received and advised each time. The restaurant has a limited menu (available in several languages) of typical dishes. For example, pea soup, raw herring, smoked sausage with a choice of side dishes... And all this for a very reasonable price. We therefore warmly recommend it to you!

Excellent, authentic, not very expensive, impeccable service and very kind, go for it with your eyes closed.

Disappointed by this place. The food (stew, potato puree, cabbage ) was definitely not home made and tasted industrial, really not good and from low quality. The interior was cozy but that didn’t make up for it. Don’t recommend to go there, it’s overpriced and there are way better alternatives.

Went here on holiday with friends and we wanted to try traditional Dutch food and this place seemed to deliver. Service was lovely, waitress’ were lovely. Total was 77 for three people and it was very filling.

The cheese balls were perfectly warm, not too hot to eat, the ham was tender with well-paired sides, and the apple pie was a standout—neither too sweet nor overly rich, with a wonderfully hearty texture. I booked to go to The Pantry almost two months in advance, when I approached the entrance on the day of the appointment I was scared as there was a queue of people before me. As soon as I said I had a reservation they handed me my table. The waiter who could make himself understood in at least 5 languages ​​was super kind and gave us advice on ordering the typical dishes of the city. The food was wonderful, super generous portions and fairly priced. Really recommended to pop in here if you want to know a little about Dutch food!

When we arrived, there was a tremendous queue, thank goodness we had booked a few hours before and we got in right away. Once we started eating, we understood why so many people wanted to come in: delicious food, with a lot of flavor and more than acceptable quantities. We were delighted with both the food and the treatment of the people who served us (who won us over as soon as we entered with their kindness and joy). Super recommended for those looking for a wide range of typical Dutch food instead of the specific and repetitive things that you see in the different stalls or the city center.

This was the best restaurant on our trip to the Netherlands. Although the cost performance was good, all the staff were kind, friendly, and delicious. Although the portion of each plate is quite large, the seasoning is gentle, so I think men can finish the whole course, but they also handle sharing courses.

Cramped restaurant like everywhere in Amsterdam. On the other hand, excellent cuisine, fresh products. The sea bass was cooked just right, the croquettes were very tasty and the fish mix (eel, herring and shrimp) was a great discovery.
