I made a reservation and went. I hope everyone stops by. I wanted to go two or three times and eat more. It's a healthy, home-cooked Dutch meal that's not too salty.

Last Saturday, my wife and I had a wonderful meal at The Pantry in Amsterdam. What a charming and authentic restaurant! We chose the stamppot with smoked sausage for our main course—a true classic that was perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed a bottle of red wine, a lovely Merlot that paired perfectly with the dish. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and warm. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Dutch cuisine at its best!

This was our first time in Amsterdam, and we were so glad we went to The Pantry on our first night. The restaurant was very busy but our waiter soon had a table sorted for us. The restaurant is cosy and typically Dutch. We enjoyed the Dutch 3-course menu, and all the dishes were so good. The staff and atmosphere were amazing and would definitely go back again. The Dutch wine was very nice and the Dutch coffee and liquor was good too!! If you visit Amsterdam and want to try Dutch dishes, I highly recommend The Pantry! Plan to maybe book in advance to avoid any disappointment 👍🏻

A few days ago, we got seated at an outdoor table after the waiter told us we could sit there instead of waiting about 30 minutes for a spot inside. Just a few minutes later, the same waiter came back and asked us to leave because another couple who had been waiting decided they wanted that table. The table had been empty before we arrived, so there was clearly no mix-up — just really poor handling of the situation and a lack of respect for customers. No matter how good the food might be, it’s simply not okay to ask people to get up after they’ve already been seated. Really disappointing experience, and I honestly hope the management pays attention to this.

I was told I could try great Dutch food here, and that’s exactly what I got. I enjoyed every meal, and they were served fast, despite having many other tables. The food was so good that, despite feeling full, I finished it all because it was that good.

Now this is a very good dutch restaurant. It is not the one you find in the internet first, but it is in the area of the dutch restaurants. Great food, very friendly staff and a fast service. Portions are right and they have a good beer selection too.

High rating here is well-deserved. Absolutely spot on. Definitely come and try it, especially the stamppot and pea soup

I had a great meal at this restaurant. I came around 3:30 pm during off-peak hours and it was perfect. I'm glad I was able to eat typical Dutch dishes and I wasn't disappointed, everything was good. I'm full, I ate exactly what I needed. I highly recommend coming during off-peak hours.

If you want to try Real Dutch cuisine, make a reservation in advance and enjoy. Very small restaurant at 15 min. Walk from the Downtown district. The staff is very friendly. If you do not have reservation, be prepared for a long wait.

I had Dutch food that was really well cooked, the people who served us were very kind, and the place is beautiful and charming. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try typical local food. My only regret is that I wasn't able to take a photo; I'll definitely try the kale puree recipe. I was lucky to get a table right away; if you don't reserve or arrive late, you'll have to wait a bit.

If you want Dutch food, this is the place! Perfect beef stew and wonderful service, if you visit Amsterdam, you have to drop by here! Better reserve or else you might end up being in a long queue!

What can I say, we ordered Menu 1 &2, it’s was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t book a table online so we went to the restaurant and waited for about 15 minutes. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Amsterdam looking for a nice cuisine, ciao!

What a great dinner I had! Everything was great, from the food to the beers. I sugest asking for "The Ducht Ham". Perfect cooked/baked pork with a Honey Mustard sauce, and french fries. Take that with a local beer. Proost!

The restaurant is very comfortably furnished and has a limited number of tables. On Saturday, we had to wait about 10 minutes without a reservation. The food was delicious; it's truly the kind of food I'd imagine a Danish grandmother would serve. The staff were also consistently friendly. 10/10

The Pantry was such a good eating experience! It was my first time trying Dutch food. I ordered the Menu 2 that included the goat cheese croquettes, the oven dish with cauliflower, ground beef, lots of old Amsterdam cheese and mashed potatoes and poffertjes that are like mini pancakes (my favorite). The service was amazing, and even though we had a +40 min wait to go inside the turnover was pretty fast so we just had to wait for like 30 min. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere to eat and I’m not surprised it was full throughout the whole time we were there.

Exceptional traditional Dutch cuisine. You won’t be disappointed. We dined in at 3pm and the restaurant has been busy through the day. Great meal options and we especially loved the meatball.

The Pantry is a solid spot for authentic Dutch food. The Savory Beef and Onion Stew was excellent, rich and hearty. The Salted Herring with Onions and Pickles was a good appetizer, but the Typical Dutch Ham was unfortunately served cold. An enjoyable, if somewhat inconsistent, dining experience.

This feels like you are being welcomed into someone’s home. The staff was warm and friendly. The place is cozy but in a hug sorta way. I would suggest reservations, we luckily made reservations. But the line was long when we left. The food was delicious and homemade. If you are looking to try Dutch food in your trip this would be the place.

We're from Russia and decided to try the local cuisine. Herring and mashed potatoes are popular here, too, but here they're especially delicious: the herring is lightly salted and tender, and the mashed potatoes are simply delicious! The apple pie was the most delicious I've ever had. We showed up without a reservation and were lucky to find a seat available. Reservations are required inside, and we highly recommend it!

I was glad to find a place like this instead of constantly eating fries and steak. We didn't love the food, but it felt good to eat local food. It's ideal for the experience; it's worth a visit. The portions are so large you could even eat just one dish.

We searched for native kitchen, the food was very good. Place is a bit too touristic, but if you need Dutch dinner near Rijks, all are touristic.

Traditional Dutch cuisine with Chinese menu

Visited in July and wanted an authentic Dutch meal, this place did not disappoint. We visited earlier in the day to try and book however they were full and they recommended going before 18:00 to get a table for 2 people. We followed the advice and only had a short wait before getting a table that evening. The menu offers a variety of set menus which are perfect to try a range of Dutch food and there is also a full menu to choose from. The waitresses are very friendly despite being so busy and took the time to explain each dish which was perfect as the food was new to us. Would recommend as a comfortable environment to try delicious Dutch cuisine.

Had a wonderful authentic Dutch meal here! At least, it seemed authentic to me - I am Canadian, not Dutch haha. The service was so friendly and quick; the man serving was ripping around table to table but was so kind doing it. I had “Meal 1” which has pea soup, hutspot and a custard/yogurt dessert and I was honestly blown away. I’m not even very fond of pea soup usually but it was so flavourful. One downside is that the restaurant is quite small so make a reso to be sure you get in!

The traditional stew is delicious, the appetizers are unique, and the draft beer is a must!

Ah, it's a good one. It's Han Good In. The food, taste, and atmosphere were all great, but the food came out a little late. ㅠㅠ It was a light, Dutch home-style course meal, so I enjoyed it. You definitely have to try their signature house beer! It's delicious and non-carbonated.

In the center of Amsterdam, we had a luxurious meal, the service was perfect, they went out of their way to serve us, the place is small so you have to go slowly.

I read the reviews but was skeptical until our tour guide recommended it. It was beyond expectations - fantastic food, an efficient and yet friendly waitress with reasonable prices. As a family run business, they got the art of Dutch cuisine down to an art. The vegetarian option for menu 2 was amazing and steaming hot. Paired with a local IPA, it was perfect for a brisk evening. The wait is worth it. Give this place a try.

Small restaurant in the center of Amsterdam. Generous and truly delicious portions, traditional dishes, and very friendly staff. They also have an Italian menu and special menus for Italians. I recommend trying the shrimp! They're out of this world. The pea soup was delicious and very delicate.

A typical restaurant recommended by many. We called in the morning to make a reservation, but were told they didn't accept reservations. We were told to show up and wait if necessary. We arrived at eight o'clock; the restaurant was actually full, but several tables were being filled. The waitress taking reservations immediately replied that it wasn't possible to stay, only to find out later that within a quarter of an hour she had seated first one person alone and then a couple. There were four of us, and they were also willing to wait. Too bad for them; we ended up having dinner across the street (The Blauwe Hollander). The food was delicious, and above all, the staff were very kind.

We loved the Dutch food, the atmosphere and the service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have set menus, very good value. They offer vegetarian version for some of the menus. It is advisable to book in advance as it is really busy.

Traditional dishes with lots of veggie options. We went at 2pm on a Sunday and waited about 10 mins to be seated. I had the veg oven dish - mashed cheesy potato on leek and onion - which was delicious! Not bad pricing considering the area it’s in. Only downside is they don’t serve tap water, which is a con in a city with clean tap water.

A very friendly atmosphere with smiling servers, a warm setting, excellent dishes and very reasonable prices. Bravo!

I think it's a nice stop on an Amsterdam visit, they seem to have traditional food for a fair price. The servers are all very kind and nice, I would recommend just for that, but also the food was good and filling. I got the menu 2 and it filled me up even being super hungry. Recommended 100%

I had Dutch food. There were four different sets, each consisting of an appetizer, main course, and dessert, so I was able to enjoy Dutch cuisine at a very reasonable price. As with any restaurant, the portions for Dutch people are quite large, so it was difficult to finish it, but it was very delicious. The waiter was also friendly and attentive. As it is a popular restaurant, it started to get crowded after 6pm, and there was a bit of a queue.

We waited an hour to eat because it opened at 3:00 p.m. that day. It was worth it. Everything was good, from the food to the service. Thank you for this experience.

Friendly service, food was fantastic, lots of vegetarian options. Very busy place - we were lucky to get a walk in table, but I recommend making a reservation because there was a big line outside by the time we finished our meal (even on a weeknight).

Was no 1 on trip advisor and no wonder why. A queue outside but staff assured us it wouldn’t be long for a table(heard that before). Well 5 mins later a table inside. The traditional Dutch ham was amazing. Well cooked, beautiful service. Busy and extremely welcoming. Staff are so good. I would not hesitate to eat here again.

Taking a star off just because one of the plates wasn't like my taste at all, but it falls on my lap and not onto the restaurant, the service was great, they sat me in the window and I was very thankful for that, got the 3 course and it was very intersting
